**Building a Reliable Gaming PC**
I recently decided to build a new gaming PC and after researching and testing various components, I've found a reliable and satisfying setup that meets all my needs.
For the motherboard, I chose Crucial's Ballistic Sport LT, which is one of the cheapest DDR4 options available. It comes in at 2400 MHz, but it can be easily overclocked in the BIOS to reach higher speeds. Although I would have preferred to go for two 8GB DIMMs to give a total of 16GB of memory, RAM prices have recently doubled over the past year and a half due to increased demand for DDR4 RAM with the rise of Ryzen CPUs and Intel's X299 Thread Ripper. As a result, I've opted for the cheapest option available.
For storage, I've chosen Barracuda's 1TB hard drive, which comes in at 7200 RPM and is as fast as mainstream consumer hard drives. It also fits into a standard 32mm form factor, making it easy to install in my case. With 1000GB of capacity, I think it will be more than enough for most people's games, Origin, Steam libraries, documents, applications, and Windows installation.
**Gaming GPU**
For the graphics card, I've chosen MSI's GeForce GTX 1060, which is one of the best-rated options available. I opted for the 6GB model, but before proceeding with the build, make sure to check the stock levels and prices on websites such as Amazon, as they can fluctuate rapidly.
Recently, GPU stock levels and prices have skyrocketed due to a surge in demand from Ethereum mining, which is currently at its peak. The situation may stabilize by the time you're watching this video, but it's essential to keep an eye on GPU pricing and availability before making any purchases. For more information, please refer to the description below for links to Amazon Prime, where you can get free one or two-day delivery on most of the items mentioned in this build.
**Case**
For the case, I've chosen Corsair's Carb On4, a new entry into my PC build lineup. This case features good airflow and is easy to upgrade, with support for full-size ATX power supplies and up to 240mm liquid cooling systems. The black and red model I chose looks fantastic, but it's essential to check out reviews from other builders, such as Dino PC, which reviewed the white and red version of this case.
**Power Supply**
Finally, for the power supply, I've chosen EVGA's 600B 600W unit, which is an 80+ Bronze certified, 600W power supply that should provide plenty of headroom for future upgrades. With a power output of around 270-280 watts at 100% load, this power supply is well-suited for most gaming builds.
**Conclusion**
This build has come together to form a reliable and efficient gaming PC that I'm excited to use for gaming and other activities.
