UPDATED SIGNED BOOK COLLECTION #2.

A Fan's Experience: Meeting Favorite Authors at Comic-Con and Signing Events

I had the absolute pleasure of attending several signing events and meeting some of my favorite authors at Comic-Con. I was excited to get my hands on some signed copies of their books, but what made these experiences even more special were the interactions with the authors themselves.

One of the highlights of my weekend was when I met Marissa Meyer, author of The Lunar Chronicles. I had only read Winter, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and I was thrilled to meet her in person. She signed Cinder and Winter, both of which she inscribed with a personal message. Although I was eager to chat with her about her books, I didn't want to take up too much time, knowing that her line was long and she had a lot of fans waiting for their turn.

Despite the initial rush of excitement, I managed to tell her how much I loved her books and how they introduced me to the world of sci-fi. She was incredibly nice and sweet, and it was clear that she was exhausted from the long day at Comic-Con. I appreciated her kindness and generosity, not only with the signed books but also with her time.

My next author encounter was with John Green's brother, Hank Green, who is the author of The Chronicles of Nick series. However, I ended up meeting Zach Brewer, the author of The Chronicles of Nick as well. I had read all four books in the series, and I was a huge fan. When I finally got to meet him, I was like a nervous wreck, but he was incredibly kind and down-to-earth.

He signed my copy of Eighth Grade Bleeds, which is one of the first books I read in the series, and personalized it with "Zach with the fangs." He also signed 12th Grade Kills, another book that holds a special place in my heart. As a huge fan, I was thrilled to have this opportunity to meet him, even if it was brief.

Another highlight of my weekend was when I met Kiera Cass, author of The Selection series. Although her line was long, she was still kind and gracious with the fans waiting for their turn. She signed my copies of Selection and Real Beauty, both of which hold a special place in my heart as one of my favorite series.

Kiera's genuine smile and kindness put me at ease, and I loved chatting with her about her books. It was amazing to see how much enthusiasm and energy she still had despite the long day at Comic-Con. As a huge fan of The Selection series, it was incredible to meet Kiera and thank her for creating such an amazing world and characters.

The Last Three Books: A Sign of the Times

As I mentioned earlier, my sign collection grew significantly over the weekend, with a total of 16 signed books in hand. I had been eagerly waiting for these events and was thrilled to see so many authors gathered together.

One of the last signings I attended was a one-time event featuring Cassandra Clare and Holly Black. Although their schedules are unpredictable, they both showed up, and it was an amazing experience to have them sign all three books in The Mortal Instruments series.

However, I didn't get the chance to take a picture with either author, as my schedule changed unexpectedly. Nevertheless, their interactions with fans were genuine and warm, making me feel like I was part of something special.

A Few Words on Sign Books

As a fan of signed books, I can attest to the fact that there's nothing quite like having them in your collection. The excitement and joy of meeting an author, getting a personalized message, and holding a book that you love is truly unmatched.

If you've ever been to a signing event or met an author, what was it like? What books did they sign for you? Were there any memorable moments or interactions with the authors?

