The Tragic Tale of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf: A Story of Defamation, Closure, and Kiwi's Resilience

It all started with a suggestion that would change the lives of many coffee lovers forever. Someone jokingly mentioned stealing the voting rights of the lemon and lime name, which was met with laughter and amusement. However, little did anyone know that this casual remark would have far-reaching consequences.

As the news spread like wildfire, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf found themselves at the center of a defamation lawsuit. The company's reputation was tarnished, and its future was uncertain. In a bizarre twist, it emerged that someone had sued for the name itself, highlighting the power of language and the importance of trademark protection.

The situation took a dark turn when Kiwi, the beloved bird, passed away. Her demise sent shockwaves through the community, with many fans expressing their grief on social media. The tragedy was too much to bear, and it seemed as though the world was coming to an end. Justine, the streamer behind the popular Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf series, was left reeling from the loss.

In a heart-wrenching moment, Justine revealed that she had been so invested in Kiwi's well-being that she had even shut down her stream to process her emotions. The usually upbeat and cheerful streamer was overcome with sadness, unable to continue filming without her beloved bird by her side.

Despite the tragic events unfolding around them, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf remained open for business. However, it seemed as though fate was not on their side, and they closed their doors forever. Justine was left to pick up the pieces and move on, searching for a new favorite coffee shop to visit.

As she approached a seemingly abandoned Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf location, something unexpected caught her eye – a 600-millimeter lens that seemed out of place among the humble coffee cups and saucers. The sheer magnitude of the lens left Justine speechless, and she couldn't help but wonder what other secrets this coffee shop held.

The camera equipment led Justine to a hidden nest, carefully concealed from view. As she peered through the lens, she spotted a pair of hummingbird hats that would supposedly protect her from hungry birds like Kiwi's babies. The note attached to the hat read: "For the gardener," leaving Justine wondering who had written it and why.

The discovery of the nest was bittersweet, as Justine couldn't help but think of Kiwi and her babies. She had been so invested in their lives that she felt a pang of sadness at the realization that they were no longer with her. The camera equipment remained, a poignant reminder of the tragedy that had unfolded just days before.

As Justine walked away from the coffee shop, she caught sight of a hummingbird flying overhead. It was Kiwi! She seemed to be flying high, but not alone – a boy bird was by her side. The news sent shockwaves through the community, and fans rejoiced at the prospect of new life.

Justine couldn't help but smile as she watched Kiwi soar through the air. It was clear that she had moved on, finding love and companionship with another bird. As the camera panned out, Justine's voice cracked with emotion as she shared her thoughts on social media.

The ordeal had been traumatic, but coming face-to-face with Kiwi had brought a sense of closure. The resilience of this small bird in the face of adversity was truly inspiring, and it seemed that she had found a new sense of purpose. As Justine looked up at the sky, she felt her heart fill with joy and her spirit lift.

