Unboxing - Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive

Unboxing the Seagate Backup Plus 4TB USB 3.0 Drive

The excitement begins with opening the box, which is itself another box within a box. The first thing we see inside is a power adapter, nothing special, just traditional. It's clear that this isn't going to be an exciting unboxing experience from a design perspective.

However, things start to get interesting when the USB 3.0 cord and power adapter are revealed. One of the standout features of the Seagate Backup Plus 4TB is its blue color scheme, which is used for the USB 3.0 plug. This is a nice touch and can make it easier to tell the difference between different types of cables.

As we move on to the hard drive itself, it's clear that this is going to be the main event of our unboxing experience. The hard drive comes out of its plastic wrapping, revealing a sleek and modern design. It's blue, just like the power adapter and USB 3.0 cord, which adds to the overall sense of theme and consistency.

The hard drive itself has a nice weight to it, with a Hefty feel that suggests a solid build quality. The back of the hard drive is also noteworthy, with a series of prism-like grooves that provide ventilation. This was clearly thought out by the designers, who recognized the potential for airflow to be an issue when using this type of device horizontally.

As we take a closer look at the back of the hard drive, it becomes clear that there are both power and USB connections. The power connection is standard, while the USB 3.0 connection allows users to transfer data quickly and easily.

Overall, the Seagate Backup Plus 4TB is a solid device with a focus on design and functionality. While it may not be the most exciting unboxing experience, there's certainly something to be said for its clean lines and modern aesthetic.

The Hard Drive Itself

Taking off the thin layer of plastic that covers the hard drive reveals a sleek and modern design. The glossy finish is appealing, with a nice weight to the device that suggests a solid build quality. The hard drive itself is 4 terabytes in size, which is a significant amount of storage space.

As we look closer at the hard drive, it becomes clear that it's designed to be compact and portable. This makes it an excellent choice for users who need to back up their devices on the go. The hard drive is fully compatible with both PCs and Macs, making it easy to use across different platforms.

The Future of My Storage

So what does this mean for me? Well, I've recently experienced the horror of losing a hard drive. My Western Digital internal drive went out, and I was left scrambling to find a replacement. In the end, I had to replace it with a new Seagate 2TB external drive, which has been working perfectly.

However, when Cay asked me if I wanted a 2TB or a 4TB hard drive, I hesitated for a moment before deciding to take the chance on the larger capacity. I'm glad I did, as I've found that it's worth having more storage space available.

As my Mac Pro arrives, I'll be putting this hard drive through its paces and putting it through all sorts of tests to see how it performs. I'm excited to see how it will handle different types of data transfer, including video files and other large datasets.

The Unboxing Experience

I should mention that the unboxing experience was quite enjoyable. The Seagate Backup Plus 4TB came in a variety of boxes, each one containing the hard drive itself as well as other components like the power adapter and USB 3.0 cord.

While I wouldn't say that this is an exciting unboxing experience from a design perspective, it's certainly impressive to see how much hardware comes with the device. The package includes everything you need to get started right out of the box.

The Mac Pro and Other Components

I'm also excited to be ordering a new monitor for my Mac Pro, which will allow me to fully immerse myself in the experience of using this powerful machine. I've heard great things about it, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs.

In addition to the hard drive and monitor, I'll also be picking up a new keyboard and mouse to go along with my Mac Pro. These will add an extra layer of convenience and immersion to the experience, allowing me to work more efficiently and effectively than ever before.

Conclusion

That's all for now, folks! The Seagate Backup Plus 4TB is an impressive device that offers a lot of storage space and fast data transfer speeds. I'm excited to see how it performs in real-world use cases, and I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces as part of my Mac Pro setup.

here yet it will be here within well it could ship within a few days but it'll most likely be here in April so I contacted seate to see if they're interested in letting me review their hard drive alongside my Mac Pro and they graciously said yes so huge thanks to seates I greatly appreciate this review opportunity I don't well I guess I have unboxed hard drives in the past I was going to say I wouldn't normally just unbox a hard drive but because this is kind of like a special occasion for me because it is my first accessory for my new Mac Pro it's just something I want to look back on and plus like I said Cate provided this for review so it's the least I could do besides my official review anyway I'm talking a lot let's just unbox this because I am very very excited I don't think I've been been this excited for a hard drive in a long time so taking it out of ZBOX and I'm very interested in comparing speeds from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0 all right the first thing we see in the box is another box box within a box opening this box we have should be a USB cable or the power adapter rather or both yeah both so we have a power adapter nothing special pretty traditional let me take it out of the plastic show you guys there you go again nothing revolutionary it's just a power adapter now this is where it gets exciting USB 3.0 cord and for those not aware you can usually tell the difference between USB 3 and USB 2 because the inside of the USB 3 plug is usually blue which is actually really cool I just amused by that it almost matches my extremely blue shirt but I just think that's neat because obviously USB looks the same no matter what at least this end of USB coming from USB 1 to USB 2 and now coming up to USB 3 there's really no difference except for the color so that's definitely something you want to keep in mind um when looking at USB 3.0 cables always look for the blue color all right that box is done and now for the granddaddy of the show oh wow sorry there's so much stuff the hard drive itself is even blue which I don't even know okay so taking it out of the plastic very carefully oh and yes real quick I just got to throw this out there my hard drive rule is usually I don't want anything over two terabytes cuz losing a two terab drive as it is is just scary and that recently happened to me my Western Digital Drive went out my Western Digital internal drive I should say um two terab recently went out and I replaced it with a Seagate 2 tbte and it's been perfect so far so knock on wood let's hope that doesn't happen again so I did ask Cay for a two terabyte but they wanted to give me a 4 terabyte so I was like you know what why not let's take the chance and let's have four terabytes of storage so all right taking off the very thin layer of plastic oh yes I love that feeling come on guys agree with me that is nice all right extremely glossy so this should match my new Mac Pro quite nicely it's got a nice nice little Hefty weight to it again the back is blue but interestingly enough because this lays horizontally which is definitely different I usually prefer vertical dries but I'm willing to give this a shot because this lays horizontally you would think ventilation might be an issue nope Cate thought of this because the bottom does have these prism like grooves if that's the best word prism I guess so obviously I'll throw in some close-ups so you can see what I'm talking about you can barely see it right there but it does allow a little bit of ventilation on the B but you do events all around the sides on all three sides but not the fourth and on the back we have the power connection as well as a USB 3.0 connection and there you go that is my unboxing of the seate backup plus 4 tbte USB 3.0 Drive which is fully compatible with both PCS and Macs there's really no difference USB is USB and the name Universal seral bus so there you go guys stay tuned for my full review after my Mac Pro arrives again I'm not sure when that's going to be it could be next week it could be at the end of April it's kind of like expecting a baby like someone said over at instagram.com David DeFranco I don't really know when it's going to happen but until then I can just set this aside and drool just like my Asus monitor that I will be ordering next week this week for you guys you're not seeing this until I think Tuesday um and then I'll have to set that monitor aside and kind of just torture myself and not be able to use it until my Mac Pro arrives R because I don't want to put it on my current Mac Pro that kind of spoils the experience I just want my new Mac Pro to be a completely new experience not just because of a desktop but in terms of the monitor oh and yes I cannot forget a new keyboard and mouse so it's
