The Twin Turbo Mr2 Is No More, Getting Rid Of Everything We Don't Need

The Mr2: A Project in Progress

For now, just for time's sake and we can slap it in there and go because i'll save like two or three days of work so uh bring that back with us and try it out it should work on your your car will fit nice then the trunk and so basically what we're doing in my car will be the same setup that's in this one right here identical stuff same bottom everything everything is the same. So, and this car has been a nine or an eight two eight twenty one uh one losing yeah one seventy nine we had a boost leak so it would have done more mile per hour but nine twenty one you're hoping for 180 plus this time 185 plus gotta go 185 at least to keep up with the b series cars at least 185 but um we can get the mr2 going 180 plus we'll be uh in good shape yeah you'll be if you go 185 flush it well until the seventh through like 780 probably around there.

Big Power Upgrades: The Plan

Also, i realized while this is all apart this is going to be the perfect time we have no more page now's the time to do that so we'll be doing that here soon too need to do it on the van still i mean just drop a comment or something paint the page 2021 and uh we'll make that happen but uh for now that's going to be about it with the mr2 until we get some new parts in we're not going to be able to do much more to it so we're going to get this thing pushed out of here and why it's actually bringing his truck in because he has some welding to do on the truck today so he's gonna be working on that. We're doing truck things yep moss gonna be working on the diesel ye so until then the mr2 is uh waiting for her parts to come in and then she'll be going back together hopefully here real soon.

The Challenges Ahead

Got more wires than a dang 737 yeah probably that's only one of them one of the harnesses you're probably not gonna reuse most of that i'm going to use probably 10 wires all of that to wire the whole light system on the car yep there's a lot of nonsense in there we don't need yeah the poor duramax the s14 the mr2 yeah all vehicles pictured here do not work big that's why it's a daily it needs injectors had brand new injectors in it the 240 has a motor that is locked up i mean it turns over with a pry bar but it's not the best and then the mr2 is just gutted just that now it's going to the junkyard cohen's hasn't let us down since we did the flex plate i mean you've been a good girl minus i can't wait to trade you in and replace you yeah it's been a great truck i've never had that single issue i should have never said that now it's gonna explode well guys that's pretty much gonna do it for right now just wanna give you an update on where we're at with the mr2 it is completely apart so we have a lot to work to do to get that thing all put back together but part's coming soon so i'm really excited about that.

The Upcoming Plans

And, just got his truck pulled in here and he's gonna finish working on this thing today get the underside of the page all welded up yep got a ton of welding to do on this thing i want to try and get the chassis completely done this weekend so it's very close i've got like maybe five more bars i need to weld or fabricate so hopefully get that knocked out between today and tomorrow and we're going to give the people an update is this all they get to see right here until you decide to edit it'll probably be another three months before i edit all the footage i have and upload it so coming real soon telling what if we get those views up i'll be able to pay him enough so i can take over and just film it i just work on it yeah it would be ideal because i'm lazy it's really cool to put that video and stuff out there but it's just so much extra work i'll do the work dude i know but yeah it's getting there it's i really want to get the cage done so i can get it freaking sandblasted and painted because it is rotting away yeah that florida weather it's going downhill looks like you needed to paint your page too i should have painted the page a long time ago it's gonna be sweet when it's done though yeah it should be a really cool truck i'm looking forward to it yeah this thing's gonna be sweet but that's where uh we're gonna end this video for now guys hope you enjoyed and we will see you later bye you

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwell guys the mr2 uh isn't in the best shape right now pretty much ripped out every single thing inside of the car and this is all the guts that make up the inners of the mr2 right here so we got the ultimate weight reduction mod yeah so you know we've come to the conclusion if we don't need it it's going to go mrt is pretty much going full race car at this this moment in time here if it's in the way it goes away yeah it's in the way it goes away we don't need it delete it um yeah that's that's the the mindset we're kind of in right now we still have a lot we want to do to the car but we've just been spending the day getting it all ripped out while it has been in there just pulling all the wiring out of the inside of the car we have literally the whole chassis harness right here i'm sure they saw i'm sure they saw my nice gut yeah i'm crinkled up inside of that yeah wyatt was in there upside down ripping it apart we have the engine harness out the chassis harness we're gonna