The Art of Wrapping Presents: A Fun and Creative Experience

As I sat down to film this wrapping video, I couldn't help but think about how much fun it was going to be. My friend Landon was joining me in the studio, and we were both excited to get creative with some beautiful wrapping paper. One of them, Landon, was sweet and innocent, while I was sweet but definitely not innocent. We started chatting and laughed together, getting into a playful mood.

As we began to unwrap our gifts, we talked about how to create the perfect crease in the paper. I showed my friend how to fold it just right, using tape to secure it in place. "Mind blown," I exclaimed, as the tape folded perfectly onto itself. My friend was impressed and asked if they could get some newspaper and fill in between the layers. We chatted about our plans for the day, including a photo shoot with friends and a potential trip to the forest.

As we continued to wrap, my friend asked me how I created the crease again. I explained that it's all about finding the right spot to fold the paper and using tape to hold it in place. We discussed how important it is to make sure the tape is on both sides of the paper, so that it closes properly. With a few quick folds, our gifts were transformed into beautifully wrapped presents.

Next, we added some ribbon to finish off the look. I showed my friend how to tie a bow and add a knot to give it a more rustic touch. We chatted about our favorite colors, and I mentioned that I was thinking of caramel latte as the perfect shade for this gift. My friend agreed, saying it reminded them of toffee. As we tied off the ribbon, my friend asked if they could put their picture on the wrapping paper. I showed them some pre-signed frames with pictures of loved ones, including a special one from my son Jack.

After finishing up the wraps, we took a moment to appreciate our handiwork and admire the beautiful gift. My friend joked that we were like magicians, creating something beautiful out of nothing. As we packed up the studio, I reminded everyone that they could scan a QR code on the screen to see more photos and updates from us. And as for me, I couldn't wait to sit down with a cup of coffee and indulge in some cookie time – my favorite words.

As I wrapped up the video, I realized how much fun we had together. My friend was being their usual sweet self, and I loved watching them enjoy the process of creating something beautiful. From now on, whenever they think about wrapping presents, they'll remember this fun and creative experience with me. And who knows? Maybe next time, we'll even do it again together!

