Why Terminator Cobra Ownership Will Change Your Life.
The Experience of Driving a Convertible
When it comes to driving experiences, some cars are more memorable than others. For the author, one such car that stands out is the Cobra. The author recalls a particular drive in a convertible, where they had the top down and were enjoying the wind in their face. The trees passing by overhead added to the scenic beauty of the experience. The author remembers being surprised by how much they enjoyed driving a convertible, particularly when compared to their usual car.
The Author's Love for Convertibles
For the author, convertibles are more than just a fun way to drive. They offer an experience that is unique and enjoyable. When given the chance to drive a convertible, the author encourages others to do so. The author notes that there may be some concerns about reliability or comfort in convertibles, but they argue that it's worth trying them out. The author also touches on the importance of having a well-maintained car, mentioning the need for spare parts and proper maintenance.
The Author's Experience with the Cobra
When the author had the chance to drive a Cobra, they were immediately struck by its raw, visceral nature. The interior was minimalistic, with plastic and creaking components that gave it an age-old feel. However, the author notes that this was part of the car's charm. The Cobra's design was praised for its unique look, particularly in terms of the front bumper and rear deck lid.
The Importance of Design
For the author, good design is essential when it comes to cars. They believe that a well-designed car can make all the difference in the driving experience. When they saw the Cobra's redesign, they were impressed by how much it had improved in terms of looks. The author notes that there are some people who may not appreciate the change in design, but for them, it was a welcome improvement.
The Author's Favorite Color
One aspect of the car that stands out is its color. The author is particularly fond of the midnight purple paint job, which they think adds to the car's unique charm. However, this has led to some criticism from others, who feel that the car should have been left in its original color.
A Discussion with Chris
The author had a chance to discuss their experience with Chris, who shared their enthusiasm for convertibles. They talked about the importance of having a well-maintained car and recommended checking out Circle Engine, who has saved engines from cars and is a great resource for those looking to buy a Cobra.
Conclusion
For the author, driving a convertible is an experience that is hard to beat. Whether it's the raw nature of the car or its unique design, there's something special about cruising around with the top down. The author encourages others to try out a convertible and share their own experiences in the comments section.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enthis is why the o3 Cobra is freaking awesome let er rip tater chip Chris tres what are we in right now we're in a terminator Cobra yeah well what kind of Terminator Cobra it's from a certain Japanese brand across the sea it's kind of its kind of Japanese some Nissan GTR ish but the forbidden one the r34 to give you reference I read this car already so we're doing what we call a rear eerie review whoo it's a 3 Cobra or throw for Cobra 3 cover Oh 3 Cobra but it's a vert and at the same time it was that kind of with a charcoal grey sgds Jade oh there you go he knows all the paint codes because he's a body man at SSR collision make sure to check him out we started you know one night one weekend just pulled it in did all the body work throughout that week and then came back at the end of the week sprayed it came back on a Sunday untaped it's that for a little bit to allow the paint to kind of fully cure and then Wednesday and then buffed it I coated and all that stuff so what a matter is this is the midnight purple purple 3 it is it is not mystic Rome it's not mr. cross with all the comments say it is not Mystic Krewe before we really get into it and paint everything what was that one do you know that one Selene that was built that looks like mr. crow but it wasn't mr. crow so that was called oh my gosh I want to say it was like it was an s2 anyone extreme yeah had a weird front end on it it was around front end I saw it the 50th anniversary and I might include of it I think I'll put it right here if I do but the guy got really mad at me because I call them mr. crow that's how I remember you know people don't like it when you confuse which whatever I mean it's just pain it's not it's not that big of a right a big of a deal it was called extreme rainbow so what inspired you to paint this and I purple what other colors were you considering so I I was really tall stuff between a bunch of colors I had gloss black wheels on it and I put a avery dennison roaring Thunder wrap on it which changed kind of similar to the midnight purple three Rises the blue to purple to red to gold and supply guy and I kind of fell in love with that and I did stray away from it a little bit I wasn't gonna paint at midnight verbal three I just ripped it down and you know part of me did want to go missed a chrome because just like most Mustang owners on I love mr. crome gonna call everybody else exactly exactly I'd like to try and go against the grain as much as possible I don't want to have something that somebody else does I want to try and remain as unique as possible as far as the the r34 this midnight purple three it came on you know already a select version of them and then combine that with I think and I could be completely wrong but they only made a hundred