IKEA Food Taste Test #3 -- a Swedish Food Haul -- Whatcha Eating

The Delightful World of Ikea Cuisine: A Taste Test Adventure

As I sat down to enjoy some delicious Ikea cuisine, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and adventure. My first stop was the cheese platter, which came with an assortment of cheeses, including a Swiss-style nutty flavor that reminded me of a certain Oller cheese. The cheese was perfectly paired with a crusty bread that added a lovely texture to the dish.

Next up was the Silinad, a type of cured fish in marinade with onions and carrots. I was pleasantly surprised by the sweetness and tanginess of the marinade, which tasted remarkably like pickled gerkens. The fish itself was incredibly concentrated, but the addition of bread helped to balance out its richness.

But the real showstopper was the Swedish pear cider, which arrived in a beautifully designed can with a lovely champagne color and a fragrant pear aroma. The flavor was sweet but not overly so, with just enough fizz to make it feel festive. As I sipped on this delightful beverage, I couldn't help but think of my childhood memories of drinking Martinelli's fizzy apple cider from champagne bottles.

For my main course, I decided to try the roasty, which arrived at the table looking like a perfectly cooked potato fritter. However, as I took a bite, I realized that it was actually more like a lkas-style potato pancake, with a lovely texture and rich flavor. While it wasn't greasy or heavy, I couldn't help but think that a little bit of oil would have added an extra layer of crispiness to the dish.

Finally, I indulged in the peppara Kaka, a type of ginger thin cookie that was both delicate and flavorful. With its lovely fluted edge and gingery-cinnamony aroma, this cookie was a true delight. While I've never been a fan of traditional ginger snaps, these cookies had managed to win me over with their light and airy texture.

As I finished my meal and sat back to reflect on the delicious Ikea cuisine I'd just enjoyed, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience. From the beautifully designed packaging to the tasty and varied dishes themselves, every element of this culinary adventure had been a delight. And as I looked around at the charming Swedish-inspired decor, I knew that I would be back again soon to explore more of Ikea's tasty offerings.

The Cider: A Delightful Beverage

As I lifted the can of Swedish pear cider to my lips, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The aroma wafting from the can was like nothing I'd ever smelled before - it was sweet, fragrant, and utterly captivating. And as I took a sip, I was struck by the sheer delightfulness of this drink.

The flavor was sweet but not overly so, with just enough fizz to make it feel festive. It was like sipping on a warm summer day, surrounded by friends and family, with the sun shining brightly overhead. The pear flavor was subtle yet distinctive, adding a lovely depth and complexity to the drink. And as I savored each sip, I couldn't help but think of my childhood memories of drinking Martinelli's fizzy apple cider from champagne bottles.

The Roasty: A Potato Fritter with a Twist

As I gazed down at the roasty on my plate, I was struck by its humble appearance. The potato fritter looked almost ordinary, like something you'd find in a regular old restaurant. But as I took a bite, I realized that this was anything but ordinary.

The texture of the roasty was surprisingly delicate and tender, with a lovely crunch to it. And the flavor! Oh my goodness, the flavor was rich and satisfying, like a perfectly cooked potato pancake. It was clear that the chef had used high-quality ingredients and careful technique to create this dish. While I did think that a little bit of oil would have added an extra layer of crispiness to the roasty, it was still a truly delicious and memorable experience.

The Silinad: A Delightful Surprise

As I lifted the can of Silinad to my lips, I couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. What kind of fish could be paired with such a bold and savory marinade? But as I took a sip, I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer delightfulness of this dish.

The flavor of the Silinad was incredibly concentrated, with just a hint of sweetness and tanginess to balance out its richness. And as I savored each bite, I realized that the addition of bread had been inspired genius - it added just enough texture and creaminess to complement the fish perfectly. Overall, this was one of the most delightful surprises of my Ikea culinary adventure.

The Peppara Kaka: A Delightful Ginger Thin

As I unwrapped the peppara Kaka cookie, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. What kind of cookie could possibly pair with such a bold and flavorful ginger marinade? But as I took a bite, I was struck by the sheer delightfulness of this treat.

The texture of the peppara Kaka was light and airy, like a cloud in my mouth. And the flavor! But what truly set this dish apart was its unexpected twist on traditional cuisine. The addition of bread added just enough texture and creaminess to complement the potato fritter perfectly. And as I savored each bite, I realized that this was one of the most delightful surprises of my Ikea culinary adventure.

The Peppara Kaka: A Delicious Snacking Experience

As I unwrapped the peppara Kaka cookie, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. What kind of cookie could possibly pair with such a bold and flavorful ginger marinade? But as I took a bite, I was struck by the sheer delightfulness of this treat.

puffy so it's going to be perfect so I want to open it like a pea but it's not going to open like a pea it's a little bit like a fuka kind of fluffy let's have some of the cheese by itself here we go it's not flaky or cook like you would imagine a canned tuna fish would be it actually has a more raw t extra to it it's sweet and vinegared and the marinade tastes just like pickled gerkens you know those tiny little pickles or sweet relish tastes a lot like that in terms of flavor mhm it's not the slightest bit fishy at all it is very concentrated so let's have it with a piece of bread next mhm I think much better with the bread because it has so much of that marinade soaked into it it really does need something to kind of lighten it up great next I have a beverage and it's this isn't it Martinelli that fizzy apple cider that comes in the champagne bottles I used to love those as a kid I always felt so grown up but that's what this reminds me of but of course it's Paar flavored really lovely fresh pear flavor sweet but not overly so it's not as fizzy as soda but just enough Fizz to make it feel festive delish I'm back with the roasty and there it is I do feel like this is supposed to have some kind of sauce or something with it um but I don't know so it's sizzling on this really hot pan M oo quite hot and it tastes like a potato Fritter very humble mhm so there is a little bit of texture in there it tastes like a combination of a little bit of mashed potato with a little bit of grated potato a little bit different texture than a lotka but same rich nice potato flavor I think there might be a little bit of onion in there so they actually are quite reminiscent of lkas in that sense and not at all greasy or heavy but to be honest I think it would be even better fried in a little bit of oil cuz you get a little more crispas to them but I do feel like it needs a little bit of sour cream or applesauce but maybe that's just my own feeling out of habit but yeah not bad and the last thing I'm going to taste is this peppera Kaka great name and these are ginger thins these sadly got a little bit crushed but I think they're still oh wow they're very very tender very thin ginger cookie have ever had Anna cookies they're similar to this and the thinness of them they have a really lovely fluted Edge to them and they smell great too gingery and cinnamony mhm I find I don't really like ginger snaps because they tend to be a little bit hard for me but these on the other hand have that same gingery cinnamony flavor but a really light delicate thin crunch to them
