my desktop here's the thing if you're looking for a cpu and a lot from history right now we're already shown that like the 8 core amd ryzen is roughly equivalent to the degeneration after it in six cores so what's common is like the 1700 was about equivalent in multi-threaded performance but would lose in gaming performance to the 2600 and that happened again with the 3600 versus the the the 5800x well here we are looking at the 5600x versus the 3700x well you you put that into google just like i did right up here 5600x versus 3700x and i'm sure you'll get a bunch of videos on that but if somebody doesn't have time to watch videos they'll scroll down and look at this the first result is from user benchmark so let's click it and have a look you scroll down here 3700x versus 5600x is a really good question especially at their respective price points since they're so close to each other do you want the higher frequency six core or the slower but more cores uh eight core it's a pretty good question yeah it really depends on what you're doing however when you scroll down and you're looking at the differences and all this stuff right here you keep scrolling down then you get to the articles section uh let me just read for you real quick how the articles look like the 3700x is a 320.8 core 16 thread mid-range ryzen 3000 series cpu out of the box the 3700x 3600x and 3600 achieve similar quad-core speeds but but the 1600 threaded 16 threaded 3700x is 30 percent faster at multi-core computations than the 12 threaded 3600x comparing the 3700x into 9700k shows that when overclocked the 3700x is 26 faster as 64 core computations but 13 slower for gaming and desktop in sub 8 core performance unlike lower and ryzen 3000 skus the 3700x comes with a half decent cooler but amd should not have bothered since a 20 aftermark cooler is still quieter easier to change and better at cooling with the gammaxx 400 cooler we were able to maintain a 43.25 x oc during our efp tests we had to use a fixed clocked oc rather than offset or or pbo to avoid significant frame drops in fortnight with strong single core scores the 3700x should offer very strong gaming performance but in reality it is let down by its memory controller which although significantly improved over previous ryzen iterations still has limited bandwidth and high latency the heavily hyped 3700x paired with a 2060 super offers real world gaming performance comparable to the 80 dollar entry level 4 core 4 threaded i3 9100f at the 3700x offers reasonable value to full-time media encoders but general desktop users gamers and even streamers should look elsewhere even streamers should look elsewhere from an 8-core cpu streaming with dedicated hardware such as nvec or a separate stream pc will nearly always result in fewer dropped frames the 3700x severely bottlenecks a 2070 super gamers should investigate the 9600k which is both cheaper and faster hold up the fanboyism is deep in this one this person must have i3 9th gen or other 9th gen intel stuff they're talking trash on the encoder included cooler which is for a 3700 x sure it's just okay but it's actually decent for the six core 12 threaded cpu which is roughly equivalent in gaming performance as the 3700x that being the to 3600x but it's a nice add-in and as you can see now amd at this point don't include the cooler in that skew and the price didn't really change so it's not like you can argue back then that they would have lowered the price had they not included it it's a free bonus and that you could use it with other stuff like let's say you build a uh pc with a lower end ryzen 5 3600 but you want the nicer wraith prism from the 3700x hey there you go free cooler it's just it's included it's a nice add-on and sure better coolers are better but that's just how it is but to trash to specifically call it out on there it's just kind of annoying like uh really like it's really nitpicky now they have the 3700x saying blah blah blah it's bottlenecking a 2070 super a 3700x is not bottlenecking at 2070 super it all depends on the games you're looking at though this person seemed to be focused on fortnite and other sort of let's say easy to run high fps games something like cs go maybe as well and sure intel has advantages there at that generation of amd but amd was pretty close back then and they've now surpassed that with the newer generation this person is saying to get a 9600k over a 3700x even if you're a streamer he says that's ridiculous that's absolutely ridiculous you need the best of both worlds if you're going to be streaming you don't need a six core six threaded part you need more cores and more threads and a decent if not high frequency 3700x is really solid for gaming and streaming on on a single pc and it only gets better from there this is insane what they're saying now the comparison for the 5600x let's read that together now shall we the ryzen 5 5600x is both the entry level and best value for money 5000 series cpu the 5600x is a hex core 12 thread processor with the base clock of 3.7 gigahertz boosting a 4.6 with a 35 megabyte of cash and a ttb rating of 65 watt a cooler is included at the msrp of 300 but cheap again here we go again but cheap aftermarket coolers such as the gammaxx 400 are far more effective and therefore with the upgrade notably amd's new zen 3 architecture has vastly proved single core performance and lower memory latency which leads to significant effective speed advantage over its predecessor to 3600x last year amd's marketers secured significant sales of the 3000 series cpus despite a 15 for performance deficit against lower priced intel parts the games specific scenes software hardware settings and choice of competing hardware were often cherry picked undisclosed and inconsistent from one product to the next now that amd have actually achieved both top tier performance and market share their marketing machinery is focused on price hacks users that do not wish to pay them a marketing premium should investigate intel's ninety dollar usd i five ninety six hundred k again with the 9600k this dude must own one or something it's just like sour grapes about the ryzen cpus uh again uh 9600k which when paired with the 2060 supers delivers higher effective fps is that what the efps is about in four out of five of today's most popular games allocating the savings to a higher gpu result in an unquestionably superior gaming pc now 9600k versus 5600x you're still losing six threads man that's six thread six cpu six thread or sorry six cpu six core six thread processor versus one with the vastly superior cache and architecture design and that being the 5600x sure it's more expensive and i understand the sort of negative viewpoint of amd now sort of pricing up a little bit versus previously but we have we don't have the full lineup of amd ryzen cpus right now we are looking at the 5600 x here as compared to a non-x variant the non-x variant will more than likely come in at a more desirable price let's say maybe 