and 60 some-odd there's severe night purple three GTR so I figured okay you know what this is a rare color it's not on a ton of cars I'm sure they've got you know Auto flex out there then yeah it's pretty similar it's pretty close it is in mine you know does get confused for a rapper or all I bet it does come like it looks like it'd be something on a rap exactly but it's then you know it is it's 100% paint it's not it's not a rapper Auto flex or anything like that but it gave me the ability to kind of modify the mixture so in traditional midnight purple three when you're spraying it on you normally do two coats of pearl right you know and all this I ended up just adding up another coat of the pearl itself but to give it more of a flip just a little bit more intense that's before everybody says Adam LCEs yes and r34 with this color is what I give out but that's how beautiful of a color it is it looks amazing but don't get me wrong we're not just read driving this car because it's just the color yeah there's a whole bunch of goodies with this car guess your motor is pretty stout yeah you have a build transmission and it spits massive fireballs out the back ooh I have an end to a Meatwad box allows no lip shifting it's got a two-step built into it describe what your supercharger whine mod does so okay so I'm Sean Foster with foster wine mods great company great guy I contacted him he had a product that a lot of the guys with the s550 is what the Whipple's had right they would hear their superchargers a lot more so basically one an s550 they have the factory sound to pull when you go to a Whipple you you get rid of that right out you or most people do on the Cobras we never had a sound tube from the beginning however when you put long tubes on and combine that with you know up fur you can't really hear can't hear any of it here I don't like it all motor car exactly that's what makes the terminator special exactly blower I bought my car because I wanted to hear the supercharger warm right and basically what it does is you create your own sound to from your intake tube right in front of the blower and you feed it through into the inside of the car with you drill through the firewall or or use an existing rule basically it transports some of that sound inside now it's not just a gaping hole in there right it does have a cap with a really very tight fitting cellophane diaphragm o-ring thankfully with that mod I was able to get all of the wine back that I lost right with the most popular review I've ever done in the Terminator cobra the first one you can hear almost any war annoys it so they just read the Borla attacks one of the biggest things with the Terminator we're talking about this earlier its might have been my number-one nemesis when it comes to quick shifty and that's because it is a Nachi nachi transmission which is great but here's the thing just shift a to rear fast you got to own one shifter goes like this because it's very strange and the clutch is always heavy yeah almost it doesn't matter which clutches in it it's always got a heavy clutch to it it's like they're always at the top very very thank you wouldn't talking about somebody going oh yeah Michael excuse at the top this is like Everest stop another thing is is that kind of all the new edges the Cobra is the only one to hold its value I mean really had it really hasn't be don't get me wrong you up the s 281 so far on them those are kind of rare and I get why those are expensive cuz they record open collector items but the Terminator it's from Julio's manufactured in 2002 and there's still the same price of a new coyote sometimes in most of them I think it's just the bottom ends are so stout to raise a lot of guys just one you know they want a car that they can rely on they can beat the crap out of and not really worry about it now some guys buy these cobras and they want to keep that pristine they never want to drive a really hard I beat the ever-loving crap out of this car I publish every photo I see of you in your Cobra there's tire smoke coming out the back and I still beat the crap out of it because of how strong the bottom end right you know the transmissions are one of the best transmissions you can get ever you know if you get up to a tr6060 but even that's debatable whether the GT 5 under trans because it would go through a 390 wheel all the way up to 5:30 it would just middle area animal I mean you could if you were a new Cobra or especially back in the day a tune a Kohler intake and exhaust some injectors and you know fully and you are a 500 horsepower window with no problem back in the day that was like game change that was you having our this car was nicknamed by a lot of they were the car to beat and this is one of the closest ones to be there door to door with it if you wanted a car that was you could take out drag race every weekend do track events you know yeah there were some preventative mods that you should do with the Cobra you know if you're doing a lot of people know that one Cobra if you're doing wide open throttle yeah you know huh top end of four five and six gear you're gonna melt a hole right through the pecci exactly so hot because that coolant system dead-ended into the the head the driver side head itself the passenger head would allow the coolant to flow into the heater core right if you get a head cooling mud they're really easy to install a bunch aftermarket companies offer them you can cut them you know kind of reduce the chance of that happening right for new and high-end poles and stuff but at the track it was really good drag racing they're really good for not a ton of money you could have a a stout built car that handled great