Moto E Gaming Review with Asphalt 8

The Moto E's Performance and Graphics

I recently had the opportunity to play Asphalt 8 on my Moto E, and I was impressed by its performance and graphics. The game is set at medium graphics settings, which was default on my phone. To test its capabilities, I adjusted the controls to touch mode and played a few levels on the Nevada map. At first glance, the Moto E handled Asphalt 8 nicely, but as the game progressed, I noticed some minor stutters and frame rate drops.

However, after about 5 minutes of playing, my brain got used to the frame rate, and it became less noticeable. The phone's performance was impressive, considering its price point of around $7,000 in India. I couldn't find any other Android phones that could play Asphalt 8 as smoothly as this Moto E. The game rendered most of its graphics at medium level, but there were some exceptions. When the action on screen increased, the frame rate would drop slightly.

One thing to note is that the phone's limited internal storage can be a con. I transferred my Asphalt 8 data to the micro SD card slot, which has a capacity of 8GB. However, only about 166MB of data could be moved to the SD card, leaving most of it on the internal storage. This limitation applies to other games as well, and users may not be able to install many heavy games due to the limited space.

On the other hand, the Moto E excelled in casual gaming, handling titles like Asphalt 8 with ease. Its performance and graphics capabilities make it a great option for casual gamers who want a smooth experience without breaking the bank.

The Phone's Controls and Immersive Mode

During my gameplay session, I had to navigate the phone's controls, which were different from what I'm used to on other devices. The Moto E has a unique control scheme that uses virtual buttons at the top of the screen. To exit immersive mode, I had to swipe from the top of the screen and press the virtual button.

The phone's immersive mode is also worth mentioning. It provides an immersive experience with no visible buttons or notifications, which can enhance gameplay. However, users need to be aware that some features might not work as expected in this mode, such as switching between apps or accessing certain settings.

Storage Limitations

One of the main limitations of the Moto E's performance is its internal storage capacity. The phone comes with a limited amount of internal storage, which can restrict the number of games and apps users can install. This limitation applies to Asphalt 8 as well, where only about 15-20% of the game can be moved to the SD card.

This limitation highlights the importance of having expandable storage options. Users who want to play heavy games like Asphalt 8 may find themselves limited by the phone's internal storage capacity. However, the Moto E's micro SD card slot provides a convenient option for users who need more storage space.

Conclusion

The Moto E is an impressive device that can handle high-end Android games like Asphalt 8 with ease. Its performance and graphics capabilities make it a great option for casual gamers who want a smooth experience without breaking the bank. However, its limited internal storage capacity may be a con for users who want to install heavy games or applications.

Overall, I'm impressed with the Moto E's performance and gaming capabilities, and I would recommend it to users looking for a budget-friendly device that can handle demanding games.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and I have this Moto E with me and in this video we'll be doing the gaming with asphal 8 I've already done the gaming review with some casual games link for that video will be in the YouTube show notes and uh I have installed asphal 8 on this Moto E so let's run the same uh one thing to not is that uh asphal 8 is a pretty big game and it consumes a lot of storage and internal storage uh I'll talk about the storage at the end of the video so this this is asphal area and let me show you the settings uh if you go to sound and settings I'll just increase the sound a little bit 70% and we are using it at the medium Graphics settings which was default so let's go to the controls and I'm going to use these touch controls so let's play a few levels on this asphal 8 now and we're going to play this Nevada level now and this Moto has a front firing speaker and as you can see it's handling it fine at times I notice a minor stutter here and there and the frame rate also can drop at times but for the most part as you can see it runs it pretty well and actually uh just get used to this frame rate after about 5 minutes of playing but no way it's the smoothest experience that I had on the asphal tap but again considering this price of this Moto E you simply can't complain and as you can see most of the graphics are getting rendered at this medium level but it's amazing to see that this uh Moto E can play as F eight actually pretty well but again as I told you the frame rate is not not the smoothest and at times uh when there's a lot of action going on it does tend to fall a little bit but as you can see I'm playing it I'm able to play it actually pretty well at this price point uh I would say uh I don't see any other uh Android phone that could play asphal uh is this well so as you can see uh this was one level and now let me also shift to One More Level and now let's also take this Iceland level we use the same car finding the drift again the lens player Etc getting rendered properly let's move out of this the thing is that uh uh if this phone can play Asal it it will be able to play almost any other high-end Android uh game the only con is the limited internal storage you saw that Jer uh this is uh that sometimes there is a frame drop as I mentioned earlier but definitely I have to say uh seeing how it is playing the game uh you just can't say that this phone cost just 7,000 rupes in India the experience is amazing for the price that you're getting because many of the other Android phones that cost even uh more than double the cost of this Moto E have problem playing as F 8 uh this one so as you can see it's playing it actually very well uh so let me just get out of this and let me also talk about the storage now and one more thing you'll notice that uh I crashed it's in the immersive mode you don't see any virtual buttons to get back to it just swipe from the top and you get to the virtual button so just let's head home and now let me talk about the storage the thing is that Asphalt 8 is a pretty big game though this phone has a Micro SD card slot and I have a 8GB micro SD card slot uh the thing is that yes some of the apps some of the data could be moved to the SD card but the thing was that if you notice uh I have moved the Asphalt 8 to the SD card uh but the Asphalt 8 is around 1.4 GB but only a limited part of the app could be moved to the SD card and this is the experience with almost every game just about 15 to 20% of the game is only movable to the SD card and as you can see out of that 8 GB only 166 MB of data is on my SD card so the thing is that yes many people are thinking that this phone has a SD card so all the apps can be moved no that's not the case only a limited part of the app can be moved and I don't blame Motorola for this uh it's how Google has streaked kit cat not the entire app cannot be moved to the SD card so yes the internal storage can be a limiting factor because out of the box you just get around 2 GB or so so the number of games and apps that you can install will be a bit limited and if you're going to install heavy heavy games like this asphal which are over 1 GB or so then you might be able to only install one or two games uh so the internal storage can be a limiting factor on this device but overall in terms of gaming uh I was really impressed with this and I also made another video in which I play some casual games and it was able to handle casual games also without any issue so overall it's pretty impressive phone even for gaming uh the con is the limited internal storage I'll also be doing a full in-depth review for this Moto E very soon so if you aren't subscribed to my YouTube channel
