The Book of Ivy by Amy Engel

**A Review of "The West Falls" by [Author's Name]**

As I sat down to watch this review, I thought it went by like super fast. I thought I think it could have been slowed down a bit but then again I was all like in the span of 3 days so I could understand why I went bad fast and the ending was really good it left you with the Cliffhanger almost like oh what's going to happen next we are in a pickle here. Overall, the ping was good I liked all the characters I liked Ivy I didn't love Ivy it took me a while to warm up to Ivy because she was just such a hard shell to crack but you understand why as you read on Bishop I liked him immediately he's a great character.

Ivy's family not in love with them I'll go into that a little bit later in the spoiler section they just have a not so good vibe ringing from them. So, if you're looking for a great dystopian novel it's all about like you know whether or not to kill my husband or not check this one out. I gave it a four out of five like I said it's one of my favorites this year um well I didn't give it a full five out of five because there's a couple little kinks I didn't like about it but overall I really enjoyed it and I would recommend this to a friend so definitely pick it up don't let the cover fool you because when I looked at this I was like this cover is horrible if they did it just like I don't know different I would totally pick it up but I don't like this cover at all but don't judge a book by its cover.

But, that's not all. I didn't like Ivy's family because her dad just kept filling Ivy with all this nonsense about how awful Bishop was how awful his dad was his dad's kind of awful but he's not not as bad as his as Ivy's dad portrayed him to be like he said that he killed her mom and all that kind of stuff he didn't really kill her mom I mean not unless he's telling the truth you know like I mean I understood his story and I kind of agreed with it I didn't like it but I understood it. You know, he had to not be with her otherwise he'd be breaking the rules and everyone Break The Rules he had to maintain stuff for his family so I understand that and to say and for Ivy's Dad to say that he killed her because he fell in love with her and broke her heart like I let like I kind of don't but I mean like he didn't he didn't stab her he didn't kill her she did it herself. So, Ivy's dad is manipulative he wants to get into power and he's doing he's willing to do anything killing and stuff like that.

Ivy doesn't want that at all she wants it to be peaceful but she's she's I feel so bad for Ivy she has such an internal struggle with this she like she loves Bishop she loves her family but what's the right thing to do here and she knows it and she has to portray one of these people. The ending was great you know she had to spin somehow without giving her parents away without giving her family away or without straight up killing Bishop so that was just insanely crazy the ending I don't know what's going to happen I'm hope that Bishop is not gone for good that he's going to come out there and find her and they're going to wander out the world together and try to survive and stuff like that. I'm not too sure but I know that we have to wait till November to read this that's sucky yeah I don't.

There's not much else to talk about I don't think I don't I'm trying to keep this short review I just really enjoyed this book I love the I can't wait to read the rest of it whether which family's going to come into power whether the West Falls are going to get it back because they are just. Just did not like her dad and her sister like they are horrible and Ivy just I'm glad she did what she did at the end I would have done the same thing it just sucks that her dad didn't even care about his daughter he was just like you know you made your decision so peace out what a horrible dad that's horrible. I can't believe didn't say that earlier oh oh to you Dad anyway, that is all for me.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone today I'm here to review a book for you and that book is going to be the book of Ivy by Amy inal sorry if you cannot see it cuz it's super white and the lighting is horrible because it's reading sln anyway and Tangle teen sent me this book out of the blue and I wasn't planning on reading it and then I heard so many good things about it and then I read the back of it and I was like I need to read this right now and I devoured it and yeah we're just going to talk about it I'm going to keep this um somewhat spoiler-free I'll let you know if there's be spoilers in the end read you the back of the book and we will get on to it what you kill for after a brutal nuclear war the United States was left decimated a small group of survivors eventually banded together but only after more conflict over which family would govern the new nation the West Falls lost the 50 years later peace and control are maintained by marrying the daughters of the losing side to the sons of The Winning Side it's a yearly ritual this year it's my turn my name is Ivy westal and my mission is simple to kill the president's son my soon to be husband and return the westfall's name to power but Bishop Vladimir is either a very skilled after or he's not cruel the cruel heartless boy my family warned me to expect he might even be the person in this world who truly understands me but there is no Escape for my fate I'm the only one that can restore the West ball Legacy because Bishop must die and I must be the one to kill him does not not sound intriguing to you it's all about a girl that's has to kill her husband anyway this is a dystopian book and I highly liked it I really liked it in like 3 days which is unknown to me nowaday because I have a baby and breing what it's time for them but IED try to read as much as I can so we have I I is a Spitfire she is very determined about what she likes what she knows she knows that she has to do this huge task for her family and she's not happy about it and then we have Bishop Bishop is a very caring and very soft guy unlock his father the president of which iy knows so when Ivy and Bishop get married you know there's this huge wall Ivy puts up because she thinks that Bishop is a cruel heartless man that her father has always told him to be But as time goes on she learns that Bishop is just a really sweet guy and just looking up her best interest and quite honestly a kick butt husband so yeah so this whole book is dealing with the struggle of whether Ivy wants to kill bishop or not whether you know she wants to believe her family whether she wants to return her family to power whether you know they really deserve it and that if the president the president's sons are really that bad and learning all about that kind of stuff so can I talk about this these spoilers I don't know whole book had really good pacing and will say went by like super fast I thought I think it could have been