with the IRS they had a ton of power I mean it was the tire melting power yeah they held their value they mean even ones that are beat to crap nowadays thinner you know a hundred thousand miles fifteen sixteen thousand the one area viewed Jordans I think had almost 200,000 and probably scary injustice going over this wall unfortunately member I don't know if you remember there's a video we did right before it yeah where it broke down but then I beat the crap out of it after we fixed it it was all because of a fuel rail pressure sensor so every Cobra owner should carry a spare fuel rail pressure really I carry one in the back of the car an extra belt and I carry an extra idler these have belt fish user good so once you get down to a smaller pulley whip with if you don't have like the the extra idler the extra tensioner to put pressure to wrap wrap that belt around the pulley you do get a little bit of belt slip issue you can rectify that with certain certain brands of pulleys you'll have like grip tech makes a really good I holy for this that it's a it's a serrated style belt and that grabs on to it your belt choice has a lot to do it how tight your belt is really what it boils down to is when you're putting a belt on one of these if it's not absolutely horrible to put your belt on and I ain't in the bud you get it wrong tighten up jitter ah so between those two things you know I mean you can even use those so far as to say good goes so far as to say that comer owner needs to have that back to normal sorry that's a Cobra owner though you know do you do stuff I got to get right back to it so because this is on airlift right yes and you would never know unless you were lifting it up and down it feels completely normal you'll get a lot of people that will say that cars can't handle I get it a full coil over setup will absolutely out handle this car it's more of a tuned suspension setup but if you're looking for the great improvement every time it's like jr. Tamachi but they'll notice that in every Terminator video I've ever done it is just the way it is yeah there is a delay I mean even even shifting fashion there there are some guys that could shift a cobra really really fat oh I give them credit but it takes a lot of practice maybe I'll see I don't drag race a lot my new have more rude horse events but resting on it long road trips too that's my love about it is like when Mustang week was basically canceled last year due to what it was a hurricane yep everybody on forums and pages that hey let's just go to mountains instead in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Tennessee and he made the best of it you throw this all the way there live fit for this car is only seen a trailer twice both of which is one when I blow a spark plug through the cylinder head the second was when I actually blew the motor completely over the only two times this thing has ever been on a trailer you know why cause the motor to blow cobras earlier oh three cobras had four thread heads meaning you know you could only thread it you know I had four threads before it was tight Oh God later renditions I'm in for and then of course in 205 they still made replacement parts for the Cobra Oh five cylinder heads worth nine threadheads right so basically they suffer from plug blowout they'll basically shear the thread oh yeah so basically blows the plug right now I was using an entropy Wambach's you know in their counter cast gear same reason why the the s550 guys in the coyote guys run a bill an oil pump here I either powder powdered cast metal that that back and forth vibration ends up shattering the gear right so what happened was I launched it off the two-step as soon as that valve train went ahead and tightened up it snapped the gear in half these are interference motors so the valve stayed down piston came up and just hitting the mouth god I've been to of the mouse had to tear everything down put nine thread heads on it we replace the oil pump gear so the boundary oil pump gears because I was already in there right for deluminator timing chain set Cole Han I mean you replace everything while you're in there the ninth red heads bronze valve guides you know five angle valve jump pretty much everything you want to do to rebuild it and then build it up from there and at that point I didn't want to put stock manifolds on it so again went with a long to mess you're already pre tuning for everything so you might as well just go back to the tuner you know with everything get it done in one shot you know and that that's exactly what we did we lost when we went to headers we actually lost about two psi of boost yeah but we picked up more low end power so it ended up throughout the guitar exactly it was better a better driving car exactly it's crazy just how different of a car the Terminator drove like compared to the two valve and also the MA my phone is a little bit warmer but it don't at the live axle it still had the same chassis really like the Terminator was such an upgrade that what blows my mind is that a GT could run you this like 2001 money light of $28,000 I got the window sticker from mine and it was 38 nine for the the convertible was about a four or five gallon or money for the bird yeah and now Cobra are more expensive they are a lot of people don't want the bird they don't want that in heavier they don't want the stigma of having a bird me personally I don't understand why to me there's nothing like a nice cool drive through the city or out in the open country with the top down in the there is be cliche with the stars that is there yes I've own tune birds excuse me my mood to convertibles and honestly I'm so glad I did yeah because it was a good