Patriot Peripherals - Viper V560 Laser Gaming Mouse & Viper V360 7.1 Headset

The V560 Viper Gaming Mouse: A Comprehensive Review

As I began to unbox and examine the Patriots V560 Viper gaming mouse, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and curiosity. The first thing that caught my attention was the headset that came with it, which felt comfortable and had a nice soft touch to it. However, as soon as I started using the mouse, I realized that this was another story altogether.

The V560 Viper gaming mouse is a very nice attempt at creating a high-quality gaming peripheral. The mouse feels comfortable in my hand, with a plethora of buttons that provide a lot of functionality. The DPI settings are also customizable, allowing me to adjust the sensitivity of the mouse to suit my needs. Furthermore, the mouse comes with profiles that can be customized using the Patriots software, which is available on their website.

One of the standout features of the V560 Viper gaming mouse is its laser sensor, which uses the Patriots' Extreme Sensor technology to provide accurate and precise tracking. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the mouse performed in terms of accuracy, with no issues or hiccups during my testing. The DPI switch on the side of the mouse allows for easy adjustments, and the LED lights on the back can be set to different colors depending on the profile mode selected.

The mouse also comes with a customizable finger rest that can be extended outward when needed. This feature is particularly useful, as it provides a comfortable resting place for my fingers while gaming. The weight system is also adjustable, allowing me to customize the feel of the mouse to suit my preferences. I opted to add all the weights available, which made the mouse feel quite heavy and substantial in the hand.

The V560 Viper gaming mouse comes with nine programmable buttons, which provide a lot of flexibility and customization options. The buttons are also positioned in a way that makes them easy to access, even when using a large number of profiles. Overall, I was impressed by the level of functionality and customization available on this mouse.

From an aesthetic standpoint, the V560 Viper gaming mouse has a sleek and modern design that is sure to appeal to gamers who want a high-quality look without going overboard. The black and red color scheme is not too flashy or attention-seeking, but it's certainly eye-catching and provides a professional-looking appearance. The build quality of the mouse is also impressive, with a solid feel that suggests a durable and long-lasting product.

Overall, I was very pleased with the Patriots V560 Viper gaming mouse, and I think it would be an excellent choice for gamers who are looking for a high-quality mouse without breaking the bank. While there may be some minor improvements that could be made in future iterations, such as tweaking the microphone or experimenting with different sensors, the V560 Viper is a solid product that is sure to please.

One of the things that did strike me during my testing was the sound quality of the microphone. While it's not bad by any means, I found that it could be improved upon in certain situations. The microphone feels solid and well-built, but it doesn't quite have the same level of clarity or detail as some other high-end microphones on the market.

The only real complaint I have with the V560 Viper gaming mouse is that the weight system could potentially be more effective in terms of providing a customized feel to the mouse. While I did enjoy having all the weights available, it would be nice if there were more options for customization down the line. Additionally, some users may find the finger rest too small or uncomfortable at times.

Despite these minor quibbles, the Patriots V560 Viper gaming mouse is an excellent product that is sure to please gamers who are looking for a high-quality mouse without breaking the bank. With its customizable profiles, programmable buttons, and advanced laser sensor technology, this mouse is well-suited for a wide range of gaming applications. Whether you're playing competitive FPS games or casual titles, the V560 Viper is sure to provide an excellent experience.

