LAST MINUTE HAUL _ DOLLAR TREE & HOBBY LOBBY _ Gingerbread

A Day of DIYs and Decorating

Today was a day filled with creativity and organization as I tackled my kitchen decorating project. I had two gingerbread-shaped aprons that I thought might be perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to my decor, but upon closer inspection, I decided that I might need a couple more like them.

As I was browsing through Hobby Lobby, I stumbled upon the most adorable Christmas apron - it's not actually an apron, but rather a hand towel with Velcro closure. I loved the candy cane stripes and couldn't resist picking one up. I also found some ribbon in a red check pattern, which reminded me of traditional gingham fabric. I thought this would be a great accent for my Christmas tree.

I made another stop at Hobby Lobby to pick up some more ornaments, including a cute little baking sheet ornament with a gingerbread-inspired design. I was excited to find these gems hiding in an aisle that seemed random at first. The price of the ornaments was $2.99 each, but since they were 50% off, it was basically a steal.

As I continued my shopping spree, I realized that I wanted something special for my daughter-in-law's ornament this year. It's become a tradition for me to find an ornament that holds some sort of meaning or significance for her and our family. This year, I decided on a toaster-shaped ornament with a waffle design inside - it's essentially just a piece of toast, but I thought the idea was too cute to pass up.

The story behind this ornament is actually quite sweet. My daughter-in-law loves Eggo waffles, particularly the blueberry ones that you can find in the frozen food aisle at most grocery stores. She often puts butter and syrup on them and has a bit of a fixation on having toast - or rather, a toaster - in her dorm room. I thought this ornament was perfect because it played off our joke about her not having a toaster yet.

I have to admit that I got a little carried away with my shopping and ended up picking up four of the ornaments. But I just couldn't resist their charm. The best part is that they're currently 50% off, making them an affordable way to add some festive flair to my decor.

Now that I've gotten all my shopping done, it's time to get started on organizing my kitchen and preparing for the reveal. Stay tuned for more updates from my DIY adventures - including a special living room reveal video coming soon!