experience and honestly when you're by yourself that's when it really shines right because if you have people piled in the car and wells get in the face of the wind I mean you know what it was a great great experience because there's something going to a mountain and having your top down you know like it's awesome yeah the trees passing overhead and I remember the first time I drove a hardtop Mustang I was like this feels weird it was a kind of weird for me now I'm in love with the hard toss you guys that's what I know now but but yeah it's just so it's such an interesting stigma like you know you get this I'm sure you get this all the time two guys and a ball it's really interesting but honestly it's always a good experience if you ever get the chance to drive a convertible anything like just give it a chance like give it a whirl is it as stiff of a chassis as a sari kukuku no I get it when the soft top is up there people don't like them as much but some cars when they're like bagged and lower than it's a verb and they look good like laters car leaves great a lot of people were like wow that thing's sweet a really unique bird is less I don't want to say eye catching but it you don't get the normal all it's a vert right there's so much other stuff to concentrate on this side yeah I'd like the paint job in your wheels and you hook the matching seatbelts like everyone the effort was put in it's not just another middle-aged old man you got a red Corvette with a tan interior exactly c5 Corvette that's an auto birdie there you go get your team shorts out near New Balances this video has been great for anybody looking to buy a Cobra because you warned them about everything pretty much I mean there's there's some small little things you know Congress have alternator issues J - fabrication makes a phenomenal phenomenal alternator that you know holds up to the abuse carrying spare parts a spare I said I know that seems like a hassle for a lot of people have to carry some spare parts but if you think about it it's just preventative now luckily knock on wood I've never had to use those on this you know knuckle glass but you know I don't want to be caught off guard I've stretched no boy there's no point to be caught off guard when it's an amenable there we go much better it's hot and the gearing is long oh yo by the time you looked at me I guess I got a let off now yeah well on that note Chris is there anything else you'd like to add for anybody looking to try out a Cobra I mean I think that's what this video is going to turn into in a way I mean kind of it's if you're on the fence about getting a Cobra versus you know a gt500 an s550 those are those are pretty good comparable and all motor s550 and in the gt500 Cobra they're all kinda in the same same arena right uh speak Cobra is more of a visceral experience it's very raw there's not a ton of creature comforts the interiors plastic in the interior is literally the say it is it as the tuning it rattles it creaks it groans it's 20 years old it really is and it shows its age when you sit inside it but you know what the Cobra in particular terminators look I don't know what like the minimal changes they did with that deck lid on the back and the front bumper like they just knocked it out of the park of this thing with looks it made a lot more sense yeah and honestly I wish all of them looked like this yeah on that note thanks so much Chris I appreciate it absolutely go check out a circle engine he saved from a car he's a great dude and hopefully you get more videos with Chris pretty soon and yeah what do you guys think of the midnight purple especially I think that's the number one thing we should talk about the comments section because I think guru be like Brougham how dare you steal this car from a Ledge or it sorry this paint from a legend that's all done with the argument is then my you get a lot of people that think you shouldn't put another color on whatever well sorry for putting forward grabber blue on Smurf all right sorry I might add one is different yes yeah but he's colder than American pigs actly alright guys thank you guys so much for watching I upload every Tuesday Thursday and Saturday and I will see you guys next time good bye this video is brought to you by Paterson car care get double of premium original detail product for half the price head over to Paris and love about it is like when Mustang week was basically canceled last year due to what it was a hurricane yep everybody on forums and pages that hey let's just go to mountains instead in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Tennessee and he made the best of it you throw this all the way there live fit for this car is only seen a trailer twice both of which is one when I blow a spark plug through the cylinder for the Cobra Oh five cylinder heads worth nine threadheads right so basically they suffer from plug blowout they'll basically shear the thread oh yeah so basically blows the plug right now I was using an entropy Wambach's you know in their counter cast gear same reason why the the s550 guys in the coyote guys run a bill an oil pump here I either powder powdered cast metal that that back and forth vibration ends up shattering the gear right so what happened was I launched it off the two-step as soon as that valve train went ahead and tightened up it snapped the gear in half these are interference motors so the valve stayed down piston came up and just hitting the mouth god I've been to of the mouse had to tear everything down put nine thread heads on it we replace the oil pump gear so the boundary oil pump gears because I was already in there right for deluminator timing chain set Cole Han I mean you