The Gift that Keeps on Giving: Turbo Suits and Super Cars

We still have to do a video just because we got another present from you, which is like, the gift that keeps on giving, uh turbo suits, yeah, yeah, no. I mean, like you guys are going to do really, really good with it, um, i'm excited about it, yeah, yeah, i think it'll be fun, but no, always a good time seeing you and tell me about this thing right here so i know you know on our channel you guys know us as Turbo Hondas, whatever, but freddie is into super cars rebuilding them and i appreciate the hard work and this car is absolutely beautiful. I know you got this thing, is like not this good looking, no, no it was crashed everywhere, uh needed carbon damage, i had needed carbon work because, uh, the tub was cracked, uh needed engine damage, the engine like splew into the firewall, it cracked part of the block, um it needed wiring work, it didn't run, uh turbo was, uh destroyed, so we just rebuilt everything over the course of two years and honestly, i mean this is basically like it's like two case k-series, like kind of welded together, it's a 3.8, so that's a good way to yeah describe it, it's like it's like two b18s or i don't even know what's what's a one there's no 1.9 anyway, uh between a b18 and a k20, yeah exactly, uh with with a little like actually the turbo is a td04, uh so it's the same turbo as like you know, like you get on an evo, it's just like a really big housing, well dude this thing is absolutely gorgeous, and i just, dude, you know i've followed you along from when you started, and we've talked, you know back when you had that crappy mr2, you're, you're gonna gift it to us, yeah, i was like, i don't want that thing, yeah, like no, i'm good, i'm good.

To see how far you've come, especially like with the freedom civic and stuff, and now you're doing all this crazy stuff, dude, how far i've come, how far you come, holy crap, you got an nsx, it's the fastest in the world, you got this mr2 that does like crazy wheelies, you have all this, you have a van that's there's no other van that's faster than that, right, it has to be the fastest band in the world, i mean, i don't know, i mean hey, we can see if it's faster than this, it's the best one on youtube, this is gonna your van's gonna be faster than this, i'm calling you out, right now, route c versus the mclaren, we can, we can do it, it's not done yet, but it will be soon, i mean neither neither is this, but um honestly if we'd have to do let's do a drag race, right which you'll probably win, uh but then we can do like an autocross or we could take it to an actual track, okay, one second, we'll see, yeah, let's do that, you're gonna take it to the firm, or something, we should, you know, you're gonna beat me and it's gonna be great and you know like i just i it's going to be fun, it's going to be fun, i always get running into you man that's one of my favorite things about coming out here is just seeing everyone out and i've met so many people and i got to show this guy too, he's over here hanging out, first time meeting jimmy, okay, shut up guys, i thought we were friends, no, we are, we love you, what's up, but yeah, ran into you maybe an hour ago, yeah, yeah, and now we're best friends, yeah, yeah, me and jimmy hit it off, yeah, we got to link up, go see the uh k-swap 240. let's do it, that'd be awesome, is your 240 still running, uh, it is, i want to drive everything bad then come on down and it's kind of janky but you're more than welcome and that is steven he's uh with rich rebuilds as well helped with the the whole v8 tesla deal he's kind of a big deal just getting this video wrapped up boys, i know it's been a minute since we posted um actually uploading from a mcdonald's right now but we had a blast at sema, i didn't want to film you know way too much but i definitely you know had a great time meeting everybody we had a blast and there was way more that we should have probably probably filmed and edited into the video.

