TISTHESEASONATHON READING VLOG!

I'm currently reading another novella as part of my read-a-thon. Right now, I'm reading Forever Wild by K.A. Tucker, which is the third book in her The Simple Wild series. I've already read the first two books in the series, and this one is like a comprehensive book that wraps up Jonah and Calla's story. It takes place in Alaska, where they fall in love, and it's set during Christmas. This one is only 100 pages long, so I'm looking forward to reading it and updating you on my thoughts.

I also got some exciting news - I received some book mail yesterday! The first book I got was from Sourcebooks, and that's The Castle School for Troubled Girls by Alyssa Chalkin. I love the cover of this book, and I don't know much about it yet. It's described as a dark, psychological contemporary novel about a grieving teen who is sent to a mysterious boarding school where nothing is quite what it seems. I'm intrigued already, especially since I love mystery books set in boarding schools.

I also got another book from Alkrie, and that's How the King of Alpha Learns to Hate by [Author's Name]. This one is special because it tells a story that was previously only told from Cardin's perspective. The title suggests that this book includes pivotal moments from The Queen of Nothing and familiar but important events from the Folk of Air trilogy. I'm excited to read this, especially since I'm a huge fan of Cardin. I love seeing glimpses of him in other characters' stories, and this one seems like it will be really good.

As for my reading plans, they're all over the place right now. Usually, I'm very structured and set, but somehow that's just fallen by the wayside. I'm trying to focus on finishing the next book I have planned, which is Forever Wild by K.A. Tucker. Once I finish that, I'll update you on my thoughts.

I've finished reading Forever Wild by K.A. Tucker, which was a novella that took up 100 pages of my time. I liked it - I would give it three out of five stars. It's hard to judge this one because I didn't know much about it going in, but I can say that Calla is the main character, and she's struggling with some tough stuff after her dad gets sick. She meets a pilot named Jonah, who is initially surly and unapproachable, but they eventually fall in love. The book is set during Christmas, which added to its festive atmosphere.

As I finished reading Forever Wild, I realized that it sets up the next book in the series from Calla's perspective, which I'm really excited about. I've heard great things about this one, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it compares to the rest of the series.

Overall, my read-a-thon was a success - despite some challenges along the way. I managed to read three full-length novels and three novellas in total, which is not bad considering how busy I've been lately. My favorite book of the whole read-a-thon has got to be Our Group Read and the Holidays by Christina Warren. This one is like a perfect Christmas story - it's romantic, festive, and just really enjoyable.

Another favorite of mine was Wrapped Up in You by Talia Albert. This novella was perfection - I want a full-length novel of this book! It's hard to say what made it so good, but every aspect of the story felt well-written and engaging. If you're looking for a holiday romance that will make your heart feel all warm and fuzzy inside, then Wrapped Up in You is definitely the one for you.

I'm glad I participated in this read-a-thon, despite some challenges along the way. It was great to connect with other readers online and see what everyone else was reading during the same time. If you participated in this year's read-a-thon, I hope you had a good time - even if it was low-key and chill. And if not, don't worry - there will be next year!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone and welcome to my tizzy seasonathon reading vlog tis the season to be jolly fala i thought that i would film this intro right in front of my christmas tree which is brand new this year we've always had like a really kind of dare i say crappy tree and this is like the first year we actually have like a nice tree i mean it's we've been married for 12 years i think it's time so i was like i have to film in front of it so this is gonna be an introduction clip of what i'm reading this week so if you don't know i have a tbr video for all the books i'm running but quickly i will go through them the book i just started with right now um i don't know where the dust jacket is i'll put a picture of it right here i'll find the dust jacket eventually but it is this time next year by sophie cousins i'm already on page like 60 really enjoying it so far and then the other books i plan to read this week are our group read in a holidays by christina lauren the 12 dates of christmas by jenny bayless queen move by kennedy ryan and two really short novellas one is called book for christmas by sandy menon and the other one is wrapped up in you by talia hibbert so if you count all that that's four length novels and two novellas that's a lot for me i don't know if i'll accomplish or not but i'm gonna try i think i can if i really like put myself on a schedule which sounds daunting and hard but kind of thrive on that so that's what i'm gonna do so like i said i've already started um this time next year and i plan to finish this tomorrow yeah i'm only on 60 pages and it's like 330. so i think if i read it a lot today tonight i will finish it tomorrow and then i can start on my next book so yeah that's my intro so um i'm trying to do both the all the challenges and the bingo board will i get bingo i don't know but i'm gonna try to make this vlog as christmassy as possible you know bake some cookies we've already done um our i was gonna film like a decoration with christmas but somehow i just get really stressed out with decorating with christmas because it's just so much and i'm just like i can't even film it i don't know if i'm the only one that feels that way but i will share with you all of the decor we have everything set up and everything like that i'll do like a nice little montage for you i'll do a nice little b-roll montage for you that i filmed last night and i hope you enjoyed it because i was just sitting here and i was like this is so cozy and i love christmas time just for that so yeah here's hoping that this week goes well reading wise and personal wise i'll try to update you every day about what i'm reading and christmasy things and just honestly life in general because i try to keep it as real as possible so yeah that's it for today and i'll see you guys soon tomorrow who knows what these vlogs time will tell as i famously