LG's Smart Cover for their New Flagship: A Revolutionary Case?
Hey there everybody, it's Joshua Vergara from Android Authority, and I'm here to give you an exclusive look at LG's new smart cover for their flagship phone. As we all know, covers are a staple in the world of smartphones, and LG has finally joined the party with this innovative design.
The Quick Circle Case: A Game-Changer?
So, what do we have here? The Quick Circle Case is essentially a backing that replaces the original backing of the LG G3, with a flap that goes right over the screen. This smart cover has smart capabilities, and I'm excited to share all the details with you. When you close it, the screen will turn off except for that circle up there at the top half. It's like having your own personal assistant, right on your phone.
The Feel of the Case
Now, let's talk about the feel of this case. As I mentioned earlier, it's made of plastic all around, which is to be expected. However, what you get here is a brushed feel that's similar to the back of the original LG G3 cover. It has that matted-to-the-touch kind of feel, but with a metallic touch. They're trying to go for a more premium look and feel, despite still being somewhat plastic or hybrid plastic.
The Circle: The Heart of the Matter
Now, this is where things get really interesting. The circle on top third or top half of the case is where all the action happens. You'll be able to have a watch face on there, and there are a bunch of different watch faces available for you to cater the experience to what you want it to look like. One even has a mechanical look to it, which is kind of cool.
When you swipe over, you'll have a circular grid of six applications. These apps allow you to get into some functions that you can use through the circle without having to open the case to get to your phone. One particular app I found really interesting was the phone application. You can scroll through recent calls and even call people via just that portion. And, believe it or not, you can take pictures using the camera application through the circle itself.
LG's Take on Smart Covers
So, this is basically LG's take on smart covers, and I have to say, it does look pretty cool. But what really sets it apart is the added functionality even when the cover is down. The circle up top takes advantage of the screen's own sensitivity and serves as a display for some applications that you can use. And with so many watch faces available, you can really make this thing look the way you want it to.
Conclusion
Well, there you have it, folks! LG's new smart cover is definitely a game-changer. I'm excited to see how it holds up in our hands-on review unit and share all the details with you. In the meantime, keep an eye out for further coverage on the LG G3, including this particular quick circle case. feel to it they're trying to go for more of a metallic type of feel despite everything still being somewhat plastic or at least a hybrid of plastic and that's what you get in the quick circle case as particular was the phone application which i thought was cool where you can actually scroll through recent uh recent calls and you'll be able to call people via just that portion and then you are even able to take pictures using the camera application through the circle itself as i said this is basically lg's take on the smart cover and it does look pretty cool but adds further functionality even