simplify all that stuff i mean we even took the freaking sandbags back out that's how you know it's getting serious and yeah the old heater box was in there still so we don't need that thing anymore that's just extra weight some of the old firewall padding material don't know that uh the steering wheel and column is all apart as well probably a good freaking 20 maybe 30 pounds worth of stuff in between all this right here we're going to be getting rid of the factory steering wheel in the column we're going to run a uh shaft and get rid of all of that nice long shaft going into the problem shaft a race works yeah a motion race works steering column which we will show you guys yep and uh yeah i just kind of laid some of the engine parts in there for a nice little thumbnail and the aesthetic is showing how much stuff came out of this car we're redoing the coolant system so these are the actual coolant lines that go underneath the car that connect the engine to the radiator in the front but we are not going to be running the radiator in the front anymore we had an idea that we're going to try out we're going to be sticking the radiator in the back so that will give us more room for activities in the front but uh business in the back party in the front we got a reverse mullet yeah we got a reverse mullet party no it'd be the same right party in the back the party's in the back oh yeah okay you know it's gonna look all nice and neat up front but the party is happening in the back all right so it's the mullet mobile now yeah well we can't call it that you know that name is taken we also pulled the fuel cell out of the car so the fuel cell is over there we're going to leave the fuel cell where it's at but we might redo the mount a little bit and then we'll be able to take out these weights we still have the 40 pound weights bolted in there we're going to get rid of those because we plan on making a weight plate for the front of the car and you know get rid of the sandbags and then we also had this piece right here that was in the front of the car so this got a little mangled up after the big wheelie this was right there we uh took the old trusty saws off and we got that guy out of there we're gonna knock the remaining pieces off and we're gonna weld a bar across right here then we can add a weight plate to that bar uh and then without having the radiator in the front right here we'll be able to add more weight to the nose of the car and play with our weight distribution that's why we want to put the radiator in the back we got the fuel pump and lines pulled off of it so we're going to no longer be running our magnet fuel 750 oh we are dripping all over the dash rip but we're getting rid of the magnaflow 750 inline pump it has served us well but we are going to a mechanical fuel pump in the future so we'll be losing a little bit of weight there or saving the weight on the car so i'm not sure if we showed the mechanical pump in the past or not but we have this watermen uh 12 gallon mechanical pump she will flow all the fuel we need this guy bolts directly to the side of the valve cover and then we'll have an lines going directly from the tank up into this mechanical pump right here we also have a couple injectors in here because we're gonna be adding the other four injectors so we'll be running on all eight we had to pull the fuel cell off because it has dash 10 bungs welded on the back of it and i believe we're going to go up to a 12 for the fuel feed so we're going to need to cut those tens off and put a bigger bung on there so we're not restricted on the bung on the tank there and yeah now i'm gonna show him inside the car real quick she's pretty gutted the only thing left in there is the shifter e-brake and the dash and cage and everything else is pretty much out of the car mostly out we're gonna a couple more little things removed like just another little harness piece and then she will be fully gutted yeah she is really really light right now this is the most stuff that we've had out of the car at one time we should just make a pass how it sits because then it'd probably be fast yeah we could probably push this thing pretty quick dude yeah guys we're just we're just sending it big changes i mean it it looks like we're doing a lot but realistically it's not that much we're just taking everything out and then getting rid of what we don't need yeah i mean it's definitely a lot of work still we're also going to be gutting the doors because right now they have the regulators in there everything and we're not going to need any of that too just extra weight we're trying to go as fast as we can with this car so we're going to be getting rid of all that got the doors out we have a carbon trunk being made so we'll get some more weight off the rear it is coming out really sweet so i'm really excited to show you guys that once it is done and then if we take a look in the back of the car right here uh we're actually going to be reusing the speed factory intercooler that came off of the route to see we were going to put this on the house no what that is not an intercooler radiator the speed factory radiator that came off of the van we're going to be using it on the mr2 it was going to go on the hatch but we found this would work out really well for running a radiator in the rear because we want to try it out so what we're going