The Time Has Come for the C-Class to Evolve
Sure we love our crossovers here but globally sedans and wagons still move the money needle case in point for the last decade mercedes-benz volume model has been the c-class even more interesting over in germany for every three c classes sold two of them are wagons why can't we get that one here regardless.
The time has come for the c-class to evolve it's time to meet the 2022 mercedes-benz c-class that's it right there let's get our first impressions out of the way as that starts with the exterior styling overall the c-class looks sharp and properly updated to fit in with the rest of the family that grille is a bit stretched looking but does help stretch the car to meet its pumped-up track width and smooth shoulder lines led lighting is standard in both the nose and tail and 18 inch wheels also come as part of the standard kit.
There's some real magic though happening on the inside of the 2022 c-class and that's because mercedes-benz took inspiration from the upper echelons of its lineup use that design and inspiration wonder to create this new cabin space here there's an 11.9 inch touchscreen in the center stack and a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster.
You can wirelessly connect your phone via apple carplay or android auto and there's even a fingerprint sensor that delivers various driver profiles via biometric authentication if you want to make the cabin even more tech focused you can add in augmented video elements to your navigation a head-up display ventilated front seats a 3d surround system from burmeister integrated toll pass and even a dash cam.
But there's actually really great tech being applied to the powertrain as well the new c-class is the first benz to pair a four-cylinder gas engine with its 48-volt electrical system and an integrated starter generator.
The 2-liter twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder engine produces 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque on its own but the electrical system can add up to 20 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque when needed and it sends power out to the wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
Those would be the rear wheels or all four wheels on the available 4matic model this powertrain system is extremely intriguing in that it uses the electrical system to assist on acceleration but can also let the car sail that is drive with the engine turned off to help with fuel economy.

economy it's not a hybrid in the traditional sense that we're used to but it's pretty darn close this is electrification to make for a better driving and performing machine in fact mercedes says the c-class will run from 0-60 miles per hour in 5.9 seconds in both the rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions there's no word yet on actual fuel economy or the starting price but we do know that both the c300 and c300 4matic will start showing up on dealer lots sometime in early 2022 and they'll arrive there with fresh new looks a very tech focused cabin and an extremely intriguing powertrain that promises to blend performance and efficiency this seems like a pretty good match for the all-new c-class yousure we love our crossovers here but globally sedans and wagons still move the money
