LG L90 Review - The almost ideal mid range Android Phone

The LG L90 is a smartphone that boasts several impressive features, including a sleek design and advanced camera capabilities. One of the standout features of this device is its unique "knock-on" feature, which allows users to control their phone without having to physically press the power button. This feature is achieved by double-tapping on any empty area of the screen, effectively turning off the phone or locking it for security purposes. The user can also configure multiple locking methods, including traditional PIN codes and pattern recognition.

Another notable feature of the LG L90 is its Quick Remote function, which enables users to control devices such as TVs, DVD players, and Blu-ray players with ease. The user can quickly access this function from the phone's home screen, making it a convenient option for those who want to control their living room entertainment system without getting up. The device also features a 3D effect when slowly moving the camera, which is a nice touch.

The LG L90 also boasts impressive performance capabilities, including an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and the ability to record video in 1080p. While the camera's quality may be average indoors, it performs well outdoors in natural lighting conditions. The phone itself has an 8-hour battery life, making it a great option for those who want a device that can keep up with their daily needs.

In terms of design, the LG L90 features a sleek and slim profile, but it lacks some notable features such as a physical LED notification light and backlit capacitive buttons at the bottom. The phone does not have USB OTG support, which may be a drawback for those who want to connect external storage devices or accessories.

Overall, the LG L90 is a solid Android smartphone that offers impressive performance capabilities and unique features like the "knock-on" function. While it may lack some notable features, such as a physical LED notification light and USB OTG support, its sleek design and advanced camera capabilities make it a great option for those in the market for a new phone.

One of the key areas where the LG L90 excels is in its gaming performance. The device was able to play most games without any issues, including heavy titles like Asphalt 8. This is particularly impressive given that many smartphones struggle with heat management when playing demanding games. In the author's two weeks of usage, they never experienced any overheating issues with the LG L90.

The phone also features a multi-touch screen, which was able to register up to eight touch points at once. While this may not seem like a major difference, it's still a notable feature that can make for more intuitive and interactive experiences.

For those interested in the camera capabilities of the LG L90, the author has created a dedicated video review that provides further details on its performance and features. The camera is equipped with an 8-megapixel sensor and can record video in 1080p, making it suitable for capturing high-quality footage.