literally famously always say foreign hmm 10 a.m santa's coming to town oh my god santa here i know him i know him hello everyone happy wednesday i didn't vlog yesterday i apologize for that yesterday was just it was a bad day schooling is just it's really hard with my son right now that's all i'll go into it because i don't want to go into it anymore it's just it's really hard right now but enough about that reading update so i have actually finished a lot of things surprisingly i have finished a full book and both the novellas i wanted to read so i'm proud about that um so the book i finished that i told you guys about was this um time next year by sylvie cousins still debating whether to give this a three and a half or a four star overall i really enjoyed it but i just was left feeling kind of underwhelmed about it if that makes any sense so in this book we have a character named minnie and the whole plot kind of focuses on you know with minnie's mom like giving birth to minnie and it's like new year's eve and there's this cash prize for like the first 50 babies that are born and she gets paired in this room with another woman also giving birth and you know um minnie's mom coat like helps the other woman like kind of go through birth and was like her birthing coach and they talk and minnie's mom's like you know i'm naming my daughter quinn because quinn's are always winners and she just wants that and so basically long story short the other woman steals the name and names her son quinn and minnie's left named minnie so it follows many years later as minnie is now 30 and she's struggling a lot with her life both in love she kind of has a lackluster relationship she has a business called no hard fillings which is like a pie business like feelings get it um and that's also struggling and somehow through a random term events she actually meets quinn the guy who pretty much stole her name and she blames for a lot of stuff like minnie's birthday new year's eve is always a catastrophe of bad events like she feels like it's cursed it's a big jinx for her so you know her and quinn have all these chance encounters they're very very different and maybe a relationship happens from there so this book kind of like portrayed itself as like that how many chances to meet your perfect match and i thought they would just keep running into each other like in the present but it also goes back into many other of like their birthdays like of how they also had chance encounters but didn't know it was one another like way back when they were like 12 and then like when they were like 14 and i like that but i was like i feel like that was kind of misleading i thought it was gonna be chance counters encounters now so i didn't love that um minnie was a character i did really enjoy she struggled a lot she was very very hard on herself and didn't value herself and that frustrated me yet i really resonated with that because i am also the same way with myself like i'm down on myself a lot like i shouldn't be but that's just how some people are and that's how i am so i connected with her a ton and her and quinn they had this connection but also i didn't love it that makes any sense like they're very different they also talked a lot about mental health because quinn's mother has very severe anxiety she's also agoraphobic if that's the correct terminology i hope where she cannot leave the house a lot of things have happened to her and quinn's always been the one to champion her and so because of that he's always at his mother's back and call and his relationships suffer and so him and minnie you know have this tumultuous thing going on it's all about their relationship so is this a christmasy book um it's always like it starts around new year's eve it takes place during the whole year but also really flashes back to new to new year's eve so i guess you could argue argue technically it is a christmas book but i enjoyed it i just didn't love it love it like i wanted more from it it gave me one day in december vibes which i love that book but this one just left me wanting a little bit something more i wanted more of the actual relationship with minnie and quinn and i find often times especially in romance books um or chiclet books i shall say that you get like their happy ending like right when they're about to get together and i want to see more of that like i want to see them actually be together like i want to know more exactly about it so i think i'm still debating on three and a half or four i enjoyed it i flew through it i was oftentimes thinking about the characters i loved the way that they portrayed both of their lives and how realistic they were with many struggling financially and also with her family and stuff like that so overall i did like it and i would recommend it i just didn't love it as much as i thought i was gonna love it so there's that one so the two novellas i finished for the first one was booked for christmas by sandy menon this romance that was like a hundred pages it's about a character named sophie who is a romance author and basically she's hosting like this christmas party at her like cabin that's kind of out in the woods snowy um and her book this book critic arrives to this party and it's like her rival this book critic named wolf who always writes really scathing reviews about her romance author or her romance books and the return of events they he gets stuck there and they spend a couple days together and you can guess what happens from there overall i gave this one a three i definitely felt like it could have been flashed out more these novellas are so hard to like really review because it's only 100 pages you're not getting the full picture as much as the author wants to try to sometimes it's really hard um this one i really feel like it would have benefited for being a full-length novel like i would have read it i loved the banter they had they hate to love it happened like that because of the novella like it just came out of nowhere so i would love to see it be a full-leave novel to develop it more i would have really enjoyed it but it was christmasy vibes snowy cabin hate to love so i did enjoy it it's a quick fun christmasy read so i liked it um and then the other novella i read was wrapped up in you by talia heavert i gave this a 4 out of 5. i would also really love to see this as a full-length novel but for this one i will say i got the complete picture with this one again it's around like 100 pages and in this book we found a character named abby i think that's her name abby yes and she has a twin brother and she's been in love with her twin brother's best friend for like ever he's like this famous actor i want to say