OnePlus 6T Complete Walkthrough - A Worthy Successor

The OnePlus 6 T is a device that comes with several features and specifications that make it a great option for users who are looking for a high-end smartphone at an affordable price.

One of the standout features of the OnePlus 6 T is its design, which is similar to other devices in the same series. The device has a glass back and aluminum frame, making it look premium and durable. The device also comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back and an IP68 rating, making it resistant to dust and water.

The display of the OnePlus 6 T is another notable feature, with a large 6.3-inch AMOLED screen that offers excellent brightness and color accuracy. The screen also has a high refresh rate, making it ideal for gaming and watching videos. The device also comes with a USB-C port, which allows for fast charging and data transfer.

In terms of performance, the OnePlus 6 T is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, which provides excellent speed and performance. The device also comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, making it suitable for heavy users who need a lot of storage space.

One of the unique features of the OnePlus 6 T is its camera system, which is similar to that of the OnePlus 6 but with some additional features. The device comes with a dual-camera setup, featuring a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor. The camera also has optical stabilization and dual-phase autofocus, making it ideal for taking high-quality photos.

The camera app is user-friendly and offers several modes and options, including a timer, flash, and four by three nineteen point five by nine aspect ratio. The device also comes with Google Lens integration, which allows users to translate text, search for items, and more. For video recording, the OnePlus 6 T can shoot 720p and 30fps, 1080p and 30fps in 64k, and 4K at 60fps.

The phone also has slow-motion video capabilities, with the ability to record 1080p at 240fps or 720p at 480fps. The device also comes with a portrait mode that creates a more blurred background, similar to professional lighting effects. Additionally, the camera can use scene detection to automatically adjust contrast, brightness, and saturation.

The OnePlus 6 T also has a Nightscape mode, which is essentially a long exposure shot like the Night Mode on Huawei devices or Night Sight on Pixel 3 and 3 XL, but it doesn't actually hold the exposure for as long. The device also comes with a Pro mode that allows users to adjust settings such as ISO, shutter speed, and more manually.

Other camera features include time-lapse mode, panorama mode, location data storing, shutter sound controls, quick capture, and watermark. There is also a smile capture feature that automatically takes a photo when it detects a smile in the frame of the front camera only.

In conclusion, the OnePlus 6 T offers several impressive features and specifications that make it a great option for users who are looking for a high-end smartphone at an affordable price. The device's design, display, performance, and camera system are all top-notch, making it a solid choice for anyone in the market for a new phone.

The question remains whether or not the OnePlus 6 T is worth upgrading to from other devices. While the device does offer some impressive features, it may not be worth upgrading to unless you can get a decent amount of money for the original OnePlus 6, which would allow you to buy the newer model at a discounted price.

However, even if that's not possible, the OnePlus 6 T is still a great option for anyone looking for a high-end smartphone. The device's design, display, performance, and camera system are all top-notch, making it a solid choice for anyone in the market for a new phone.

