Urban Exploring and Wildlife Encounters: A Journey Through the Woods

over the weekend really nice gentleman from uh tennessee i think is where he was from picked it up so no more rig sad times i'm gonna miss it but the goal is to eventually get like a two-car enclosed trailer maybe sometime this year trailer prices are just freaking nuts right now belmont came out with a new album stoked about that but nine am sharp every monday morning we have kind of like a weekly build meeting where we just talk about everything we're going to do for the week figure out if we got to order any parts figure out what car is your priority we got a lot of stuff coming up so i'm going to hop in that meeting now okay all right guys welcome to this video there's been a lot going on with r32 but we've been all over the place making other videos we're in colorado and there's a lot of stuff to bring you guys up to speed with i guess the first thing that we can dive into was the motor going in the car i was here for that i did film it on my phone so i'm gonna include that footage now it's crazy because it looks identical to what it did before but it's so much better all right so the motor's mocked up but here's where it gets tricky this is the old housing we had to run you can't get a t4 open scroll housing from garrett so we wound up having to find like a aftermarket one but they're only available in eight three this engine is going to need to breathe a lot up top it's built to rev so we are trying garrett's divided t4 that they make for the g35 but we're having a little bit of issues with uh valve cover clearance so we have two options we can either grind the valve cover down which we feel kinda not really the ideal way yeah we could cut it weld it patch it it's not that proper way it works and nothing against that better to find a solution that just plug and play i prefer v-band i've definitely had my issues with t4s and this would be a divided housing on an open manifold so we can go over to vband and then ditch this that would be pretty cool and then we could even go to a bigger ar if we had to so we decided to go down the route of switching the manifold this right here is artec's beautiful cast tubular style manifold but what's cool about it is this utilizes a reverse rotation turbo so instead of having to have the runners come and point towards the valve covers and then have the turbo go back which in theory would create a little bit more restriction you just have the housing able to go up and around instead of having to go up and around garrett does make the turbo that we're running a g35 1050 in reverse rotation so that works out well and sean has a photo of it mocked up in the engine bay so you'll be able to see right now on the screen now that it's perfect it places the turbo right where it needs to be now we have room to run the bigger turbo we have room for the downpipe we don't need to modify valve covers or worry about the strut tower the motor was all together and just about ready to start but there was a little oil leak and if you look this pan that's been on and off my rb god knows how many times now uh just from being taken on and off it has some warpage and some like little bends here so you can kind of see right there there's like a little bit of a low spot we could probably make it work but we're actually waiting on another version of the manifold that one that we have right now is a prototype so instead of being ghetto and making it work we figured we might as well redo this so johan's gonna weld a new oil pan tomorrow that way we've got a fresh new oil pan set up and then by the time we get all the other parts together everything should be good to go so another thing that we decided to do i don't know how well you guys will be able to see this in here but uh my wiring harness that was in my r32 was effectively a stock harness that had been spliced into and modified about a million times somehow that car worked and was running and took three years of abuse but when you start to dive into this there's a lot of connections that uh it starts to get a little dicey so this whole thing is just a giant mess even though i made it look kind of nice made the call and i ordered a wiring specialties harness so it's already on the engine now i can show you guys real quick briefly but now i have a proper harness that is wired for all the little accessories that i have for sensors so there's no weird splicing or ghetto stuff going on instead of just putting another motor in the car we're constantly trying to make it better and better and better and better you know so you can see nice new harness everything's loomed nicely wiring specialty is the way to go if you want to just get a harness and make sure that your car is going to start on first fire we run them pretty much all the cars i've had nothing but good luck the front of the motor looks really cool with all the new red prp stuff as well i'm super excited to see this thing back in the car and get it running hopefully fingers crossed by the end of this week we'll have everything we need to get this thing ripping in case it isn't very obvious what reverse rotation turbos you can see standard rotation versus reverse rotation they will just go opposite ways so for certain builds and fitments our tech does leverage the reverse rotation turbos that garrett offers and it lets you kind of fit stuff in certain engine bays like i think one of their other turbos is an evo setup that is reverse rotation we got them all in the drift hq site so i'm going with the g35 1050 the motor i'm targeting hopefully make around 800 horsepower so i could probably get away with the g35900 that i had on it before but i know it's certainly not going to have enough air up top to be able to push and make power at the higher rpm range like i wanted to i wanted a car to have a very linear power band kind of like the chaser i love linear power bands linear is one of my favorite things in the world big fan of linear things like lines i love straight edge ruler what's linear y equals x that's one of my favorite graphs out there if i could do that with this turbo i'd be stoked this is adam from the