In conclusion, the LG L90 is a solid Android smartphone that offers impressive performance capabilities, unique features like the "knock-on" function, and advanced camera capabilities. While it may lack some notable features, such as a physical LED notification light and USB OTG support, its sleek design and gaming performance make it a great option for those in the market for a new phone.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is ranjit and i have this lg l90 with me which is a mid-range android phone and this is the dual sim version i've already done the unboxing and also made a gaming review of this links for those videos will be in the youtube show notes and i would say it's a pretty decent mid-range android phone considering the specs and before we proceed let's uh talk about the pricing the price coded on the box is 19 000 but i've seen this unit in online stores and other stores i like flipkart etc for around 16 to 16 500 i'll have the link for flipkart in the show notes and regarding this phone it sports a 4.8 inch screen which is ips great screen and if you see the viewing angles are pretty good and the best thing about this phone is though it has a 4.7 inch screen the phone is then also very comfortable to hold it's not very bulky for example notice this this is the xperia m2 which has a 4.8 inch screen this has 4.7 but do note that how big this expedia m2 is uh it's very big and i would say it's not very comfortable to hold in a single hand but this uh lg l90 is a little bit comfortable to hold in a single hand now moving towards the back it has a 8 megapixel camera with the led flash and i would say the camera performs decently i've already made a dedicated video regarding the camera performance and this is kind of textured back and though it not does not look that great i would say but it does provide a pretty good grip on the phone and this back cover can be opened let me open it up you just pry it open and that gives you access to the battery the battery is a 2540 milliamp hour battery and i did all my testing with a single sim i've been using this phone for around two weeks now we also have a micro sd card slot and in terms of battery life i would say the battery life was very good comparing it with other phones for example i always said that the moto g's battery life was very good and this lg l90s battery is slightly better than the moto g so in terms of battery life i have no issues with this phone again this is plastics nothing special and this is the speaker the speaker is adequately loud i'll talk about the speaker a bit later and it snaps into place uh regarding the front facing camera here lg skimmed out it's a standard vga camera and this is the custom lg skin it's actually very fluid to operate and in terms of the processing power it's very similar to moto g xperia m2 and or even the grand 2 the internals are same compared to those phones that is the snapdragon 400 processor that's a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2 gigahertz and regarding the gpu it's arduino 305. ram is one gig and i would say the phone performed very well in my two weeks of usage i hardly noticed any lag whatsoever on this phone so lg did a very good job of optimizing uh this ui and it works very well again the ui is a little bit different if you are coming from other phones we do have this quick toggles over here and we also have this q slide apps these are like small apps you can do kind of multitasking with it for example let me show you if i open this internet thing and you can do whatever is there in the back you can open an app etc and now you can also use this and do the browsing you can also change the transparency etc with this one i like this as you can see so yes it provides this sort of multitasking thing you can hide this if you want and this is also customizable so there is a lot of customization that is provided in this ui and the ui as i told you will look a little bit different but it does have everything that you need to control the device uh now moving towards the screen as i said it's a 4.8 inch screen it's ips grade screen another thing where lg skimmed is if you notice we do not have any auto brightness sensors so manually need to adjust the brightness out of the box also this phone comes with the latest version of android at the time of shooting this video uh if you go to common and if you go to software info as you can see it's running the android version uh 4.4.2 that is kitkat so that is also pretty good now regarding storage you get about 8 gb of storage but out of that you just get about 4.2 odd gp but the good thing is that as i mentioned this phone does support a micro sd card slot and i added a 8gb sd card and i was able to move some of the apps and games to the sd card uh if you want to know more about that check out my gaming review in which i showed you uh how you can move some of the apps again do not only some of the apps might be moving not every app can be moved so yes we do have the uh micro sd card storage so storage should not be a huge issue with this device now coming to the call quality the call quality i would say from the earpiece was very loud and clear one thing i do not like is that though these are touch type capacitive buttons at the bottom that is back home this is your menu and this is for changing between sim 1 and sim 2 as it's a dual sim device one thing i don't like and if you notice these are not backlit so at night you just simply cannot see it yeah you will get used to it after a week or so but when you're initially using the phone at night the first few days it will be a little bit difficult because these just simply do not light up and i feel lg uh skimp on these features here and thus provide you haptic feedback though so whenever you have pressed it you do get a sort of haptic feedback and now let's move to web browsing and lg provided two browsers one is custom lg browser and other is the chrome browser and let's just go to our website that is tech2bus.com and this is the standard keyboard it's pretty comfortable to type and let's go to tech2bus.com now and as you can see it's loading the the websites pretty quickly regarding the performance as i told you i did not have any issues with the performance the phone performed actually pretty nice for uh the price to performance ratio and let's just open one of the stories let's open this lg g2 story let me change the orientation and we have a youtube video so let's try to play that back and let me maximize the volume hi there this is ranjit and in this video we're going to do the full review for this ng g2 android phone which is a flashlight they're pretty decent and actually the speaker is pretty loud and actually it's a lot better than many of the phone the speaker is pretty loud and clear but at max volume sometimes i did feel that it crackles a little bit uh let me also show you the speaker phone let's dial one number this is the standard dialer that you get uh we do not have 3g video calling on this one and let's dial and i'll put it to speakerphone now as you can see on max it crackles a little bit so don't keep it on max then it's pretty clear and again in the ui also it's pretty good you do get this 3d effect if you slowly move and as i told you earlier uh it works actually very well this phone actually has some two unique features one is this quick remote using which you can control devices like television dvd players and blu-ray players and i configured it for my samsung television and i was able to operate it and also you can quickly access it from here so it works actually pretty well another unique feature is that it has that knock-on feature uh you don't have to physically press this power button to lock or unlock this device for example if you just double tap on any empty area it switches off the phone and we also have a security lock not the traditional one we can we also have traditional options obviously but you also have a pattern thing for example i enabled if i double tap here and a single tap over here here it will unlock let me do that double tap single tap and as you can see it works so it's actually pretty nice the features that lg has provided are pretty good and this i love this knockon feature it's a pretty practical feature you don't have to hunt for the power button so that works pretty nice now coming to other features lg also did not skimp on a lot of features for example uh multi-touch points it was very strange i was able to register eight multi-touch points not ten eight i expected five with this sort of a device but i get eight multi touch points so that's nice also the compass app actually works pretty well uh no issues as you can see it works pretty well and also regarding gaming there also i had some actually pretty decent experience and as you can see i've played all these games i actually made a dedicated video regarding the gaming you can check out that for more info and i would say it could play most of the games without any issues and even heavy games like asphalt 8 were playable on this lg l90 another good thing is that many of these devices when you're playing heavy game tend to heat up too much but that was not the case with this lg l90 and in my two weeks of usage i never faced issues of any over healing with this lg l90 uh now coming to the camera as i mentioned the red facing camera is eight megapixel shooter with led flash and it can also record video up to 1080p and i would say outdoors in natural lighting uh the camera quality is actually pretty good and it takes actually very good shots and but indoors when you move in then the deficiency of this camera is evident in those i would say the camera quality is very average-ish uh i've already made a dedicated video regarding the camera performance and the various features so if you're interested in that check out that video one thing i did notice is that lg has skimmed on one more feature that is usb otg support is simply not available on this device so that's a little bit of a con but overall i would say in terms of performance the phone performed very well and i had no issues as i told you i did not face any issues of lagginess and the phone was pretty responsive and also in terms of battery life the battery life that i was getting on this phone was very good so what do i feel about this lg l90 it's actually a pretty good device by lg uh considering the price point of this phone and india it's selling for around 16 000 or so and regarding the performance as i mentioned it performs very well now let me talk about some of the cons with this device and it does not have any physical led notification light on the device uh also as i mentioned earlier we have these touch type capacitive buttons at the bottom but that also are not not backlit so that can be issue at night for some people also it does not have any usb otg support and the last thing is that it does not have a auto brightness sensor but apart from this i would say it does have some other features like that knock-on code and also a remote control functionality so if you're not bothered about the minor cons that i mentioned earlier and if you are okay with the design of this device have a serious look at this lg l90 overall i would say it's a very good android phone but again it's not a perfect android phone i'll also be doing a full in-depth review for this xperia m2 very soon so stay tuned to my channel thank you for watching this video if you uh feel that this video was helpful i'll appreciate if you can click the like button and also share this video with your friends thank you for watching this is ranjit and i hope to see you in my next videohi there this is ranjit and i have this lg l90 with me which is a mid-range android phone and this is the dual sim version i've already done the unboxing and also made a gaming review of