his name is evan please forgive me and basically they another cabin type of book they get together with a family and this year like evan is gonna tell abby that he loves her like he's he wants to court her he wants to be with her and it's kind of just about that and it is the perfection of a friends to lovers romance of just them spilling their feelings out with a little bit of steamy times but also just oh it was so beautiful i loved it so much like i like friends to lovers but this book made me love friends to lovers this little short story i enjoyed it immensely would love a full-length novel for it for sure talia ever never disappoints me so i'm not surprised i really loved it so those are the three things i read feeling good about it i'm not gonna lie to you i am pushing myself a little bit because again that's who i am i'm gonna try to like just calm down though because my anxiety and stress levels are preposterous right now so the next book i'm moving on to is our group read actually and that is in a holidays by christina lauren i've heard mixed things about it from you guys a lot of you guys have loved it and a lot of you guys have just found it kind of in the middle so i'm feeling i will probably feel similar in that regard so yeah this one's like a groundhog day holiday one there you go so hopefully i'll like it time will tell as i always say so in other news i want to share with you our epic calendars that we do so this is what i got him i get him one like this every year it's just like chocolate every day he really enjoys opening up and then my best friend surprised me with this big old box that has like 24 um different gifts in here for noah like she did this for me my other best friend all of her nieces and nephews and she's just awesome i would i can't show him this otherwise he will open them all up right now so i have to pull them out so today's december 2nd so this is day two i just thought that's so sweet i love her so much if you're watching i love you pretty dearly but this is just like oh look she even put this in there time to count the days one of christmas start at one and have fun love aunt b she's just uh i love her so much so i can't he's having fun already open this up i'm really excited to see what's in here and what he thinks of it no you guys look for number two so there's one and then where's two at where's two two there it is got it help there you go let's get it out who is it it's minnie oh look oh some coloring books santa say thank you aunty and other exciting news i have my copy of the sky beyond the storm this is the fourth and final book in the ember in the ashes series by saba tahir which is it might be my favorite why fantasy series of all time um i just love it it's a and i don't need a lot of fly fantasy anymore i just don't i don't know why but i've read this one since the beginning and um i really like the first tubes a third one i just loved a ton so i'm very excited for this one it's gonna probably make me cry a ton i will be so so so upset if saba does my girl helene wrong i love helene so much she's been through a lot she's probably gonna be a lot probably gonna go through a lot in this book probably gonna cry but it's like a y fantasy very like kind of roman empire hard-hitting just a lot um but i'm very excited to read it i am gonna read this month not for this readathon because no it's not very christmasy but and you know it's very dark but i am so excited to have a copy of this um yeah i just thought i'd share that because this is like one of my most anticipated releases of the entire year and here we are at the end of the year um this hopefully will like i've already started constructing my like favorites of the year list and i'm hoping this way i'm hoping this one's like gets its way into it because i really want it to so yeah there's not really a lot of update right now i just wanted to share that i bought that book today because i'm very excited to have it also another book mail news um i got a copy of the good girls by claire elizabeth barnett um this is from harper teen i love the cover of this i think it's like a why a mystery a small town murder um and the center of it all are good girls go ahead look them in the eyes ask them why they did it i don't know secrets lies and then somebody dies sounds interesting um will i try to read it this month i don't know who else tries to cram in all the books before the end of the year just me all right as part of one of the bingo challenges is to make a christmas treat i think so we're gonna bake sugar cookies will it be good look great but these are the best i've ever done sugar cookies so take what's that what you will how they will end up we'll see you're wondering why don't i open up my own bakery this is why was this done by a six-year-old no this was done by a 32 year old woman i don't bake a discount bakery let's see yours i would buy that at a discount about now 25 cent bakery matt and heather's bakery where they throw up i promise that it's different days i just keep filming in front of this because who doesn't want to look a beautiful christmas tree i don't want to so i have actually been really good about reading um so i actually literally like an hour ago i finished in the holidays by christina lauren i flew through this way faster than i thought it was going to but i'm not surprised because it's a christina lauren book and i read those very quickly so if you don't know they're an author duo this is like their first holiday book and i have to say i really enjoyed it i gave it a 4 out of 5. it was cute it was romantic it was christmasy it made me swoon so i really enjoyed it so in this book we have a character named may who loves the holidays her family and like her other kind of like found family like her parents college roommates and their sons like you know it's kind of like her parents and their friends and their friends kids and things like that always spend like a week at this cabin that they own um every christmas and so this one christmas doesn't really go that great and as she's leaving the cabin she like throws away a shot in the universe like show what will make me happy and next thing you know she wakes up on the plane to the cabin to start this day all over again so what we have is pretty much a groundhog day um kind of um thing where she just keeps messing up and waking up going back to the plane the whole kind of center around this centers around this guy named andrew who's been in her life like ever since she was a child they literally grew up together he's um like four or five years older than him she's had a crush on him forever and you know i think she's just like i think i'm just going to tell