250 versus 329 or 280 probably and then you just overclock it a little bit to match 5600x and there you go there's only the six core the a core and the 12 core and the 16 core we have nothing below mid-range we have the high end of the mid-range with the 5600x and nothing below it so to really argue against amd's pricing versus intel's pricing against a fully fleshed out lineup it's a bit unfair now if all you're playing again is those high fps esports titles then i can see why somebody's gonna say get intel and a better gpu but a lot of times now uh it's a little bit more than that and let's say you want to jump into games that are more heavily heavy like cyberpunk or you want to jump into streaming and you want to jump into video editing or anything like that amd's are always going to give you a better value right now especially if you're comparing to 9th gen intel like these articles keep talking about now it is linked where these articles come from some a website called cpu pro let's have a look real quick cpu pro oh maybe it's not a website that's just name of the user oh man let's have a look at some of these on a review of an i7 11 700k by the way which isn't even out yet but uh i i guess leaked reviews and all that is probably where he's getting his information but let's see he says given intel's mammoth r d operation it's bewildering that their marketing remains so decidedly neglected little effort is made to counter widespread disinformation such as it uses too much electricity or the classic it needs more cores intel's marketing samples are often distributed to reviewers that are clearly better incentivized to bury intel's products rather than review them they use a mind-numbing list of scientific and rendering benchmarks to highlight obscure and relevant performance characteristics the game's specific seat holy sour grapes batman like this dude is so angry that amd is beating intel or at least caught up to intel the he's probably looking at some of this intel stuff and thinking oh all these reviewers are amd shills that's that's it's screaming of that it's absolutely screaming of it wow little more on this one at every release amd's marketers circle overhead coordinating narratives to ensure that a feast of blue blubber ensues nonetheless towards the end of 2021 intel's alder lake is due to offer an additional 20 to 30 performance increase at that time with the net 30 to 40 40 performance lead until will likely regain market share despite their impotent marketing so this person is just mad that amd seems to do a better marketing job than intel however he's also blaming it on the reviewers not giving intel a fair shake at it versus amd that's just not the case man the numbers are the numbers when it comes to reviewing stuff whether you're using what this person deems um obscure software to get those numbers every website let's talk hardware and box gamers nexus linus tech tips js2 cents bit with paul's hardware all those guys they're pretty objective with their reviews when it comes to cpus and gpus especially gamers nexus and hardware box they're out there just showing you the numbers and then you take from that what you will this person is clearly taking the worst of it now let's look at the 3950x thing that he wrote here blah blah blah although the cpu offers server server levels of multi-core encoding performance there are relatively few if any consumer use cases for the 3950x what streamers are better off using dedicated hardware such as nvenc which encodes far more efficiently than any cpu gamers are better served by low latency gaming cpus again such as the 9600k for a fraction of the price anybody who's considering a 16 core cpu like the 3950x does not even want to look at a 9600k it is not for them it is not what they want to use it for this is an insane recommendation to be like nah don't get a 3950x get a 9600k that'll fit you perfectly fine it'll do everything you want and more and no no it won't oh right here look at this the only rational reason to put a 3950x in a gaming build is in a bad cpu by any any measure but if you're looking to spend that money you need to spend it right you need to do your research and you need to avoid articles and buying into information such as this investigate intel's 190 i5 9600k again with the 9600k okay goodness gracious this dude loves his 9600k i'm gonna go ahead and cut it off there there's more on this guy's pages as you can see here a little bit more he gets into the 5950x and the 5800x and we already saw what he said about the 5600x but this is absolutely insane that anybody even thinks this way they're just it's just the nuts look it's okay if you want to be a fanboy for one side or the other but keep in mind these companies don't really care about you as much as you care about them they are after your money they're after what's in your wallet that's what's important to them you being a fanboy pretty much doesn't mean anything to them it's nice for marketing and the marketing people love that and they will love you a long time for that but ultimately these companies are publicly traded companies that report to their shareholders their uh their board all this sort of stuff business-wise fanboys are good for business and that's it that's why they like fanboys it's clear to me that this person loves intel and absolutely intel love them they probably love to push some of their stuff have this person write for them even if he's so critical of their advertising uh strategy it's just mind-blowing that anybody could recommend a 9600k over a 3950x over a 5600x or a 3700x for gaming streaming encoding multi-threaded or i guess it's a little bit more he's just recommending it for more gaming specific but like again people are going to use their pc for more than just that one thing and even then a 9600k is a hard sell to any of those cpus because yeah they all do great every single one of those cpus do great and the one that's going to hit its limitations first is the 9600k hands down it's not a bad cpu by any any measure but if you're looking to spend that money you need to spend it right you need to do your research and you need to avoid articles and buying into information such as this make sure you do all your research look at reviews look at websites gamer's nexus hardware and box especially hardware unboxing gamers next is because they also put articles on websites with information that you can read if a video is too long or inconvenient for you to watch but just be weary of information such as this that's out there do all your research the way that uh the way that fits you and make sure you have a well-rounded objective viewpoint not fanboy side left or right red red or blue green or red whatever just get the best that for the money that you can afford based on the reviews and all the information that you've seen and read about and you will have a good time with pc gaming and media creation streaming content creation all that sort of stuff so hopefully you