vehicles but brent had an opportunity to come out here got some tickets and stuff with pri and invited us to come with him so we're gonna be hanging out and i'm really excited to meet a lot of creators and stuff that are going to be at the event because there's still so many people we haven't met and i know there's going to be a lot at sema so we're excited to be here we just got an uber woke up super early we're going to be going on a little trip for the next about a week because after this we'll be going to world cup so uh yeah once we find our uber over here we'll be on our way all right guys we made it into sema after a very long wait very long line we figured it out they said i was from afghanistan on my name tag but we got that fixed it's from colorado now we're on team pfi and uh yeah we're just gonna hang out check this place out first time here this is pretty wild so we stopped by the turbo smart booth over here as you guys know we have the fancy 60mm electronic gate on the mr2 oh they got the dials to control it and then they said they got this new one right here what is this guy 50 mil straight through that is nice so you already have the electronic gate right yes the straight gate is basically a straight version of that right traditionally our puppet style has a traditional wastegate where if that valve opens it jumps pressure so you're always chasing that pressure but with our straight gate design not only is it smaller and more compact than our standard you know you know electronic wastegate but it gives you the ability to have full linear control so this is the highest flowing wastegate in the industry by far you know it's more compact and with that butterfly valve design you're able to control the amount of dump pressure that you're pushing out so that turbo speed is always going to be more consistent giving you a linear control so in our testing we were able to kind of do like from one to two psi to three psi and keep it linear all the way you know across the whole rpm range which is pretty pretty impressive the response of a small wastegate with the flow of the bigger one so it actually outflows our 16. that's right that's really the the the number right there is where what size do i really need and i'm not going to say this is the one size fits all we're probably going to make more versions for probably different sizes of it but i will say that this has the control of a 40 millimeter wastegate of a comp gate and with the flow of a 60 millimeter and it actually outflows it so it's pretty amazing that's pretty crazy so does that still just go in place on a standard turbo manifold yeah it's just straight through not a 90. i'm sure that helps a lot with the flow oh yeah straight through straight through 100 so you know more you don't have to go through the 90 you don't have to get past the valve it just goes straight through you're able to control it and uh this is three times as it was actually six times as fast as this we actually had to slow it down a little bit but that's how strong it is and in terms of being able to handle pressure it can handle an excess of 80 psi of you know exhaust pressure if we have any future builds we might have to try that guy out that looks fancy straight through wastegate electronic through turbosmart bands so like you already have smart okay it's gonna be the same flange as uh as that outlet on a 60 millimeter so it's a 50 millimeter but same size as this that is sick turbosmart over here changing the game boys you guys know how well this one works on the mr2 and they got this guy they're already upgrading that thing goes so fast yeah it's actually it's it's two times faster than your gate okay and that was already really down that's cool new nsx type s i think we should get one and make it do wheelies too no i like the vintage one better honestly it is pretty sick though maybe one day we'll be that balling sorry i think if i'm gonna go with a car like that minutes of walking isn't that something that is crazy and you did it in an air conditioning environment in the comfort of a tesla that's like the more the boring deal yeah that's the actual boring bit but seeing it in person this thing is pretty wild and that is the same size turbo that we have on the route to see but he has it up above a 2jz in a lamborghini with the titanium exhaust out the back this thing is pretty wild the suspension is something isn't it the rockers looks like shawn's steering on there yeah the suspension's pretty wild look at that there's a lever to a lever oh this is a really cool car the turbo is freaking massive this would be right up your alley absolutely freaking dude everything here is just on another level look at this thing what kind of wheels are those you got the nitrous bottle down there pretty sick though so he was badass all right guys so out of all the projects here i am probably most excited to see this ls swap tesla right here you guys know who this belongs to this belongs to mr rich rebuilds this is our first time meeting actually it's been great talking to you and uh dude give me a quick walk around on this thing because yeah sure i don't think you've shown you know what this thing looks like yet i've actually saw it in person i was blown away this thing looks so good the last time we left off i had the stock oem tussle wheels uh stock close attention on the model s as well as i mean there was no engine in there either but since then we've come a long way the engine is from a chevy camaro ss 2011 it's an ls3 completely stock top to bottom uh the suspension is now it's on airbags right now uh it's was wrapped a copper brown which normally isn't my style all my cars usually like it's not really supposed to match the color iced tea i saw your post that was that's its name yeah so the car's name is iced tea so we wrap the car the color of iced tea and ice c is an acronym it stands for internal combustion engine tesla so like the whole theme is pretty much you know to be