him that i have been in love with him forever so obviously you can guess it's like a friends to lovers thing with a little bit of like a time travel element involved into it and i it was really cute i love the romance a french delivers romance it's just so sweet and i really i really did like the chemistry between them and overall like i said i gave it a four out of five i don't think like it's like you're gonna get insanely much out of it but if you just want something christmassy romantic has some family elements into it with a little bit of like a time travel aspect i would recommend in the holidays i really liked it so four out of five now i'm gonna move i'm saving like my last book for like my not holiday one that's queen move by kennedy ryan so that's gonna be my last book for this readathon i think i just want to get i don't want to say i want to get all the christmas ones out of the way because i want to film my holidays like recommendations soon so i'm trying to read all the christmas ones i can't sign a ring is the 12 days of christmas by jenny bayless it's about a girl that goes on 12 dates and i think this is also probably a friends to lovers romance time will tell but we'll see this one i've seen iffy reviews about so my plan hopefully is to finish this by saturday at the latest and hopefully i can speed on through queen move by kenny ryan and then i'll complete in my tbr which feels amazing so yeah that's my plan i'm feeling a lot better today mood shift especially for women if you get what i mean so yeah that's my thursday update i think sorry this is not as christmassy as i was hoping it'd be but hopefully we'll do something very christmasy tomorrow hopefully so and i just i really like this background should i film in front of it like a real video i don't know and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising god and saying glory to god in the highest and on earth peace goodwill toward men i don't think cake's sleepy at all he's literally out like a light you guys give up or you're thirsty for more all right we're gonna try to make let me see i'm going to try to make this holiday cake house it's obviously an oreo gingerbread house never used it before but no one loves oreos so let's try this it'll probably be a disaster but we'll have fun doing it won't we look we can build a snowman no december december 5th yeah so that's right and we're just trying to do a lot of christmasy things this year now can you say merry christmas merry christmas merry christmas merry christmas dang this is just way too easy it's gonna fall apart let's be real here's our gingerbread house do you like it you say merry christmas merry christmas i think it's a beautiful gingerbread house we got a really janky looking snowman hello from the world's worst vlogger it's sunday i have not done a good job vlogging this week i don't know some weeks like you really feel like vlogging and then some weeks it's just like uh this week was like that but either way i'm here to not do a wrap up quite quite yet but an update so i think i last talked to you guys on friday maybe i don't even know maybe even thursday yes i'm that horrible i finished the 12 dates of christmas by jenny bayless i gave this i would say a three out of five it was a epitome of a really cute um holiday read i will say so in this book we follow a character named kate who is 34 and i think she's just tired of being single she decides to sign up for this thing called the 12 dates of christmas through like i don't know think of like match.com where she gets paired with a different guy um and they do like a different activity every 12 dates like sometimes it's like cocktail making cooking salsa dancing and stuff like that so you kind of go through all of her dates and everything meanwhile she lives in this really small town england called blexford and she um is a designer she also helps like bake pastries for one of her really good friends matt's like coffee shop there's some sort of history between them i'm sure obviously you can guess what happens it definitely has a friends to lovers um trope in it i don't think that's spoiling it for you the romance was cute i wish it was a little bit more developed i feel like especially with like um a couple that i don't know if you would call it friends to love or second chance romance you know that have been kind of a part for such a long time you need to kind of rebuild that chemistry and stuff like that and i don't really feel like it was a hundred percent there like i could tell there was a history between kate and matt but i wanted more chemistry and i wanted more kind of like moments where they were like wow i really think i'm still attracted to you and said at the end it kind of just came and it was there so i don't know it was cute i would recommend it if you're looking for like a really cute christmasy novel i'm not going to lie to you there but it wasn't my favorite i read this week so there's that one so my next book i was supposed to read was queen move by kennedy ryan but i don't want to say i'm in a slump i'm just i'm kind of at a standstill with reading right now this happens to me at the end of the year honestly because i'm like oh there's a lot of books i want to read that are coming out next year but i have to wait and honestly the book i really want to get into right now is the sky beyond the storm by saba tahir that's the fourth um ember in the ashes um book and i just i really want to read it so i'm going to start that after i finish the next one that i'm currently reading so right now i'm reading another novella um i do that a lot with readathons it's just how it is i'm reading forever wild by k.a tucker this is the third book in her the simple wild series i read the first two this one's like kind of a encompassing book about jonah and calla i can't tell you much more about that takes place in alaska they fall in love things like that this one i know takes place during christmas it's like 100 pages so i'm going to read that and update you um my feelings on that but yeah i do want to share with you really quickly i got some book mail um yesterday so the first one i got is from sourcefirebooks and that is the castle school for troubled girls by alyssa chamall i love this cover i don't know much about it it's a dark psychological contemporary novel about a grieving teen sent to a mysterious boarding school where nothing is quite what it seems intrigued me already i love kind of mystery books set at boarding schools i'm there for it i think a lot of us are and the other book that i got is actually from alkrie and that is their how the king of alpha learn to hate stories so this is um tale includes um the life