The First True 480Hz OLED Gaming Monitor _ Asus ROG at CES 2024

Asus's New Zephrus G14 Laptop: A Redesigned Marvel

We're here at Asus's booth at CES 2024, and it's clear that the company is making some significant announcements. As I mentioned earlier, one of my favorite laptops from last year is getting a major redesign, and I'm excited to share all the details with you. The new Zephrus G14 boasts a fully aluminum body, which not only looks sleek but also adds to its durability. But what really catches my attention is the redesigned lid on the front, featuring a light bar that adds a touch of elegance to this already impressive laptop.

One of the standout features of the Zephrus G14 is its critically acclaimed OLED panel. This 120Hz, 2560x1600 display is not only stunning but also provides an immersive gaming experience. What's even more interesting is that this same panel is being used in both the 14-inch and 16-inch models, making it a great option for those who want to future-proof their laptop. And, as if that weren't enough, the Zephrus G14 is coming with an OLED screen, which is a clear nod to Asus's partnership with Razer. While Razer's Blade 14 doesn't have an OLED screen on its 14-inch model, this new laptop from Asus does, and it's sure to impress.

Another feature that sets the Zephrus G14 apart from its competitors is its larger trackpad. Stretching out a little further across the bottom of the body, it extends all the way up to the keyboard, providing plenty of space for users to move around under the hood. And, as if that weren't enough, Asus has also upgraded the laptop's hardware. The new 8040 CPUs will be available up to a Ryzen 9, while the GPU spec has been simplified to an RTX 470 – a much more reasonable choice for a 14-inch laptop. It's clear that Asus is focused on creating a well-rounded laptop that checks all the right boxes.

But the Zephrus G14 isn't the only new announcement from Asus at CES 2024. The company has also revealed three exciting new monitors, each with its own unique features and specs. Let's take a closer look at these monitors and see what they have to offer.

The First of Three Monitors: A 39-Inch Ultrawide

One of the most impressive monitors from Asus is this 39-inch ultrawide display. With a resolution of 3440x440, it offers an incredible viewing experience for gamers and content creators alike. But what really sets it apart is its refresh rate – 240Hz to be exact. This means that users will get incredibly smooth visuals, with minimal lag or delay between frames. And, as if that weren't enough, Asus is claiming a whopping 1300 nits of peak brightness. While we can't test this at CES without the monitors, it's clear that this display is going to be a real showstopper.

The Second Monitor: A 27-Inch Quad-Panel Display

Next up is this 27-inch quad-panel display. With four separate screens arranged in a 2x2 configuration, users will have plenty of space to multitask and stay productive. The resolution is a respectable Full HD, while the refresh rate is a smooth 144Hz – perfect for gamers who need quick reflexes. But what really catches my eye is the monitor's sleek design, which features a slim profile and a stunning bezel-less display.

The Third Monitor: A 32-Inch QHD+ Display

Last but certainly not least is this 32-inch QHD+ display. With its resolution of 3840x2160, users will get an incredible viewing experience for gaming, video editing, and more. The refresh rate is a smooth 144Hz, while the monitor features a sleek and modern design that's sure to appeal to anyone who wants a stylish desk companion.

While all three monitors look impressive, it's clear that Asus has its work cut out for it in terms of pricing. Without any official pricing details at CES, we can only speculate that these monitors will be expensive – perhaps reaching up to $1,500 or more. But with the features and specs on offer, it's hard not to get excited about these new displays.

The New BTF Standard: A Cable-Less Future

But just when you think Asus is done making headlines at CES 2024, something else comes along – a new standard called BTF (Back-to-Front Technology). This innovative technology aims to simplify cable management in PC builds by routing all the cables and power directly through the motherboard. No more cluttered front panels or tangled wires – just a sleek, cable-less design that's sure to impress.

And it's not just Asus that's getting on board with BTF – several other case manufacturers are also supporting this new standard, including some of the bigger brands like B&L and others. This means that users will have plenty of options when it comes to building their dream PC, and they can rest assured that their cable management woes are a thing of the past.