replace everything while you're in there the ninth red heads bronze valve guides you know five angle valve jump pretty much everything you want to do to rebuild it and then build it up from there and at that point I didn't want to put stock manifolds on it so again went with a long to mess you're already pre tuning for everything so you might as well just go back to the tuner you know with everything get it done in one shot you know and that that's exactly what we did we lost when we went to headers we actually lost about two psi of boost yeah but we picked up more low end power so it ended up throughout the guitar exactly it was better a better driving car exactly it's crazy just how different of a car the Terminator drove like compared to the two valve and also the MA my phone is a little bit warmer but it don't at the live axle it still had the same chassis really like the Terminator was such an upgrade that what blows my mind is that a GT could run you this like 2001 money light of $28,000 I got the window sticker from mine and it was 38 nine for the the convertible was about a four or five gallon or money for the bird yeah and now Cobra are more expensive they are a lot of people don't want the bird they don't want that in heavier they don't want the stigma of having a bird me personally I don't understand why to me there's nothing like a nice cool drive through the city or out in the open country with the top down in the there is be cliche with the stars that is there yes I've own tune birds excuse me my mood to convertibles and honestly I'm so glad I did yeah because it was a good experience and honestly when you're by yourself that's when it really shines right because if you have people piled in the car and wells get in the face of the wind I mean you know what it was a great great experience because there's something going to a mountain and having your top down you know like it's awesome yeah the trees passing overhead and I remember the first time I drove a hardtop Mustang I was like this feels weird it was a kind of weird for me now I'm in love with the hard toss you guys that's what I know now but but yeah it's just so it's such an interesting stigma like you know you get this I'm sure you get this all the time two guys and a ball it's really interesting but honestly it's always a good experience if you ever get the chance to drive a convertible anything like just give it a chance like give it a whirl is it as stiff of a chassis as a sari kukuku no I get it when the soft top is up there people don't like them as much but some cars when they're like bagged and lower than it's a verb and they look good like laters car leaves great a lot of people were like wow that thing's sweet a really unique bird is less I don't want to say eye catching but it you don't get the normal all it's a vert right there's so much other stuff to concentrate on this side yeah I'd like the paint job in your wheels and you hook the matching seatbelts like everyone the effort was put in it's not just another middle-aged old man you got a red Corvette with a tan interior exactly c5 Corvette that's an auto birdie there you go get your team shorts out near New Balances this video has been great for anybody looking to buy a Cobra because you warned them about everything pretty much I mean there's there's some small little things you know Congress have alternator issues J - fabrication makes a phenomenal phenomenal alternator that you know holds up to the abuse carrying spare parts a spare I said I know that seems like a hassle for a lot of people have to carry some spare parts but if you think about it it's just preventative now luckily knock on wood I've never had to use those on this you know knuckle glass but you know I don't want to be caught off guard I've stretched no boy there's no point to be caught off guard when it's an amenable there we go much better it's hot and the gearing is long oh yo by the time you looked at me I guess I got a let off now yeah well on that note Chris is there anything else you'd like to add for anybody looking to try out a Cobra I mean I think that's what this video is going to turn into in a way I mean kind of it's if you're on the fence about getting a Cobra versus you know a gt500 an s550 those are those are pretty good comparable and all motor s550 and in the gt500 Cobra they're all kinda in the same same arena right uh speak Cobra is more of a visceral experience it's very raw there's not a ton of creature comforts the interiors plastic in the interior is literally the say it is it as the tuning it rattles it creaks it groans it's 20 years old it really is and it shows its age when you sit inside it but you know what the Cobra in particular terminators look I don't know what like the minimal changes they did with that deck lid on the back and the front bumper like they just knocked it out of the park of this thing with looks it made a lot more sense yeah and honestly I wish all of them looked like this yeah on that note thanks so much Chris I appreciate it absolutely go check out a circle engine he saved from a car he's a great dude and hopefully you get more videos with Chris pretty soon and yeah what do you guys think of the midnight purple especially I think that's the number one thing we should talk about the comments section because I think guru be like Brougham how dare you steal this car from a Ledge or it sorry this paint from a legend that's all done with the argument is then my you get a lot of people that think you shouldn't put another color on whatever well sorry for putting forward grabber blue on Smurf all right sorry I might add one is different yes yeah but he's colder than American pigs actly