to do is we're going to be making a new intercooler for the mr2 i know you guys loved my three-part series on the intercooler build but unfortunately this one is gonna have to go and we'll make three separate videos of making a brand new intercooler a three-part series of nothing but intercooler content goodness unboxing the core yeah unboxing one for one part three is unboxed in the other and then the grand finale is adding the clamps um but yeah we're gonna be taking this inner cooler out and we're going to get one that is quite a bit shorter i wouldn't say in half but maybe like a third less than this one that will give us some room to mount this radiator right next to the intercooler here in the back because this intercooler is good for like street ability and stuff but to make one pass at a time letting the car cool in between runs we don't need this big of an inner cooler whale kill yeah and actually the intercooler we're getting is going to be rated for technically more power than this one this is a 1200 horse rated core the one we're getting is a 1300 horse rated core it's not as wide but it's actually thicker this is a four and a half inch the one we're getting is a six inch so it actually does have more cooling overall so we're actually upgrading the inner cooler but it's going to be kind of squished over to the side and thicker and then we'll stick our radiator right by that guy and our thoughts with putting the radiator in the back is that for one if we have any sort of radiator blow out and there's coolant or water going everywhere uh that's going to be behind the rear tires if it happens back here especially when we're traveling at a high rate of speed all that air coming under the car it's just going to pull all the water and coolant back behind the rear tires so we don't get any water under the tires if something happened and the radiator was in the front of the car and we you know run a big boost and we blow a head gasket and all that boost goes into the cooling system and busts the radiator or a line up here by the engine or something like that all that water is going to possibly you know shoot under the tire so we're going to try to do our best to avoid that also since we're getting rid of a full-size radiator in the front of the car and we have all that water weight to go all the way to the front in that bigger radiator switching to the smaller radiator in the back we'll be putting a little bit more weight in the rear here we're also taking some weight out with the intercooler but it's going to be taking more weight off the car overall so then we can re-add that weight to the front of the car and without that big full-size radiator in the nose of the mr2 we'll have a weight plate up there and we can add weights right in place of where that radiator is at we can kind of dial in the weight distribution a little bit more on the car at least that's the idea we've been just trying to think of all kinds of little things we can do here and there to help with the weight distribution on the mr2 because i think that's our biggest factor is getting the weight in the right place with this car because it has so much over the rear tires with it being a mid-engine car that if we can get as much weight out of this thing overall and then stick it right back on the nose to kind of balance that out that is going to be our best bet along with a lot of power so yeah that's where we're at for right now i don't know how much more i have to add on top of that but she is in shambles right now she's all the way up she has seen better days yep so we're gonna give this thing a nice bath one of these days get the engine bay all cleaned out and i just got word from jbr that they should have my rods sometime next week and they're going to try to get the engine together here soon after that happens so it might be a week or still maybe we can have two weeks from now until the engine's done and i already ordered the intercooler core we got other things on the way we have a package to open up as well some goodies for the head and uh yeah it's about where we're at you know what i just noticed huh this is a colorado car you can see right here oh you can't see my camera oh you might colorado car boulder toyota oh it does i see that with the little mountains yep it's funny because i bought this car in wyoming boulder colorado i got this in cheyenne so at some point it was in colorado went to wyoming and then i brought it back to colorado man i remember when i got this thing i was so freaking stoked it was clean it was i mean it's still not too bad and then you put a rod then you put a rod through the block i know i still have that rod cap somewhere only the ogs remember when i walked you know freaking half mile down the road after the engine blew and i found the rod cap from the stock 5s whatever the motor is and she was cooked i remember that night very vividly i was towing charlie's broken car home as we passed kyle's broken car the way no g days i'll insert the clip so how do you feel about that hayden you just lost to my car again oh i don't have a tag i would have smoked you okay i don't think you're ever gonna take me dude well they're both really slow either way so it doesn't matter yeah they're all slow as hell so we'll have to do a rematch once they're both built yeah it'll be a k20 mr2 versus can i say want to do ls