a homage to uh to uh to v8 muscle even the wheels too the wells the weld chrome wheels uh that's the tap of the hat to uh to mustangs and camaros that have like the bead locks in the back and stuff so we're bringing the whole theme to the car wherever we can i also brought the same color of the wrap onto the headlights blacked the headlights out um this this thing was it was crazy uh this is only a stage one of the build uh the engine's completely stock and uh i think it's at some point in the future what we'll do is we'll um we'll add a supercharger uh a built motor and we'll go from there but the first stage was primarily just to get the car going first so right now it probably makes a little less horsepower than it did yeah but i'm really curious because now the um now the uh what do you call it uh we don't know how much it weighs yet so we're not really sure if it's lighter than a stock camaro or heavier but this shell is all aluminum and uh we cut out so much of the car it definitely weighs less than a tesla it might actually be quicker than a camaro ss i'm not really sure it's getting more air dynamics you're gonna have to go find one and line them up i have to find it i think you kind of saw camaro which is almost impossible yeah much of the uh tesla stuff actually still works so like as far as the computer screen all that was part of the main goal all of the tesla stuff still works you look on the inside right okay look at the inside everything is oem the only thing you'd be able to tell something is up that looks so good yeah i see the the sequential s1 shifter but the craziest part is this this never exists that's a hand that's a hand crafted aluminum transmission tunnel because the tesla doesn't have a tunnel it's a flat floor so um we had our fabricator joshua he's somewhere around here uh he fabricated a crazy transmission tunnel and we carpeted it so again like a lot of people just walk past this car thinking to themselves oh it's just some like you know pontiac g8 or whatever v8 uh engine four-wheel drive car uh four-door car but it's actually a tesla it looks so clean up front people don't know what they're looking at but even on the inside too again you have the high-tech screen everything looks pretty pretty clean yeah it looks so good it also smells nice in there you got the black ice air freshener that's the one that's the one so if you look on the inside too there's a small red dial right there okay that tells you what gear you're in with the sequential potential there's no feeling to tell you what gear you're in exactly cause the manual transmission you have you know up and to the left is usually you know like first gear yeah like that second with the sequential you're kind of going back and forth you don't know where you are yeah we're very familiar with the sequentials we got the same indicator you know this exactly you know how it is too yep right i really love the sequence people that watching they might not really know but like this is perfect hey i've not got to meet you yet let's do it right here oh yeah real time this is what's happening this is awesome yeah so so yeah so we have the uh the small gauge that controls the airbag system too we can control each wheel independently we do the side by side up and down and in the back on this side right here again back to oem that's the fuel cap that's how you fill it up uh that's the originally what the charge port was for the tesla but you know so that goes into the gas tank now it goes right into the gas tank which is a fuel cell one of the first teslas to take the gas the only one and uh the fuel cell fuel pump there's actually three fuel pumps with a lift pump in this so when we actually go for more horsepower this is more capable of handling it uh battery relocated to the rear along with the uh the custom fuse block and on this side right here again another access panel and this is the master cut-off switch on off switch take this thing to the drag strip to kill the power of the car yeah the safety things you'll need all this is already ready right there so yeah that's that's pretty much the car man it's it's on bags you can't see any of the air suspension system uh because everything was mounted under this on the rear seats where normally the uh the charges for the car are so this is uh we want to look as clean as we can and i think we accomplished it dude i think you guys did a killer job it looks amazing you guys have it over here at the vibrant booth as you guys know we have done some stuff with vibrant as well and i've got to meet the guys over here vibrant performance so it's awesome man awesome really good to meet you as well thank you buddy appreciate it there he lot of people i've wanted to meet out here so it's been cool i mean that's what's cool about this thing because it's it's not just racing people i mean you get every kind of car person there is there at sema show and so uh the boosted boys definitely needed to be here without a doubt because you've got to probably meet a lot of people that like i've seen that guy or i've seen his work and i want to see his cars and i mean just like right here i was just getting ready to walk right through here chip boost everywhere you know and where else are you going to get that you know it's sema show i love it yeah that's why i eat up with it it's like we need to figure out what we need to do to get our own little spot yes we do maybe one day we'll be on that level we can make that happen you know what we can figure that out we'll we'll get the uh the boosted boys logo on the top field car and maybe next year we'll just spring the mr2 and have the top fuel car right side by side that would be pretty awesome maybe a little prop under the mr2 so it looks like it's constant like in a wheelie in a wheelie like we make a little stand for it yeah or we we can even do that a little bit with the dragster we had some wheelie action happening at bristol uh which we didn't want kind of