it has been since the beginning of our Channel now this is like the eth year is it yeah this is one of your first big videos years ago I love this it is one of the very first videos we posted on the channel while we were still living in Copenhagen I'll leave a link for it down below for you guys if you want to check that one out but I've always loved wrapping presents and I just think it's so much fun and as a designer for me I don't like to just design the room I want to design every aspect of it I mean we the minutia of choosing the wrapping papers and the ribbons and how it's going to look with the tree and I have different combinations for different rooms I mean it is an art form I love it I love it so uh wrappy day for us is always so much fun you can see here we've gotten a little bit of a head start with a few of the packages and we are just going to hang out today I'm going to share some of my secrets I always have something new every year there's always some new wrapping paper uh a little new technique or uh new ornaments and we've got it all this time so it's going to be a blast if you are not a subscriber we hope that you will become a subscriber because this is what you can expect on our Channel lots of this lots of this lots of energy and excitement we get this excited about wrapping paper so it really is a lot of fun and it really is just such a festive time and for me I love going through the gifts and choosing the paper that will go with them and I think that when you make that pack I see this every year when the present itself is so beautiful that the recipient says oh it's too beautiful to I don't even want to open you're like yes yes accomplished my task that's what we want we want it to just the the gift itself to the wrapping to be a gift in and of itself that's what we really try for let's jump into this video because I might actually explode from the excitement and this time I won't put an explosion into the video if you watch the other video saw that know what I'm talking about all right I am talking a mile a minute will you help me take the uh plastic off of that one while I show these guys the wrapping paper Supply I got on Amazon this year actually I have a little bit left over from last year it's this has the most amazing pearlescent look to it I found it last year on Amazon and I just freaked out and so I bought a whole bunch of it and I bring it back every single year now because well not every year cuz since the second year we'll make it a second Year tradition you know what I mean you know what I mean then this year I did find this one this one is so cool because it has a wood grain effect on it then I've got this one with a gorgeous geometric pattern on it and those are all from Amazon then I got this one at HomeGoods and I loved that Forest feeling in it with the little bears and it's just so cute then I've got the prettiest TW tissue paper to go inside the packages I bought a really really nice set of boxes like shirt kind of boxes off of Amazon as well I really liked this set because it also comes with really big ones so if you've got bigger sweaters and other things like that this set comes with the that size as well and uh yeah I I will link up all the supplies for you guys down below then I've got a few ribbons these are actually the same ones I used last year I loved them so much but again we're mixing it with different paper so I buy this ribbon in bulk off of Amazon we've got the black ribbon we've got this sort of like hamy toffee kind of color ribbon yeah and then I actually buy these little Tag sets you can buy them if you want to as a little kit on Amazon where they come with the little name tags and the little uh twine with it then I have some absolutely gorgeous gorgeous pictur frame ornaments I've got a slew of supplies here I've got these really nice pine cones which I actually forged out of my own yard then I've got these little mini ornaments that are perfect for the smaller presents and I love the mercury glass like that look at how pretty these are so they're like a velvet kind of flocked ornament and they these have been the rage this year so I will try to link some up that are still in stock now normally I use real foliage and we're going to go do a little foraging out in the yard so I can show you how I clip and how I get the little Greenery for this but the other thing I did want to mention is you could also use the eucalyptus that you find on Amazon that you've been using all year long I sent Jack on an errand you found it I've got the Frasier fur spray and this is one of my favorite additions for the year in addition to the pine cones but I found this on Amazon and what I love is you can Spritz the tissue paper and the boxes with this and all the presents are going to smell on me such a fun idea oh my gosh so yes we are definitely going to be using this in order to make all the presents smell really really festive and that's going to be really fun so uh before we get too far into this shall we go and forage just a moment and get a little bit more of the boxwood and and a little bit maybe of spruce or something yeah okay I love that let's hit the road then and this time we're not going anywhere besides our house come on let's go I've got the coat on I've got the Clippers I've got my little bowl and we are going to go forage outside all right so I am so excited because we have a gorgeous pine tree well actually I don't think the pine tree is all that pretty to be honest but it is absolutely loaded with these amazing Pine coats here com in closer you guys can see look at these These are actually off of the tree itself so I've got some that are this size and then look at this huge one I mean that's magnificent I even ordered some that were like this size so wow I had it sitting in my yard but I haven't seen any that big the rest of the year but yeah I think some smaller pine cones like these are perfect and yeah just leave the to leave the leaves behind we don't need to put those on the presents um but yeah look how pretty these are so cool yeah I love that boxwoods always get a little bit unruly anyways so I always just come in and trim off just these little bits I mean you don't have to trim off a whole I wouldn't trim off the whole uh stem or anything like that but just these little pieces are all you really need and it trims up the bushes so let's see what else we've got up here all right Jack was like take some Spruce I'm like I don't think so I think it's too small to take some yeah uh so let's go out here because I