turbo yeah that's the plans a lot of the rotor you guys are gonna be hurt yeah yeah he's gonna take the rotary out of here and stick a v8 in there all right so i was on my way home and the mr2 started to knock and i literally just blew the motor why my other friend are behind me right now so they can give me a tow but i just blew her up guys and i didn't even take it that hard on it so i have no idea why it started to knock and then i just tried to get it home and i mean she's done now i really have to get that k-swap done so i'm pretty sure it threw a rod through the block like it's bad my car's way down there so you can see the hazard's blinking huh what a walk anyway look what i found right here that is my connecting rod camp oh so i found this still probably pretty warm oh yeah well that motor is holy sh i've never even blown up a motor in any of my cars this is a first for me i literally found the rod cap just all mangled it almost made it home but it it didn't and then that's when that motor came out and the k-swap began and i said this car was gonna do cool things one day and it did it did now it's gonna hopefully do even cooler things hopefully it does backflips no we're past that all right guys just got some parts in the mr2 this box is from drag cartel look what they put on here boosted or bust seven second club hopefully we'll be seven second club and not bust but uh all the parts in here are going to be going into the new head so let's go ahead and show you guys what we got oh not packing peanuts rip you go everywhere we're back to these things again i remember that video at the colorado shop when i said you can eat these well no they sell them as toys someone sent us a whole bag of them a whole colorful bag of them you lick them and they stick together make little stick figure people with them and stuff right and everyone thought my mom was just cheap she's like oh here play with these box of packing peanuts but they were actually like a toy you could get got ourselves some merch like always jeremy always sending us some hats and shirts some dress-up accessories here oh yeah oil cap frickin little filter block off cover and then our first major part right here is some cam gears that are adjustable we are going to be locking the vtc on the mr2 with our new engine management we are not going to be controlling vtc at all we'll have it set to one setting and we are going to run it from there because that was also a possibility of why we were thinking maybe the valves were hitting i don't think that's the issue basically what the vtc does on the k series is the stock gear right here has oil pressure sent to it and you can actually change the cam angle in the tuning of the computer and we were thinking that a possibility is that we were losing that cam angle like that oil pressure wasn't holding enough and it was uh you know losing btc and that could cause the valves to hit if it was doing that we would see the power drop off on the dyno and you could probably tell and like feel it in the car so it doesn't seem like that's the issue but just one less variable we're gonna be locking the vtc out with those custom cam gears this is the stuff to lock vtec i believe little pins and stuff we've never we've never locked vtec so this is going to be our first build where we actually have vtec locked always on so we will always be in vtec i believe that is what these are for so we're gonna be vtec always on one of our cams these are the twin turbo killer cams right here from drag cartel these are only a two lobe cam because we will be locking v-tech so we don't need that middle cam to control v-tech anymore that center lobe i mean and yeah dang big fancy all right so we got one of the cams out right here and if you compare this to a stock style cam this is actually a drag cartel two two cam so it's not a completely stock cam but it's set up for a factory vtec application you can see we have the middle lobe right here that's bigger than these two outer lobes so when vtec is engaged this metal lobe takes over pushes on this center roller right here and when you get more lift on the valves which gives you more power all that good stuff you know the when vtec hits in yo that's when you get the blah so we're going to be essentially deleting vtec these little billet spacer deals right here replace this middle roller right here um when you know this is activated and the oil pressure locks the pins over and uh the lobe starts running this middle one that's what's responsible for the more lift and duration on the valves which gives you the more power we won't have that anymore it's just going to be always making big lift big power at all moments in time so down low like i said won't be as drivable but uh it's just a more stout setup overall it distributes the load between the two lobes more evenly greater valve control too yeah better control so we're just trying to get rid of as many variables as we can you know we're still having the valve issues so switching to a twin lobe cam getting rid of vtec locking the cam gears in place so we know nothing's shifting or moving in there this is the setup that jbr recommended for us to do it's the same stuff they run in all their pro front-wheel drive k-series cars and they have had really good success with them so that's what we're gonna go with and i'm gonna be getting this