**Testing the Structural Integrity of the iPad Pro 9.7 Inch Display**
The iPad Pro 9.7 inch display is known to be prone to damage from impact, particularly rear impacts. In this article, we put the device through various tests to see how well it holds up to different types of stress.
Upon initial inspection, the display appears to be in good condition, with only a small scuff on the corner of the screen. However, as we proceed with the testing, it becomes clear that the display is more fragile than expected. A rear impact causes the display to jut out slightly, indicating that it may be brittle.
To test the structural integrity of the device further, we drop the iPad Pro from a height of 3 feet onto a flat surface. The impact is surprisingly even, and the device lands perfectly flat without sustaining any major damage. However, as we continue testing, it becomes apparent that the display is more prone to cracking than expected.
We then test the device face down at chest height, where many users will be using it. This drop causes a small bend in the shell of the device, and upon closer inspection, it's clear that the display has cracked. The extent of the damage is surprising, considering how well the device held up to the initial impact.
The final test involves testing the structural integrity of the metal reader shell. As expected, this part of the device is more prone to bending than others. However, what's astonishing is how easily it bends - almost as if the display itself has compromised the strength of the shell.
**Testing the Display**
Throughout the testing process, we noticed some issues with the touch display. The screen would flicker and occasionally go unresponsive, particularly when using gestures or interacting with apps. We stopped this test before proceeding to avoid further damage.
**Conclusion**
The iPad Pro 9.7 inch display is more fragile than expected, with a tendency towards cracking from impact, particularly rear impacts. The shell of the device is surprisingly bendable, even with a broken display. While the device holds up well in some tests, such as drops from 3 feet onto a flat surface, it fails miserably when subjected to other types of stress.
For those who value their iPad Pro and want to avoid this type of damage, we strongly recommend investing in a case or cover that provides additional protection. Our testing has shown that even the sturdiest devices can be compromised by unexpected impacts, highlighting the importance of taking care with electronic devices.
**Recommendation**
If you're considering purchasing an iPad Pro 9.7 inch, make sure to buy one with a strong case and take steps to protect it from damage. The risk of cracking or bending the display is higher than expected, and we wouldn't recommend subjecting this device to unnecessary stress.
We hope that our testing has provided valuable insights into the structural integrity of the iPad Pro 9.7 inch display, and we appreciate your attention to this important topic. For more content like this, please check out our other videos, including our iPhone SE review series.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys everything Apple Pro here and I've got the new iPad pro 9.7 inch Edition Apple's taken everything they've learned with the larger iPad pro 12.9 Edition and stuffed it into a smaller frame this thing is basically the iPad air 3 so in this video I want to test the durability yeah this thing has a lot of nice features new for speaker audio setup Apple pencil support true tone display and all the good stuff with it but how's the durability most people don't tend to drop their iPads in this video I will though because I want to test the durability and how the materials have changed maybe from the older iPad is this thing any more durable so we're going to go ahead and test the drop and at the end the actual structural integrity of the show so let's go ahead and drop the new iPad pro nine point seven inch this thing is really really beautiful in the rose gold and it hurts me to do this I absolutely love the new LTE bands you know in all areas this thing has been refined except for that camera bump maybe we can flatten it with a drop but in any case it's a beautiful device I do want to test the durability though shame on you if you don't use a case with yours these things deserve a case man you got to protect them they're not very cheap so let's go ahead and do about a three-foot drop so you know we don't really carry it around very high I think this makes a lot of sense at three feet so let's test the durability on a side-impact three feet and three to one a nice little jump there otherwise it seems okay so as far as I know the material here isn't the same as the iPhone 6s it's not as durable as we can see there is a dent there the screen is jutting out already Wow that's where the entire impact went okay otherwise still working display is good looks good so let's do a rear impact probably the most common one on the iPads that was the iPad pro 2.9 editions point of failure so I'm a little nervous here so rear impacts probably likely my break the Apple pencil display adds an extra layer to the display possibly making it more brittle three two one okay no apparent damage some scuffing right here it's not as scratch-resistant as the iPhone 6's material no apparent Bend yet but this corner is jutting out just a little bit from the impact here and I could feel the indent okay let's do face it down at three feet all right dropping in three two one oh man that distributed the shock evenly hey it landed perfectly flat alright so there's that now most of us won't be dropping it for much higher but I will just to see the stress this thing can go through before breaking let's go to about chest height where a lot of people will also be using it at that height a lot of us use our iPads while standing as well to read from about this height a chest height so side impact chest height say maybe or four and a half feet and three two one whoo acrobatics here oh wow no cracks yet there is a scuff right there so it didn't actually Bend in which I'm surprised about it's still looking pretty good and you're working your true tone display matching it to the ambience this entire time technology all right so a rear impact in three two one whoo-hoo okay oh man the displays on Rizzo had a little glitch he was unresponsive for a moment click the home button and it started working otherwise not bad not bad so I'm very very surprised let's do the face down and I'm not really going to go beyond that because there's really no point no one's going to be going up to ten 20 feet to drop their device but while I am having some touch display issues now so stopped working again ok that's working the display is intermittent at this point works doesn't work let's do the face down and I am starting to notice a little bend Wow so it's caving in right here there definitely is a little bend even if it's a little hard to see so Wow definitely don't drop this thing alright so while this thing really is bent now definitely see it more face down chest height dropping in three two one ouch hopefully this bent it out hope the display did it break oh that's it so took about a chest height face down to go ahead and crack the iPad pro nine point seven inch display still works and it did straighten itself out so hey silver lining here alright so with the display broken let's go ahead and test the structural integrity with a quick been test I want to see how simple it is to bend the shell as we can see didn't take much at all to do it with you know gravity I want to see if I can bend this and let's go ahead and try that I know the display is broken but just for kicks let's try it out alright so at this point in time the display is broken but ask for the metal reader shell I want to test that and see how bendable it is like I said it is already a little bit bent let's see if we can nudge that along a little bit further and obviously it's not going to do as good with a broken display but I want to see if it's possible at all alright let's see what's on the inside of this iPad right three two one oh my gosh this literally bends like butter oh my goodness I'm literally not exerting any energy into doing this I'm just folding this and it's folding like butter could be because the display is broken oh my gosh that is crazy this connector right here believe it or not makes this weaker this is the point of failure just right here that's just crazy you know my mind is blown how easily I just bent that with my hands if you guys are worried about this happening in day-to-day life I wouldn't be really we just beat the crap out of this iPad so of course it's going to be easier to bend but hey just can't believe how easy that was really man be careful buy a case for this thing I would highly recommend it so guys there you go that is the new iPad pro for your sake for my sake use a case please don't repeat this project at home wouldn't be worth it so thanks so much for watching guys I had