actually planted Cyprus I bought the trees to use indoors was it last year the year before two years and then we put them in the ground and so now I can just trim off of my own bushes to be able to get stuff so let's uh be careful I'm just be careful got to uh get mud on my pants so are they cold and wet they're wet Jack you put them in the rain oh no forgot to oh they're literally swimming in water well that was a bad idea that was my mistake yep well my feet are already wet so we're just going to go with it is really cold that's a great feeling isn't it no that is just messed up oh my God I don't know if I can endure it okay this will be a quick trip then it's going to be super quick you kidding oh my God a look at these poor babies oh they're beautiful yeah they are all right so I'm just going to take gosh these are so nice yeah they're huge could put these in a vase these are gorgeous I can't believe how big these got all right I'm just going to take two they smell really good that's awesome all right yeah these are so pretty yeah so you don't need a lot just a couple little things and uh let's go back inside and start wrapping yay all right well I would say that we did a lot of really good foraging you got some great stuff oh my gosh so fun gorgeous gorgeous stuff let's get wrapping shall we it's the moment I've been waiting for oh you going to wrap I'm going to bust out a rhyme here I'm waiting can't do it all performance issues oh my well our first gift today is actually gorgeous faux deis candle from dipti this is um potentially one of Jack's favorites good thing I have a short memory yes cuz I will not remember getting this does well it comes in this beautiful smoked glass container oh my gosh I know to me I feel like you smell it like it's up in like like a lodge yes don't you think there's warmth would be the word that I would use to describe this I don't know what the actual scents are but it's warmth it's amazing yes so I think I'm going to choose to go with I'm just excited to wrap with this one so I'm going to go with the little Forest Friends clear out a little spot here and do you want to get like the little camera we could show them down yes all right so what do we want to wrap next another present for me do you have any more presents for me that I can see early um cuz I'm totally into those well I know you are so you're getting a little snake PE of another one of your guest oh you've got to be kidding me you've got to be kidding me isn't it beautiful you don't get to try it on though oh my gosh look at this beautiful beautiful jacket from Ralph laen this is from their Polo collection so it's a little bit more affordable uh I love their Purple Label but holy moly the pricing on that is definitely a commitment commitment yeah you're going to need to wear those are Braes so oh my gosh I want I'm ready for Christmas in cold weather I know so what I need to do is get one of the bigger boxes all right so what I like about that set as I was telling you guys is that it comes with these bigger boxes which are perfect for those bulkier items so Jack's getting a little bit of a sneak peek I hope I get some gifts from Ralph Lauren as well uh I I'll definitely leave some links for some of my favorites down in the show so this is kind of perfect cuz we can just put this down into all right so you use two sheets I do especially for one this size um do you want to grab the other camera we'll show how we're doing this PA all right well Jack is having a good day he's getting all kinds of sneak peeks of gorgeous giftsart this is stunning it is so pretty and it's so much fun cuz it's not just paper there's like there's things on it and you like it's you can touch it and see it and smell it you we we'll keep all these things the boxwood especially dries really well so does the Cypress so you can reuse it for Decor you could use it inside of like hurricane candles like and then the pine cones of course definitely keep all those well and like when you use the ornaments then like it it's just so cool because you get more than just a gift you get these takeaways from it which is so cool yes absolutely so there is one more so let's figure out what we're going to wrap next all right now um I'm hoping that I'm getting a s p of one of my presents but we are giving this one away but hopefully I will have one of the these underneath the tree for myself if you were getting one what color would that one be just asking I can't decide the white one and the brown one are so beautiful I just love these blankets we got a nice big box in which to put this into it it is helpful if you did order them because it can be a little bit of a challenge to find a box that's big enough for something like this but I would never put this into a bag no so we've got an Amazon box here and this is going to work so I'm going to fill it with tissue paper still and just I want it to still feel special yeah it will especially when they open it they're going to be like oh my gosh I know and at our house we always say good things come in Amazon packages yes we do everyone's like whoa I got another Amazon box I'm like good things come in Amazon boxes and we all like big boxes and I cannot lie were you saving that yes it's a wrapping thing so I thought I would throw that one out is that considered wrapping when I do it yes oh okay okay all right well let's get this thing going going a all right oh I love that oh my gosh there is our finished wow yeah you're definitely doing all the wrapping this yeah I think even this one's going to be too big to go on our cart back here I so I think you might need to go ahead and put it underneath the tree yay all right this is the electronic diffuser from the white company ooh incredible every's getting this it is absolutely gorgeous so as you can tell we do like to give quite a few home gifts we like to give a lot of Home gifts yes we do but that's because we know that this is a gift that we'll give not only all year but like four years yeah it really will I love this so I think I'm going to go with the geometric paper with this one and let's just knock this one out really quickly all right and go I feel like this video should be narrated like a sports game think about that why is that feel like she has excellent form today oo look at her use of tape oh she's going around the corner will she have enough does she have what it takes look at that line people oh my gosh which is especially hard on a geometric paper which Jack normally avoids yes Jack does for for that reason it did not even occur