Imp Differences between Samsung Galaxy S4 & S4 Mini

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini: A Cut-Down Version of the Original

As I recently launched the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini in India, I had a plethora of questions regarding the differences between the original Galaxy S4 and its smaller counterpart. One of the most noticeable differences is the screen size, with the S4 Mini featuring a 4.3-inch display, which is just QHD, not even 750p HD. This reduction in screen size has led to several other features being removed from the S4 Mini.

Hardware Differences

The original Galaxy S4 comes in both quad-core and octa-core versions, while the S4 Mini is limited to a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. Additionally, the S4 has 2 gigs of RAM, whereas the S4 Mini only has 1.5 gigs of RAM. Furthermore, the S4 Mini lacks a physical LED notification light, which can be a bit annoying. When it comes to other features like Air View, the S4 Mini is missing several options. I noticed that both devices do not have multi-window mode and the Smart Pause and Smart Scroll option available on the Galaxy S4.

NFC Support

Another difference between the two devices is NFC support. While some models of the S4 Mini will have this feature, it's not available in every model. Another notable absence from the S4 Mini is the S Health app, which allows users to track their steps and monitor their temperature and humidity levels. However, the S4 Mini does come with a "watch on" app that allows users to control televisions using an IR Blaster.

Camera Differences

The camera on both devices has some notable differences. The original Galaxy S4 features a 13-megapixel camera, while the S4 Mini has an 8-megapixel camera. Despite this reduction in megapixels, the S4 Mini's camera still takes good photos and can record video at 1080p. However, one notable absence from the S4 Mini is the dual-camera feature available on the original Galaxy S4.

Performance Comparison

In terms of general performance, I found that the S4 Mini handles the UI without any issues, with no visible lag to be seen. However, when it comes to heavy games like Aspal 7 and Modern Combat 4, the S4 Mini dropped quite a few frames and was a bit stuttery at times. This makes it less suitable for gamers who require smooth performance.

Recommendation

If you're a gamer or require high-performance features from your device, I would recommend the original Galaxy S4 over the S4 Mini. The S4 offers more processing power, better camera capabilities, and a wider range of features that make it a much more powerful Android device. On the other hand, if you're looking for a smaller, more affordable device with some of the same features as the original Galaxy S4, the S4 Mini is still worth considering.

Conclusion

In conclusion, while the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini offers some advantages over its larger counterpart, it's ultimately a cut-down version that sacrifices some of the key features and performance capabilities. If you're in the market for a smaller Android device, I would recommend exploring other options before making a decision.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi this is Ranjit and welcome to my YouTube channel that's youtube.com/ kiranjit and as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has recently launched India I've got a quite a bit of questions regarding the difference between the original Galaxy S4 and the S4 Mini the S4 Mini has a smaller screen that's a 4.3 in screen and it's just a q HD screen not even a 750p HD screen but apart from that there are a lot of other features that have been remove from the Galaxy S4 Mini and let me show you about them let me quickly first talk about the hardware differences and later on I'll talk about the software differences because I feel uh there are a lot of software difference between the S4 and the S4 Mini the original Galaxy S4 comes in a quad core or octacore version but the S4 Mini comes just with a dual core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz the original S4 has 2 gigs of RAM but on the other hand this S4 Mini has 1.5 gigs of RAM and one thing that I did notice is that on this S4 Mini we do not have a physical LED notification light that's actually a bit annoying and also some features like Air View is missing for example let me do this guesture double finger guesture on both the S4 and the S4 Mini and if you notice right away on the S4 Mini uh the options are a bit less we do not have the multi- window option we do not have the air view or the air gestes option that we find on the Galaxy S4 also the multi- window option and the Smart Pause and Smart Scroll option are missing from the S4 Mini Also regarding NFC only a few models of the S4 Mini will have NFC support not every model will get NFC support uh another thing that I did notice is that this S4 Mini does not have this S Health using which you can track the number of steps that you have taken and also you can get the temperature and humidity so those things are actually simply not there on this one one good thing is that both uh the S4 Mini does have the what do you say this uh watch on app hence you can control televisions and it has the IR Blaster using that so it retains that and now coming to the camera again it has 8 megap camera this has a 13 mapel camera but again uh there are a few software changes in the camera also let us fire the camera on both the good thing is that the S4 mini camera is also pretty good the 8 megap C camera can do uh video at 1080p uh but uh the functionality of dual camera shot has been removed from the S4 Mini uh it simply cannot do that apart from that it has all the new interface that we have seen in the Galaxy S4 but some of the modes have been removed for example the S4 Mini Miss uh does not have the drama shot eraser and the animated photo so these are some of the modes that have been removed from the S4 Mini in terms of General performance I would say I found the S4 Mini to be really Snappy and it handles the UI without any issues and I did not notice any visible lag but uh one area where I found the S4 Mini to be a bit lacking was in heavy games for example I tested the S4 Mini with some heavy games like aspal 7 and Modern Combat 4 and I did find that the S4 Mini dropped quite a bit of frames and the game was a bit stuttery at times so if you're a person who likes to play a lot of games I would not suggest the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini the S4 on the other hand can handle all those heavy games without any issues and definitely the S4 is a much powerful Android phone I would soon be posting a full in-depth review for the S4 Mini and a gaming review so if you aren't subscribed to my YouTube channel subscribe to the
