Honor 200 Pro Review - Should Others be Worried

**Hands On Review: Honor 200 Pro**

As I got my hands on the Honor 200 Pro, I was excited to dive into its features and see how it compares to other flagship phones in the market. The first thing that caught my attention was its design, which I thought was sleek and premium. However, I did notice some compromises in the design, specifically with regards to IP65 water resistance, which is not as robust as IP68 or something.

Despite this compromise, I was impressed by the display on the Honor 200 Pro. According to DxO Mark, it has one of the best displays on a smartphone, even outperforming some flagship phones from last year. My usage with the phone confirmed that it's really good, with sharp 1.5T resolution, 10-bit color depth, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The display is also very bright for nice outdoor visibility, and I enjoyed binge-watching movies and series on my use of this phone.

The Honor 200 Pro also features a high-refresh-rate display, which provides a smooth user experience. The display's brightness can get really dim at just 1% light, but it's still sufficient for watching videos in a dark room. Additionally, the phone gets DxO Gold Label certification, which means it has high PWM dimming for less flicker, a blue light filter, and other certifications like TUV Rheinland.

**Performance**

Under the hood, the Honor 200 Pro is powered by the new Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chipset, coupled with 12GB of DDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The performance is top-notch as expected, with fast app launching, smooth gaming, and quick navigation. The fingerprint sensor is also fast to unlock, and the vibration feedback is good.

However, I did notice that the phone gets slightly hotter, especially when playing games or using mobile data. I recorded up to 45°C while playing games like PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends, which is a bit warm but not alarming. However, this might be a concern for some users, particularly those who prefer to play games on their phones.

**Battery Life**

One area where the Honor 200 Pro truly shines is in its battery life. The phone comes with a slightly larger 5,200mAh battery that's a silicon carbon battery with better energy density and efficiency. I was able to get an easy 7 hours of screen-on time on heavy usage, and more than 9 hours on moderate usage. This is superb for a phone at this price range.

The phone also comes with fast charging capabilities, thanks to its 100W charger, which can fuel the phone from 0% to 100% in just 40 minutes. Additionally, the Honor 200 Pro supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, making it convenient to charge and share power with other devices.

**Software**

The Honor 200 Pro runs on Magic OS, which is a custom Android skin that offers a unique user experience. While I didn't find it to be particularly interesting, I did appreciate its stability and lack of bugs or ads. The phone also comes with some AI features, but they weren't particularly compelling for me.

