Grilled Chicken Salad with Tater Tot Croutons

**The Art of Creating the Perfect Salad**

If you like the seeds, do whatever you want but this gives you the best crunch I think. Oh, I had so yummy all right, we're gonna go on with our cucumbers. I like to put the purple onion in between the cucumber in the lettuce cuz it helps you actually see the cucumber's a little bit better but you can layer your salad any way you like. Well, you could leave out anything you like if you don't want onions leave them out doesn't matter it's all good.

And now we're gonna go with cherry tomatoes just gonna you could also put regular Tomatoes doesn't matter but heirloom tomatoes you could put yellow cherry tomatoes mix up the colors really use whatever you have. This is what I had in my fridge today so this is what we're working with just layer those. I really do also like to take like the few seconds to arrange my salad because I don't know, I just think there's something nice about presenting a nice dinner to your family.

I know for me, for sure when I take the two seconds instead of just like throwing everything on my kids are more excited to eat it. Because they see when I make a meal for my husband, I played it properly. I do a nice and I just think it makes the whole meal more appealing to them. And it really does make dinner run smoothly.

Now that it runs smoothly every night, don't think that's not what happens okay, there we go now, I'm going to layer on my grilled chicken ah, does this salad not look amazing? A bright burst of freshness, yumminess, I love salad! It's like one of my favorite things. I would say the worst thing about salad though is making them. Like if somebody could come to my house every day and chop up all the vegetables in arrange it like this for me, I would eat salad all day long.

But that salad is worth it because it's a one-dish meal everything you need isn't it? You have the vegetables, you have the protein, and the chicken. And then we're gonna top it with croutons which are a carb, and it's gonna be amazing. Let's just layer up your chicken get that on there. Oh my gosh, I could eat this whole plate myself.

This is like exactly the kind of food I would want to eat yum yum yum yum. And last but not least our croutons, I'm gonna go take them out of the oven and I will be right back okay. Mike, roots hats are done they are crispy, they smell garlicky, and parsley-ish. Oh, and they are crispy, can you hear that? Yeah, I know you guys could hear that.

It looks so pretty across you're not fooling your so bigger but don't do this without me, you're gonna get a little bit of everything on the plate. We got some salad we got to fruit times we got some chicken let's just break this off get a piece of lettuce some cucumbers some onion the Tater Tot, a piece of chicken second it's falling off like it's too much, a one pork okay.

feels too far in for me mix that up really good she's gonna add a little bit more garlic come on tons of flavor in here I got my handy-dandy pissed pshhh pshhh pastry brush here I don't know why that feels like a tongue twister even though it's not the same letters and then we're just gonna brush them get them really good and coated we want these to be garlicky we want them to be parsley we want them to be crispy II okay so just keep brushing and brushing and brush it in alright here we go Maggie's back hey mags hey you wanna help me yeah okay come come on one two three yeah we're making croutons for our salad you want you and eat a lid for dinner yeah they're yummy did you say hi to everybody hi hi everybody you want to do it there you go good job this one this one over here brush brush brush let's get a little more brush brush brush and there we go what's all of your crew tats are fully coated in the party do you want more we have to cook it first let's go put it in the oven we're just gonna pop this in a 200 degree oven for a few minutes so they're nice and crispy and crouton like on the outside we will be right back then we're gonna move on to the salad part of this I'm just gonna get this out of the way make fun babe there we go and let's make the salad dressing so here we go I've got another jar I just like to make these things in jars cuz they're easy to store and plus when you shake it up it actually stays closed I don't know did you guys ever try to mix a salad dressing and like one of those cheap plastic tougher words and you mix it and all the sudden starts leaking down the sides I don't know why those things don't seal properly but I guess that's why they're so cheap okay so we're gonna go in with a good amount of garlic be generous cuz it's a garlic lemon dressing we're gonna squeeze in our lemon there we go I'm just keeping my fingertips closed and that's catching all the seeds but it's the letting the juice go right through this is the easiest way to do it also if you want to spill it all over your cutting board an extra good for you to do it but really if you use a bigger jar or Bowl it will all go in okay there we go at the lemming rate and now you can add Dijon mustard into this you can add really anything you want you could add some red wine vinegar you could swap out the lemon for vinegar completely go with whatever you want this is just the easiest dressing I know garlic lemon juice olive oil salt pepper and it's fresh it's delicious the flavors of everything else can be in there and it's super yummy okay so actually I think I'm gonna add one more lemon into here got one for my lemon basket and we're just gonna before I cut it I'm just gonna stuff in it you could see it's like very hard this lemon and it's gonna be hard to juice but if you really press down on it really hard all of your body weight you could feel it sort of like collapsing under you and you could feel the juices flowing now it's nice and soft it's gonna be easier to juice she's gonna cut this in half there we go I'm happening so easily it was such a hard lemon I really thought not so much juice was gonna coming up I think there are other tricks out there like some people say you can put it in the microwave for 10 seconds that's a good trick some people just buy it already juiced that's the easiest trick out there but it's not fresh lemon so you know you want some of you lose them alrighty the last of the lemon and now here's the rule of thumb of vinaigrette this is acid lemon is acidic vinegar is acidic yeah those are your basic acids and we want to balance this out with oil so you want one part acid to two parts oil what does that mean we want to put double the amounts of oil that we put lemon juice I'm just gonna add in my oil and it's pretty easy to see because they separate fill that up now I'm gonna season it up with a good amount of salt I've got a really balance out that lemon and the salt is gonna cut right through the acidity of that some pepper salt and lemon all over my hands that's literally the worst combination since I've cuts all over there you go the most simple easy yummiest freshest vinaigrette delicious could not be easier just gonna cut up my chicken here I have a very simple grilled chicken olive oil fresh crushed garlic salt and pepper that's it nothing else we're keeping the flavors of this salad super simple super clean just gonna go in on an angle slice it up into strips and we're gonna top that on our salad it's gonna be so so sylia okay let's get these strips back on the plate