before the cruel prince that's what it is an adventure beyond the queen of nothing and familiar but pivotal moments from the folk of air trilogy told holy from cardin's perspective so it seems really good i mean i'm a sucker for cardin i loved the end papers even on the um dust jacket you get some card in action right there beautiful and look at that that's really pretty too and i believe it's illustrated a little bit yes it is you get a little taste right there but either way i might read this this month who knows my reading plans are just all over the place right now usually i'm very set and structured but somehow that's just literally gone out the window so i'm gonna read um forever wild and i'll update you and that'll be like my official ending of this vlog i'll update you soon hopefully with good things to say about forever wild see you soon hello i'm back i changed my shirt but it's still the same day sunday i promise so i just finished the little novella what's it called again forever wild by kate tucker it's like the third book in the simple wild series the wild series probably i liked it i would give it a three it was like 100 pages so it was hard to judge um i can't tell you much about it because it would be spoiling the first two books but as i've told you in a simple while it's kind of about this girl named kala who has to go to alaska because her dad's not doing well and she meets this really surly pilot named jonah and hateful love happens you can guess from there so i'm glad i read it i do know now that she's continuing on with the series from a different character which when i first saw that like literally a few minutes ago i was like oh but now i'm like that could be interesting i would read that so i'm excited for it so i'm gonna wrap up so i read this week a total of three full-length novels and three novellas so six things in total not too shabby overall i think my favorite book of the whole read-a-thon would be actually our group read and the holidays i really enjoyed it one of my favorite christina warren books very christmasy holiday romantic i really enjoyed it my favorite novella would probably have to go to wrapped up in you by talia albert oh i really want a full-length novel of that one honestly it was just perfection so overall it was a great to the seasonathon a lot of you guys participated i'm sorry if i didn't reply or do a lot i tried to be active on instagram and twitter but it gets hard sometimes especially with homeschooling and virtual schooling and all that stuff it gets just to be a lot especially this time of year but nonetheless i hope you guys enjoy if you participate i hope you had a good time hopefully it was low-key and chill and i think i did bingo i'm not 100 sure hopefully i did video i did every challenge but the read a book you meant to read this year but didn't so i guess i failed i don't know i feel accomplished i'm happy now i'm off to read the fourth book in the amber in the ashes series that's probably going to make me sob insanely so thanks a lot to here in advance but nevertheless i hope you guys enjoyed this vlog it was decent even though it don't feel like it was but i will see you guys in the next one byehello everyone and welcome to my tizzy seasonathon reading vlog tis the season to be jolly fala i thought that i would film this intro right in front of my christmas tree which is brand new this with christmas but somehow i just get really stressed out with decorating with christmas because it's just so much and i'm just like i can't even film it i don't know if i'm the only one that feels that way but i will share with you all of the decor we have everything set up and everything like that i'll do like a nice little montage for you i'll do a nice little b-roll montage for you that i filmed last night and i hope you enjoyed it because i was just sitting here and i was like this is so cozy and i love christmas time just for that so yeah here's hoping that this week goes well reading wise and personal wise i'll try to update you every day about what i'm reading and christmasy things and just honestly life in general because i try to keep it as real as possible so yeah debating whether to give this a three and a half or a four star overall i really enjoyed it but i just was left feeling kind of underwhelmed about it if that makes any sense so in this book we have a character named minnie and the whole plot kind of focuses on you know with minnie's mom like giving birth to minnie and it's like new year's eve and there's this cash prize for like the first 50 babies that are born and she gets paired in this room with another woman also giving birth and you know um minnie's mom coat like helps the other woman like kind of go through birth and was like her birthing coach and they talk and minnie's mom's like you know i'm naming my daughter quinn because quinn's are always winners and she just wants that and so basically long story short the other woman steals the name and names her son quinn and minnie's left named minnie so it follows many years later as minnie is now 30 and she's struggling a lot with her life both in love she kind of has a lackluster relationship she has a business called no hard fillings which is like a pie business like feelings get it um and that's also struggling and somehow through a random term events she actually meets quinn the guy who pretty much stole her name and she blames for a lot of stuff like minnie's birthday new year's eve is always a catastrophe of bad events like she feels like it's cursed it's a big jinx for her so you know her and quinn have all these chance encounters they're very very different and maybe a relationship happens from there so this book kind of like portrayed itself as like that how many chances to meet your perfect match and i thought they would just keep running into each other like in the present but it also goes back into many other of like their birthdays like of how they also had chance encounters but didn't know it was one another like way back when they were like 12 and then like when they were like 14 and i like that but i was like i feel like that was kind of misleading i thought it was gonna be chance counters encounters now so i didn't love that um minnie was a character i did really enjoy she struggled a lot she was very very hard on herself and didn't value herself and that frustrated me yet i really resonated with that because i am also the same way with myself like i'm down on myself a lot like i shouldn't be but that's just how some people are and that's how i am so i connected with her a ton and her and quinn they had this connection but also i didn't love it that makes any sense like they're very