The Quality and Practicality of the Audi A3 Sportback Interior

The quality of the recently facelifted Audi A3 sportback interior can't be questioned, but how is it in terms of practicality? Well, very good actually. The boot opening is much wider than the Mercedes A classes, making it easier to load and unload cargo. The adjustable floor means there's only a small load lip to contend with, and there's space to hold valuables underneath it, despite the A3 having a space-saver spare wheel. Additionally, you also get Curtains and tie-down hooks for your luggage. However, the lack of a 12-volt power socket is the only reason one might grumble.

The boot capacity of the Audi A3 sportback is quite impressive, with a standard capacity of 3.180 L. When the rear seats are folded away, the maximum capacity grows to 1,200 L. But what do these numbers mean? Well, a stroller and soft bags fit comfortably within the boot's wide opening, and there's also room for two small suitcases but only one large one. Getting golf clubs in is a bit of a challenge, however. Audi's back seats fall completely flat, making it easy to slide a bike in and out without having to remove any wheels like you would in the Mercedes A class.

The Audi can carry a TV box, a large box, two medium boxes, two small boxes, two small suitcases, and a couple of soft bags. The space in the back seats is also impressive, with the Audi A3 sportback being longer than the three-o model. This translates to more rear leg room and head room, but a third passenger's foot room is eaten into by the large transmission tunnel. It's actually not as good as the Mercedes A class for carrying three in the back, despite this.

However, Audi makes it easy when coming to fit a child seat. The easy access eyes of fix anchors make it dead simple to lock the base into place. With wide doors and lots of rear room, it's also easy to maneuver the actual seat itself onto the base. Overall, the A3 is a really family-friendly car, with loads of cubby spaces to store all your bits and pieces. The door bins are big, although not quite as large as in the Mercedes A class. You do get four cup holders, though, and a glove box that's big enough for a 2 L bottle of water.

IDE has given the sportback plenty of charging points, apart from in the boot of course. In fact, the AUD A3 sportb interior isn't just well built and smart looking; it's also immensely practical. If you click over there, you can watch our 360° infotainment video, plus the in-depth video review.
