**A Mixed Bag: The Good and the Bad of the POO W8 Tablet**
The POO W8 tablet is an intriguing device that has left this reviewer with mixed feelings. While it's hard to find much to praise about this tablet, I'll start by highlighting its positives. One of the standout features of the POO W8 is its screen. The display is sharp and bright, with a peak brightness of around 330 nits when the power-saving settings are removed. This makes it suitable for use in well-lit environments, although it's worth noting that the tablet can still struggle with certain tasks, more on which later.
The touch response on the POO W8 is also commendable, providing an accurate and responsive experience. However, this reviewer did notice a slight lag when performing certain actions, such as watching YouTube videos within Chrome. This is a concerning trend, as it suggests that the system's performance may be compromised by more demanding tasks.
**Performance: A Lagging Behind**
In terms of overall performance, the POO W8 leaves much to be desired. The 3D Mark score, which is a benchmark for 3D graphics processing, is disappointingly low, with only 608 points – significantly lower than other tablets with similar chipsets. This suggests that the device's processor may not be up to par with its peers.
The Geekbench 3 scores further reinforce this point, with the single-core score being slightly lower than that of comparable devices. While it's worth noting that these tests are just one measure of performance, they do suggest that the POO W8 may struggle with demanding tasks.
**SSD Performance: A Mixed Bag**
On the plus side, the tablet comes equipped with a 64 GB SSD from a Chinese brand. The read and write speeds on this drive are respectable, reaching up to 480 MB/s for reads and around 170 MB/s for writes. However, when connected to external storage devices via USB 3.0, issues arose. A Thunderbolt-enabled external hard drive failed to function properly, while standard flash drives worked as expected.
It's unclear what causes this issue, but it seems to be related to the power requirements of the external device. This is a frustrating problem, especially when dealing with more complex file transfers.
**Build Quality: Average at Best**
Unfortunately, the POO W8's build quality falls short of expectations. The plastic finish feels cheap and flimsy, similar to some lower-end tablets in the market. While it's understandable that this may be a cost-cutting measure, it's disappointing considering the device's price point.
**Language Support: A Single Language Option**
One final note on the POO W8 is its language support. When first activated, the tablet was set to Chinese, although it was possible to reset it to English. However, this reviewer can't confirm whether the single-language option will be restored automatically or if it's a fixed setting.
**Conclusion: Not Recommended**
Overall, while there are some minor positives about the POO W8, these are far outweighed by its numerous shortcomings. In particular, the device's performance issues and mediocre build quality make it difficult to recommend. If you're in the market for a new tablet, this reviewer would suggest looking elsewhere – perhaps a more established brand like the Cube i7.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwith the Poo W5 here in front of me now I've just finished my review just doing the final touches adding some photos of the tablet this video here I'm just going to give you a really quick rundown of basically what I've found out from my review process benchmarking the system and using it for almost 2 weeks now so uh first off I'll start with the positive things because there's honestly not really that much to say is positive about this tablet so first off the screen is is really nice I mean it's it's very sharp and the brightness once I removed the power saving settings from the Intel control panel under power savings there remove the power saving settings it actually is quite bright it gets up to about 330 uh nits there and brightness so it's it's not bad and it is a very sharp screen that does look quite nice and the touch response is good it is quite accurate just give you a bit of a zoom up there on the screen so you can see how it is General performance in and out and around windows is fine but uh that's where you start to run into a little bit of a problem because I've noticed that when you do some things just simple things like even looking at YouTube videos uh with within Chrome or something like that that I noticed that the system suddenly started to get a bit of lag that it got a little bit choppy and started to run quite slow that's where it comes into a bit of problems with the system it's um not performing as good as it should for aquarium so this is the 3D Mark score here and this is actually a lot less than other tablets with corm that I've tested this is almost half that score for example the qy7 got of around p900 points here this is only 608 and now just with other poos as well they always seem to have slower 3D performance I'm not too sure why something to do with drivers perhaps and this is the gmar geekbench 3 score here sorry single core it's a little bit lower than the other tablets again that I've tested the core M with the same chipset the 5y10 4 GB of RAM and it underperforms a little bit compared to those ones okay so there is one other positive as well and that is that the SSD that they have used in it it's a 4C Chinese brand SSD to show you this beads here uh that is actually sorry that's a USB 3 Port speeds there not too bad but it gets up to 480 read and around about 170 almost right speeds on that built-in SSD this is a 64 GB model those speeds are quite good and so the random 4K reads and wres there nothing really wrong with that but the USB 3 Port just like other models I've tested has a few issues if I come along here with a tsha Basics 1 tbte 2.5 in external hard drive connect that up to the usb3 port I'll show you what happens here the light will come on I've just lost the camera and I cannot actually access the hard drive at all it's not going to show there under my devices here so there is a problem with the USB 3 and USB 2 does kind of work but I've noticed that it's corrupting data sometimes when they move it from the hard drive to the desktop what will work is a standard flash drives if you have memory flash drives like this sand disc one I have here this will work if I plug this in it's going to work okay but it's something to do with the power requirements that this hard drive needs it's just not working properly so there's a few issues there and the build quality of the tablet is very average it feels kind of a bit more like a poo W3 in terms of build quality now we have all the ports along the side here and the plastic finish on it I'm not really too happy with not for for almost $450 Corum tablet it should actually be a lot better than that so people really they failed I think lots of things with this tablet I go into a lot more detail than this video on the actual review that's on techtablets.com so do have a lookout for that there will be a link in the description of this video there's another thing too is the windows Edition is a single language version now I don't know if when I fact reset this tablet I'll find out soon if it's actually going to revert to being all in Chinese now when I first booted this tablet up it was in English and I got this tablet here from Geek buying.com and it was in English to start with so I don't know if it's just a single language pack English or it's actually going to revert back to Chinese anyway overall this is just a quick video that can't really recommend the Poo W8 you best to look at another tablet like the cube i7 all right thank you for watching and hope