like you and the amount too but it's not good the mr2 we all know is uh bad to the bone ride but uh the nsx was shocking holy crap dude that thing's fast we had no idea i mean i'm out here looking for another nsx shell because now i want to have a i want a real nsx i think you got a pretty fast one already but you know what surprises me is um the motor in that thing must be it's got to have a little more done to it than maybe what you thought no no just steel rod css around the sleeves like it's nothing fancy that thing's fast i cannot wait to uh come rip in that thing with you and i've been beating them down you come down you've got to get a ride for sure yeah i've been beating o'donnell already the motor and we'll go from there but the first stage was primarily just to get the car going first so right now it probably makes a little less horsepower than it did yeah but i'm really curious because now the um now the uh what do you call it uh we don't know how much it weighs yet so we're not really sure if it's lighter than a stock camaro or heavier but this shell is all aluminum and uh we cut out so much of the car it definitely weighs less than a tesla it might actually be quicker than a camaro ss i'm not really sure it's getting more air dynamics you're gonna have to go find one and line them up i have to find it i think you kind of saw camaro which is almost impossible yeah much of the uh tesla stuff actually still works so like as far as the computer screen all that was part of the main goal all of the tesla stuff still works you look on the inside right okay look at the inside everything is oem the only thing you'd be able to tell something is up that looks so good yeah i see the the sequential s1 shifter but the craziest part is this this never exists that's a hand that's a hand crafted aluminum transmission tunnel because the tesla doesn't have a tunnel it's a flat floor so um we had our fabricator joshua he's somewhere around here uh he fabricated a crazy transmission tunnel and we carpeted it so again like a lot of people just walk past this car thinking to themselves oh it's just some like you know pontiac g8 or whatever v8 uh engine four-wheel drive car uh four-door car but it's actually a tesla it looks so clean up front people don't know what they're looking at but even on the inside too again you have the high-tech screen everything looks pretty pretty clean yeah it looks so good it also smells nice in there you got the black ice air freshener that's the one that's the one so if you look on the inside too there's a small red dial right there okay that tells you what gear you're in with the sequential potential there's no feeling to tell you what gear you're in exactly cause the manual transmission you have you know up and to the left is usually you know like first gear yeah like that second with the sequential you're kind of going back and forth you don't know where you are yeah we're very familiar with the sequentials we got the same indicator you know this exactly you know how it is too yep right i really love the sequence people that watching they might not really know but like this is perfect hey i've not got to meet you yet let's do it right here oh yeah real time this is what's happening this is awesome yeah so so yeah so we have the uh the small gauge that controls the airbag system too we can control each wheel independently we do the side by side up and down and in the back on this side right here again back to oem that's the fuel cap that's how you fill it up uh that's the originally what the charge port was for the tesla but you know so that goes into the gas tank now it goes right into the gas tank which is a fuel cell one of the first teslas to take the gas the only one and uh the fuel cell fuel pump there's actually three fuel pumps with a lift pump in this so when we actually go for more horsepower this is more capable of handling it uh battery relocated to the rear along with the uh the custom fuse block and on this side right here again another access panel and this is the master cut-off switch on off switch take this thing to the drag strip to kill the power of the car yeah the safety things you'll need all this is already ready right there so yeah that's that's pretty much the car man it's it's on bags you can't see any of the air suspension system uh because everything was mounted under this on the rear seats where normally the uh the charges for the car are so this is uh we want to look as clean as we can and i think we accomplished it dude i think you guys did a killer job it looks amazing you guys have it over here at the vibrant booth as you guys know we have done some stuff with vibrant as well and i've got to meet the guys over here vibrant performance so it's awesome man awesome really good to meet you as well thank you buddy appreciate it there he is what's up buddy me you know how much is going on and my schedule is like a little here a little there and it's like lots of walking here on display with the top fuel car somewhere well it's been me on display but i'm having a blast uh i basically went and crashed brent's uh you know price party over there and i hung out with him and you know trying to spread that message on the rpm act we all know how important that is and why it has been everywhere yeah i know you and him met up earlier yes definitely yeah we both just been walking around checking it out it is meeting new people i met a lot of people i've wanted to meet out here so it's been cool i mean that's what's cool about this thing because it's it's not just racing people i mean you get every kind of car person there is there at sema show and so uh the boosted boys definitely needed to be here without a doubt because you've got to probably meet a lot of people that like i've seen that guy or i've seen his work and i want to see his cars and i mean just like right here i was just getting ready to walk right through here chip boost everywhere you know and where else