In conclusion, the Patriots V560 Viper gaming mouse is a solid product that is worth considering for gamers who are looking for a high-quality mouse. While there may be some minor improvements that could be made in future iterations, this mouse is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their gaming setup. With its advanced features and sleek design, the V560 Viper is sure to provide years of reliable service and performance.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enOctober 22nd 2015 you know they may not have gotten the entirety of the future correct as far as predictions but I can tell you what your future is going to be you're going to buy one of these shirts and you're going to enjoy it so soft all right guys so quick video today we're going to take a look at some peripherals by Patriot yeah they're entering the peripheral Market with they do have a keyboard as well by the way but I don't have that on hand they have a headset and a mouse so let's go ahead and take a look at the headset first this is the Viper headset gaming headset to be precise uh v360 so to quickly go over the geeky specs you're look at at 7.1 surround comes with this ubr switch for their Ultra base response we're going to talk about that though in a little bit LED switch as well volume wheel everything's going to be here on the left cup frequency response for the drivers themselves is going to be from 20 HZ to uh 20 khz impedance 32 ohms at 1 khz there sensitivity 105 DB plus orus 3 DB the main drivers in here are 40 mm neodymium drivers the sub drivers that's right that's where you get your uh base response from are 30 mm cable length which is braid it by the way is going to be 2.2 M or 7 ft net weight if you want to know it doesn't weigh that much 700 wow what 360 G it's pretty lightweight I mean it looks robust but it doesn't weigh that much and it does connect by a single USB so one good thing about the USB not a whole lot of interference in the sound especially through the mic but uh we're going to talk about quality in a moment the microphone as I said is foldable comes in and out like that it is omnidirectional 100 HZ to about 10 khz on the response there so there the geeky specs on that as far as looks and feel they look they don't look overly done in like this huge gaming aesthetic but they do have a gaming look to them just not I call this pretty decent like if I don't know if it had more jaget I just and all kinds of other crap I consider that overdone but I like what they've done here and the strap up here by the way I have worn it for uh about an hour or two at a time and it's pretty comfortable because like I said it doesn't weigh that much so it doesn't even have a whole lot of padding here at all basically but it is pretty comfortable now the only thing is and this goes for any headset headphones depending on the uh foam whether it's memory foam or whatnot on the material here which is kind of a little soft fabric if you will it um yeah you're probably going to sweat after a little bit an hour or so it's going to get kind of warm on you they do surround the ear they call this open back um I want to say semiopen actually I can see right through it so I guess it is kind of open back so again looks wise you got this kind of red and black theme going on uh you know not a whole lot of red which is nice you know it's mostly black just have the Viper you know Patriot Viper logo right over here a little bit of red the switches are red so clearly they stand out a little bit more I mean they're facing behind you anyway you're not looking at your headset half the time anyway you're freaking wearing it so relax and for the price point that these come in you know Aesthetics wise they're they're nice they uh they're not as expensive as a Kingston Cloud but uh they they're they're not overly overstated or understated they they're nice uh in between there with their looks and I like it you got a nice Viper logo over here by the way and as for durability look at this ah I don't want to do any more than that and I wouldn't recommend doing this anyway so so looking at the switches you have the ubr response switch here we're going to talk about in a second you have your volume wheel and you have an LED switch so you want to flip it on it doesn't respond to noise really it's not going to like flash like with base I kind of thought I was going to do that at first but no it's just a steady red LED you know um light that emits from either side of the cups it's nice it's up to you if you want to have it on or not it's no big deal now soundwise guys you know I'm not an audio file by any stretch I don't consider myself that's kind of a label and like oh I know audio better than you do I'm whatever man it's all subjective Everyone likes different everyone's tastes differ what you hear may not be what I hear your sensitivity to certain frequencies whatever but it does sound decent for the price I'd say it's good enough I've had some cheaper headsets you know $ 20 $30 cheaper than this that sound just slightly lesser than this I mean this is not blowing them out of the water but for a good entry-level headset and for their first try to headset I think it's pretty good but the one Achilles heel I think again just completely my opinion the ubr switch the ultrabase response that I was talking about it claims that it enables the you know embedded uh little Subs in there the little subwoofers in there sub how do you call these little things subwoofers but I don't know okay they're subwoofers uh and okay I expected the base to be just a little bit boier a little more full perhaps you know enveloping my face with low frequencies but uh I was listening some to some EDM some synth wave stuff even the news VI handra which you guys should look into but I flip on the switch in the middle of a song and my head was vibrating yeah vibrating now guys I'm exaggerating a little bit but my head kind of did feel like it was vibrating not in the good way not like you just flipped on some huge 24in sub in the living room and your house is shaking kind of low end no it feels like they took and I'm I'm not sure but but it