It's worth noting that because the OnePlus 6 T is so close in price to the original OnePlus 6, it may be hard to get a decent amount of money for it. Most people would rather buy the newer model if they're paying close to that amount.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enI left her a bit of weight finally got my hands on a 160 but one plus was kind enough to send me now I have to admit I always vision the 60 or the T model from oneplus kind of like the s model from the iPhone with just a few extra features that they try to convince you that it's worth an upgrade but nothing terribly exciting this time however Davey put some exciting features in here is it enough to justify an upgrade from a1 plus 6 I'm not sure but let's find out in this complete walkthrough now i mean i'm familiar could walk from our channels where i try to go through every feature i possibly can on a new device so you guys if you're in the market to buy one are better prepared with that information with that said there is a lot to go through as always so let's get started with the design we have a girly guys 6 front and back with the aluminum frame similar to the 1 plus 6 is Gorilla Glass 5 layout and it comes in midnight black a matte black and mirror black also just like the 1 plus 6 no one thing you will notice that is different about the back of the 60 versus the 6 however is the missing fingerprint sensor that's because 1 plus is now using an in display fingerprint sensor similar to the huawei mate 20 Pro I just did a video on which you can check out below it works by taking a photo of your fingerprint through the glass essentially and is actually the fastest one that I've ever used that display by the way is also now a six point four one inch 2340 by 1080 resolution nineteen point five by nine aspect ratio am LED screen that yes has a notch but it's this much more subtle teardrop shape compared to some of the other devices we've seen in the knotch we had the same 16 megapixel eff 2.0 aperture front-facing camera they can also be used for face unlock albeit not quite the same as the IR enabled ones from Huawei and Apple but the one built into Android now which is still pretty snappy it just doesn't work in as well in low light the front camera is capable of 1080p and here's what that looks like along with what the microphones sound like at the bottom of the screen we have a slightly smaller chin than the one plus six which is nice on the Left we have our volume buttons and our dual SIM of micro SD card slot combo on the right we have our physical profile switcher that lets you slide it to go from ring to vibrate - silent quickly as well as customize each of these profiles if you want in settings and our power button at the top we have nothing at the bottom we have our USB C port no headphone jack - a lot of people's dismay and dual stereo speakers speaking of speakers we're using the same dirac HD TVs and one plus six and they sound like this with awesome under the little one plus 16 you have the same a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and we have a 128 gigs of storage option with the choice of 6 or 8 gigs of ram and a 256 gig storage option with 8 gigs of ram only powering all this we have a 400 milliamp larger battery than the 1 plus 6 for a total of 37 hundred milliamps we also have bluetooth 5.0 optics HD for better audio streaming over Bluetooth Wi-Fi 802 title of an AC NFC and gigabit LTE for software everyone pluses skin called oxygen OS on top of Android 9.0 Pi that aims to be quote stuck but better and frankly that's pretty accurate the device is super snappy as they usually are and is further optimized to have apps open faster than even pixel devices see my video linked below for that also the look and feel is very much similar to a stock or pixel like version of Android but there are a few noteworthy additions firstly here are the apps that oneplus did add community which is an app basically for their forum that allows you to chat with other oneplus members as well as a section for Tips & Tricks oneplus switch which is an app to transfer all of your data from another Android phone to the new one or vice versa then we have a gesture system that you can use for system navigation instead of the normal three Android buttons it's very similar to the iPhone 10 series and then you can swipe up from off the bottom of the screen to go home swipe up and hold to get to multitasking but to go back you swipe up from the bottom right or left and you can also swipe up and to the right to jump back for the last app quickly oneplus has also added some useful software feature additions to in addition to a ton of customization options so let's go through some of those really quickly you can swipe to the far left home screen to get one plus version of the Google now page with similar recent apps cards for things that they think are important a place to add widgets to etc we also have a hidden drawer in the app drawer that you can get to by swiping from the left side of the screen that will show any hidden apps you can add more to this secret drawer using the plus button at the top we have a knight mode to adjust the blue light as the Sun goes down to help you sleep reading mode that turns everything black and white and can being able to automatically turn on for specific apps if you want we have various screen calibration modes an option to hide the knotch by turning the no vacation bar black and display which is they're always on display but it actually only works when you raise the phone or when you tap the screen then we have some utilities like gaming mode that stops notifications from interrupting your games left you answer calls via the speaker phone automatically limit other app network usage for less lag in the game and disable automatic brightness etc a particularly clever feature that I found was the quick launch which makes use of the in display fingerprint sensor but giving you the ability to hold down when using the fingerprint sensor on the lock screen to bring a base set of customizable shortcuts you can then swipe down to exit this and get back to the normal home screen parallel apps which lets you have two of the same app on the device to allow for two separate logins think to snapchat or whatsapp accounts on the same device this is similar to AB clean and other features on other manufacturers phones but it's nice to see that it's been added here there's also an Apple Locker which lets you block access to apps without using a pin code or fingerprint sensor scheduled to power on and power off a feature they mentioned during the launch called smart boost that uses daily usage to decide what apps to keep in RAM longer than others thereby making them launch a lot faster and finally you can double tap the power button to get to the camera which I always appreciate as well as tap and hold it for a second to bring up Google assistant which is handy if you're using the system navigation gestures since there's no more holding down on the home button to bring it up in that case or you can tap it over for three seconds to get to your normal power and reboot options now speaking of the camera let's go through that next we have the same camera as the one plus 6 honestly so that means a dual camera setup that is comprised of a 16 megapixel F 1.7 aperture with 1.2 2 micron pixels with optical stabilization and dual phase autofocus and a 20 megapixel F 1.2 aperture camera also with dual phase autofocus but with one micron pixels instead these are paired with a dual LED flash the camera UI is the following modes and options we have the options for a timer flash options and the choice of four by three nineteen point five by nine and one by one aspect ratio with no options for different resolutions we also have google lens integration which allows you to translate things using the camera shop for items search by image etc for video it can shoot 720p and 30 1080p and 30 1080p in 64k 30 and 4k 60 which are all accessible from inside the you eye interestingly enough and we have slow-motion video that can shoot in 1080p at 240 frames per second or 720p at 480 also we have a portrait mode that creates a more blurred background and is apparently tuned by a new photographer partner of theirs along with their new studio lighting effects the idea here is that it uses face detection automatically not just blur the background but are just shadows and highlights on the subjects face to more mimic a professional lighting situation in addition to this the camera can use scene detection to automatically adjust contrast brightness and saturation this is something it does automatically that cannot be turned off but it's a lot more subtle thankfully than the AI scene detection features that we're used to seeing on other devices we have nightscape mode as oneplus is calling it and it's basically a long exposure shot like we have night mode on huawei and night sight on the pixel 3 and 3 Excel except that it doesn't actually hold the exposure as long they did mention that there is something different about this as well but they didn't make a point to say what we have a pro mode which allows you to adjust things like ISO shutter speed etc manually a time lapse mode which allows you to create sped up videos and a panorama mode that allows you to stitch photos together to create one Pam erotic shot like were used to going through the camera settings we have settings for location data storing as metadata in the image for organizational reasons shutter sound controls quick capture that takes a photo automatically when the camera is launched by double tapping the power button this always seems like a bad idea to me but maybe for somebody we have a series of grid options manual HDR controls which allow you to manually turn HDR on or off personally I think you should probably just leave this off so phone uses it whenever needed like every other phone auto night scene detection will turn on the night scape mode automatically if the scene is dark enough instead of having to switch to it manually as a mode which i think is useful watermark which allows you to add a watermark to every photo smile capture which will make the phone automatically take a photo of it detects a smile in the frame of the front camera only invert photo flips the front camera a horizontal orientation to have a more mimic a mirror histogram controls whether a histogram is visible when using pro mode and horizontal reference line gives you a line to show you if the image is properly level during pro mode and there you guys quick rundown and complete walkthrough of the 1 + 6 t now to answer the question originally posed the beginning of this video is it worth an upgrade I still I still don't think so unless unless you can get a decent amount of money for that one plus six by selling it use now the issue with that is that because the 1 plus 16 the 1 plus 6 are so close in price on 1 plus is website it's gonna be hard to get decent amount of money for the 1 plus 6 because most of those people would rather buy 16 if they're paying close to that amount there