stuff dropped off at jbr here in a little bit all right i just got all this stuff dropped off over here at jbr got everything right there so once they get to the head that is what will be going into it so really excited for all that shout out to drag cartel for giving us a good discount on all of these parts and uh yeah i want to show you guys jason civic over here too it's coming along almost ready to run hopefully next week we get it started yeah this thing is freaking nasty they just got all the fab work on it done those freaking billet intakes on the intercooler they switched exhaust housings and made a new exhaust manifold because the other turbo hit and they're actually going to let me take this one back with me because if this manifold will fit for us in the mr2 i'm going to buy this off of them and run this one for a little bit but i just want to double check and make sure that everything will fit in there correctly it even has a spot right here for back pressure so we can monitor that as well but we'll bring it back with us once we get a engine mocked up back in the mr2 we'll see if this works or not if not then we'll just have to fab one up ourselves which will take a little bit of time but hopefully this one will work for us for right now just for time's sake and we can slap it in there and go because i'll save like two or three days of work so uh bring that back with us and try it out it should work on your your car will fit nice then the trunk and so basically what we're doing in my car will be the same setup that's in this one right here identical stuff same bottom everything everything is the same so and this car has been a nine or an eight two eight twenty one uh one losing yeah one seventy nine we had a boost leak so it would have done more mile per hour but nine twenty one you're hoping for 180 plus this time 185 plus gotta go 185 at least to keep up with the b series cars at least 185 but um we can get the mr2 going 180 plus we'll be uh in good shape yeah you'll be if you go 185 flush it well until the seventh through like 780 probably around there what's the plan about to make big power boys also i realized while this is all apart this is going to be the perfect time we have no more page now's the time to do that so we'll be doing that here soon too need to do it on the van still i mean just drop a comment or something paint the page 2021 and uh we'll make that happen but uh for now that's going to be about it with the mr2 until we get some new parts in we're not going to be able to do much more to it so we're going to get this thing pushed out of here and why it's actually bringing his truck in because he has some welding to do on the truck today so he's gonna be working on that we're doing truck things yep moss gonna be working on the diesel ye so until then the mr2 is uh waiting for her parts to come in and then she'll be going back together hopefully here real soon got more wires than a dang 737 yeah probably that's only one of them one of the harnesses you're probably not gonna reuse most of that i'm going to use probably 10 wires all of that to wire the whole light system on the car yep there's a lot of nonsense in there we don't need yeah the poor duramax the s14 the mr2 yeah all vehicles pictured here do not work big that's why it's a daily it needs injectors had brand new injectors in it the 240 has a motor that is locked up i mean it turns over with a pry bar but it's not the best and then the mr2 is just gutted just that now it's going to the junkyard cohen's hasn't let us down since we did the flex plate i mean you've been a good girl minus i can't wait to trade you in and replace you yeah it's been a great truck i've never had that single issue i should have never said that now it's gonna explode well guys that's pretty much gonna do it for right now just wanna give you an update on where we're at with the mr2 it is completely apart so we have a lot to work to do to get that thing all put back together but part's coming soon so i'm really excited about that and why i just got his truck pulled in here and he's gonna finish working on this thing today get the underside of the page all welded up yep got a ton of welding to do on this thing i want to try and get the chassis completely done this weekend so it's very close i've got like maybe five more bars i need to weld or fabricate so hopefully get that knocked out between today and tomorrow and we're going to give the people an update is this all they get to see right here until you decide to edit it'll probably be another three months before i edit all the footage i have and upload it so coming real soon telling what if we get those views up i'll be able to pay him enough so i can take over and just film it i just work on it yeah it would be ideal because i'm lazy it's really cool to put that video and stuff out there but it's just so much extra work i'll do the work dude i know but yeah it's getting there it's i really want to get the cage done so i can get it freaking sandblasted and painted because it is rotting away yeah that florida weather it's going downhill looks like you needed to paint your page too i should have painted the page a long time ago it's gonna be sweet when it's done though yeah it should be a really cool truck i'm looking forward to it yeah this thing's gonna be sweet but that's where uh we're gonna end