Unbelievably Useful iPhone Tips #2

**Sharing Content Efficiently**

When it comes to sharing content on social media, there's often a tendency to share the entire article or post, rather than just the relevant snippet. However, this can be wasteful and may not accurately represent the essence of what you want to share. To make sharing more efficient, you can simply highlight the text that you want to share, select it, and then hit the share icon. This way, only the highlighted text is shared, leaving out any unnecessary information.

**Optimizing Music Storage on Apple Devices**

If you're a music lover who frequently downloads songs for offline listening, but don't always need them with you at all times, there's an easy way to optimize your music storage on your Apple device. The Music app on iOS allows you to set a storage limit for your music library. To do this, simply go to the Music app settings, select "Optimize Storage," and choose a size that suits your needs. Your device will then automatically delete any music that hasn't been played in a while, making it easier to manage your storage space.

**Turning Off Hold Button**

When turning on an iPhone after it's been restarted or run out of battery, there's often a tendency to hold the power button until the Apple logo appears. However, this is not necessary and can be avoided altogether. To turn on your device without holding down the power button, simply click the power button one time, and then wait for the Apple logo to appear. This simple trick saves you the trouble of having to hold the button down unnecessarily.

**Charging Multiple Devices at Once**

If you own an iPhone with a compatible Lightning cable, you can charge multiple devices simultaneously using a wireless charging pad. This includes both your iPhone and an Apple Pencil. To do this, simply plug in your iPhone and Apple Pencil into the same wireless charger, and they'll both begin to charge at the same time.

**Adding Secondary Destinations on Apple Maps**

If you're using Apple Maps to navigate to a destination, but also want to add another location along the way without canceling the original trip, there's an easy way to do so. Simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen, and tap "add new stop." This will allow you to enter the secondary destination without having to cancel the first one.

**Tips for Navigation**

If you're frequently using Apple Maps to navigate, but find yourself cancelling your navigation due to additional destinations or detours, there's a simpler solution. To add a secondary destination in between your final destination and wherever you are now, simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen, tap on "add new stop," and enter the location. This way, you can make adjustments without having to cancel the entire navigation.

**The Importance of Staying Organized**

When it comes to staying organized and efficient with technology, there's often a tendency to hold onto unnecessary information or devices. However, this can lead to clutter and decreased productivity. By implementing simple strategies like optimizing your music storage, turning off unnecessary actions, and using Apple Maps more efficiently, you can stay on top of your digital life.

**The Power of Tips and Tricks**

In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the latest technology trends and forget about the small, often-overlooked tips and tricks that can make a big difference. Whether it's optimizing music storage or adding secondary destinations on Apple Maps, these simple strategies can save you time, money, and frustration.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, these are just a few examples of how you can optimize your digital life with a little bit of creativity and know-how. From sharing content efficiently to staying organized with your devices, there's always room for improvement when it comes to technology. By implementing these simple strategies, you can stay on top of your game and make the most out of your Apple devices.

