**Unboxing the 27-Inch iMac: A Closer Look**
As I carefully slice through the tape that wraps around my new 27-inch iMac, I'm immediately struck by its massive size and weight. The computer itself weighs about 42 pounds, but the entire box is much heavier due to the Styrofoam corners and padding used to protect it during shipping. With a little bit of maneuvering, I'm able to pry the iMac out of its enclosure and begin our unboxing process.
**The Packaging**
The packaging for my new iMac is, as expected, straightforward and minimalist. The front of the box features a prominent image of the 27-inch iMac, with details such as its high-resolution display (2560 x 1440) and backlit LED screen prominently displayed. On the sides of the box, we see images of the wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse that come bundled with the computer. There's also a small inset on one side that provides some technical specifications and storage information for the iMac.
**The Computer Itself**
With all the packaging out of the way, I'm left with just the iMac itself to examine. The first thing that strikes me is how large it is - at 27 inches, it's one of the largest consumer-grade monitors on the market. The iMac's design is sleek and minimalist, with a focus on showcasing its beautiful display. As I spin around the computer to take a closer look, I notice some details such as the SuperDrive (which is useful for those who still need to burn CDs or DVDs), an SD card slot (now capable of accepting higher-capacity SDXC cards), and a headphone jack.
**Tears Off the Sticker**
As I reach around to remove the final sticker that seals the iMac's display, I catch a glimpse of its beautiful screen for the first time. The monitor is incredibly bright and vibrant, with deep blacks and vivid colors. It's clear that Apple has made some real strides in terms of display technology since my previous iMac model.
**Unpacking and Setup**
With the iMac unpacked and laid out on the table, I'm eager to start setting it up and running some benchmarks. First things first, I need to plug in the power cord and boot up the computer. The setup process is straightforward, although I do appreciate the inclusion of a battery charger for the wireless keyboard - it's not something we've seen from Apple before.
**Getting Started**
As I continue to explore my new 27-inch iMac, I start to get excited about all the potential it offers. From running demanding benchmarks and stress tests to using it as a creative tool for video editing or graphic design, this computer has a lot of potential. Stay tuned for our upcoming videos and articles, where we'll delve deeper into the world of this powerful machine and explore its capabilities in more detail.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up everyone jon rettinger from technobuffalo here with an unboxing that i am really excited about it is my new desktop it is a 27-inch imac let's go ahead and dig in and talk about the specs all right so we are looking at a brand new mid 2010 refresh 27 inch imac with intel's core i7 a quad core processor clocked at 2.93 gigahertz with eight megabytes of level three cache hyper threading and turbo boost all that stuff i'll talk about in a later video the ati radeon hd 5750 with one gigabyte of gddr5 memory and an sdxc slot uh this particular one i custom built it's got a two terabyte hard drive at 7 200 rpms as well as a secondary 256 gigabyte solid state drive so enough talking about it let's go ahead and dig in and see what this sucker looks like i'm very excited to uh take a look i have an imac right now at 24 inch which is getting to be a bit slow hard drive got filled up and i wasn't quite doing what i needed to do as far as video processing and rendering obviously i do a lot of video work and i did something just a bit faster so of course we'll use the obligatory big knife and cut into this monster cardboard box go ahead and slice the tape and not my fingers one of these days though this knife is going to take me down from 10 fingers to 9. go ahead and do a few more cuts and we should be good to go all right push that off to the side here we have the imac in a massive box this thing weighs about 42 pounds the whole box of the imax really weighs less let's go ahead and see if i can pull it out of here just harder than you might think little one fancy one-handed maneuvering there we go push the box off to the side and here we have the 27-inch imac packaging uh it's pretty straightforward what you'd expect from the imac boxes of the past years it's got a picture of the imac on the front in this case of course it's the 27 inch it's a backlit led display with a resolution of 200 i'm sorry 2560 by 1440. uh it's a really high resolution screen let's go ahead and see what else we got on top you have a picture of the imac but you know it comes with the wireless keyboard and the magic mouse another picture of the imac on the front on the sides telling you know that 16x9 widescreen led backlit display we just talked about wireless keyboard and the magic mouse on the other side we've got us a bit about the specs and some upc information but let's go ahead and check out the computer itself and of course i'll be doing comparisons with my older imac i'll be showing uh processing speeds i'll run all kinds of bench tests and show you guys how this works how it compares and also show you the benefits or not benefits possibly of the solid state drive coupled with uh the spinning 7200 rpm two terabyte drive curious how apple sets that up so we'll go ahead and slice the tape here and open up the new imac there we go all right knife off to the side for the last time and this is a quite a large box so we've got the design by apple in california so what you'd expect with a new computer it's going to have we've got the wireless keyboard pretty standard we've seen that many many times it actually comes with a battery charger i didn't know that they had uh had done that kind of neat uh we also have a magic mouse and a cleaning cloth actually i ordered the battery charge kind of they put it in the box here we've got uh everything mac which is going to have all of your disks and backup information and that looks like it is about it push everything off to the side and let's go ahead and dig in and see what the computer itself looks like we'll come back and use that keyboard and such later uh getting this out we proved to be quite difficult you've got some styrofoam little corners here push those off to the side off to the side inside the box it's pretty sparse uh save for the uh giant looking imac itself go ahead and try and pull it out of here there we go let's go ahead and push this down on the floor we've got a few other things in the box we've got a power cord and some more styrofoam corners and that is about it all right let's go ahead and take a look at the imac itself i'm gonna push the camera down a little bit more push this off to the side take off that starter from the corner here we've got the 27 inch imac a little bit of a cloth on it and pull this off there's a sticker in the back we'll break that seal it's probably the last time i'll ever see this screen smudge free go ahead and peel this off and here we've got uh the pretty standard looking 27 inch imac the isi camera go ahead and spin it around and see what else we have nothing here on the left hand side on the right hand side of course you've got your superdrive and there is the sd card slot which is now sdxc so it can accept a pretty high storage capacity continuing the tour on the back it's now silver compared to the black model that i previously had you can turn it over and take a look at the quartz here we've got well you can see that and see me we've got headphone in audio in and out three usb ports firewire mini dvi and your ethernet port so guys stay tuned to the channel and technobuff we'll be running a ton of tests on the 27 inch this is the uh top of the imac line to see if it's worth the money or not and maybe better off with the i3 and we'll put the solid state drive to the test anyway guys i am jon rettinger from technobuffalo and stay tuned for all those videos and i'll see you in the next one bye youwhat's up everyone jon rettinger from technobuffalo here with an
