The Effects of Online Gaming on Relationships: A Unique Perspective
One of the most significant effects of online gaming is its impact on relationships, particularly those between partners who are deeply invested in each other's lives. In our own relationship, we have found that playing video games together has had a profoundly positive effect on our bond. We started talking over the internet, and it was only natural that we would create a unique dynamic as a result of this medium. We're a lot different from many relationships, which start in person and transition to online communication. Our relationship is built on a foundation of video gameplay, lovey doy stuff, and trolling each other – all done through the lens of video footage.
However, not everyone has had the same experience as us. Some people have reported that online gaming can have a negative impact on their relationships, particularly if they become too reliant on it or don't spend enough time in the real world with each other. This is especially true for couples who start out strong but ultimately struggle to connect on a deeper level. In fact, some YouTube personalities have spoken about how their own online gaming experiences have led to relationship breakdowns. One particularly memorable example was of a couple who kept their relationship a secret from their fans, only to have it come crashing down when they decided to reveal the truth.
For us, our unique situation has allowed us to navigate the complexities of online gaming and relationships in a way that others may not be able to. We've been able to create an archive of ourselves playing video games together, which serves as a reminder of the fun times we've had and the memories we've made. This has also helped us to maintain a sense of humor about our relationship, even when things get tough. As one of our viewers pointed out, when it comes down to it, relationships are all about communication and compromise – and for us, that means finding ways to work together both in-game and offline.
Of course, not everyone has been so fortunate. Some people have reported feeling like they're stuck in a rut or that their online gaming experience is preventing them from forming meaningful connections with others. This can be especially true for those who are already introverted or struggling to connect with others in general. For these individuals, the pressure to constantly perform and compete can take its toll on their relationships.
The internet has also had a profound impact on how we communicate with each other, particularly when it comes to older generations. Some people may view social media as a threat to traditional communication methods, while others see it as an opportunity to connect with people from all over the world. Either way, it's clear that the internet is not a one-size-fits-all solution for relationships.
Ultimately, whether or not online gaming has a positive or negative effect on relationships depends on who you are and how you use it. For us, it's been a source of joy and connection – but we know that this won't be true for everyone. As the internet continues to evolve and shape our lives in ways both big and small, it's essential to recognize its potential impact on our relationships and take steps to maintain healthy communication habits.
As one of our viewers pointed out, when it comes down to it, relationships are all about balance. In a world where online gaming has become increasingly prevalent, it's easy to get caught up in the excitement of competition or the thrill of exploring new virtual worlds. But for many of us, finding that balance between online and offline life is key to maintaining strong, healthy relationships.
In our own relationship, we've learned to take time off from our gaming sessions to spend quality time together in person. We also make sure to prioritize communication and compromise, even when it comes down to things like who gets to play as the Medic or the pyro. By working together and finding ways to support each other's interests, we've been able to create a strong foundation for our relationship that will only continue to grow stronger in the years to come.
As we move forward into this next episode of TF2, we're excited to see what new challenges and adventures await us. Whether it's exploring new maps or conquering our opponents' bases, we know that together, we can overcome anything – as long as we have each other.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys hi we're playing the TF2 aren't we uh are we yeah I think that's what we're doing 99% sure that's what we're doing we're playing Man versus machine with the blizzard bow and some random scrub nuts oh we're already getting but kicked oh I'm already on fire medic medic medic I'm on fire too I'm sorry all right I'm good I still have the bomb though that's not good there we go oh not okay so this is Man versus machine I don't think I don't know that I ever fully posted much of it here we posted a little but not a lot alert um why is that next to ton I hate myself and this was the most pathetic start to Fan versus machine I think we've ever done but we have terrible class balance going on here yeah I've never played Medic in MVM so I don't really know what I'm expected to do why aren't you rocket jumping I mean I guess you're sticking next to me but you okay I don't know I'm I got you oh Lordy what is this hologram thing of the spy uh that's when they go down that's me pyro got me all right so we kind of have a topic we're going to talk about today but it's going to be really hard to do so playing Man versus machine so this is going to be interesting yeah I am oh no oh hello oh where did he come from nope nope get back yeah you stay back ow and I'm getting this health I'm sorry I'm getting this death all right so oh how did I come back okay I revived you I didn't know you could revive yeah okay yeah um anyway all right the subject of the video today wait which one did we pick the first one or the second one that we talking okay oh what where did they come from it's about social networks and social media and their effects on relationships and I am not going to take the expected uh approach or opinion on this yeah in fact kind of under the impression the social networks aren't evil I'm coming no I didn't want you to revive me I wanted you to never mind you want me to revive you yes you walked right past the guy that was dropping the bomb off so I was like what are you doing I am healing I don't give a but yeah she's not going to say that it's evil yeah she's going to be different and weird cuz that's what Che does that really is I mean I usually takes the unpopular opinion for the sake of taking the unpopular opinion I don't really give a but um I'm just not doing anything useful at all that's okay so anyway uh when was it last night