alright guys thank you guys so much for watching I upload every Tuesday Thursday and Saturday and I will see you guys next time good bye this video is brought to you by Paterson car care get double of premium original detail product for half the price head over to Paris and cartier.com or go to the link in the description belowthis is why the o3 Cobra is freaking awesome let er rip tater chip Chris tres what are we in right now we're in a terminator Cobra yeah well what kind of Terminator Cobra it's from a certain Japanese brand across the sea it's kind of its kind of Japanese some Nissan GTR ish but the forbidden one the r34 to give you reference I read this car already so we're doing what we call a rear eerie review whoo it's a 3 Cobra or throw for Cobra 3 cover Oh 3 Cobra but it's a vert and at the same time it was that kind of with a charcoal grey sgds Jade oh there you go he knows all the paint codes because he's a body man at SSR collision make sure to check him out we started you know one night one weekend just pulled it in did all the body work throughout that week and then came back at the end of the week sprayed it came back on a Sunday untaped it's that for a little bit to allow the paint to kind of fully cure and then Wednesday and then buffed it I coated and all that stuff so what a matter is this is the midnight purple purple 3 it is it is not mystic Rome it's not mr. cross with all the comments say it is not Mystic Krewe before we really get into it and paint everything what was that one do you know that one Selene that was built that looks like mr. crow but it wasn't mr. crow so that was called oh my gosh I want to say it was like it was an s2 anyone extreme yeah had a weird front end on it it was around front end I saw it the 50th anniversary and I might include of it I think I'll put it right here if I do but the guy got really mad at me because I call them mr. crow that's how I remember you know people don't like it when you confuse which whatever I mean it's just pain it's not it's not that big of a right a big of a deal it was called extreme rainbow so what inspired you to paint this and I purple what other colors were you considering so I I was really tall stuff between a bunch of colors I had gloss black wheels on it and I put a avery dennison roaring Thunder wrap on it which changed kind of similar to the midnight purple three Rises the blue to purple to red to gold and supply guy and I kind of fell in love with that and I did stray away from it a little bit I wasn't gonna paint at midnight verbal three I just ripped it down and you know part of me did want to go missed a chrome because just like most Mustang owners on I love mr. crome gonna call everybody else exactly exactly I'd like to try and go against the grain as much as possible I don't want to have something that somebody else does I want to try and remain as unique as possible as far as the the r34 this midnight purple three it came on you know already a select version of them and then combine that with I think and I could be completely wrong but they only made a hundred and 60 some-odd there's severe night purple three GTR so I figured okay you know what this is a rare color it's not on a ton of cars I'm sure they've got you know Auto flex out there then yeah it's pretty similar it's pretty close it is in mine you know does get confused for a rapper or all I bet it does come like it looks like it'd be something on a rap exactly but it's then you know it is it's 100% paint it's not it's not a rapper Auto flex or anything like that but it gave me the ability to kind of modify the mixture so in traditional midnight purple three when you're spraying it on you normally do two coats of pearl right you know and all this I ended up just adding up another coat of the pearl itself but to give it more of a flip just a little bit more intense that's before everybody says Adam LCEs yes and r34 with this color is what I give out but that's how beautiful of a color it is it looks amazing but don't get me wrong we're not just read driving this car because it's just the color yeah there's a whole bunch of goodies with this car guess your motor is pretty stout yeah you have a build transmission and it spits massive fireballs out the back ooh I have an end to a Meatwad box allows no lip shifting it's got a two-step built into it describe what your supercharger whine mod does so okay so I'm Sean Foster with foster wine mods great company great guy I contacted him he had a product that a lot of the guys with the s550 is what the Whipple's had right they would hear their superchargers a lot more so basically one an s550 they have the factory sound to pull when you go to a Whipple you you get rid of that right out you or most people do on the Cobras we never had a sound tube from the beginning however when you put long tubes on and combine that with you know up fur you can't really hear can't hear any of it here I don't like it all motor car exactly that's what makes the terminator special exactly blower I bought my car because I wanted to hear the supercharger warm right and basically what it does is you create your own sound to from your intake tube right in front of the blower and you feed it through into the inside of the car with you drill through the firewall or or use an existing rule basically it transports some of that sound inside now it's not just a gaping hole in there right it does have a cap with a really very tight fitting cellophane diaphragm o-ring thankfully with that mod I was able to get all of the wine back that I lost right with the most popular review I've ever done in the Terminator cobra the first one you can hear almost any war annoys it so