this video for now guys hope you enjoyed and we will see you later bye youwell guys the mr2 uh isn't in the best shape right now pretty much ripped out every single thing inside of the series of nothing but intercooler content goodness unboxing the core yeah unboxing one for one part three is unboxed in the other and then the grand finale is adding the clamps um but yeah we're gonna be taking this inner cooler out and we're going to get one that is quite a bit shorter i wouldn't say in half but maybe like a third less than this one that will give us some room to mount this radiator right next to the intercooler here in the back because this intercooler is good for like street ability and stuff but to make one pass at a time letting the car cool in between runs we don't need this big of an inner cooler whale kill yeah and actually the intercooler we're getting is going to be rated for technically more power than this one this is a 1200 horse rated core the one we're getting is a 1300 horse rated core it's not as wide but it's actually thicker this is a four and a half inch the one we're getting is a six inch so it actually does have more cooling overall so we're actually upgrading the inner cooler but it's going to be kind of squished over to the side and thicker and then we'll stick our radiator right by that guy and our thoughts with putting the radiator in the back is that for one if we have any sort of radiator blow out and there's coolant or water going everywhere uh that's going to be behind the rear tires if it happens back here especially when we're traveling at a high rate of speed all that air coming under the car it's just going to pull all the water and coolant back behind the rear tires so we don't get any water under the tires if something happened and the radiator was in the front of the car and we you know run a big boost and we blow a head gasket and all that boost goes into the cooling system and busts the radiator or a line up here by the engine or something like that all that water is going to possibly you know shoot under the tire so we're going to try to do our best to avoid that also since we're getting rid of a full-size radiator in the front of the car and we have all that water weight to go all the way to the front in that bigger radiator switching to the smaller radiator in the back we'll be putting a little bit more weight in the rear here we're also taking some weight out with the intercooler but it's going to be taking more weight off the car overall so then we can re-add that weight to the front of the car and without that big full-size radiator in the nose of the mr2 we'll have a weight plate up there and we can add weights right in place of where that radiator is at we can kind of dial in the weight distribution a little bit more on the car at least that's the idea we've been just trying to think of all kinds of little things we can do here and there to help with the weight distribution on the mr2 because i think that's our biggest factor is getting the weight in the right place with this car because it has so much over the rear tires with it being a mid-engine car that if we can get as much weight out of this thing overall and then stick it right back on the nose to kind of balance that out that is going to be our best bet along with a lot of power so yeah that's where we're at for right now i don't know how much more i have to add on top of that but she is in shambles right now she's all the way up she has seen better days yep so we're gonna give this thing a nice bath one of these days get the engine bay all cleaned out and i just got word from jbr that they should have my rods sometime next week and they're going to try to get the engine together here soon after that happens so it might be a week or still maybe we can have two weeks from now until the engine's done and i already ordered the intercooler core we got other things on the way we have a package to open up as well some goodies for the head and uh yeah it's about where we're at you know what i just noticed huh this is a colorado car you can see right here oh you can't see my camera oh you might colorado car boulder toyota oh it does i see that with the little mountains yep it's funny because i bought this car in wyoming boulder colorado i got this in cheyenne so at some point it was in colorado went to wyoming and then i brought it back to colorado man i remember when i got this thing i was so freaking stoked it was clean it was i mean it's still not too bad and then you put a rod then you put a rod through the block i know i still have that rod cap somewhere only the ogs remember when i walked you know freaking half mile down the road after the engine blew and i found the rod cap from the stock 5s whatever the motor is and she was cooked i remember that night very vividly i was towing charlie's broken car home as we passed kyle's broken car the way no g days i'll insert the clip so how do you feel about that hayden you just lost to my car again oh i don't have a tag i would have smoked you okay i don't think you're ever gonna take me dude well they're both really slow either way so it doesn't matter yeah they're all slow as hell so we'll have to do a rematch once they're both built yeah it'll be a k20 mr2 versus can i say want to do ls turbo yeah that's the plans a lot of the rotor you guys are gonna be hurt yeah