Leave a comment below and share your experiences with signed books! I'd love to hear about it.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enit's a boy my name is Emma and today I am doing an updated sign book collection about two or three months ago I had posted my first signed book collection and since then I've gotten a lot more backside so I felt the need to do an updated one before the year ends thirteen new design books for this video I'm really enjoying doing these signed book collection videos just because I go to so many different signings and stuff because I'm lucky enough to have that opportunity and I understand a lot of people don't get the chance to meet their favorite author but I know that I'm grateful that I'm lucky enough to and I just wanted to share all of these books with you guys I have already shown and discussed all of these 13 books on my channel in various videos but I want to have them all together so that I have my two sign book collections of 2015 and then next year when a surrogate more books sign then I can show you those I think I posted that first video in September so since then I've gone to two different events with those books so I'm gonna start with the first event which was the song clear and Holly black signing I vlog that entire experience if you want to see that like live and happening with me getting those book sign you can click the link in the description the first like a good sign it was city of glass by Cassandra Clare and she signed it here now I'm an idiot and I never put my post-its in the right area because when you go to a book signing a lot of times they'll make you put like a post-it where you want them to sign it with your name and whatever else and you're supposed to put it on this page but I I'm stupid and I put it on that page but it's still signed that's the most important thing and I also have city lots of those signed in the exact same spot now like I said I'm not going to talk too much about this event because I do the whole entire experience is in that vlog which I'm really proud of so you might want to watch it that leaves only two world entrance books that I'm missing from Cassandra Clare's sign games I'm talking for like 15 minutes after the signing just one on one which was really amazing in itself but she told me that she was coming back for Lady minutes she's gonna have a signing so hopefully I can get her to sign Lady midnight and I can get her to sign the last two Myrtle insurance books and I don't have the time or luncheon serious sign and I'm super excited the next author that I met was Holly black so I got the darkest part of the forest sign and it says for Emma and it's signed right there and I also got the coldest girl in coldtown signed by hair right there as well still says four and Mohali black I love Holly black signature stall watch it's so cool but I had finished the coolest around cold town like days before I met Holly black because I had already read the darkest part of the forest but I was like I don't want to go to a book signing only reading one book for this author I want to read too so I read it and I was just like in full-blown coldest girl in coldtown mode because that book was amazing and it was just so amazing to like be able to talk to her and like just tell her how much I loved the book she was like so taken aback because like it was just like weird vomiting all of these compliments about her and her books Holly Luck is just super cool then the moderator for the conversation of that signing was actually David Levithan and he was sending some books so I bought every day by him so I had but at the 92y which is where the signing was and realized that those were like signed copies a lot of them so it was already signed so I get it says hi guy and I'm like oh shit like now he's not gonna be able to sign it and I haven't read this book yet so what am I supposed to say to him but he told me that he could personalize it so he wrote to Emma live every day in wonder and he signed it because they had signed these books previously at books of wonder who works very closely with the 92y but I thought it was like nice that like even though it was signed like he wrote something extra in it I still haven't gotten around to reading everyday yet but it came out some of the good things so I really want to read it so the final author that I'm at that signing was David Baldacci the author of the finisher serious and apparently like 50 other books that I've never heard of like my mistake I've got a signing I thought he was like a new author or something cuz in the little blurb about the signing it said his new Y a series I'm like I like he's a new author but no like everyone knows who he is besides me and so I feel like this is the inside is black so he signed it in silver sharpie and like I just I thought it was really cool the finisher sounds like this super awesome like dystopian fantasy and this is another one that I haven't gotten around to reading in and I don't care much of it on booktube but I'm like really interested in it so I'm excited to read it soon but he was super nice like I hate going to book signings and not knowing the authors because every single time I end up buying their books and talking to them because I just I feel bad when you have this massive line for Cassandra Clare and Holly black and like nobody's at his table so I'm like let me go buy his book and get him to sign it and talk about it with him but he was like super excited and I was super excited so it was a really cool experience so everyone to llaves 25 tene and that's another line where I have a montage of all clips I took and I also have a trap up where I also show these books so if you want to know like the play-by-play of y'all fest I'll link those two videos down below as well it was video like I'm not talking too much about the experiences because I feel like I've already talked about them so much on my channel I don't want to be repetitive but I like having all my sign books in a specific area so like when you go you can be like oh look she has all these books line and like I'm super excited because I have all these book sign so I hope you're excited seeing all of these sign books so the first one I got signed at Gulf Fest was lot of sacrifice by Richelle me she said to Emma thanks for reading Richelle Mead I think that's how she signed it when I met her after reading Vampire Academy I think it's the same exact one which is nice so I didn't originally met her she'll meet at book on 2015 but I had only read Vampire Academy the first book in this series when I met her so like I was like obsessing over Vampire Academy while talking to her but I had heard all the books if you know me now man probably had to make is one of my all-time favorite series so it was like so wonderful to go back and say like I met you and I had only just read these books and now I finished all of them and they're so amazing it was a really cool experience and like I see this in like the other videos I'm talking about but she did originally had like a signing that was ticketed and only like the first 75 people got signed but had gone back later for a different signing and she was just chilling there signing more books so I'm like let me hop on over to this line and get my book signed so like that was cool I love your show me so much and I love having you so much and like it's gonna be a struggle getting all of the sign but I'm determined to have all six books science only four more to go you're next something that I met with Leigh bardugo and that is the author of shadow and bone he said this one to Emma Leigh bardugo and then she also signed six of crows which I haven't read yet but I bought it anyways and she wrote to Emma Leigh bardugo beat dangerous and I'm not sure like what's so dangerous about this book but I'm assuming that's pretty dangerous cuz she wrote it when she's trying to so the reason I ended up meeting Rochelle meet was because I made it to the line for Leigh bardugo because she has like a much longer signing lion and so at some point they had cut it off but we were like the last people to be on the line for the cut off we were like right at the edge of the doors and they shut them and we were like aw sweet like we're gonna be the last people to meet her but they ended up cutting it off again and we're like take these are spins come back leader she'll have a signing after her event so you went to the labor geo signing and that was Richelle Mead was and so I got to make two holidays there which is cool Leigh bardugo is super funny and nice oh my god she is all amazing I haven't finished the Grisha trilogy yet and I don't know what's wrong with me but I really want to I want to read six crows and I'm just super awesome to meet her then a next author that I met I go Fest was Marissa Mayer and she signed cinder which is by Marissa Meyer and she wrote to Emma Marissa Mayer and then she also signed winter and she wrote - mmm Ursa Minor but they stamped it with the stamp that says join their resistance and so I had really wished that I would have met her after reading winter cuz I had only read it once I had met her but she was super nice and sweet and like I didn't want to take up too much time because like I could tell she was exhausted and she still had such a long line that I didn't want to take up the time for everyone else but like I told her how much I loved her books because they were the reason that I got into sci-fi and were so amazing and so even though he waited for a ridiculous amount of time it was super worth just have me had like such a great conversation and like I was supposed to take a picture with him but it ended up having to go to a different event so I didn't get a picture but like it was so
