#### Introduction to Winter Wonder Week
Hello, everyone! It’s Nikki, and I’m back for another exciting episode of *Winter Wonder Wheat Day Three*. This is such an amazing time of the year, filled with holiday cheer, but today, we’re diving into something a bit different. In yesterday's episode, I showed you how to create a stunning dark vampy holiday Christmas makeup look. If you missed it, make sure to click on the screen right now to watch it!
But today’s video is all about something that has been eagerly awaited by my fans since I first mentioned it in a challenge a couple of weeks ago. That’s right—today, we’re tackling the *Bob Ross painting tutorial on my face* challenge!

#### The Never Would I Ever Challenge
Let me take you back to when I did a video called *The Never Would I Ever Makeup Challenge*. In that video, I asked my viewers what look they thought I would *never ever* do in my life. The responses were hilarious and creative, but the top two suggestions were overwhelming:
1. **The Grinch** (which eventually won due to an Instagram poll).
2. **Following a Bob Ross painting tutorial on my face**, which came in as a close second with intense runner-up votes.
Since then, I’ve received countless messages asking me to finally go through with it. Many of you mentioned that *Jenna Marbles* did something similar by following a Bob Ross tutorial on an actual painting, but today, I’m taking it one step further—I’m painting my face!

#### Who Is Bob Ross?
For those who might not know, let me introduce you to the legend that is **Bob Ross**. Robert Norman Ross was an American painter, art instructor, and television host. He was the creator and host of *The Joy of Painting*, an instructional TV program that aired from 1983 to 1994.
Bob’s show was all about teaching viewers how to paint beautiful landscapes, often with a focus on serene nature scenes filled with mountains, forests, and skies. His calm, soothing voice and positive demeanor made him a beloved figure in the art world—and honestly, it’s no surprise that makeup artists have found inspiration in his teachings!

#### Researching for the Challenge
I wanted to make sure I nailed this challenge, so I spent some time researching Bob Ross’s techniques and famous tutorials. One of my favorite things about his approach is how he starts with a clean white canvas, slicks it down with liquid white, and then builds up the painting step by step.
While doing research for this video, I even fell asleep at 6 AM while watching *The Joy of Painting*. Bob’s voice is incredibly soothing, and honestly, it might be to blame for my early-morning nap!

#### The Painting Process Begins
Today, I decided to follow Bob Ross’s ocean breeze tutorial from Season 10, Episode 5. Let me walk you through how I recreated this iconic seascape on my face:
1. **Base Preparation**:
Just like Bob does with his canvas, I started by applying a liquid white base. This step is crucial because it ensures that the colors blend smoothly and stay in place. However, unlike Bob’s canvas, my “canvas” has a tendency to crease, so I had to be extra careful during this process.
2. **Creating the Sky**:
Using phthalo blue and midnight black, I mixed the colors and applied them with crisscross strokes to mimic the look of the ocean. Bob’s technique involves keeping the base wet, which allows for smooth blending—something that definitely took some practice on my part!
3. **Adding Clouds**:
To create the fluffy little clouds, I switched to a fan brush and titanium white paint. This step was tricky because, as one of my viewers pointed out, “it doesn’t look like clouds or Skype.” Despite the challenges, I managed to add some texture and dimension to give it that classic Bob Ross feel.
4. **Tying in the Eyes**:
While working on the seascape, I also wanted to incorporate a bit of glam into the look. I used a bright blue eyeshadow and a touch of pink above my nose line to tie my eyes into the overall aesthetic.

#### The Final Touches
Once the sky and clouds were in place, it was time to bring in the ocean waves. Bob’s technique involves creating a black base for the water and then adding highlights to give it depth. I carefully applied black paint along the perimeter of my “canvas” and then added tiny strokes to mimic the texture of waves.
While I didn’t end up with a perfect replica of Bob Ross’s painting, I’m proud of how it turned out! It looks like a dark, wintry, icy lake—complete with clouds and mountains in the distance.

#### Dutch Word of the Day
Before we wrap things up, let’s dive into today’s *Dutch Word of the Day*. Last episode, I taught you the Dutch word for “Santa,” which was **“balkenmaker”**. This week, I’ve got another fun one for you: **“volk”**, which means “cloud.”
Here’s how to say it:
- *Vol-k* (rhymes with “folk”).
If you want to be featured in my next video, leave a comment below using the Dutch word of the day or create your own video response on Instagram under the hashtag **#DutchWordOfTheDay**. I’d love to see what you come up with!
