Spring Cleaning: A Journey Through My Home

As I begin my spring cleaning journey, I find myself surrounded by dust and dirt that has accumulated over the past few months. The first task at hand is to vacuum the window baseboards in this living room. These little crown molding things, or plaques, as I like to call them, cover up the ugly part of the curtains where you can see the bracket or whatever, and they give my blinds a lovely crown molding effect.

I've been meaning to put these back on for ages, but somehow they always seem to get pushed to the bottom of my to-do list. As I work on this task, I realize that spring cleaning isn't just about tidying up, it's also about repairing and maintaining our homes. In addition to vacuuming, I'll be doing a bit of repair work throughout the house. It's amazing how something as simple as a broken light switch or a torn curtain can really bring down the whole atmosphere of a room.

Decluttering is another essential part of spring cleaning, and I've already started tackling that in my master bathroom. I've been slowly decluttering my home over the past few months, but it's amazing how quickly things can accumulate again. In this video, I'm sharing my process for getting rid of old documents and important paperwork that needs to be shredded. It's not just about throwing away old receipts or bills, it's also about protecting ourselves from identity theft.

Of course, no spring cleaning would be complete without a deep clean of the house. One task that never ceases to amaze me is the state of my upstairs game room vent. I install a new air filter every three months because mine last for that long, and let me tell you, it was time for a change. My daughter has been helping out with her cleaning tasks, including bringing down her laundry and vacuuming up all the dust that fell off the furniture.

As I make my way to the black and gold room, which hasn't been showcased in ages, I'm excited to share its makeover story with you. Although I won a video on decorating this room in my last house, I've kept it intact as part of my home's charm. This room is perfect for film production or movie nights, and I'm eager to show you how it can be used.

In the final stages of my spring cleaning journey, I'll be tackling the windows. Not just a simple clean with some glass cleaner, but also washing the outside to remove dirt and grime that has accumulated over time. Although I should have done a pre-washing method first, I decided to go ahead with the glass cleaner anyway.

As the dust settles, I'm left with a sense of accomplishment and motivation to keep going. Spring cleaning may not be the most glamorous task, but it's essential for maintaining our homes and our sanity. Don't be afraid to take on this task yourself – make it a weekly thing or put on some tunes and get started. And remember, it's okay if you can't hit everything off in one day; just enjoy the process and take pride in your hard work.

