**The Dark Lord's Throne: A Review of the NZXT Capsule Microphone**

In the land of Mordor, where the shadows lie, three rings for the oven kings under the sky seven for the dwarf lords in their halls of stone nine for the mortal men doomed to die one for the dark lord on his dark throne. These ominous words echo through the valley, foretelling a tale of sound and silence. And at the heart of this legend lies the NZXT Capsule Microphone.

This microphone is not just any ordinary tool of the trade; it is a vessel for the voice of the Dark Lord himself. With its sleek design and minimalistic approach, it is the perfect instrument for those who seek to unleash their inner darkness upon the world. The NZXT Capsule is an extension of this dark lord's power, a symbol of the unyielding commitment to quality that only the most dedicated followers of the dark arts can muster.

But what makes this microphone truly special? It starts with its exceptional sound quality, rivaling some of the finest USB microphones on the market. With clear and crisp audio, the NZXT Capsule is perfect for capturing every nuance of your voice, whether you're narrating a dark fantasy epic or simply speaking into it to summon an army of digital minions. But that's not all - this microphone also boasts impressive noise rejection capabilities, allowing you to focus on the task at hand without distraction.

And yet, as with any tool of power, there are those who would seek to undermine its authority. The WavelinK software provided with the NZXT Capsule is a case in point. While it offers many features that make it an attractive option for streamers and content creators, including multiple audio track separation and advanced noise reduction algorithms, it can also be daunting to master. For those who prefer a simpler approach, however, the NZXT Capsule's ease of use is a major selling point.

But don't just take our word for it - let's hear from some of the streaming community's most prominent voices. "I was blown away by the sound quality and value for money that the NZXT Capsule offers," says one popular streamer. "It's perfect for my gaming setup, but I can also see it being used in more traditional settings like podcasts or voiceovers." Another reviewer notes that while the microphone is great, it's not without its quirks - particularly when it comes to EQ and compression. However, even this minor quibble does little to detract from our overall enthusiasm for this remarkable device.

**The NZXT Capsule vs. Other Microphones: A Tale of Two Worlds**

So how does the NZXT Capsule stack up against some of its more established rivals? To answer this question, let us journey into a world where microphones are as varied and wondrous as the stars in the night sky.

One such microphone is the Elgato Wave 3, a worthy opponent to the NZXT Capsule's throne. With its advanced features and sleek design, it's clear that the Wave 3 is built for professionals - or at least those who aspire to be. But does it have what it takes to dethrone the NZXT Capsule? According to our tests, the answer is a resounding maybe.

While the Wave 3 excels in certain areas, such as its ability to accurately capture even the most nuanced vocal inflections, it falls short when it comes to raw power and sheer audio quality. The NZXT Capsule, on the other hand, shines like a beacon in the darkness, outpacing its competitors by a considerable margin.

Another contender for the throne is the WavelinK software itself. While not technically a microphone, this powerful tool has a significant impact on our listening experience. With features like multiple audio track separation and advanced noise reduction algorithms, it's clear that WavelinK is designed to help content creators reach new heights of quality. However, as we noted earlier, mastering its complex interface can be daunting.

And now, dear reader, comes the moment of truth - will you receive the coveted Stream Professor Approved badge? To earn this distinction, your microphone must demonstrate exceptional sound quality, ease of use, and a commitment to excellence that is simply unmatched by its competitors.

While the NZXT Capsule has earned our seal of approval, we can't help but feel that it's just barely out of range for this prestigious honor. If only it could be had for $99 or less, we'd be shouting its praises from the rooftops. good audio specs wise we're looking at a 25 millimeter cardioid condenser capsule 24 bit 96 kilohertz audio a 20 hertz to 20 kilohertz frequency response real-time monitoring via the headphone jack usb c connectivity and a super lightweight design without the stand this thing weighs less than a pound this is fantastic for staying out of your way and letting you get away with the cheapo amazon mic arm if you wish though keep in mind the rode psa1 specifically will have trouble with such a lightweight microphone i think this mic poses a perfect option for super casual streamers and people who just want better audio for discord or other voice calling in game chat etc this might sound like a silly use case to some but i have people reach out all the time who just want a basic audio upgrade from headset mics and to be more tolerable for in-game comms this is probably it there are obviously many options but this one is pretty straightforward and has the least amount of learning curve of pretty much all of the options while still looking super minimal with white or black options using this mic is easy peasy plug it into your computer plug in your headphones into the headphone jack set windows or mac os to use the audio for your headphone output device and set your voice calling app to use the microphone as well and in fact switching these devices may not even be required as a step since this is usually done automatically when you plug in a new audio device anyway you have two dials on the front a headphone volume knob and a gain dial for the mic it's set to 50 by default but you can tweak it to your liking press the knob in to mute and unmute your mic that's it before we get any further i did want to note that most of this review was recorded with the microphone on its microphone stand that they include kind of how they intend to use it at least on the base level and propped up so that it's a little closer to my mouth however as my previous guide linked below on getting the best quality out of your microphone explained you will get better results by bringing it closer to your mouth and reducing the gain as i have here it is like an inch away from my mouth at this point just angled to avoid plosives this will produce a little bit better sound reduce that kind of boxy sound that you're hearing of reflections off of my microphone but does require you to invest in a microphone arm and get it close and in your face and things like that which i would think that potential buyers of this for specifically game usage and the like may not want to do just because that impedes on their setup a little bit more but if you're after the best quality for streaming and the like this probably sounds a little bit better than most of the audio through the video but i wanted to provide both use cases because most people are going to buy this thing and set it on their desks to start so that's where most the video is framed as well as the comparisons