different they also talked a lot about mental health because quinn's mother has very severe anxiety she's also agoraphobic if that's the correct terminology i hope where she cannot leave the house a lot of things have happened to her and quinn's always been the one to champion her and so because of that he's always at his mother's back and call and his relationships suffer and so him and minnie you know have this tumultuous thing going on it's all about their relationship so is this a christmasy book um it's always like it starts around new year's eve it takes place during the whole year but also really flashes back to new to new year's eve so i guess you could argue argue technically it is a christmas book but i enjoyed it i just didn't love it love it like i wanted more from it it gave me one day in december vibes which i love that book but this one just left me wanting a little bit something more i wanted more of the actual relationship with minnie and quinn and i find often times especially in romance books um or chiclet books i shall say that you get like their happy ending like right when they're about to get together and i want to see more of that like i want to see them actually be together like i want to know more exactly about it so i think i'm still debating on three and a half or four i enjoyed it i flew through it i was oftentimes thinking about the characters i loved the way that they portrayed both of their lives and how realistic they were with many struggling financially and also with her family and stuff like that so overall i did like it and i would recommend it i just didn't love it as much as i thought i was gonna love it so there's that one so the two novellas i finished for the first one was booked for christmas by sandy menon this romance that was like a hundred pages it's about a character named sophie who is a romance author and basically she's hosting like this christmas party at her like cabin that's kind of out in the woods snowy um and her book this book critic arrives to this party and it's like her rival this book critic named wolf who always writes really scathing reviews about her romance author or her romance books and the return of events they he gets stuck there and they spend a couple days together and you can guess what happens from there overall i gave this one a three i definitely felt like it could have been flashed out more these novellas are so hard to like really review because it's only 100 pages you're not getting the full picture as much as the author wants to try to sometimes it's really hard um this one i really feel like it would have benefited for being a full-length novel like i would have read it i loved the banter they had they hate to love it happened like that because of the novella like it just came out of nowhere so i would love to see it be a full-leave novel to develop it more i would have really enjoyed it but it was christmasy vibes snowy cabin hate to love so i did enjoy it it's a quick fun christmasy read so i liked it um and then the other novella i read was wrapped up in you by talia heavert i gave this a 4 out of 5. i would also really love to see this as a full-length novel but for this one i will say i got the complete picture with this one again it's around like 100 pages and in this book we found a character named abby i think that's her name abby yes and she has a twin brother and she's been in love with her twin brother's best friend for like ever he's like this famous actor i want to say his name is evan please forgive me and basically they another cabin type of book they get together with a family and this year like evan is gonna tell abby that he loves her like he's he wants to court her he wants to be with her and it's kind of just about that and it is the perfection of a friends to lovers romance of just them spilling their feelings out with a little bit of steamy times but also just oh it was so beautiful i loved it so much like i like friends to lovers but this book made me love friends to lovers this little short story i enjoyed it immensely would love a full-length novel for it for sure talia ever never disappoints me so i'm not surprised i really loved it so those are the three things i read feeling good about it i'm not gonna lie to you i am pushing myself a little bit because again that's who i am i'm gonna try to like just calm down though because my anxiety and stress levels are preposterous right now so the next book i'm moving on to is our group read actually and that is in a holidays by christina lauren i've heard mixed things about it from you guys a lot of you guys have loved it and a lot of you guys have just found it kind of in the middle so i'm feeling i will probably feel similar in that regard so yeah this one's like a groundhog day holiday one there you go so hopefully i'll like it time will tell as i always say so in other news i want to share with you our epic calendars that we do so this is what i got him i get him one like this every year it's just like chocolate every day he really enjoys opening up and then my best friend surprised me with this big old box that has like 24 um different gifts in here for noah like she did this for me my other best friend all of her nieces and nephews and she's just awesome i would i can't show him this otherwise he will open them all up right now so i have to pull them out so today's december 2nd so this is day two i just thought that's so sweet i love her so much if you're watching i love you pretty dearly but this is just like oh look she even put this in there time to count the days one of christmas start at one and have fun love aunt b she's just uh i love her so much so i can't he's having fun already open this up i'm really excited to see what's in here and what he thinks of it no you guys look for number two so there's one and then where's two at where's two two there it is got it help there you go let's get it out who is it it's minnie oh look oh some coloring books santa say thank you aunty and other exciting news i have my copy of the sky beyond the storm this is the fourth and final book in the ember in the ashes series by saba tahir which is it might be my favorite why fantasy series of all time um i just love it it's a and i don't need a lot of fly fantasy anymore i just don't i don't know why but i've read this one since the beginning and um i really like the first tubes a third one i just loved a ton so i'm very excited for this one it's gonna probably make me cry a ton i will be so so so upset if saba does my girl helene wrong i love helene so much she's been through a lot she's probably gonna be a lot probably gonna go through a lot in this book probably gonna cry but it's