yeah he's gonna take the rotary out of here and stick a v8 in there all right so i was on my way home and the mr2 started to knock and i literally just blew the motor why my other friend are behind me right now so they can give me a tow but i just blew her up guys and i didn't even take it that hard on it so i have no idea why it started to knock and then i just tried to get it home and i mean she's done now i really have to get that k-swap done so i'm pretty sure it threw a rod through the block like it's bad my car's way down there so you can see the hazard's blinking huh what a walk anyway look what i found right here that is my connecting rod camp oh so i found this still probably pretty warm oh yeah well that motor is holy sh i've never even blown up a motor in any of my cars this is a first for me i literally found the rod cap just all mangled it almost made it home but it it didn't and then that's when that motor came out and the k-swap began and i said this car was gonna do cool things one day and it did it did now it's gonna hopefully do even cooler things hopefully it does backflips no we're past that all right guys just got some parts in the mr2 this box is from drag cartel look what they put on here boosted or bust seven second club hopefully we'll be seven second club and not bust but uh all the parts in here are going to be going into the new head so let's go ahead and show you guys what we got oh not packing peanuts rip you go everywhere we're back to these things again i remember that video at the colorado shop when i said you can eat these well no they sell them as toys someone sent us a whole bag of them a whole colorful bag of them you lick them and they stick together make little stick figure people with them and stuff right and everyone thought my mom was just cheap she's like oh here play with these box of packing peanuts but they were actually like a toy you could get got ourselves some merch like always jeremy always sending us some hats and shirts some dress-up accessories here oh yeah oil cap frickin little filter block off cover and then our first major part right here is some cam gears that are adjustable we are going to be locking the vtc on the mr2 with our new engine management we are not going to be controlling vtc at all we'll have it set to one setting and we are going to run it from there because that was also a possibility of why we were thinking maybe the valves were hitting i don't think that's the issue basically what the vtc does on the k series is the stock gear right here has oil pressure sent to it and you can actually change the cam angle in the tuning of the computer and we were thinking that a possibility is that we were losing that cam angle like that oil pressure wasn't holding enough and it was uh you know losing btc and that could cause the valves to hit if it was doing that we would see the power drop off on the dyno and you could probably tell and like feel it in the car so it doesn't seem like that's the issue but just one less variable we're gonna be locking the vtc out with those custom cam gears this is the stuff to lock vtec i believe little pins and stuff we've never we've never locked vtec so this is going to be our first build where we actually have vtec locked always on so we will always be in vtec i believe that is what these are for so we're gonna be vtec always on one of our cams these are the twin turbo killer cams right here from drag cartel these are only a two lobe cam because we will be locking v-tech so we don't need that middle cam to control v-tech anymore that center lobe i mean and yeah dang big fancy all right so we got one of the cams out right here and if you compare this to a stock style cam this is actually a drag cartel two two cam so it's not a completely stock cam but it's set up for a factory vtec application you can see we have the middle lobe right here that's bigger than these two outer lobes so when vtec is engaged this metal lobe takes over pushes on this center roller right here and when you get more lift on the valves which gives you more power all that good stuff you know the when vtec hits in yo that's when you get the blah so we're going to be essentially deleting vtec these little billet spacer deals right here replace this middle roller right here um when you know this is activated and the oil pressure locks the pins over and uh the lobe starts running this middle one that's what's responsible for the more lift and duration on the valves which gives you the more power we won't have that anymore it's just going to be always making big lift big power at all moments in time so down low like i said won't be as drivable but uh it's just a more stout setup overall it distributes the load between the two lobes more evenly greater valve control too yeah better control so we're just trying to get rid of as many variables as we can you know we're still having the valve issues so switching to a twin lobe cam getting rid of vtec locking the cam gears in place so we know nothing's shifting or moving in there this is the setup that jbr recommended for us to do it's the same stuff they run in all their pro front-wheel drive k-series cars and they have had really good success with them so that's what we're gonna go with and i'm gonna be getting this stuff dropped off at jbr here in a little bit all right i just got all this stuff