Unboxing Blue Switch Lite - NOW It's Purple 😂 [Shell Swap]

The Nintendo Switch Light in Blue: A Case Study of Color Perception and Shell Swapping

As I walked out of Best Buy with my new Nintendo Switch Light in blue, I couldn't help but notice the attention it was receiving. This particular shade of blue is one of the more mature-looking colors available for the Switch Light, and it's definitely caught the eye of many enthusiasts. The question on everyone's mind, however, is whether this blue hue is actually purple or just a clever marketing ploy.

I decided to put this debate to rest once and for all by testing the color in different lighting scenarios. Upon initial inspection, I thought the switch looked very blue, but as soon as I placed it in front of my laptop screen, it started to take on a purplish tone. This was especially noticeable when I compared it to a purple shell that I had purchased from Extreme Rate. It's clear that the color of the Switch Light can vary depending on the lighting conditions.

But what if I told you that this blue hue is actually not blue at all, but rather a unique shade that falls somewhere between purple and blue? As I continued to experiment with different lighting scenarios, I began to notice that the color could be interpreted in multiple ways. My husband even chimed in on the conversation, suggesting that it's more of a dark blue than a primary blue. And yet, for those who are particularly fond of purple, this shade is still definitely worth considering.

So, how can you get your hands on this unique shade of blue for your Switch Light? The answer lies with Extreme Rate, which offers a range of screen border and shell options that can be applied to the device. I opted for a white screen border, but it's clear that there are also gray and black options available as well. While I'm not sure if an identical purple shell will ever be released by Nintendo itself, Extreme Rate is definitely doing its part to give fans more options for customizing their Switch Light.

One of the things that struck me most about this entire experience was how much I enjoyed taking apart my brand new Switch Light and swapping out the screen. It's not something that I would normally recommend, especially since it voids the warranty, but there's just something satisfying about tinkering with electronics. And let's be real – if you're going to take the time to customize your Switch Light anyway, might as well go all in and give it a personalized look.

As I continue to explore the world of shell swapping and screen customization for the Switch Light, I'm excited to see what other options will become available in the future. Whether or not this particular shade of blue is actually purple, one thing is clear: fans are willing to go to great lengths to get their hands on unique and personalized accessories for their devices.

If you're interested in learning more about shell swapping and screen customization for your Switch Light, I have a video tutorial available in the description below. It's an in-depth guide that covers everything from disassembling the device to applying new screens and shells. And if you do decide to take the plunge and customize your Switch Light, be sure to let me know what you think – after all, it's always great to have some company in this little corner of the Nintendo community.

looks and how this feels it's a soft touch feel to it and actually i have two of these guys here of course just so that we can compare this is a color that's more sure of itself i spent more time with this blue unit and i looked at it in several different lighting scenarios and really it could go either way you could consider this purpley blue my husband called it purple or you could kind of consider it as a dark blue but it's not a primary blue so it's really whatever color you feel that it is but if you want purple you can definitely get a shell again this is from extreme rate i got just say we wanted to go with the white one i'm sure that that's this is gonna be too stark but you can see this is what it looks like with the white and you can see what it looks like with the black actually i kind of quite like that one or you can go with the gray i really hope they come out with an identical purple screen border for this thing and yeah i i like it i really really do and you can see extreme rate really goes all out on the details it's even got this etched volume here and micro sd card really high quality stuff not sponsored by the way i bought this myself so if you really had swap you could have a gray switch light like this guy you can see this one actually already has a gray screen border so let me know what you guys think just a fun little project if you're daring so this has been erica the technology nerd likes to film stuff please like comment subscribe let me know how crazy you think i am i just totally took apart a brand new switch light avoided my warranty