feels like you know how your cell phone has that little module in there that vibrates it literally moves to vibrate your phone when you get a message coming through or it's just part of your ringtone that adds a vibration as well that's what it feels like on certain songs but only on my face now that wasn't really all that enjoyable and all that Pleasant I mean maybe a on a song with not so much boomy bass maybe it won't feel like my face is vibrating but uh it doesn't really increase the low end the frequency for me it feels like it's just adding like a rumble Pack to my face like I feel like I'm really uh crapping on the headset but it's not a bad headset I would just say that maybe they can do a better implementation this in the future but it doesn't seem to be doing it for me like I'm getting enough low end as it is with the switch off it's fine so guys looking into the quality of the microphone here's a test for you guys to see how we rather here how it sounds and overall it just it's a bit flat it's not that great it's not awesome it's not horrible but you can understand me you can use it for games clearly and you know Skype calls whatever you want I mean it's not going to sound studio quality a lot of headsets are like that unless you want to go ahead and get a more custom option like you know mod mic put on your more premium headphones like that but nonetheless foldable design it sounds all right bit flat on the response even though it is omnidirectional doesn't sound as full as I'd like it to be but also being that it's USB you're not going to get as much interference in the signal you know through the 3.5 mm Jack that you would normally use in the front of your PC with most headsets so you're going to be at least eliminating the interference there but here's the sound of that so you guys can check it out all right so this is the test on the v360 gaming headset by Patriot 1 2 3 4 5 one time I forgot to tie my shoes so I tripped and I fell in a puddle of chocolate and why there was a puddle of chocolate there to begin with I have no idea uh maybe it wasn't chocolate so yeah this is the Patriot headset v360 so yeah I mean that's about the one thing that I might one my one gripe with this headset other than that it's a good attempt aside from that and it feels good and yeah they work out man so let's go ahead and talk about the mouse so here we have the mouse the v560 Viper gaming mouse this thing is another story this is a very nice attempt uh I think they really you know passed them with flying colors with this one coming into the peripheral Market because it's comfortable it's got that nice soft touch kind of feel again to it you have a plethora of buttons you have DPI settings you have profiles customizable profiles you will be having to look for their uh software so V visit uh Patriots website there if you want to tinger with more more profiles like that you get up to an 8200 DPI laser uh sensor this is using their I presume it's theirs their extreme sensor this is not naago sensor so so far accuracy how it feels how it's responding as I have no issues with that maybe uh one of my others with a naago sens is a little bit more exact but it's not getting me killed in games or anything I'm not complaining about my cursor going off on another screen when I want it to go that way or something I'm not having any hiccups so it's working out pretty good you have your DPI switch here which is going to increase with the LED here up to 8200 or whatever other profiles you want to set you have profile modes here which is going to change your uh LED on the back from red blue purple and green does have another braided cable terminates in USB of course and then down here you have a little button that's going to extend outward it's going to pop out your customizable finger rest you get two of them by the way I kept the one that was already on it you have one that's also going to rest your pinky and your ring finger so use whichever is more comfortable for you but the button also around here once you take that off is going to reveal the little weight system adjustable weights I put all the weights in here because I kind of I don't know I guess I like my mouse to be heavy I don't know I guess it never really thought about it like do I prefer my mouse to be light as a feather or heavy I just put them all in there I guess whatever and down here you don't get polyurethane pads or anything like that but Fe you get ceramic so this is going to be lightning fast for uh you want to play CS goo just go off the hinges with this thing it's going to be gliding like there's no tomorrow and a nice soft Mouse patter or something like this you guys know where to go go to the door now buttons you get nine programmable buttons in total on this puppy so overall guys it is a pretty nice Mouse again with the black and red aesthetic there gaming look but not overly done I like it it's not crazy Transformer looking it's not like that you know mad cats thing that came out years ago or something that I some like that hey there's there's something out there for everybody but I like things that are more subdued minimalistic I mean this has a gaming look but it's not crazy either it's something like dude it's like something sci-fi which you like I said Everyone likes their thing it feels really nice it Glides look at that wo woo it's like table hockey look at that look at look at this gliding it's like table hockey don't do this though if it's broken then you can use it as a table hockey thing but if it works use it properly yeah so overall guys that's it this has been uh a look at Patriots you know entrance into the peripheral environment if you will their uh v360 headset v560 gaming mouse and overall yeah I like it a few things that they could probably improve in the next iterations if they'd like the microphone how it sounds the uh Mouse overall I think is great um maybe they can experiment later with other sensors but I don't think they really need to on the sensors not really giving me any crap and the guys the ubr better implementation of that next time probably but I I see what you're going through going for maybe