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys today or tonight I felt like doing an impromptu haul and by that I mean I had no plans on my list of videos to do this but I've been moving some DIY is around so I think this will be Sunday's video I'm not sure when this is going up but anyway I rarely do this on this channel but I am just no makeup today I mean like not a stitch and I have a slight headache and I might have sprained my back you know the usual crafty girl injuries so if you've been with me for a while it's just always something anyway I am trying to prep for my gingerbread kitchen makeover I can't wait for you guys to see and I can't wait to reveal my entryway I also did a little bit of something in my office nothing too big but you'll get to see the full thing when I do my Christmas tour video so we still have my living room to do and we have my kitchen to do and then you guys will see the reveal of the entryway because it's completely different this year and I really feel like a lot of you are going to love it so stay tuned for that but I'm I'm realizing that I couldn't film my kitchen video because I had a couple little things I still needed to go out and get and that's what this is so if you feel like cozying up grab your favorite blanket cup of coffee hot chocolate tea like whatever it is I would grab a ginger ale but that's just me anyway if you want to see what I got for the kitchen there's I think that's pretty much everything is for the kitchen so let me just show you so the this is a hole between Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree so what I did was I took everything that I've been buying lately because my kitchen I've never done gingerbread before so I had to buy all brand new things and as I was laying it out I started realizing okay this might be missing this might be missing and that's the result of this so I realized that I needed some garland so this is Dollar Tree I'm going to show you what I got Dollar Tree and I picked two things of the same style garlotte and let me tell you there garland this year is really good and look at this this looks pretty full right but I got two just in case I needed to really add some good layering because the tree that I'm going to use to decorate the gingerbread ornaments looked a little thin I guess so I'm going to use this to just put into the tree and fluff it up and give it some volume alright I picked up a Santa hat I'm actually going to be doing a DIY for my daughter's room so stay tuned for that and I also got pipe cleaners for that same DIY and oh this you guys dollar tree put out some Christmas cards but what's interesting about this display is that it was separate from their handmade cards it was separate from their you know birthday anniversary get well card section this had its own display but it's like your everyday cards but what was interesting is that it was two for a dollar so each card was 50 cents plus they are so good you guys and it's homework they are Hallmark Christmas cards you can see on the back there and look how charming that is here is this one look at that farmhouse and this one has glitter on it I just can see that shining looks like a faux chalkboard has that farmhouse quality to it all of the details are just out of this world I wish you guys could see this in real life I mean look at the corner detail it's just so pretty and it was 50 Cent's I I don't even know how to wrap my head around that and this one and what I love about the ones that I'm showing you is that they're they're pretty generic on the front so you could really use these to decorate with meaning like they don't say to mom or grandma or you know to my husband kind of thing I really like that one oh it is trimmed in gold and they they all had red envelopes like every single last one of them and then look at this one is that not gorgeous happy holidays and you guys know I love plaid all right the last couple of things from Dollar Tree I was realizing that I could not locate my snowflake collection that I bought from Dollar Tree years I'm talking seven eight years ago I bought this dinnerware Christmas set at Dollar Tree about eight years ago and it was red and white and had snowflakes on it I I still have the glassware but I could not find my bowls my plates like I I have no idea where they where they walked off to and I really wanted something to pop for my gingerbread tablescape I'm so excited about it I can't wait for you guys to see it so I went like this this is what they have out this year and I'm telling you if you love something at Dollar Tree gråvik's you just don't know if it's gonna be there next year like they've never done the snowflake ever again so anyway I really love the traditional Holly here with the red and green I think it will be really complementary to the colors that I'm doing in my gingerbread so I got four of the large plates and because it's not snowflakes I realized I also need glassware to match that and I went with these they're like goblets I really are wine glasses or I don't know what they kind of call the the style but I love this style I have it also in the snowflake then I picked up some more now no we're into Hobby Lobby but I realized I think I needed a couple more things for my table scape and I decided to pick up these whimsical gingerbread trees they were in the gingerbread display at Hobby Lobby it was $14.99 but fifty percent off of that this was their medium sized one they had a large I didn't get it and then I got two of beat this size which is their small but I'm thinking I might need a couple these so I'm not sure there's a good chance as I'm decorating my kitchen tomorrow morning that I'm gonna go back out and grab a couple more of these I also did some DIYs I can't wait for you guys to see what I did the other thing that I realized that I really wanted that I don't have is a Christmas apron and Hobby Lobby has this and I was like are you kidding me like yes of course I need that in my life as a gingerbread apron and what's interesting about this is that it's a hand towel but it's secured like velcro so you can rip it off throw it in the wash and then secure it back on and then I loved that they did the candy cane stripes I had to pick up some ribbon for the Christmas tree and I picked decided on this red check almost like a red gingham I guess it is technically a gingham right I mean you could also call this plot if you wanted to I I would but it's probably a true gingham I picked up another one of these ornaments it's like a little baking sheet and see that this is a gingham oh my gosh focus what are you focusing there we go I found these gems they were just hiding in an aisle that was just kind of random and I decided to get four of these I think look how cute that is it's like your old classic ribbon candy and it was $2.99 so 50% off of that it was basically a dollar fifty it has the little candy at the dangling off I thought that was really cute so I got for those two extremes I just felt like it my as I was taking a look at all of my ornaments I felt like I was seeing a lot of gingerbread but I wanted more sweets too I thought it was just makes sense you know I'm decorating in the kitchen not just delicious looking I don't know what it's my cameras trying to focus on I think it's trying to focus on my lamp in the very last thing which let me tell you I have been agonizing over and over and over it is this ornament now I haven't been agonizing over this ornament I've been agonizing over finding a special ornament so as a tradition every year I get my daughter-in ornament but it can't just be random it doesn't have to have some profound meaning but I want it to symbolize something about us or her and as I was looking through Hobby Lobby I went to Michael's I went to Kohl's because I remember my path like going to Kohl's couple years ago they had an awesome ornament selection I went to close they had nothing I went to the at-home store which is like a holiday superstore galore and I didn't find anything that just had any sort of meaning and then I went back tabhi Lobby and they put out a ton of new ornaments so this is basically a toaster obviously and it's probably toast that's in here but I'm gonna pretend it's a waffle and let me tell you what my daughter loves the Eggo waffles the blueberry ones the ones that you get in the frozen aisle at your grocery store and you pop them in the toaster she puts a little bit of butter some syrup and that girl can have about four or five of those waffles she has been so she has been a little over the top about how she can't have a toaster in her dorm room and how she can't have her waffles and when I found this I thought here it is you know it's been this joke between us now about how she doesn't have a toaster and how next year she'll be living off-campus and she'll have a toaster and I just yeah again no profound meaning but it's just perfect because it's something that's current and I think that she'll completely get it and that's it and that's it you guys thank you for hanging out with me I'm I haven't even been looking at myself to see what I look like in the camera and oh my god but you know what it's real life and this is just this is what happened today so anyway I am gonna get all of the organized into the kitchen get ready to film the makeover I can't wait for you guys to see the living room reveal and the entryway reveal by the way the three videos that are up by now for you to have seen by the time this gets released it's my daughter's bedroom my bedroom and the dining room so I will link those videos down below alright guys have a good night I am going Loxy laying right here and I am gonna go pop in some who's the boss and drink some hot chocolate so anyway see you later youhi guys today or tonight I felt like doing an impromptu haul and by that I mean I had no plans on my list of videos to do this but I've been moving some DIY is around so I think this will be Sunday's video I'm not sure when this is going up but anyway I rarely do this on this channel but I am just no makeup