they just read the Borla attacks one of the biggest things with the Terminator we're talking about this earlier its might have been my number-one nemesis when it comes to quick shifty and that's because it is a Nachi nachi transmission which is great but here's the thing just shift a to rear fast you got to own one shifter goes like this because it's very strange and the clutch is always heavy yeah almost it doesn't matter which clutches in it it's always got a heavy clutch to it it's like they're always at the top very very thank you wouldn't talking about somebody going oh yeah Michael excuse at the top this is like Everest stop another thing is is that kind of all the new edges the Cobra is the only one to hold its value I mean really had it really hasn't be don't get me wrong you up the s 281 so far on them those are kind of rare and I get why those are expensive cuz they record open collector items but the Terminator it's from Julio's manufactured in 2002 and there's still the same price of a new coyote sometimes in most of them I think it's just the bottom ends are so stout to raise a lot of guys just one you know they want a car that they can rely on they can beat the crap out of and not really worry about it now some guys buy these cobras and they want to keep that pristine they never want to drive a really hard I beat the ever-loving crap out of this car I publish every photo I see of you in your Cobra there's tire smoke coming out the back and I still beat the crap out of it because of how strong the bottom end right you know the transmissions are one of the best transmissions you can get ever you know if you get up to a tr6060 but even that's debatable whether the GT 5 under trans was better than the terminator in the end you can go on about it all day long and also the thing about the term where there was especially for its time to gain so much power through minor mods yeah because it would go through a 390 wheel all the way up to 5:30 it would just middle area animal I mean you could if you were a new Cobra or especially back in the day a tune a Kohler intake and exhaust some injectors and you know fully and you are a 500 horsepower window with no problem back in the day that was like game change that was you having our this car was nicknamed by a lot of people as the American Supra that same something cuz the superest Domini the streets forever they still got to do but not compared to the GTRs the Lambos and everything of course the back of it and they were the car to beat and this is one of the closest ones to be there door to door with it if you wanted a car that was you could take out drag race every weekend do track events you know yeah there were some preventative mods that you should do with the Cobra you know if you're doing a lot of people know that one Cobra if you're doing wide open throttle yeah you know huh top end of four five and six gear you're gonna melt a hole right through the pecci exactly so hot because that coolant system dead-ended into the the head the driver side head itself the passenger head would allow the coolant to flow into the heater core right if you get a head cooling mud they're really easy to install a bunch aftermarket companies offer them you can cut them you know kind of reduce the chance of that happening right for new and high-end poles and stuff but at the track it was really good drag racing they're really good for not a ton of money you could have a a stout built car that handled great with the IRS they had a ton of power I mean it was the tire melting power yeah they held their value they mean even ones that are beat to crap nowadays thinner you know a hundred thousand miles fifteen sixteen thousand the one area viewed Jordans I think had almost 200,000 and probably scary injustice going over this wall unfortunately member I don't know if you remember there's a video we did right before it yeah where it broke down but then I beat the crap out of it after we fixed it it was all because of a fuel rail pressure sensor so every Cobra owner should carry a spare fuel rail pressure really I carry one in the back of the car an extra belt and I carry an extra idler these have belt fish user good so once you get down to a smaller pulley whip with if you don't have like the the extra idler the extra tensioner to put pressure to wrap wrap that belt around the pulley you do get a little bit of belt slip issue you can rectify that with certain certain brands of pulleys you'll have like grip tech makes a really good I holy for this that it's a it's a serrated style belt and that grabs on to it your belt choice has a lot to do it how tight your belt is really what it boils down to is when you're putting a belt on one of these if it's not absolutely horrible to put your belt on and I ain't in the bud you get it wrong tighten up jitter ah so between those two things you know I mean you can even use those so far as to say good goes so far as to say that comer owner needs to have that back to normal sorry that's a Cobra owner though you know do you do stuff I got to get right back to it so because this is on airlift right yes and you would never know unless you were lifting it up and down it feels completely normal you'll get a lot of people that will say that cars can't handle I get it a full coil over setup will absolutely out handle this car it's more of a tuned suspension setup but if you're looking for the great improvement every time it's like jr. Tamachi but they'll notice that in every Terminator video I've ever done it is just the way it is yeah there is a delay I mean even even shifting fashion there there are some guys that could shift a cobra really really fat oh I give them credit