dropped off over here at jbr got everything right there so once they get to the head that is what will be going into it so really excited for all that shout out to drag cartel for giving us a good discount on all of these parts and uh yeah i want to show you guys jason civic over here too it's coming along almost ready to run hopefully next week we get it started yeah this thing is freaking nasty they just got all the fab work on it done those freaking billet intakes on the intercooler they switched exhaust housings and made a new exhaust manifold because the other turbo hit and they're actually going to let me take this one back with me because if this manifold will fit for us in the mr2 i'm going to buy this off of them and run this one for a little bit but i just want to double check and make sure that everything will fit in there correctly it even has a spot right here for back pressure so we can monitor that as well but we'll bring it back with us once we get a engine mocked up back in the mr2 we'll see if this works or not if not then we'll just have to fab one up ourselves which will take a little bit of time but hopefully this one will work for us for right now just for time's sake and we can slap it in there and go because i'll save like two or three days of work so uh bring that back with us and try it out it should work on your your car will fit nice then the trunk and so basically what we're doing in my car will be the same setup that's in this one right here identical stuff same bottom everything everything is the same so and this car has been a nine or an eight two eight twenty one uh one losing yeah one seventy nine we had a boost leak so it would have done more mile per hour but nine twenty one you're hoping for 180 plus this time 185 plus gotta go 185 at least to keep up with the b series cars at least 185 but um we can get the mr2 going 180 plus we'll be uh in good shape yeah you'll be if you go 185 flush it well until the seventh through like 780 probably around there what's the plan about to make big power boys also i realized while this is all apart this is going to be the perfect time we have no more page now's the time to do that so we'll be doing that here soon too need to do it on the van still i mean just drop a comment or something paint the page 2021 and uh we'll make that happen but uh for now that's going to be about it with the mr2 until we get some new parts in we're not going to be able to do much more to it so we're going to get this thing pushed out of here and why it's actually bringing his truck in because he has some welding to do on the truck today so he's gonna be working on that we're doing truck things yep moss gonna be working on the diesel ye so until then the mr2 is uh waiting for her parts to come in and then she'll be going back together hopefully here real soon got more wires than a dang 737 yeah probably that's only one of them one of the harnesses you're probably not gonna reuse most of that i'm going to use probably 10 wires all of that to wire the whole light system on the car yep there's a lot of nonsense in there we don't need yeah the poor duramax the s14 the mr2 yeah all vehicles pictured here do not work big that's why it's a daily it needs injectors had brand new injectors in it the 240 has a motor that is locked up i mean it turns over with a pry bar but it's not the best and then the mr2 is just gutted just that now it's going to the junkyard cohen's hasn't let us down since we did the flex plate i mean you've been a good girl minus i can't wait to trade you in and replace you yeah it's been a great truck i've never had that single issue i should have never said that now it's gonna explode well guys that's pretty much gonna do it for right now just wanna give you an update on where we're at with the mr2 it is completely apart so we have a lot to work to do to get that thing all put back together but part's coming soon so i'm really excited about that and why i just got his truck pulled in here and he's gonna finish working on this thing today get the underside of the page all welded up yep got a ton of welding to do on this thing i want to try and get the chassis completely done this weekend so it's very close i've got like maybe five more bars i need to weld or fabricate so hopefully get that knocked out between today and tomorrow and we're going to give the people an update is this all they get to see right here until you decide to edit it'll probably be another three months before i edit all the footage i have and upload it so coming real soon telling what if we get those views up i'll be able to pay him enough so i can take over and just film it i just work on it yeah it would be ideal because i'm lazy it's really cool to put that video and stuff out there but it's just so much extra work i'll do the work dude i know but yeah it's getting there it's i really want to get the cage done so i can get it freaking sandblasted and painted because it is rotting away yeah that florida weather it's going downhill looks like you needed to paint your page too i should have painted the page a long time ago it's gonna be sweet when it's done though yeah it should be a really cool truck i'm looking forward to it yeah this thing's gonna be sweet but that's where uh we're gonna end this video for now guys hope you enjoyed and we will see you later bye you\n"