to me to be worried about that that is hilarious oh that would be that's I would literally have like night terrors about this oh my gosh fold the line I have a shirt made fold the line Shez CH like Braveheart moment well at least Jack can make wrapping paper uh fun fold the line this is this is why our house is never boring on my deathbed F the line I figured when I married him that at least no matter what happened we'd always be laughing that's true I'm not joking even as a 19-year-old I realized that marrying somebody who would always make me laugh would probably mean that we could make it through just without anything so probably look at how gorgeous that is already so um what do we think should we do black on this or should I try that other ribbon try the other ribbon where did I put it she's been using this ribbon uh during the offseason quite a bit and that is true actually it's great for baby showers and weddings and we've heard rumors about her use of this but no one's seen it yet in the in the wild yet you're so silly all right this this really is pretty though isn't it yeah it is all right by the way let's talk about your outfit I just noticed your sleeves you know just noticed my sleeves yeah I mean I'm not they do call me Captain Obvious for a reason I think so uh we're Captain oblivious one of the two I'm so glad we invited him along to bring the extra camera to film downward and now he's just so entertaining that you know I don't know that you're going to get much of the downward view of this I'm sure you guys can figure out how I've just sort of snipped the bow and that's it but Captain Obvious over here is quite the entertainment I need to start wrapping presents with him in the room I know normally I'm by myself this would be so much fun that's why I invited all my friends to hang out with me so I wouldn't have to do it by myself I but I noce your little sleeve like they're so cool soy rle autum I know yeah and wish that would like having the little work on it I know you know when guys used to dress like that I know I think we should go back to that I think we should too I think there's going to be a lot of men that are going to say no but I will say I would do that but I don't want the wig I just realized that if I put the names of the people that I'm giving these to this use madeup Nam this is one say cedc going to say mom on all them Cedric we don't know putting mom we don't know any we don't have any cedrick no we don't jack all right so um let's get an ornament for Mom mom how about one little velvet ones I think that would be really pretty all right there we go guys one more down and that just looks really F excellent form you get 10 out of 10 on that one well I thank you dear I know all right we hope hold that up for a minute I'm going to put them to use here and I can not only is he comic relief but he can also stand in as the muscle I am the muscles guys okay yes see how it's got lines on it so nice when they do have that okay so if you are a newbie like somebody so literally all you have to do is just slide this down from the top see how it's got a little little blade on it and then just put it down the wrapping paper oh my gosh that's it yeah so it is a really cool tool aw I get it maybe in Black yeah that one year I none of my stuff connected so ever since then I've overcompensated just one year you overcompensated okay there's a few things I overcompensate about mhm mm I don't think this is the way the videos in the past went I don't think so I think one of them Landon was in it sweet and innocent he is sweet I'm sweet definitely not innocent GH okay and then see how I created the crease again yes so then I know where to fold it oh my gosh see and just folds right onto it does that make sense mind blown this is like literally being inside your head for a second tape down both sides right you got to make sure the tape is on the top and the bottom so that it closes and then I was going to show them how you can hopefully I didn't cut that too short just then well with all the chitchatting if not I can help solve that problem I'm sure you can get some newspaper and fill in between no the forest friends love that oh no were you chitch oh she's so good you didn't mess it up nope dang it so what I'll do is I'll take this and I'll kind of pull down and get that crease on there because then it's really tight all right so we got some ribbon on here let me go with this gorgeous Gorge gorgeous color I'll leave everything linked up down below for you guys including the gift items that we have been sharing with you today these are the gifts that we are actually giving and I think it's kind of fun to see what people are actually giving sometimes I'm going to tie this one up here at the top and I'm going to be a bit naughty and put a knot into it so this smaller ribbon is a little bit harder to get quite tight yeah what color do you call this I think it's like a camel color I said to toffee earlier do I think little bit more whispy this way and then yeah wispy wispy the I think that the chameleos were too wet for sure to go in here yeah they were wet they're take this big bunch now this has nowhere to really hold it on how you do that so what I'm going to do is I'm going to add a piece of tape and tape that look at you these little picture frames from oh I'm trying not to Blind you it's so bright in here I feel I really love these little picture frames I know should put my picture in there I've got some ready I'm sure Parker would love to have your picture on side stand how nice yeah you're the the best Jack wow not even assign it Dad to your son they're pre-signed I have hundreds of them oh just in case I meet anyone out and they're like can I have your picture yeah you know what they ask every time we see them out you guys always say wow that's that's Jack I hope he has a picture with him I know they do the crowds flock is so hard I hope it's signed well this has definitely been the most interesting and colorful uh wrapping paper video that we've ever done fun let's just do can we do another one I will probably do the rest alone in my room while I watch James Bond but you know you're always invited oh I want to come hang out with you I know I'm just teasing you people actually think I'm serious sometimes I think because I have such a dry humor took me a while to but like she doesn't like me oh my God she loves me I said something in one of our lives and I was like I was really kidding I was like do people think I'm serious no I don't ever think you're serious do