but it takes a lot of practice maybe I'll see I don't drag race a lot my new have more rude horse events but resting on it long road trips too that's my love about it is like when Mustang week was basically canceled last year due to what it was a hurricane yep everybody on forums and pages that hey let's just go to mountains instead in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge Tennessee and he made the best of it you throw this all the way there live fit for this car is only seen a trailer twice both of which is one when I blow a spark plug through the cylinder head the second was when I actually blew the motor completely over the only two times this thing has ever been on a trailer you know why cause the motor to blow cobras earlier oh three cobras had four thread heads meaning you know you could only thread it you know I had four threads before it was tight Oh God later renditions I'm in for and then of course in 205 they still made replacement parts for the Cobra Oh five cylinder heads worth nine threadheads right so basically they suffer from plug blowout they'll basically shear the thread oh yeah so basically blows the plug right now I was using an entropy Wambach's you know in their counter cast gear same reason why the the s550 guys in the coyote guys run a bill an oil pump here I either powder powdered cast metal that that back and forth vibration ends up shattering the gear right so what happened was I launched it off the two-step as soon as that valve train went ahead and tightened up it snapped the gear in half these are interference motors so the valve stayed down piston came up and just hitting the mouth god I've been to of the mouse had to tear everything down put nine thread heads on it we replace the oil pump gear so the boundary oil pump gears because I was already in there right for deluminator timing chain set Cole Han I mean you replace everything while you're in there the ninth red heads bronze valve guides you know five angle valve jump pretty much everything you want to do to rebuild it and then build it up from there and at that point I didn't want to put stock manifolds on it so again went with a long to mess you're already pre tuning for everything so you might as well just go back to the tuner you know with everything get it done in one shot you know and that that's exactly what we did we lost when we went to headers we actually lost about two psi of boost yeah but we picked up more low end power so it ended up throughout the guitar exactly it was better a better driving car exactly it's crazy just how different of a car the Terminator drove like compared to the two valve and also the MA my phone is a little bit warmer but it don't at the live axle it still had the same for the the convertible was about a four or five gallon or money for the bird yeah and now Cobra are more expensive they are a lot of people don't want the bird they don't want that in heavier they don't want the stigma of having a bird me personally I don't understand why to me there's nothing like a nice cool drive through the city or out in the open country with the top down in the there is be cliche with the stars that is there yes I've own tune birds excuse me my mood to convertibles and honestly I'm so glad I did yeah because it was a good experience and honestly when you're by yourself that's when it really shines right because if you have people piled in the car and wells get in the face of the wind I mean you know what it was a great great experience because there's something going to a mountain and having your top down you know like it's awesome yeah the trees passing overhead and I remember the first time I drove a hardtop Mustang I was like this feels weird it was a kind of weird for me now I'm in love with the hard toss you guys that's what I know now but but yeah it's just so it's such an interesting stigma like you know you get this I'm sure you get this all the time two guys and a ball it's really interesting but honestly it's always a good experience if you ever get the chance to drive a convertible anything like just give it a chance like give it a whirl is it as stiff of a chassis as a sari kukuku no I get it when the soft top is up there people don't like them as much but some cars when they're like bagged and lower than it's a verb and they look good like laters car leaves great a lot of people were like wow that thing's sweet a really unique bird is less I don't want to say eye catching but it you don't get the normal all it's a vert right there's so much other stuff to concentrate on this side yeah I'd like the paint job in your wheels and you hook the matching seatbelts like everyone the effort was put in it's not just another middle-aged old man you got a red Corvette with a tan interior exactly c5 Corvette that's an auto birdie there you go get your team shorts out near New Balances this video has been great for anybody looking to buy a Cobra because you warned them about everything pretty much I mean there's there's some small little things you know Congress have alternator issues J - fabrication makes a phenomenal phenomenal alternator that you know holds up to the abuse carrying spare parts a spare I said I know that seems like a hassle for a lot of people have to carry some spare parts but if you think about it it's just preventative now luckily knock on wood I've never had to use those on this you know knuckle glass but you know I don't want to be caught off guard I've stretched no boy there's no point to be caught off guard when it's an amenable there we go much better it's hot and the gearing is long oh yo by the time you looked at me I guess I got a let off now yeah well on that note Chris is
