possible to live with a robot today this is the neato bot vac d6 and it's the latest in a string of robotic vacuum cleaners from experts neato so how is it living with it it's awesome let's have a closer look and see how the Mito works first off on the top here this is the laser guidance system not used only for missiles this helps the d6 Navigators way around your house it can do so in the dark you don't need to leave the lights on for the v6 in addition to that there are sensors at the side to make sure it knows exactly where it is at all times in fact you can tell it to stop moving around and return to base and it takes a few seconds for it to understand where it is and just head back to the dock underneath there's a comb and this comb is suitable for all surface areas whether you've got hardwood or carpets it doesn't matter it's just going to pick up everything as it goes along there's even this handy side brush here and that make sure it can get right into the corners and nothing is just backed up the side of your room it moves around on these chunky wheels one on either side and then some little rollers on the back the body itself is pretty heavy it's not a light device but there's a big battery inside the batteries going to last you for out 2 hours and even if it does sense that it's getting low on battery it just heads back to the dock to get itself all recharged and then it starts again where it left off so you really don't have to worry about what the v6 is doing it knows what it's doing controlling the Mito Bop vac v6 is all performed through a very handy app for your phone you can also control the bot using your voice because it's compatible with Amazon Alexa and with Google assistant but beauty of the app is that you can control the robot wherever you are you can do this when you're on the train home when you're having dinner a restaurant any time even if you're not in the same room as your robot the app is incredibly simple it's so simple to set up there is literally no time between you getting the robot unplugging it putting it on charge to it really being ready it's a wonderfully easy living experience you can do a few different things you can schedule your robot so you can have it on a regular basis to do a sweep around your house and you don't have to do anything at all it just gets on with it which is after all why we want these things the really exciting part is to create a plan of your house this way you can stop the robot going into places where you don't want it because if you don't do this it really does run wild in the house it will go everywhere and sometimes that's not what you want so what you can do with your room plan as we have done here is close off certain areas with these little orange lines so you can stop it getting itself tangled up in areas where there might be lots of things on the floor where you just don't want it going doing so again it's incredibly easy it's a single particular run of your house but it Maps everything and then in the app you draw lines as to where you don't want it to go and once it's on its way when it's sweeping run you don't have to worry it just turns around and goes where it can looking at the little map here what's interesting is you can see exactly where it didn't clean and you can actually identify the bits that it didn't for example right here these dots are the legs to the sofa so it went underneath the couch was happily doing everything but of course it can't do that genuinely it knows exactly where it can go on what it can't do and this is a very handy middle of view that you can have if you don't want to schedule it you can just simply tell it to get on with cleaning if we go back to the robot you can tell it to start and it'll just get on with it any time of the day any time you want you can even give your robot and nine how cute is that so we're going to tell the robot to clean the house and you do this very simply through the app by telling it to start and off the robot goes now that's with the motor spun up to its normal speed and that's with the tiny side Sweeper going as well and that helps it get closer into corns and now you can watch what it does generally which is bump into a whole lot of things it's actually quite cute it does know where it's going it's mapped for house several times but to get to the edges although it does use a laser guidance system it still has to bump into things just to be sure where it is and you can see there how close it gets to the side of the wall so really is very few places left untouched by the top back v6 what happens when the robot has finished its sweeping duties well you actually don't have to do anything at all the robot once it's completed its tasks finds its way back to this which is its dock that lives in one set place in your house and it will shuffle its way back into position and go on charge is there anything you need to do apart from emptying out the muck that it sweeps up well you do have to change the filter on a regular basis you can buy those directly through Neto and you do have to check for anything that's stuck in here just sort of regular ordinary maintenance that you do on any vacuum cleaner so how much are you going to pay for the neato d6 this one costs $700 or 650 pounds and the amount of time that it has saved us that's the magic of owning something like this it's a genuine time saver so even though $700 sounds like a lot of money to pay for a vacuum cleaner I don't think I've vacuumed in himy any major way