Overall, the Honor 200 Pro seems like a great value proposition, offering a lot of features at a price that's slightly higher than what you'd expect from a device in this category. With its top-notch camera, premium design, and long-lasting battery life, it's definitely worth considering for those looking for a flagship-like experience without the hefty price tag.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, the Honor 200 Pro is a great phone that offers a lot of value for money. Its display is one of the best on a smartphone, its performance is top-notch, and its battery life is superb. While it may not have all the bells and whistles, it's a great option for those looking for a flagship-like experience without the hefty price tag. With the right pricing and discounts, I think this phone could be an attractive option for many users.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello and Namaste everybody pratima here so honor recently came up with two new premium mid-range phones in India the honor 200 and the honor 20000 Pro the honor 200's price starts at 35,000 rupees for the 8256 GB variant whereas the 200 Pro cost a whooping 58,000 rupees for the 12500 12gb variant and if you look at the overall specs of these two phones I think they are a little overpriced in India but if you check out the past records for most honor phones launched in India this year as well as last year they usually receive good price Cuts eventually on these two models too there were some good launch discounts during Amazon Prime Day Sale a few days ago so we can expect some price Cuts in the coming days as well anyway in this video I am going to discuss about the honor 200 Pro because this for me is a more interesting device I have been using it for the past 10 days and the first thing I am really impressed with it is its cameras seems like honor is still taking a lot of help from huawei's R&D and don't get me wrong I am very very happy about it spec-wise we get a 50 megapix primary lens which honor calls h9000 it's actually a customized version of the omnivision sensor that we saw on the flagship honor magic 6 Pro as well as the xiaomi 14 then we have a 50 megapix Sony IMX 856 sensor which is basically a a 2.5 export lens and a 12 map Ultra wideangle lens with autofocus and after testing its cameras I genuinely feel that this is one of the best camera phones for its price in fact I felt like I was actually using a flagship phon camera these are that good as you can see from the samples the colors are a bit more saturated and on the contrasty side but overall the photos look superb and iping and even if you zoom in you will get a lot of details and sharpness in the photos and also the wide balance is on point the honor 200 Pros cameras can capture nice close-up shots too it has great autofocus nice background blur and sof Focus but the highlight of this camera is definitely the portraits you can click nice 1X and 2x portraits from its main lens and the 2.5x ones from its telephoto camera as well and they all look really good the way it handles skin tones and details even during some challenging conditions like this one looks really impressive honor is also offering three hardcode portrait filter options which kind of mimic the hardcode studio based in Paris and I particularly found the classic black and white portraits to be really really good just look at these samples and also this one in particular of our office cat it looks quite dramatic and has an artsy look selfies also have the same DNA as the portraits with nice colors background exposure and details but I really don't understand the need of putting a depth sensor for the selfie camera right here maybe honer could have included an ultra wideangle lens instead anyway you can also click macro photos from both the telephoto as well as the wide-angle lens since both these lenses have autofocus they are just okay though nothing extraordinary um I also noticed its camera's processing to be superior while I was clicking photos during low light uh it takes a second to process the image but the output is detailed and brightened even the ultra wide angle camera is not bad either it is slightly less bright and the dynamic range is a bit compromised but looking at the positive side you get similar color consistency as the primary camera and is much better than something like you get on the IU 12 or even the OnePlus 12r for that matter I am also pleased to report to you guys that you can record good quality videos from this phone it maxes out at 4K 60 FPS from the main camera and the output is smooth with great stabilization and details the dynamic range and colors are also quite respectable even the ultra wi angle videos are not bad it maxes out at 4K 30 FPS and if you have good lighting conditions you will get really nice results but during low light the aultra angle videos are not good okay so apart from the Fantastic cameras the auto 200 pro has pretty much the Standard specs you expect from a 50,000 fot you get a Sleek glass bag design with plastic frames hence it is relatively lightweight at just 199 G and overall it has a very nice weight distribution too you get curves on both the front and the back side so the grip isn't the best but overall this is a goodlooking phone we have to accept that except for the camera module maybe it's quite weirdly shaped and looks like an egg if you ask me however to meet this price point honor has had to make some compromises in the design though the first compromise is only has ip65 water resistance which is not as robust as ip68 or something and second honor has not disclosed what kind of glass protection it has included on the back as well as on the front but in the display Department I don't have a lot of complaints in fact according to dxo Mark the honor 200 pro has the eighth best display on a smartphone even outperforming some of the flagship phones from last year in my usage too I found this display to be really really good it's not an ltpo screen but everything else here is a plus it has a sharp 1.5t resolution with 10bit color depth 100% DC3 coverage and it's very bright for nice outdoor visibility too this display can also get really dim at just one knit and like with most honor high-end phones you get dxo Gold Label certification which means it has high pwm dimming for Less Slickers Hardware level blue light filter TUV rainland and all the other different kinds of certifications you also get something called wet touch enhancement which means if your hands are wet this display is still responsive plus HDR here works on both Netflix as well as Amazon Prim so couple that with the loudspeakers here I enjoyed binge watching movies and series on my use on this phone the mid frequency and the vocals while listening to music could have been better but that is not a big issue in my opinion for performance the honor 200 Pro gets the new Snapdragon 8s gen 3 chipset coupled with 12gb of ddr5x RAM and 512 GB of what looks like ufs 3.1 storage by the speed anyway you might know that the 8S gen 3 shares the same architecture as the high-end Snapdragon 8 gen 3 so the performance here is top notot as expected the fingerprint sensor is fast to unlock the vibration feedback is good the refresh rate is well optimized apps open quickly and everything just feels very smooth to use hence we can conclude that this is a fast phone to use however I noticed that the honor 200 Pro gets slightly hotter especially when I'm on mobile data or while playing games of sorts I recorded up to 45° while playing games in games like pubg mobile and mobile Legends you will get good FPS and stability but with slightly more GPU demanding games like genion impact for example after like 10 to 15 minutes of game play the phone does start getting warm and then the FPS takes a hit so hopefully this gets fixed with an update and talking about updates honor has not openly discussed on how many years of Android updates the 200 Pro will get um I did ask honors representative about this and they said that it will receive four years of OS update but some kind of official statement would have been better for an almost flagship phone like this one as for the UI and user experience you might feel Honor's magic OS to be a bit different from other Android phones and it will definitely take some time to get used to but what's nice is the software is stable uh there are no bugs no ads Etc and honor has also added a few AI features but I did not find it to be that interesting another aspect where honor phones do so well is in the battery Department minutes plus this is one of the few phones at this price range to feature a wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging so overall there is a lot to like about the honor 200 Pro it has one of the best cameras for the price a really nice design A+ display it has fast performance and a longlasting battery life yes the price is a bit on the higher side especially in a competitive market like India but like I said in the beginning you should receive some price cut and coupon for this phone and it should be available for under 50,000 Rupees and at that price I think no one comes close to what the honor 200 Pro offers I think it's a much better device than something like the xiaomi 14 CV or even the Motorola ed50 Ultra so everybody that was all for my full review of the honor 200 Pro I am currently testing the honor 200 as well and I will be uh back with its review very soon so stay tuned for that saying this I'm pratima adikari and thank you so much for watchinghello and
