How did AMD forget this!

Samsung's Folding Phone Teaser is Still as Vague as Ever

Samsung has posted an only slightly less vague teaser for their folding phone, with the tagline "The future unfolds." The company hasn't revealed much about the device, leaving fans to speculate about its features and release date. Unlike previous teasers, which hinted at the phone's flexibility and durability, this one focuses on the idea that something exciting is coming. We can only hope that Samsung will follow up with more concrete details soon.

On the other hand, Google has been making progress on augmented reality (AR) walking directions for Google Maps. The company first showcased a concept video of AR maps at its I/O 2018 developer conference last May. However, it wasn't until recently that the Wall Street Journal got to play around with a functioning alpha version of the feature for Android. The AR app uses something called the Visual Positioning System (VPS), which analyzes the feed from the phone's camera to determine precise location and orientation. Not only does the app help users avoid walking around like a "phone addicted zombie," but it also encourages users to keep their phones down while walking. Although the app is currently in private testing, it looks promising.

Xiaomi has filed a patent for a phone display with curved edges on all four sides of the screen, which could be dubbed the "Xiaomi Cube." According to the patent, this feature would make it difficult to distinguish between the display and the actual phone. However, we must remind our readers that this is just a patent filing, and Xiaomi has not confirmed any plans to release such a product.

AMD's Radeon 7, or as Apple calls it the "5i," was released last week. Although the graphics card boasts impressive specs, AMD failed to include UEFI support, which is required for Windows 10 to use Secure Boot. This oversight could cause some users' installations of Windows 10 to deactivate. It's unclear why AMD didn't implement UEFI support in this case.

Beat Saber continues to be a popular VR game, with players achieving incredible speeds that forced Valve to update SteamVR's tracking system. Players who sliced through colored boxes in time with music were so fast and accurate that the app struggled to keep up. Although it's cool to see gamers pushing their skills to new heights, Beat Saber fans can't help but feel a pang of sadness – there isn't actually an VR Lightsaber dueling game out yet.

Mars One, a company that aimed to send humans to live on Mars forever, is now nothing more than a memory. Although the company was part of a reality show featuring human habitation on Mars, it unfortunately ceased operations and died without achieving its ambitious goals. It's likely we'll only see Martian reality shows at some point in the future.

Finally, cheating gamers have been reminded that not all of them will face consequences for their actions. Johnny Perez, who created an infamous cheating program called Elusive for Grand Theft Auto Online, has been ordered to pay $150,000 and $70,000 in legal fees by a district court in New York. The game's publisher, Take-Two, sued Perez after he took down the software without making any further contact about how much money he'd made from purchases of Elusive.