couple nights ago sometime recently I was just looking at old videos because Adam wanted me to look something up and I basically and Mushi Goshi whatever basically fell in love with them all over again because it's just I have so much fun with him I enjoy his company and I value him as a person and it's just it's great it's really great um he doesn't tell me any of this though I do a little bit a little bit uh but yeah it's just it's really nice to have all of those videos there and that's cool and to be able to look back on some really happy moments in our relationship and obviously not the happiest but just really really happy moments uh that make me really value Adam and what we have together I don't know why that went away so being able to look on that being able to uh being able to look on just anything any like any significant conversation that we have even if it's not like lovey govy mushy stuff but just whatever memorable moments we have it's it it it's really valuable to me so I like having those there what's your opinion on it Adam no I'm a little bit throwing off cuz I thought this conversation was originally going to go in a different direction oh yes not that you were going to take a different opinion cuz we did discuss that but I don't know uh well I mean you can go in a different direction if you want I mean I equally like having the stuff available on the fact that our we have two freaking proposals up on the interwebs that one of my University professors like pulling up to give an example of my YouTube channel yes why did they pull that up cuz he knows it's up there cuz like he was um what was he doing oh he was mentioning that I could do tutorials or whatever and for whatever reason no what I don't remember what he was he like it was a legim example just kind of did jokingly pull my channel up but then he was like but if you type in proposal and search for that and I'm like oh God we go turn it off turn it off turn it off turn it off um yeah but I like having it up there and I like you know not only that we get to share it with our audience and you know you guys the viewers and those of you who actually want to be a part of it but what is that sure sure I don't know what that is but I also feel like in for many other relationships social media can have a hugely negative impact especially in terms of things like making it public we did not suffer from any sorts of effects from this and frankly we started talking over the Internet so we're a lot different than many relationships in that regard oh we only have limited lives don't we do we I thought that was a thing maybe not either way I need to quit dying um oh no you just get lengthy R respawn times okay um but I have seen it you know even just the publicity part take its toll on people's relationships and so I ow go ahead it can hugely have a negative impact on some people's relationships obviously not ours and so I can't directly speak to those effects at least you know for us or for personal experience but I have seen it and it I guess comes down to who you are and how you use it because again if you use it in certain ways like us then it works out if you if you're someone else that can like I'm trying to think of an example I I tried to save you you're fine there are I've seen YouTube relationships which why does he have the like of bigger like vlogger YouTubers and stuff who were apparently in a relationship for a really long time and you know were keeping it secret and then they feel comfortable ow bringing it up and the entire relationship sh is over basically mhm um and I think that's just crazy oh okay that sucked I'm not a good Medic in this a good pyro why aren't you like Soldier or something cuz we had two soldiers we still have two soldiers no we have one now we had two to start but I have seen it have negative effects if people like overuse it or just frankly don't spend enough time in the real world with each other and so it really depends on how to handle it but also ours again is really really unique in that we do it over YouTube like ours what you got to look back on was an archive of us just having fun in video games it was fun it was video gameplay it wasn't us just talking on Facebook or you know a lot of people just have like Facebook and stuff and frankly that's a lesser means of communication that is actually really threatening to a lot of people's relationships because they don't like they don't operate the same way online as they do in person our stuff is just video footage of us mostly in person you trolling me and you know lovey doy stuff and playing video games it's big different thing but I don't know it's it's just a really weird topic because you have those older people who are like kids these days don't know how to talk in person all they have is their internets but then you also have people who would have never gotten out of their comfort zone in terms of talking to people that did so because they have social media to do so on mhm and it's just really weird how how it has totally different effects based on who you are and what you do I don't know it's hard to talk about killing all the people but it's just really strange it the internet is something that people at one point thought would have specific almost specific Universal effects uhhuh and it doesn't it has drastic crazy effects that affect people in different ways and nobody can predict how it will affect any one person I have no ammo and I can't Mele anybody oh I'm running okay give me my oh how close are they why did I not I hate the power up canteen spot there we go this conversation turned into a mess this is a bad choice for you know what you get when you watch our videos guys thank you for watching oh what what no comment like subscribe for the best deep talks ever point I got you bles ow oh look now we have another pyro God dang it we've had another pyro since the beginning oh well this is a different guy entirely should I go back to spawn I don't know all is oh this is terrible how many people do we have left are they near the bomb the bomb is on top of the site Liz behind you behind you behind you oh okay I wish I could blow it away with my Air Canister that would be useful but probably although pyro can do is it on this map oh it's something I don't wa waa wa no no no yes good job die you I can't blow away when I do that yeah but I mean like that star dude's video I was watching he was talking about how you don't really need balance in Man versus machine cuz it's PVE like you don't the kind of kind of the point of playing those games is to be God mode I mean at some point and so you don't need to balance it anywhere near as much as you would um multiplayer we actually won that one that was close and we only get a be of course we only got to be stay tuned for more in the next episode of TF2\n"