are you going to get that you know it's sema show i love it yeah that's why i eat up with it it's like we need to figure out what we need to do to get our own little spot yes we do maybe one day we'll be on that level we can make that happen you know what we can figure that out we'll we'll get the uh the boosted boys logo on the top field car and maybe next year we'll just spring the mr2 and have the top fuel car right side by side that would be pretty awesome maybe a little prop under the mr2 so it looks like it's constant like in a wheelie in a wheelie like we make a little stand for it yeah or we we can even do that a little bit with the dragster we had some wheelie action happening at bristol uh which we didn't want kind of like you and the amount too but it's not good the mr2 we all know is uh bad to the bone ride but uh the nsx was shocking holy crap dude that thing's fast we had no idea i mean i'm out here looking for another nsx shell because now i want to have a i want a real nsx i think you got a pretty fast one already but you know what surprises me is um the motor in that thing must be it's got to have a little more done to it than maybe what you thought no no just steel rod css around the sleeves like it's nothing fancy that thing's fast i cannot wait to uh come rip in that thing with you and i've been beating them down you come down you've got to get a ride for sure yeah i've been beating o'donnell already the race season's almost over i think we need to load the dogs up in the toader home and uh head to the boosted boy compound because donald loves florida great time i think we got to do that that'd be awesome you're always invited i appreciate it god it's good to see you buddy yeah you too man so i just ran into clay milliken i was making my way over here to the chip foose section they got all of these cars lined out he has a big area over here and uh yeah the quality of builds here is insane it'd be really cool if we got onto the level to where we could bring some of our builds here but we are nowhere near the level of builds that show up to this place but seeing all this stuff in person is just really cool i remember watching the show back when i was younger i forgot the name of it that chip boost was in where they steal the car and uh he was overhauling believe that's the name of the show but i remember watching that and seeing all the crazy stuff they would do so seeing all this stuff in person is crazy i think like west coast customs is here just all the big names and like i said this is our first time out here at sema so for us it's pretty pretty wild i don't know if it's really our scene but if we ever got to the level to where we could have quality builds and something we'd be proud to show off here or even just being able to be invited out here i would definitely be about it but a whole nother level guys this is crazy so ran into tavares over here i mean you guys actually i didn't show it yet you gave us a present that i haven't talked about yet some of you guys have seen it in the background we'll have to show it later we're talking about the president you guys are we talking about the pres okay at the freedom factory that that is the best present that anyone's ever gotten i mean i feel like such a good person for giving that to you so you gave the freedom civic to cletus and yeah it got handed down to us and then yeah we got another present from you we still got to do a video just the gift that keeps on giving uh turbo suits yeah yeah no i mean like you guys are going to do like really really good with it um i'm excited about yeah yeah i think it'll be fun but no always a good time seeing you and tell me about this thing right here so i know you know on our channel you guys know us turbo hondas whatever but freddie is into supercars rebuilding them and i appreciate the hard work and this car is absolutely beautiful i know you got this thing is like not this good looking no no it was crashed everywhere uh needed carbon damage i had needed carbon work because uh the tub was cracked uh needed engine damage the engine like splew into the firewall it cracked part of the block um it needed wiring work it didn't run uh turbo was uh destroyed so we just rebuilt everything over the course of two years and honestly i mean this is basically like it's like two case k series like kind of welded together it's a 3.8 so that's a good way to yeah describe it it's like it's like two b18s or i don't even know what's what's a one there's no 1.9 anyway uh between a b18 and a k20 yeah exactly uh with with a little like actually the turbo is a td04 uh so it's the same turbo as like you know like you get on an evo it's just like a really big housing well dude this thing is absolutely gorgeous and i just dude you know i've followed you along from when you started and we've talked you know back when you had that crappy mr2 you're you're gonna gift it to us yeah i was like i don't want that thing yeah like no i'm good i'm good to see how far you've come especially like with the freedom civic and stuff and now you're doing all this crazy stuff dude how far i've come how far you come holy crap you got an nsx it's the fastest in the world you got this mr2 that does like crazy wheelies you have all this you have a van that's there's no other van that's faster than that right it has to be the fastest band in the world i mean i don't know i mean hey we can see if it's faster than this it's the best one on youtube this is gonna your van's gonna be faster than this i'm calling you out right now route c versus the mclaren we can we can do it it's not done yet but it will be soon i mean neither neither is this but um honestly if we'd have to do let's do a drag race right which you'll probably win uh but then we can do like an autocross or we could take it to an actual track okay one second we'll see yeah let's do that you're gonna take it to the firm or something we should you should definitely you're gonna beat me and