like a y fantasy very like kind of roman empire hard-hitting just a lot um but i'm very excited to read it i am gonna read this month not for this readathon because no it's not very christmasy but and you know it's very dark but i am so excited to have a copy of this um yeah i just thought i'd share that because this is like one of my most anticipated releases of the entire year and here we are at the end of the year um this hopefully will like i've already started constructing my like favorites of the year list and i'm hoping this way i'm hoping this one's like gets its way into it because i really want it to so yeah there's not really a lot of update right now i just wanted to share that i bought that book today because i'm very excited to have it also another book mail news um i got a copy of the good girls by claire elizabeth barnett um this is from harper teen i love the cover of this i think it's like a why a mystery a small town murder um and the center of it all are good girls go ahead look them in the eyes ask them why they did it i don't know secrets lies and then somebody dies sounds interesting um will i try to read it this month i don't know who else tries to cram in all the books before the end of the year just me all right as part of one of the bingo challenges is to make a christmas treat i think so we're gonna bake sugar cookies will it be good look great but these are the best i've ever done sugar cookies so take what's that what you will how they will end up we'll see you're wondering why don't i open up my own bakery this is why was this done by a six-year-old no this was done by a 32 year old woman i don't bake a discount bakery let's see yours i would buy that at a discount about now 25 cent bakery matt and heather's bakery where they throw up i promise that it's different days i just keep filming in front of this because who doesn't want to look a beautiful christmas tree i don't want to so i have actually been really good about reading um so i actually literally like an hour ago i finished in the holidays by christina lauren i flew through this way faster than i thought it was going to but i'm not surprised because it's a christina lauren book and i read those very quickly so if you don't know they're an author duo this is like their first holiday book and i have to say i really enjoyed it i gave it a 4 out of 5. it was cute it was romantic it was christmasy it made me swoon so i really enjoyed it so in this book we have a character named may who loves the holidays her family and like her other kind of like found family like her parents college roommates and their sons like you know it's kind of like her parents and their friends and their friends kids and things like that always spend like a week at this cabin that they own um every christmas and so this one christmas doesn't really go that great and as she's leaving the cabin she like throws away a shot in the universe like show what will make me happy and next thing you know she wakes up on the plane to the cabin to start this day all over again so what we have is pretty much a groundhog day um kind of um thing where she just keeps messing up and waking up going back to the plane the whole kind of center around this centers around this guy named andrew who's been in her life like ever since she was a child they literally grew up together he's um like four or five years older than him she's had a crush on him forever and you know i think she's just like i think i'm just going to tell him that i have been in love with him forever so obviously you can guess it's like a friends to lovers thing with a little bit of like a time travel element involved into it and i it was really cute i love the romance a french delivers romance it's just so sweet and i really i really did like the chemistry between them and overall like i said i gave it a four out of five i don't think like it's like you're gonna get insanely much out of it but if you just want something christmassy romantic has some family elements into it with a little bit of like a time travel aspect i would recommend in the holidays i really liked it so four out of five now i'm gonna move i'm saving like my last book for like my not holiday one that's queen move by kennedy ryan so that's gonna be my last book for this readathon i think i just want to get i don't want to say i want to get all the christmas ones out of the way because i want to film my holidays like recommendations soon so i'm trying to read all the christmas ones i can't sign a ring is the 12 days of christmas by jenny bayless it's about a girl that goes on 12 dates and i think this is also probably a friends to lovers romance time will tell but we'll see this one i've seen iffy reviews about so my plan hopefully is to finish this by saturday at the latest and hopefully i can speed on through queen move by kenny ryan and then i'll complete in my tbr which feels amazing so yeah that's my plan i'm feeling a lot better today mood shift especially for women if you get what i mean so yeah that's my thursday update i think sorry this is not as christmassy as i was hoping it'd be but hopefully we'll do something very christmasy tomorrow hopefully so and i just i really like this background should i film in front of it like a real video i don't know and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising god and saying glory to god in the highest and on earth peace goodwill toward men i don't think cake's sleepy at all he's literally out like a light you guys give up or you're thirsty for more all right we're gonna try to make let me see i'm going to try to make this holiday cake house it's obviously an oreo gingerbread house never used it before but no one loves oreos so let's try this it'll probably be a disaster but we'll have fun doing it won't we look we can build a snowman no december december 5th yeah so that's right and we're just trying to do a lot of christmasy things this year now can you say merry christmas merry christmas merry christmas merry christmas dang this is just way too easy it's gonna fall apart let's be real here's our gingerbread house do you like it you say merry christmas merry christmas i think it's a beautiful gingerbread house we got a really janky looking snowman hello from the world's worst vlogger it's sunday i have not done a good job vlogging this week i don't know some weeks like you really feel like vlogging and then some weeks it's just like uh this week was like that but either way i'm here to not do a wrap up quite quite yet but an update so i think i last talked to you guys on friday maybe i don't even know maybe even thursday yes i'm that horrible i finished the 12 dates of christmas by jenny