VanTrue OnDash X2 Dash Cam Review

**VanRe On Dash X2 Dash Cam Review**

The VanRe On Dash X2 Dash Cam is a highly impressive device that sits above me as I record this review. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with its performance and features, which are similar to those of the first VanRe dash cam I reviewed some time ago. In fact, I'd say this one is even better – it's more compact, adds new features, and works just as well in my opinion.

**Video Resolution**

One of the standout features of the VanRe On Dash X2 is its video resolution. It records an awesome 2560 x 1440 at 30 frames per second, which is Quad HD resolution. This makes me very happy, especially since it also offers a secondary option to record 1920 x 1080 at 60 frames per second for that smoothest action possible. Additionally, the camera can take snapshots automatically in 16-megapixel resolution, which is super handy if you want to capture license plate numbers or other details in case of an accident.

**Video Features**

But video recording is just the beginning for the VanRe On Dash X2. It has several features that set it apart from other dash cams on the market. For example, its ultra-wide-angle lens captures plenty of footage, so you don't have to worry about missing anything if something happens while driving. And with the ability to record 16-megapixel snapshots and the camera's advanced sensors, you can be sure that your footage will be clear and sharp.

**Performance**

The VanRe On Dash X2's performance is also noteworthy. According to Ventry's website, it features the Amberella A12 CPU, which – although I don't know much about it myself – apparently makes a big deal. Whether or not you care about the technical details, one thing's for sure: this dash cam performs flawlessly. The camera is slim and easy to hold if needed, with easy-to-understand onboard controls and plenty of menus to navigate.

**Design**

The design of the VanRe On Dash X2 is also a major plus. It's incredibly compact and lightweight, making it perfect for everyday use. The onboard display is also very sharp and easy to see from a distance – although I still want to emphasize that you shouldn't be watching the screen while driving! The overall build quality feels premium, with solid construction that should last for a long time.

**Setup Process**

One of the best things about the VanRe On Dash X2 is its incredibly simple setup process. All you need to do is plug in the included USB cable and insert your own micro SD card (up to 64 GB capacity). Boom – you're good to go! The camera's ability to automatically start and stop recording makes it easy to capture footage, even if something happens outside of your car.

**Favorite Features**

As I mentioned earlier, there are several features that stand out in my opinion. One of my favorites is the parking mode feature, which automatically stops and starts recording even when you're not inside the car. This means that if something happens while you're parked, the camera will capture it on video – giving you peace of mind and potentially helping you prove your case if needed. Another great feature is the emergency mode, which allows you to instantly save a video file in any folder.

**Cost**

Finally, let's talk about cost. The VanRe On Dash X2 currently sells for $169 on Amazon, as of my recording. While that may seem steep at first glance, I believe it's well worth the price – especially if you drive frequently. In fact, I've paid more for less in the past, so this camera feels like a great value to me.

**Conclusion**

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the VanRe On Dash X2 Dash Cam, and I think you will be too. Its impressive video resolution, features like parking mode and emergency recording, and solid design make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable dash cam. And at $169, it's a great value for the price – especially considering the peace of mind that comes with knowing your car is protected in case of an accident or other incident.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwe're going to have to cool the environment down for this one just because I don't feel like running my AC in the background it would be entirely too loud hello guys are you David frco here from David the franco.com today's video is all about the van true on dash X2 and as you can see I'm obviously sitting in my car and today I've decided to use my GoPro Hero 4 simply because this is a very enclosed space so I want to get as much into the frame as I Poss possibly can all right so jumping right into the review let's talk about the vanre on dash X2 dash cam it's actually sitting above you guys right now and I got to say overall I'm very pleased with it this is actually quite similar to the first vanre uh dash cam that I talked about a while ago and well this one's just better it's more compact adds more features and it works just as well in my opinion so let's go over some features first up guys let's talk about video resolution this thing records in an awesome resol resolution of 2560 by 1440 at 30 frames per second yes that's Quad HD 1440p resolution which makes me very happy but not only that you can also record a 1920x 1080 at 60 frames per second so if you like that buttery smooth action Boom the vro X2 does just that but of course video is just beginning the on dash X2 does much more than that for example it can take snapshots automatically in 16 megapixel resolution this is very handy if you want to get snapshots of someone's license plate just in case in the event of well an accident because let's face it stuff like this does happen and that's why having a dash cam is extremely important especially if you take it to court you really can't argue with that kind of evidence all right so going back to video for a seconds the ultra wide angle lens captures plenty of video so again if something does happen you don't have to worry about it missing the shots I can guarantee you the on dash X2 gets plenty information within frame and finally speaking in terms of performance I do want to mention this because apparently it's a big deal I don't know much about the CPU but it's a big deal according to uh Ventry's website the on Das X2 does feature the amberella a12 CPU now again I don't know much about this but apparently that's a very good thing so hey I'm not going to argue it overall I got to say I'm very happy with the design it's slim it's easy to hold if you need to the onboard controls are easy to understand and you got plenty of menus to go through I never really had any troubles with it and of course I do have to mention this the onboard display is easy to see from pretty sharp viewing angles now I'm not saying you should be watching the screen because you should always be focusing on what's in front of you no matter what but with that said in case you do need to glance at the screen now and then you're not going to have any hard time seeing details and finally the setup process is incredibly simple you plug in the included USB cable pop in your own micro SD card and boom you're you're ready to go now talking about some of my favorite features these are the things that I enjoyed most the parking mode feature actually Auto stops and auto starts recording even though you're not in the car so for example if I go on the waa get my typical coffee get a hogy get whatever and I Take 5 minutes the on dash x2 in theory will continue to record God forbid something happens outside of my car even when I'm not inside of it boom it's going to be captured on video and I think that's a big deal and there's also any mer mergency mode so if something does happen you can instantly save a video file in any vent folder so basically that video file will not be overwritten all right so currently I'm just using a 16 GB SD card which is plenty of space for what I'm using this for but it does support up to 64 GB which in my opinion is plenty of space and last but not least this isn't something I got the chance to use but the old Dash X2 does support GPS okay so this does require a separate accessory you got to love when people are outside when you're trying to make video they probably think you're crazy anyway this GPS accessory allows you to track your driving route and your driving speed now let's talk about cost it currently sells for $169 on Amazon as of this recording if you ask me $169 for piece of mind I don't think that's that bad let's just say this I've paid more for less and if you drive often well then I think it's easily worth the price all right so this is the problem with recording videos outside I got bugs coming in the car people talking outside all these distractions overall I'm very pleased with the VRE on dash X2 Dash gam and I think you'll be pleased as well huge thanks to VRE for making this video possible I really appreciate it and I'll see you guys very soon peace awe're going to have to cool the environment down for this one just