today's video is sponsored by PDF office Reader the world's first real time PDF collaboration app it's like Google Docs for your PDFs if you've ever wanted to collaborate on a PDF with the team of people this is the app for you with fast and accurate OCR technology that converts images to text the ability to annotate and sign PDFs with the finger or your Apple pencil a powerful dark mode and iCloud syncing if you do anything with PDFs this is a must try check it out using the link down in the description we're all used to using filters on our phones you do it I do it but what if you can filter the way that your phone's screen looks not your photos the actual screen what if you can filter that and make the colors really saturated and pop off at you well you can there's an accessibility feature that can up the saturation on your screen and this might not be for everyone but I have to say I've been trying it out and it's pretty cool to turn it on and try it out for yourself you go to Settings General accessibility display accommodations and then turn the color filters on and select the blue flash yellow option on the iPhone 10 it's now a lot easier to close apps than it used to be there's no more red dot you have to hold and make things jiggle and then swipe no all you have to do is open up the app switcher and start swiping stuff to get rid of them but did you know you can actually close multiple apps at once using multiple fingers multiple multiple multiple can I say multiple any more times instead of using one finger you can use up to three fingers to select three different apps and swipe up simultaneously and three is the limit because you can't really fit any more than three fingers on three different apps and get rid of them so your class maybe it works you're gaming you got Instagram open and you're shopping for cheese graters but then the teacher or the boss comes by whoop three finger swipe and spreadsheet boom productive some chips are cool some tips are useful some tips are both this tip is useful not the other things unless you think it is you know when you highlight some text on your iPhone to copy or whatever and the black menu pops up over the text well like a sucker I used to use those arrows to navigate around left and right and see more options but recently I realize you can actually swipe on that black bar to do exactly the same thing now I actually feel like this makes several different workflows feel faster on the iPhone or iOS cuz I guess you could do it on the iPad too it's a mental thing it's not like it's gonna take off an hour of whatever you're gonna try to do but at the same time it just feels a little more fluid if you're trying to bold some tags or look at the definition this will get you there a little bit quicker it's nice this next step is almost more of a PSA a public service announcement an actual tip but actually it's still kind of a tip with Apple coming out with all kinds of new stuff in September in just a couple of weeks this is very important so listen up if you want to buy a new iPhone or other Apple device and use your current iPhone or device as a trade-in you can now get instant credit for it on Apple's website this is new because in the past if you wanted instant credit for your device you had to go into an actual physical Apple store on the website the best you could get is like a gift card or an Apple Store card and that would come later so now all you have to do is answer a few questions put in your serial number and then you'll see the trade-in value for your old device as purchasing the new device and actually get those credits taken off I believe I haven't tried this but I'm going to when these new devices come out so this is pretty much like awesome here's a scenario like you do you're reading the news and you come across something that's so interesting just one little sentence you have to share it with somebody because you know it's gonna impact them but the problem is every time you share it shares the whole article and you don't even know if they're gonna click on it to read and get to that little paragraph or sentence that you're after that you want to show them well did you know that you can just highlight the text that you want to share just that little snippet nothing else and hit the share icon and it will share just that snippet this is a simple tip like this is a dumb thing like you could have just stumbled across this I didn't I had to like have somebody tell me about it but yeah if you don't want to share the whole article you can just share a little text nip it highlight it first then hit the share button simple as that if you listen to a lot of music on Apple music and you always download it so that you have it with you in case you're on the plane or you find yourself without internet somewhere but you don't want to be without your music then it could be taking up a lot of space personally I've got Andy Mineo clogging up all kinds of pipes in my Apple music library I guess when he says you can't stop me it really means it so if you want to optimize your music storage you can pop into the music app settings hit optimize storage and then select an option like 4 or 16 gigs or however much you're willing to let your music collection take up and then what will happen is that your phone will automatically delete the music that it knows you haven't listened to in a while so it's perfect for rocking whatever it is that you're into at the moment but letting the other stuff kind of float away until you're interested again this next tip is so stupid yeah you're gonna be like Chris why did you even include this and when I tell you that I didn't know it and you gonna be like Chris why are you so stupid how did you not know this but let's face it you didn't know it either and that is if you turn your phone on whether it restarts or it runs out of battery when you turn it back on you don't have to hold the button down the power button until the Apple logo comes back up you just have to click it click it and wait don't hold isn't that weird for years I've been sitting there holding it until the logo shows up I know I know it's very stupid but let's not pretend you've been doing the exact same thing okay here's something that's funny or genius or weird or some sort of combination of all of those things but if you have an Apple pencil and you have an iPhone you can charge them at the exact same time how well you need a wireless charger put your iPhone on the wireless charger plug in the Apple pencil and boom you're charging both of those things at once it looks really goofy yes goofier than normal yes but that might be a relevant tip in the coming weeks because it's rumored that Apple is going to include Apple pencil support on some of the new iPhones now look I'm not afraid to say that I'm a calculator nerd but if you're in the calculator and you mess something up you typed in something that you shouldn't have you can just swipe back on the numbers and it will delete one of the numbers and you can do that however many times that you mess up what where's my pocket protector actually I left it over there last hit for the day and this is a good one it's totally different than everything else we've already talked about if you're using Apple Maps you've entered the destination and you're already on your way to wherever it is that you're going and you want to add another destination without canceling the first one how do you do that it's actually really easy to add a secondary destination in between your final destination and wherever you're at just swipe up from the bottom of maps and click on gas stations breakfast coffee wherever you want to go tap on the destination give it a second to think and you're on your way so stop canceling your navigation just redo it and redo it and redo it do this instead a couple of things yes the video is technically wrapping up but don't worry because there's lots of unbelievably useful to come I don't know how many I'm gonna make but lots and I've already made a ton so if you're new here and you like this kind of a video go back and check out all the unbelievably useful episodes that have come before in fact I'll link them up down below for you also I'm at daily tech spell daily tek k on instagram and twitter among other places so make sure you follow me on your favorite social media platforms and oh yeah i linked up a bunch of great new apple accessories for your iphone down below so you might