bayless i gave this i would say a three out of five it was a epitome of a really cute um holiday read i will say so in this book we follow a character named kate who is 34 and i think she's just tired of being single she decides to sign up for this thing called the 12 dates of christmas through like i don't know think of like match.com where she gets paired with a different guy um and they do like a different activity every 12 dates like sometimes it's like cocktail making cooking salsa dancing and stuff like that so you kind of go through all of her dates and everything meanwhile she lives in this really small town england called blexford and she um is a designer she also helps like bake pastries for one of her really good friends matt's like coffee shop there's some sort of history between them i'm sure obviously you can guess what happens it definitely has a friends to lovers um trope in it i don't think that's spoiling it for you the romance was cute i wish it was a little bit more developed i feel like especially with like um a couple that i don't know if you would call it friends to love or second chance romance you know that have been kind of a part for such a long time you need to kind of rebuild that chemistry and stuff like that and i don't really feel like it was a hundred percent there like i could tell there was a history between kate and matt but i wanted more chemistry and i wanted more kind of like moments where they were like wow i really think i'm still attracted to you and said at the end it kind of just came and it was there so i don't know it was cute i would recommend it if you're looking for like a really cute christmasy novel i'm not going to lie to you there but it wasn't my favorite i read this week so there's that one so my next book i was supposed to read was queen move by kennedy ryan but i don't want to say i'm in a slump i'm just i'm kind of at a standstill with reading right now this happens to me at the end of the year honestly because i'm like oh there's a lot of books i want to read that are coming out next year but i have to wait and honestly the book i really want to get into right now is the sky beyond the storm by saba tahir that's the fourth um ember in the ashes um book and i just i really want to read it so i'm going to start that after i finish the next one that i'm currently reading so right now i'm reading another novella um i do that a lot with readathons it's just how it is i'm reading forever wild by k.a tucker this is the third book in her the simple wild series i read the first two this one's like kind of a encompassing book about jonah and calla i can't tell you much more about that takes place in alaska they fall in love things like that this one i know takes place during christmas it's like 100 pages so i'm going to read that and update you um my feelings on that but yeah i do want to share with you really quickly i got some book mail um yesterday so the first one i got is from sourcefirebooks and that is the castle school for troubled girls by alyssa chamall i love this cover i don't know much about it it's a dark psychological contemporary novel about a grieving teen sent to a mysterious boarding school where nothing is quite what it seems intrigued me already i love kind of mystery books set at boarding schools i'm there for it i think a lot of us are and the other book that i got is actually from alkrie and that is their how the king of alpha learn to hate stories so this is um tale includes um the life before the cruel prince that's what it is an adventure beyond the queen of nothing and familiar but pivotal moments from the folk of air trilogy told holy from cardin's perspective so it seems really good i mean i'm a sucker for cardin i loved the end papers even on the um dust jacket you get some card in action right there beautiful and look at that that's really pretty too and i believe it's illustrated a little bit yes it is you get a little taste right there but either way i might read this this month who knows my reading plans are just all over the place right now usually i'm very set and structured but somehow that's just literally gone out the window so i'm gonna read um forever wild and i'll update you and that'll be like my official ending of this vlog i'll update you soon hopefully with good things to say about forever wild see you soon hello i'm back i changed my shirt but it's still the same day sunday i promise so i just finished the little novella what's it called again forever wild by kate tucker it's like the third book in the simple wild series the wild series probably i liked it i would give it a three it was like 100 pages so it was hard to judge um i can't tell you much about it because it would be spoiling the first two books but as i've told you in a simple while it's kind of about this girl named kala who has to go to alaska because her dad's not doing well and she meets this really surly pilot named jonah and hateful love happens you can guess from there so i'm glad i read it i do know now that she's continuing on with the series from a different character which when i first saw that like literally a few minutes ago i was like oh but now i'm like that could be interesting i would read that so i'm excited for it so i'm gonna wrap up so i read this week a total of three full-length novels and three novellas so six things in total not too shabby overall i think my favorite book of the whole read-a-thon would be actually our group read and the holidays i really enjoyed it one of my favorite christina warren books very christmasy holiday romantic i really enjoyed it my favorite novella would probably have to go to wrapped up in you by talia albert oh i really want a full-length novel of that one honestly it was just perfection so overall it was a great to the seasonathon a lot of you guys participated i'm sorry if i didn't reply or do a lot i tried to be active on instagram and twitter but it gets hard sometimes especially with homeschooling and virtual schooling and all that stuff it gets just to be a lot especially this time of year but nonetheless i hope you guys enjoy if you participate i hope you had a good time hopefully it was low-key and chill and i think i did bingo i'm not 100 sure hopefully i did video i did every challenge but the read a book you meant to read this year but didn't so i guess i failed i don't know i feel accomplished i'm happy now i'm off to read the fourth book in the amber in the ashes series that's probably going to make me sob insanely so thanks a lot to here in advance but nevertheless i hope you guys enjoyed this vlog it was decent even though it don't feel like it was but i will see you guys in the next one bye\n"
