The Emulation Station: A Guide to Running Sega Master System and Genesis Games on Raspberry Pi 3 with Retropie
Hey what's going on guys, it's ETA Prime back here again with the Raspberry Pi running retropie, which is an emulation station operating system, I guess for your Raspberry Pi one two three or PI zero. I have noticed that the PI three runs a lot better all the emulators run smoother, I can actually run PSP and PlayStation one with no problems at all now now this Raspberry Pi 3 has a quad-core 64 bit 1.2 gigahertz processor with one gigabyte of RAM it also has onboard Bluetooth and onboard Wi-Fi which is awesome.
I'm gonna today show you guys some sega master system or sega genesis as we know here in the states running then go ahead and do some Streets of Rage I also have some tutorial videos coming up for you guys on how to get your Gameboy advanced your MAME your PlayStation 1 your Dreamcast BIOS and get them up get the controller setup get everything running fine so keep tuned for those. But what happened, oh I didn't press ok Blaise guys for some reason I remember this looking a lot better I don't know if this is just because it's the master system or Genesis port I think I remember playing this in the arcade and it was it just looked a lot better than this to me I might be thinking of another game but so this is running pretty well you can scale it to full screen if you'd like.
I really like leaving it like this just because when you go to fullscreen widescreen on these old console emulators it really stretches out the pixels and looks kind of weird, oh yeah broken bottle to the face ah cool I kept my bottle just gonna stab all these guys alright so I'm gonna go ahead and get to another game to exit out of the emulator you just go ahead and press Start and select on your controller I got a wired xbox360 controller right now.
Another cool game was I don't know Strider I'm not sure and I hit the wrong button here I'm not sure if I ever played this no I never played this game guys and I know I've heard a Strider and everything but what is going on why am I still blinking oh I don't know if that's emulator lag or that's just how he flips if you guys know if you played this on a real console leave your comments in the description here. But man he flips slow but if it is just the way it's supposed to be programmed this does run pretty well let me go ahead and get to a different game that Hyden and familiar with the performance on so I can tell you if it's messed up or not.
And that's some Robocop 3 I used to get all the best games from Blockbuster when I had my Sega Genesis yes so yeah if you want to play any of the Sega Master System or Sega Genesis games on your Raspberry Pi 3 with retro pie and go ahead they will work perfectly. I don't have many games to copy roms from so these are what I'm left with and I noticed at the bottom there my health bar and everything's covered up it's a graphical glitch with the possibly the rom I'm not sure so let me get out of here but they do run at full speed and they run pretty well so I'm pretty sure most Genesis games will work or make Sega Master System games.
So if you guys got any comments questions let me know send me a private message or leave a comment down below if you guys could if this helped you out at all or if you just like watching it hit that like button and subscribe thanks for watching
