Is the Nvidia RTX 2060 enough for 1080P 144 FPS? (Ft. Zotac RTX 2060)

The RT X 2060: Is it Good Enough for High Refresh Rate 1080p Gaming?

In this video, I'll be putting the RT X 2060 through its paces to see if it's good enough for high refresh rate 1080p gaming. But before we dive in, let me just say that my test setup is a bit different from some of the other reviewers out there.

So, I was using an Intel i5 7600 K, overclocked to four point eight gigahertz, which is the best gaming CPU I have available. Honestly, it was a little bit of a bottleneck here and there, you could occasionally see the CPU usage hit a hundred percent, but it didn't fly to a hundred percent and stay pegged there. So, it wasn't a massive bottleneck, but you could get slightly better results than I have if you have a better gaming CPU, something like an 80 700 K or you know any other better gaming CPU.

I was using 16 gigs of DDR 4 overclocked to 26 66 megahertz and all of the tests were run in an NZXT H 500. Now, let's move on to the benchmarks. This is the exciting bit now, again I just want to point out that there was some CPU bottlenecks in some of these situations, but I want to see the frame rates don't look bad.

Especially when you look at the kind of games like first-person shooter games I do think that you should take into account the one-percent lows in 0.1 percent those because they're quite important at this high frame rate because any tips below like a hundred frames per second was quite noticeable although if you want to really in-depth discussion on this topic have a look at an optimum tech video that I've linked in the description below where he talks about kind of like frame time performance and how it feels on higher refresh rate monitors. I really would recommend having a look at that video because he deals with it in more detail than I'm going to look at it here.

And now, let's look at a better representation of performance while gaming which is a frame time graph. Now, this is a frame time graph of me just kind of doing a basic run in Apex legends and honestly, it looks really good. There's very small variations that first bump that you see in the beginning was just when I started the recording so that usually has a bit of an effect.

But don't suck that you don't get 144 frames per second and unfortunately, you're gonna have to spend a lot more on both the graphics card and the CPU to get that kind of framerate consistently. And that's one of the biggest problems with high refresh rate gaming is that it also puts a very big load on your CPU.

In conclusion, is the RT X 2060 good enough for high refresh rate 1080p gaming? I'd say it is. You're not going to be playing games like Metro Exodus at 144 frames per second, I don't even think an RT x20 ATT can do that at 1080p fast-paced multiplayer shooters like Apex Legends pop G fortnight even CSGO which performs really well at everything but those games where the high refresh rate really matters.

The graphics card gets close enough it doesn't give you like perfect world 144 frames per second average with a 0.1 low of like 140 frames per second but it is good enough for you to get a really good gaming experience. I still think that the RT X 2060 is too expensive if they brought the price down to closer to a hundred and eighty dollars, I think it would be more worth it.

But I don't want to talk too much about the state of the graph is called market at the moment because it's gonna veer a bit off-topic especially considering that up-and-coming caster in this market segment. Well, this is just gonna be way too many options and no one's gonna know what to buy. It's it's really crazy.

I'm gonna do a separate video on that actually because I don't I want to spend more time on that topic so that we can have a discussion in the comment section as well. Anyway, with that thank you very much for watching if you liked the video do like and subscribe to the channel for more videos like this one and until the next one bye.
