ASUS ROG Strix Scar SE & ROG Flow X16 - The Most POWERFUL Gaming Laptops from ROG 🤯

The ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition has arrived in our hands, and we're excited to show you what makes it stand out from the regular Strix SCAR 17. This laptop is the most powerful gaming device from ROG, delivering exceptional performance that surpasses its counterpart.

Inside the box, you'll find the ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition, along with some additional goodies. There's a keychain for your convenience, two armor caps that can be easily switched, and if you're feeling crafty, you can get these caps 3D printed to customize them exactly as you like. A UV torch is also included, which looks eerily similar to a lightsaber.

Now, let's talk about the power supply unit. This is where things really get interesting. We've got a 330W power supply that's not only compact but also lightweight. In fact, it's 34% smaller and 27% lighter than its predecessor. One of the notable features of this power supply is its ability to support fast charging.

If you're eager to see some serious juice flow into your laptop, this 330W power supply delivers the goods in just 30 minutes. It goes from 0% to 50%, so you can get back to gaming or whatever it is you do without much interruption.

Now that we've covered what's inside the box and under the hood, let’s take a closer look at this ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition.

This laptop boasts an aluminum lid adorned with cyber-text accents that have invisible UV reactive ink. When exposed to the UV torch included in the package, these accents glow up, adding another layer of visual flair to what's already quite a stylish device.

If you open this thing up, you'll notice there's a transparent element on the base that looks really cool and gives off an air of sophistication. Now we move onto the heart of any high-performance laptop: its display.

This is where things get even more exciting. The ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Edition is rocking a 17-inch screen, with a configuration designed for gamers who demand nothing but the best. Whether you’re into Fortnite, League of Legends, or anything else that keeps your thumbs moving at top speed, this display should handle everything that comes its way.

And finally, we have the ROG logo here at the back, shining brightly like a beacon in the darkness. And as you lift the lid, you'll notice more details on the inside that set this apart from any ordinary laptop.

then we have this beautiful display. This is a 17\" displaywith three milliseconds responsetime with adaptive sync. And it's available in twooptions, full HD 360Hzor Quad-HD 240Hz.I also really like how thin the display isbut what we really need totalk about is the performance. So you can get thiswith up to the 12th GenIntel Core i9 HX Series, which has 16 cores, eight performance coresand eight efficiency coreswith a boost clock speed of up to 5.2 GHz.The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU,with a base TGP of 150Wthat's bumped up by about 20%and a max TGP of 175W.So ROG have used pretty muchthe maximum wattage availablefor the CPU and GPU.You've also got up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM,2x 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD in RAID 0.And we have ROG's intelligent coolingwith a very large vapor chamberwhich covers around48.8% of the motherboard. Now this is using secondgeneration liquid metaland temperatures are upto 15 degrees cooler. We also have nickel platingand all of this means thatnot only will you have cooler temperaturesin the short term, but also in the long term, many years on.For the battery, we do have a 90Wh batterywith the 330W power supplywhich is smaller and lighter, and supports fast charging. Now you also do have USBType-C charging, up to 100W.So if you're not going tobe using the power supply, say for example, if you're on a plane, you're still going to beable to get 100 watts, which is pretty good. And for the keyboard, we do haveper-key RGB lighting with aroundtwo millimeters of travel. And the surface temperature is also lowercompared to otherequivalent gaming laptops.Right, now for the ports,we do have the Keystoneon the right-hand side, this will allow you to apply thingslike lighting effects andsound effects customized to youand allow you to quicklyjust slot this in.On the left-hand sidewe do have two full size USB Type-A portsas well as the audio combo jack. And then at the back, wehave the Thunderbolt 4 portswith display port supports,a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports,an HDMI 2.1 port,a 2.5G LAN RJ45 jack,as well as your power-in.So if you are after a fullymaxed out gaming laptopthen the ROG Strix SCAR 17 Special Editionmay just be the one for you.But if you're somebodywho wants something that's abit more flexible and compactbut still does pack a punch, then you might want tocheck out the ROG Flow X16.So the ROG Flow X16gives you a larger version of the X13,which allows for not only a larger displaybut for additional performance. So inside the box, aswell as the ROG Flow X16,you do get a piece ofcard, which you can fold upand use as a bit of abase to tilt up the X16.There's also some paperwork,as well as a power supply and some cables. Now with this power supplyyou can get fast charging,so 0% to 50% in just 30 minutes. And here it is.Now this is very compactespecially for somethingwith a 16\" display. It's just around 2kg in weightand just 19.4 millimeters thin. And we've got this reallynice sand blasted finishwhich does give it some more grip.Right, now let's go ahead andtake a look at this display. This is a 16\" Gorilla Glass 3 touch screenwith Quad-HD resolution,165Hz refresh rate, three milliseconds response time,100% DCI-P Pantone validated,a 16x10 aspect ratioso you've got some morevertical real estate. And this is also availablewith a Mini LED option. This will give you ROG's Nebula HDRwith up to 1,100 nits of peak brightness. Now, not only is this the touchscreen, but you also do have pensupport on this displayand that becomes even moreuseful considering the factthat we've got a full 360 hinge. So we can just go aheadand fold it back on itselfand use it in tablet mode. And when you are in tablet mode, then using the penis going to make thisso much more versatile. So in your day to day, if youwant to use this in laptop mode, you're going to be ableto do that just fine. You can use this in tablet mode. And if you want to watcha movie or even gamethen you can just prop it up like this, maybe use a controller andsee this at a distance. This is very, very flexible. Now compared to the X13,having this larger sizedoes allow for some increased performance. So you can get thiswith up to the AMDRyzen 6900HS Series CPU,the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPUwith max TGP of 125W,MUX Switch,64GB of DDR5 RAMand two PCIe Gen 4x4 SSD slots. You've also got Frost ForceTechnology with Pulsar Heatsink, which allows precise airflowwith its ultra dense fansto direct air towards GPU.Now if you want to increasethe performance even furtheror maybe you want to gowith the base 3050 Ti model, then this is compatible with XG Mobile. So you'll be able to connectthe X Mobile, external GPU,which is around 1.2kgs.And that will give you up toan AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT,with an integrated 330Wadapter and increased I/O.Now if you do go for the 3070 Ti modelthis might be something thatyou just have as an option, maybe to future-proof this. But if you do decide to go forthe more affordable 3050 Ti,or even the 3060 Tiwhich will be more thanenough for your day to day, when you do want to plug inand fully take advantage of gaming, then it's great to havethe XG Mobile support. Now we do have the samespeakers as the G15as well as the M16.They're loud and crisp. And for the ports,on the right-hand side we dohave two full size USB-A portsas well as a MicroSD card slot. And on the left-handside we have the DC-in,we have an HDMI port,a USB Type-C port, the XG Mobile port, whichalso has a USB Type-C portso if you're not going to beconnecting this to a XG Mobile, then you can still usethat USB Type-C port.As well as an audio combo jack. We've got a 90Wh battery includedwhich does support fast charging. So you can get 0% to 50% in 30 minutes. And I think the X16 is agreat, flexible option.Something that you canuse in your day to day,but also has capabilities to game. And with the 360 mechanismit just allows you to also usethis as a tablet if needed. So that is the ROG StrixSCAR 17 Special Editionas well as the ROG Flow X16.We've got something foreveryone if you're a gamer here. What do you guys think of these?Which one would you go for?Do drop me a comment below, let me know your thoughts. If you're interested in