In the end, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf may have closed its doors forever, but Kiwi's legacy lived on. Her story would continue to captivate fans around the world, reminding us all of the power of love, loss, and resilience in the face of adversity.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en(somber music)- This videowas going to be oneof my most favorite videosthat I've ever posted. It is something that made me so happy, but it also has brought me so much sadnessthat I can't even reallyput it into words. It's been a few days. And so this video isbasically showing you guys,a kind of the story ofthis hummingbird nestthat I found in my backyard. And then fortunately, something happenedand just the babiesdidn't survive and they,my God.I don't even like, Ihate talking about it.But, I really wanted to share this videowith you guys because it issomething that made me so happy. And so many of you were likesharing this journey with me.We were live streaming on Twitch.I think we almost hit like 300 hours.I kind of just like left you guys hangingwith this whole Twitch stream. It was really traumatic, because we had all had investedso much time, and so muchheart, and so much loveinto these little birds. And then, you know, forthis tragedy to happen,a lot of you may have neverhad to deal with grief or lossof a loved one, or afriend, or pets or anything. So grieving for some of you, maybe something that is new.So anything that you'refeeling it's totally normal. It's confusing. Don't be afraid to cry.Don't be afraid to ask forhelp or talk to someoneand being able to do that. And for us here to just kind of connectand grieve together is somethingthat I think is very important. And I just want you all to know, that I love you guys so much, and for just sharingthis beautiful journeywith all of us here online, and I just want you to knowthat Kiwi is still out thereand it just, is the most heartbreaking, but also like the most beautiful thingto just kind of stillgo outside my backyard. And she's still there.(upbeat music)So a little over a week ago, Idiscovered a hummingbird nestin my backyard, and I can't even tell youhow I felt when I found out, like I actually started getting emotional.I almost criedbecause I've never seen ahummingbird sit still before. Not only that, therewere two eggs in there.I was out of townfor about three weeks on aroad trip with my sister. And when I came back, thiswas here waiting for me.And I started doing a livestream over on Twitch. And like at this point it'sbeen going for over a week.We witnessed both ofthe eggs hatching live. When the first one hatched the first day,we were all losing our minds. And with a little bit ofresearch, the chat was like,Hey, there's a really good chancethat this other egg isgoing to hatch tomorrow. So once the eggs are laid, there's about a 13 to 17 dayperiod before they hatch. So we found this nest atpeople's perfect time ever. Here she is behind me.This is Kiwi and her two babieswhich currently have notbeen named at this point. And what's really weird is,I don't haveany like hummingbirdfood or on a feeder.Like there's nothing that I'veever done to bring them here. Now, after finding this nest,I also found three others in my trees.I feel like I have some sortof weird wildlife sanctuarythat I didn't even know existed back here.Wait, is that something else? What's that right there? That also looks like a potential other onethat has fallen off. This is, so that's five! How in the world do I have fivefreaking hummingbird nests?Like they must've been nesting herefor a very long time andI didn't even know it.Kiwi could have actually been bornin one of these nests, and nowshe's back having her babies.Oh my God, I'm gonna cry.So the crazy thing isanytime I come out hereand she flies away, like I can spot her up here just watching. So it's like, she know...Oh there she is! She's overthere. She's over there. She's over there. She's over there.(mumbles)She's over here. Some may say, just eitheryou've losing your mindand I'd say, maybe. She's going to zip over here real soon. There she is.There she goes. There she goes. And that's, what's so crazy about this. It's so hard to capturea hummingbird on camera, and the fact that she just sits hereand hangs out and feeds her babies. And we've been watching herforalmost200 hours live on Twitch. That's fascinating. It's absolutely fascinating. So here's the stream setup.I'm streaming everythingoff the Surface Book 3.And this thing has beenon for over 200 plus hoursat this point.I haven't even turned the screen off.Like I've been pushing this little laptopto its absolute limits. It's connected with an Elgato capture cardwhich is going outside to my Sony A7S III,with a 70 to 300 millimeter lens on.Now, when I started thisI was using the A7 IIIand it kept overheating. And I didn't really want to putmy brand new A7S III out therebut I had to do it for the nest cam.I'm also working on acouple of upgrades for this.I'm going to add a webcam here,so I can do some live streamingand live commentary overtop of the baby bird stream.I'm going to be gettinga 600 millimeter lensthat I'm borrowing from Sony to be ableto really get in that nest.Like I want it to feellike we're inside of it.And what's so weird iswatching this stream, you can't really see how smallthese birds actually are. These birds weigh absolutelynothing like the eggsfor almost like the size of tic-tacs.It's crazy! This bird has brought me so much joy.Like I can't even explain it.And it's so cool to be ableto share this with you,and seeing all of the commentsin the chat has been so fun.And I love that you guys arealso invested in this as well. And I think today in this videowe're going to officially namethe babies. So stay tuned.Let's open up that webcam, and get this setup. So here it is, it's USB, andit has adaptive light sensor1080p 60 frames a second. It's also HDR enabled, and nice wide angled lenswith an adjustable field of view, USB 3,and flexible mounting options, which is very important for,you know, commentatingovertop of baby birds.I love this flexible Mountcause you can Mount thisto a tripod or you caneven just kind of set iton the back of like yourmonitor or your laptop.Oh, this unscrews too.So do you want to add thisjust to a tripod stand alone? You can do that, or you canadd the flexible Mount back on.And there's also a littletripod attachment here as well.So many options.Oh, it's got a littlelens cap too. That's nice.Bird stream is about to evolve yet, again.Let's go set it up.