In conclusion, Asus's CES 2024 announcements are sure to get your heart racing – from the new Zephrus G14 laptop with its stunning OLED display, to the three exciting monitors that promise an incredible viewing experience. And, as if all that weren't enough, the company is also working on a cable-less future with BTF technology. It's clear that Asus is pushing the boundaries of innovation and design, and we can't wait to see what they have in store for us next.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enHey everyone it's Jake we're here at Asus's booth at CES 2024 and there are a ton of ROGannouncements like way more than I expected so let's get right into them all right so first  off we have the redesigned Zephrus G14 now the G14 is one of my favorite laptops uh I love the  the portable form factor but Asus is making it even better so now we have a fully aluminum body  we have this redesigned lid on the front with this light bar and we have critically an OLED  panel now this is a 120 Hz uh 2560x1600 OLED panel and it's the same panel you'll find on  both the 14-in and the 16-in model so of course this is an aluminum laptop so naturally there's  a connection to the Razer Blade though this one is a little bit thinner and even a little bit  lighter than the Razer Blade 14 and it's coming with an OLED screen Razer doesn't have an OLED  screen on it 14-inch model also in the same blade vein is this larger trackpad now stretches out a  little bit further across the bottom of the body and it extends all the way up to the keyboard so  you have plenty of space to move around under the hood we have AMD's new 8040 CPUs up to a  Ryzen 9 and actually a lower GPU spec see last year uh Asus offered this with up to an RTX 490  it doesn't really make sense in a 14-in laptop so it's simplifying the lineup and now you'll get up  to an RTX 470 which makes a lot more sense in this machine I'm focused on the 14-in here but there's  a 16-in model as well the Zephrus G16 um we don't have any pricing or availability details right now  that'll be a pretty big factor considering the competition especially for a 14-in laptop so all  we can do right now is wait all right moving on from laptops we have three new monitors  and they're actually really exciting so a quick rundown of them there is a 39in 21:9 ultrawide  monitor there is is a 32 in 16:9 monitor and a 27 in 16:9 monitor all of them using an LG OLED panel  so that's W there are a lot of specs here a lot of product names that I'm not going to remember  so I'll just start from the top all three of the monitors Asus is claiming they can hit,  1300 nits of peak brightness that is by far the highest brightness claim we've seen out  of any OLED Monitor and it's really exciting for these 2024 models as far as other specs go I'm  really excited about the 27in model see this is a 27 in 1440p display that Asus claims hits 480  HZ now I've been at CES I've seen a lot of other game modders haven't seen a single one that hits  that high of a refresh rate Asus might have the only one which is really exciting otherwise we  have the 39 in 21:9 monitor 240 HZ refresh rate 3440 x440 resolution it's kind of the same Ultra  wide monitor we've seen just a little bit bigger at 39 in finally we have the 32in model 16x by 9  4K and it's using the interesting dual refresh rate feature that we've seen from LG this year  so 4K 240 HZ at its native mode but there is a another refresh rate mode that you can switch to  with a single button that switches it to 1080p at 480 HZ so to recap 32 in 4k at 240 HZ 27in  1440p at 480 HZ and a 39in ultrawide also at 240 HZ so as I mentioned these are all using LG wed  pan it'll be really interesting to see how they compare to Samsung's QD-OLED panels especially  considering Asus is claiming 1300 nits of peak brightness can't really test that right now at  CES but hopefully we'll have the monitors before long so we can uh give them a shot and critically  no pricing details on these monitors yet they're probably going to be expensive uh above $1,000 I'd  say maybe some of them reaching up to 1,500 we'll just have to wait and see but outside of monitors  we have something really interesting from which is this new BTF standard now I just want to touch  on this for a minute but it's basically a way to clean up your cables inside of a PC build on  the motherboard they're taking all the cables and moving them around the back and even routing GPU  power directly through the motherboard basically it means in the front of your case you will see  no cables now the big deal here is that Asus is working with a bunch of different case Brands  including B and Lee as of some of the bigger ones I don't have a full list right now but they're  working with these case manufacturers to make sure that they support this new motherboard design so  hopefully you'll be able to build the PC you want and actually have this true cableless solution  that's about all we have right now for Rog here at CES 2024 let me know which of these monitors  in particular you're looking forward to or if you're more excited about the new gaming laptops  leave me a comment down below all right thanks for watching everyone I'll see you next time\n"
