Canadian Money Update: The Penny is No More

Hey everyone, it's only been like a year sorry we've been super swamped with exams in school but it's summer for us now so that means video time and video time outside. It's a little windy today, sorry we're here to talk to you about Canadian money again. Canada what is up big stuff is happening in Canada right now so like I don't know why not talk about it kada is getting rid of the penny you think you like the penny say goodbye it's going away so they said they just announced that the penny was going to be extinct but it's actually not going to be extinct till next fall this fall. I mean yeah this upcoming fall 2012 so we die all you Penny collectors out there get on it get on it honestly I'll be the one person that like it's been extinct for like 3 years I'll be like here I can pay that with pennies yeah I'm totally team Penny can't believe they're getting rid of it I'm actually pro team anti peny whoa that was a lot um I don't know I think they're kind of pointless and seriously at the end of the month my wallet is just full of pennies cuz what do you do with them you give them when you're paying like it's honestly the highlight of my day when they're like hey 763 and I'm like I can give you three cents see I cannot be bothered to do that if it's 763 I'll just give you like 780 you can give me some more pennies back but now the job is so much harder for us that working retail and we're going to have to round up or round down when paying for something.

Time for the stats on why this is happening so to actually make a penny did you know it cost 1.55 cents to make a penny when they're worth a cent they're losing money every time they make a penny so that's $1 million over the course of a year that Canada government is just throwing away cuz we want pennies tell me why they're good thing get Kelsey cuz it makes me feel good and then they give you good luck oh my God there's going to be no more pick a penny good luck it's like pick a penny and you found a useless piece of metal so I totally thought we were the first people to do this just I thought we were the first people to get plastic money we're not Australia actually uh got their ping first so they're a little bit cooler than USR does everything before us yeah you're good in our books and we brought a guest today for you guys Harley tells us what he thinks about the penny I think he loves it he hates pennies are stupid Mr goose Mr Goose what do you think of getting rid of the P Mr Goose so tell them about more things Becky um okay so some other changes to Canadian currency are you haven't noticed um there is a new tuning in town haven't noticed it came out like yesterday April 10th to be exact well I actually got one as changed for buying something other day so maybe other people are getting them and being like what's up with this new tuning yeah it has weird little lines on the top pop so we googled this as to uh what's this new called and what is it called okay basically the Canadian Mint spent lots of money and patented Pat patented something called take this in patented multiply PL steel technology I think that just means that they're putting more money on our that's just a load of words to make you not realize they're spending money on something multiply is this freaking toilet paper tly when's the last time you've ever seen a fake TTI like I don't think many people are going out and making fake tiies it's just like fourth place or maybe they're so good at it that's why they have to come up with multiply plaed yeah they're changing the Looney too um but it's not that much different they both just have this new like they actually call it m p ps it's basically scratches on the 2 Harley's cing on a sleeve let us know your thoughts on this change and we're back I'm sorry that we left you we'll be back more and we'll talk less about money and less about K and politics fun like DIY we want to do a bunch of like fun summer DIYs so if you have any ideas or any projects that you're like hey I want to do this this summer but I don't know how I want to do ombre shorts let us know your thoughts and suggestions and whatever you want to tell us that'd be cool too Kylie says bye bye