(upbeat music)About to (mumbles) thewebcam for the first time. And this is so quick,I plugged it in and itauto- installed, auto-recognized.And then I downloadedthe Razer Synapse app, which will let me get somemore in-depth controlswith this camera, butreally I don't need it.I just added it into Streamlabs, and we're ready to go.We're now going to name the babies live.I have a few duo namesright now,but we needtwo more duo names.Web cam here test.Oh my God. (mumbles)And they're getting fed. They're feeding, they're feeding, they're feeding, they're feeding.Oh,feed the back one.The back one needs fed.Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're getting your meal.Have your meal.Hi, guys welcome to the stream. So, I'm actually recordinga YouTube video right now.We need two more duo names. You guys keep saying Yerba andMatte, but that's like, so...It's so obvious. You know Kahlua and Cream, that's cute. Egg and other egg.(laughs loudly)That's it, egg and other egg.(laughs loudly)You got to get the pool all set up.So guys, this is a very big moment. The babies are going to get their name. What do we name the babies?Frappeand Chino,Mochi andMacha,Coffee bean,(laughs loudly)Dude, that's my vote.Lemon and lime, and(laughs loudly)and egg and other egg. Here we go.I'm voting Coffee bean and Tea leaf. Not to like sway yourvotes. (sad piano music)Coffee bean and Tea leafis very close to my heart.Oh my gosh, Emily is here! She has just raided thechannel with 12 viewers.Hi, Emily.I think lemon and lime arewinning right now. Shoot.I've only got a few more minutes left.(mumbles) voter fraud.(laughs loudly)The bill and ballots here. It's just, you know, suggestions.Stop the count.Someone is suing for defamationof the lemon and lime name.History repeats again.Oh,my gosh.We stole the voting.(laughs loudly)I'm losing my mind.Oh, this is, the suspenseis, is actually killing me.I am going to go to Coffee Beanand Tea Leaf after this event wins. And we have ourselves awinner! Ladies and Gentlemen,Coffee bean and Tea leaf, has won! (laughs loudly)Kiwi, named your babiesCoffee bean and Tea leaf.Well, I guess I'm going to goto Coffee Bean Tea Leaf now.How do you guys feel?(somber piano music)It's closed.I used to drink my latte's here.I sit by the fire and enjoy it.But now, there's no enjoying. So, it looks like my favoriteCoffee Bean and Tea Leaf is closed.Guess the baby names are now a tribute.Let's go find another onethat might actually be open.(upbeat music)So we're going to be approachinga Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, that appears to be open. There's a sign that says we're open.(upbeat music)This one's for you Kiwi, and Coffee beanand Tea leaf babies. It's here, It's here, It'shere, It's here, It's here,It's here, It's here, It's here.(unboxing suitcase)Oh,whathave we here?Hey Justine, is this necessary?Absolutely. This is my life. All right, little guys.We have got something for you.Had to shut the streamdown. It's quite tragic. So we're, we're dark for a minute. This might be the biggest lens I've hadon this camera, because inwhat world do I ever need,A 600 millimeter?Which world is that?Is it this one?(upbeat music)Oh my gosh, we are sofreaking close to this nest. You guys, you all lose your minds. So look at the differencebetween the 300 to the 600.Unbelievable.(upbeat music)The quality of this lens is unbelievable.Like I can actually see thefeathers on these babies.Like I can, the detail. It's just, overwhelming.(upbeat music)There's apparently likehummingbird hats that youcan wear when they willlike feast out of your hat. This is new information to me.I made this little note. It's a little bit weathered at this point, but I made this for the gardenerbecause I didn't want themto do any sort of gardeningon my fake grass that maypotentially disturb the babes.Cheers.(melancholy orchestral music)I'm so sad. I have toend this video this way.(cries loudly)This is (mumbles) that Iwas so afraid of happening, and it did. I can't even walk outside.Something not (mumbles) last night. And unfortunately thebabies, they didn't make it.There's a clip of it on Twitch.Yes. I think something just cut upeither chopped down thebranch, and knocked it down.God, I hate it. (crying continues)(melancholy orchestral music)(melancholy piano music)It's been like such a traumatizing week, but coming out here andstill seeing Kiwi fly aroundand,we might've spotted her with a boy.Hi, Kiwi.Oh my baby, oh I'm so happy to see her.It warms my heart.Like just seeing her still here. She hasn't left. She hasn't given up andjust kind of seeing hermove on,has sort of helped me move on.Like I know, that some people apparently like,This is crazy. How are you so invested in these birds?I don't know, honestly, likethey, they captured my heart. They captured all of your guys' heartshere on the internet. And I just love to show you guys Kiwi, and show you that she's doingwell and she's still here. And we've seen herflying around with a boy,and I think she might belooking for a new place to nest.So Kiwi, I think has moved on.I'm sure she's grieving as all of us have. It's definitely hasbeen a very tough week.I'm not going to lie. It's just like trying to process itand not sure if I should shareit with you guys or anythingbut this video was so beautifuland it was so special to me.So I'm so glad that you guys were ableto come along for this journeyand share Kiwi and her babies. And maybe, just maybe,we'll have another nest. And I will protect thatnest with my own life.(melancholy piano music)\n"