feel motivated to do some spring cleaning so spring cleaning to me means so much it means doing the stuff that I do on an everyday basis for cleaning but it also means going a little step further and doing things that I don't normally clean or even things that I just four completely forget about so you saw that I always start cleaning with a dance session I honestly don't know what's wrong with me but I guess it wouldn't be crafty girl without me acting a fool so the very first thing that I knew I wanted to tackle right off the bat was my kitchen because my kitchen was disgusting it had been raining for weeks upon weeks and I just don't bother mopping during raining season because or during when it's like raining every day back-to-back because my dog comes in and gets the floor wet and I'm just gonna be way too exhausted to mop every single day I just don't have that kind of time so it was finally sunny and I knew okay this is my moment I need to go ahead and mop so I'm basically prepping the kitchen for that and then of course I have to vacuum first I have to get up all of the dog hair so that's one of the biggest things I do for spring cleaning is I vacuum a lot and sometimes even twice so this video is actually me cleaning over the course of three to four days just because I can't do everything in one single day spring cleaning is something that I feel like should take some time but you should also be doing it you know a little bit every single day if possible so that you like it takes you about a week to kind of get your whole house done make a checklist do what you need to do check it off so that you know you're getting every little thing done that you want to get done so in some previous videos in my vlogs I already did a little bit of spring cleaning things that you're not gonna see in this video like I cleaned out my freezer I got rid of food that was in there that I hadn't even touched in over a year and I also cleaned out my garage so those two things are part of my spring cleaning and this video is just part one so I hope you enjoy it because there's gonna be a part two so stay tuned for that but again back to my kitchen so you're gonna see here that I started cleaning the kitchen table now we don't normally eat at the kitchen table but it's amazing how disgusting and dusty and dirty that it was like it's just bizarre that even though that it's something that you don't use it still gets dirty especially when you have a pet so I made sure this time to remove all of the chairs so that I could vacuum underneath because my dog likes to get underneath there and then the window sills were so bad there were dead flies there was dog hair there was dust so I took my time really to get it all vacuumed up I used this all-purpose amazing cleaner I think I got it home goods or t.j.maxx and it came out so and span now in the video it looks clean but I assure you it was not clean whatsoever so I really loved how it turned out any time that my kitchen or my kitchen tables ever in a video I always get asked the question on my table runner and if I made it myself which I did I actually used a burlap what do you call it like a burlap runner and then I bought some burlap ribbon that had like the wire edging in it and so I just formed that ribbon into a bow and secured it to the ends of the runner now the runner used to like stick out of the little chairs but I didn't like that so I ended up just pulling them up what you're gonna see here and I thought it was actually really cute the way that like the the table runner ended up looking after my little miniature adjustment and the reason why I did this is because my daughter's friends always like to sit on the in chairs and so it always messes with the bow because it gets in the way so I thought forget it I'm just gonna pull up the tails and I thought it turned out really cute now the biggest thing that you're gonna see here in my kitchen that I was so happy I tackled was cleaning the cabinets now I wanted to show you guys a clip of what how dirty it actually is because sometimes you can't really see how dirty things are I'm not cleaning an already clean house trust me it's disgusting so my house is tidy but it's not clean there is a difference between tidy and clean here so anyway I wanted you guys to see how bad the cabinet's were and so I again I use this all-purpose cleaner and you guys it turned out so beautiful I was so happy with this I'm hoping I can do this once a month instead of like something that's once a year just because again I have a pet and when you have a pet unfortunately you should be doing a spring cleaning type of you know situation monthly really escape now I recently just did a video on a decorate with me for spring so go check that I'll only get at the end of this video and in the description box below so that you can see all of this decor that you're kind of seeing in this video now but up next is my living room I just did the usual I fluffed the pillows I had a vacuum now here's the thing about this couch I completely regret buying this couch at the time I had no idea that it was going to just be a nightmare with a dog and it's not that it's a light-colored couch that's not a problem at all because it's actually very easy to wash the problem is the fibers of this couch like are so dense I don't even know how to describe it but it literally suctions and dog hair that the dog hairs get woven into these fibers and you can't just vacuum it out and my vacuum cleaner is actually specific for pets so even my vacuum cleaner couldn't can't really get hair like if if hair is sitting on top of it it can get with whatever's on top but if the hair has been woven into the fibers you can forget about it I even try to use duct tape and that does work a little bit but it takes so much tape and so much of my time and I absolutely hate it so if anyone has any suggestion please leave it down below because the hair I just I can't even talk about I get so upset honestly my couch looks clean but honestly it's like two shades darker than what it should be because my dog's hair is gray but yeah so basically I'm just fluffing the couch I'm trying to vacuum as much as I can but I know it's not really doing much and honestly like it really hurts my arms that's pretty much it and that's the thing about spring cleaning like I mentioned as I vacuum a lot and you're gonna see later that I vacuum baseboards and I vacuum these window sills and the window sills is my own my even saying that right I'm vacuuming the window baseboards in this living room as well so my blinds and throughout my house have these like little crown molding things I really don't know what to call these plaques but they basically cover the ugly part of the curtains where you can kind of see where they installed the the bracket or whatever so these actually are supposed to cover them and I haven't put throw in the trash just because it has you know security information on it but I want to say if you don't have a shredder it's probably the perfect time to use your fireplace because in some parts of the country it's still cold and you can just take your papers and throw it into your fireplace and that's an easy way to kind of get rid of really important paperwork without throwing it whole and then a trash or like having to tear it up into tiny million little pieces don't ever forget y'all go then I will find the light in your soul I'll be there now this part is probably gonna be ultra satisfying but also disgusting at the same time so this is the vent in the upstairs game room and yeah you're about to witness just oh my god how can you have let that vent be that disgusting but I and clean the outside as well now windows I think need to be washed on the outside more than cleaned with a like window cleaner because the outside has like dirt and I think you have to wash windows but you're gonna see that I still used my window cleaner anyway outside I was just doing the windows that I can actually personally reach myself without getting out a ladder and I liked the way that
