GIANT HERSHEY'S KISS Candy Bar How To Cook That Ann Reardon

Welcome to How To Cook That: Giant Series

We started this Giant Series a couple of years ago, and I make giant candy bars and give them to people who are doing giant things. We've done a Snickers, Kit Kat, Ferrero Rocher, Mars bar, and a Twix. Today, we're going to make a giant Cookies and Cream Hershey's Kiss. You'll need loads of cookies, of course, and heaps of white chocolate. I'll put all the recipe quantities on the website for you.

To begin, melt and temper your white chocolate. If you don't temper it, it won't set firm at room temperature. I have a video called "Chocolate Secrets" that shows you how to temper chocolate, so make sure to watch that one if you want to get it right.

For the shape of a Hershey's Kiss, we're going to need a mold. The closest thing I could find is a huge funnel. I got this at a car supply store. It's got a few bumps that we don't want because the kiss is more rounded in shape. What we'll do is just shave some chocolate off once it's set to make it match. We obviously need to block the end, so take some blue tape and place it over the end and press it on firmly. Then, put the whole thing upside down into a container to hold it upright.

Ladle some of your tempered chocolate into the funnel and along the sides. You want to make sure you're using real chocolate that contains cocoa butter. Compound chocolate just doesn't taste as good, and we want our Hershey's Kiss to be rich and decadent. Now, let's talk about what makes a great dessert: ingredients.

While our white chocolate is cooling, let's think about the priorities of teaching young men how to become strong, confident individuals. We'd like to teach them the importance of self-esteem, discipline, and making productive decisions that will contribute to their communities. That's exactly what our guest today, Mr. Thompson, is doing with his step dance group, The Nubian Gents.

Mr. Thompson started a step dance group for 70 students who were struggling with low self-esteem and a lack of direction in their lives. But it wasn't just about teaching them how to dance; it was about instilling values like masculinity, integrity, and the importance of making good choices. His approach has been incredibly successful, and his students are now dancing all around the world.

So, what would Mr. Thompson say to young people who are feeling stuck or unsure about their place in the world? "Never allow a negative experience to define you or dictate the outcome of your lives," he would say. "Choice is a powerful thing, and you can choose to become imprisoned by circumstance or make life work for you." He encourages his students to "make it a great day" every single day.

Now that we've learned about Mr. Thompson's inspiring work with The Nubian Gents, let's get back to our giant Cookies and Cream Hershey's Kiss. Once the chocolate has cooled and set, we can break it apart and add some Oreos for an extra-special touch. And what a treat it is! With its creamy white chocolate and crunchy Oreo bits, this giant Hershey's Kiss is sure to be a hit.

this is going to be a huge Hershey'sKiss.If you need to add in some support to makeit stand up straight.Then add more cookies to the top and pushthem into the chocolate.Leave that at room temperature overnight sothe chocolate can set up properly all theway through.Then take your heavy chocolate filled funneland tip it upside down.Give a little shake and it should just fallout, the weight of it there is helping itcome out of the funnel.Now to make it the right shape.Use a knife and gently shave off some of thechocolate round the outside edge there.Try not to touch the chocolate with you fingersjust hold it with some of the baking paper.We also need to get rid of this ridge at thetop.And I am going to use a potato peeler to shaveoff a layer at a time and make it smooth.Now we need the top to be rounded too, it'sa bit taller than we need so just carve intoit and use your peeler to make it round.The funnel is also quite flat and the Kissesare more rounded or dip down, so if you wantto you can use a knife to shave off a layerall the way around.I'm using the knife to shave it off and thenusing the peeler smooth it out.Now you can use all these shavings down thebottom on top of ice cream or a dessert oron top of a cake.To make the wrapper take some foil and placeanother sheet over the top, make sure they'renice and long.Fold it down once and flatten it out, thenfold it over again, this will make our join.Once you've got that flattened, open it upand squash it down.Add a strip of Kisses to the middle I'll puta PDF of this on the website so you can printyour own.And position your Kiss right in the middle.Pull the foil up and then push onto the Kissand smooth it around the shape.Then move around pulling the next sectionup and smoothing it on.Keep going like that, pulling it up and smoothit around the shape, leaving the paper stickingout on one side.If you have too much foil at the top you canjust trim it off and then bend it around overthe top.Continue all the away around lifting and smoothing.Then trim the paper a bit shorter.And there you have a giant Hersheys Kiss,let's go give it to someone amazing.Today I have with me Lamont O'Neil from theNubian Gents.Lamont was a Spanish teacher in New York whenhe noticed that some of his students werestruggling with low self-esteem and had alack of direction in their lives, so he thoughthe'd do something about it.He started a step dance group and 70 studentssigned up and now they danced all around theworld.Can you say welcome to How To Cook That inSpanish?Bienvenido a cómo al cocinero queApart from actually teaching them how to dance,which they do amazingly well, what are theother priorities -
