iOS 17.5 - Apple is Changing!

iOS 17.5 Developer Beta 1: A Deep Dive into New Features and Changes

Hey guys, so iOS 17.5 developer beta 1 has been available for the last couple of days, and as per usual, I always like to come back and share with you guys any additional new features and changes that I may come across after using the beta for a couple of days now. For public beta testers if you want to try this out, it is now available for you guys as well so iOS 17.5 beta 1 is now available for public beta testers and registered developers.

Now, with iOS 17.5 there isn't too many physical changes as of yet, beta 1, but there is a lot of things happening under the hood and in the background that are going to impact the end user eventually. I wanted to talk about those changes in today's video, so let's go ahead and Dive Right In.

One minor change for the podcast widget on the home screen of iPhone is worth mentioning. If you click play on a podcast, the actual widget will change according to the thumbnail for that podcast. It is a minor change but a nice touch to Apple's podcast application widget for the home screen of iOS 17.5.

Another new feature I've noticed under privacy is Pass Keys access for web browsers and applications. This basically allows you to see which websites and or applications you saved any Pass Key to. Right there we have a new icon for this particular category right there, so that's a minor change. A new icon for pasy Access for web browsers on the Privacy section for iOS 17.5.

Apple is also working on some bigger changes under the hood for the EU, and one of those changes is allowing users to install apps directly from developer websites. So basically, you'll go to a developer website, it'll go through a verification process, but you'll be able to install apps outside of the app store again directly from a developers website. Let me know if this is something you would like to see happen here in the United States, in order to download applications outside of the App Store in or directly from developers website.

Last but not least, I want to talk about something that's going to be coming to iOS 17.5 and it appears that Apple and Google once again are going to partner up to address unwanted tracking for IOS and Android devices. Apparently, Apple and Google are going to be working together on a notification system to notify users of unwanted tracking devices not only air tags but any unwanted tracking devices.

This is going to be something that both companies are going to be working together in order to prevent any air tag tracking or any tracking device you'll be able to see a notification if any tracking device is tracking you. I think this is a great partnership and hopefully, this continues to move forward in order to provide users on the Android side and iOS side with better privacy.

This is still developing a lot more changes may be happening down the road public beta testers again, you can try this out right now. Thank you for watching in this quick update, let me know what you think about this software so far and some of the changes happening physically and in the background. I hope you guys have a great day, and I'll see you guys on the next one.
