Blue Spark Digital Microphone Unboxing and Quick Overview

# Unboxing the Blue Spark Digital Microphone: A Detailed Look

Hello and welcome to Tech Me Out! Today, we’re going to be doing a quick unboxing of the Spark Digital Microphone. This microphone is made by Blue, and it’s very similar to Blue Microphones’ more high-end cardioid mic. It’s known as the Spark Cardioid Solid-State Condenser Mic. This one pretty much has the same internals, but the difference is that it’s digital, so you don’t need the ICicle or all the extra cables and everything to get it going. All you need is a USB port.

Something else that’s pretty cool about it is that it will also work with your Apple devices such as your iPhone, your iPad, and your iPod. So, if you want to get high-quality recording on your mobile devices, that can be achieved with this particular microphone. However, I’m not going to go into an in-depth review of the microphone today. The purpose of this video is to unbox it, so let’s get started with that.

The packaging here is just this purple box. You have the Blue microphone on the front, some information about the microphone on the side, and a guy playing the guitar on the back. There’s also some general information about the microphone on the packaging, but let’s jump inside of the box because we’ve spent enough time looking at it already.

Inside, we have the Spark Digital manual, which gives you some basic information about the microphone and how it can be used. It also tells you about the cords and the microphone itself—everything you need to know right there in the pamphlet. Let’s pull out the microphone and see what else is included.

Inside the box, we have a carrying bag that emphasizes the portability of the Spark Digital. The bag feels very high quality and durable, so it can withstand stains, dirt, and other things. It has a soft interior that protects the microphone from scratches and helps keep it in good condition. This is definitely better than just carrying the microphone without a case.

Inside the case, we have some cables. It looks like we have the USB cable for the Spark Digital. This particular one will allow you to plug it into your device, as well as has a headphone port so you can plug in your headphones and listen to the audio that you’re recording. The other cable here is the connector cable, which is how you get the microphone to work with your mobile devices. If you have a newer Apple device that uses the Lightning connector, you can just get the adapter kit from Apple and use it so that it works with later generations of Apple devices.

Inside this cardboard box is where the stand rests. We have the Spark Digital stand as well as the Spark Digital microphone. The stand feels very durable—it’s not heavy, but it does have some weight to it, so you can tell that it’s going to stay put wherever you place it. It looks like we also have an integrated shock mount into the stand itself. I’m going to be testing this shock mount in depth because when I watch reviews of microphones, they don’t make the sounds that I make when recording audio. So, I’ll be definitely trying to make some common sounds that you may hear when recording, such as bumping the desk or things like that.

So, definitely stay tuned for the review because I’m going to give the shock mount a thorough test. In addition to the shock mount, we have the microphone, which is packaged very nicely. It’s absolutely beautiful—high-quality metal finish and everything. At the bottom of the microphone, we have our mute switch, and this button here is a multi-purpose button that will control the volume of your headphones as well as control the game audio. Back here, we have our Focus switch, which enhances the audio that’s being recorded.

That’s really it for what we have in the package. Like I said earlier, stay tuned for an in-depth review because I’m going to be definitely testing this microphone as much as possible. I also have the Blue Yeti, so I’ll be putting them up against each other so you can get a better idea of how the microphone contrasts from one mic to the other in reference to the blue line.

If you have something specific that you want me to test about this microphone, feel free to drop it down below in the comments. If you enjoyed this video, please be sure to give it a thumbs up and subscribe so you can stay updated. As always, thanks for taking the time out to let me check you out!
