The Monitor Review: A Comprehensive Look at the Latest Gaming Display
As I set up my new gaming monitor, I couldn't help but feel excited to put it through its paces. With a range of features and settings to explore, I was eager to see how this display would perform in different scenarios.
One of the first things that caught my eye was the adjustable tilt angle, which ranged from -5° to 22°. This level of adjustability is perfect for finding the ideal viewing position, whether you're sitting close or far away from the screen. The swivel angle, ranging from +30° to -3°, provides an even wider range of options for adjusting the monitor's orientation.
But what really sets this display apart is its ability to flip and switch between portrait mode. This feature is a game-changer when using a secondary monitor in portrait mode, allowing you to easily switch between different orientations without having to physically adjust the screen. With so many settings at your disposal, it's clear that Lenovo has put a lot of thought into creating a display that caters to a wide range of user needs.
Speaking of features, I was particularly impressed by the monitor's refresh rate capabilities. Reaching up to 250Hz, this display offers an incredibly smooth gaming experience, perfect for high-speed games like Forza Horizon 5. With frame rates averaging around 260-300 FPS at 1440p, it's clear that this monitor is more than capable of handling even the most demanding titles.
But what about HDR? Thankfully, this display supports HDR and allows users to adjust various settings, including color profiles, brightness levels, and saturation. By experimenting with different presets, I was able to find a setting that worked perfectly for my preferences – a bright display with deep blacks. It's clear that Lenovo has included a range of features designed to enhance the overall viewing experience.
Another feature worth mentioning is the DCR (Display Color Range) color gamut. With multiple profiles available, users can tailor their settings to suit different devices and applications. This level of flexibility is a major plus for anyone looking for a display that can adapt to their specific needs.
In terms of speakers, I was pleased to find that this monitor comes with two 3-watt speakers. While not as powerful as some dedicated speaker systems, they provide clear and crisp sound without excessive bass. It's worth noting that most users will likely opt for an external speaker setup instead.
For my final test, I ran Spider-Man remastered at high frame rates using the Frame Gen feature. Even with the monitor running at 1440p, this display still managed to deliver smooth performance, averaging around 170-201 FPS depending on the scene. It's clear that this display is capable of handling even the most demanding titles.
In conclusion, my experience with this gaming display has been overwhelmingly positive. With its impressive range of features, adjustability, and capabilities, it's clear that Lenovo has created a truly exceptional product. Whether you're a serious gamer or simply looking for a high-quality display for general use, I highly recommend giving this monitor a try.
As I wrap up my review, I want to leave some links to Lenovo's website in case any readers are interested in purchasing the display or learning more about its features and specifications. Additionally, I'd love to hear from any questions or comments you may have – feel free to reach out in the comments below!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's going on everybody it's ETA Prime back here again today we're going to be taking a look at the new Lenovo Legion y27 qf3 this is a 250 HZ 27in 1440p gaming monitor that I recently got my hands on and I've been using it for the past few days you might have actually seen it in a couple of my previous videos and overall this thing has been pretty awesome now inside of the Box we're obviously going to get the monitor you get the stand couple cables here in there like a display port cable we've also got a USB cable because this does have USB ports built in and one of the big reasons I wanted to pick this up was the overall look down here at the bottom where our cables pass through we've got a little blue accent it's kind of industrial SL gaming I love the back area here and right over here we've got that Legion branding personally I think it kind of sets it off I just really do like the look of this thing taking a look at the overall I/O down here we've got two usba a ports and a usbb port full size display port and two HDMI ports and over here on this side we've got two more full-size USB ports and a 3.5 mm audio ja when it comes to the usbb port on this monitor it does come with a cable and what we're going to do here is just plug that into our PC that way we have access to all four USB ports on the monitor itself they've made it really easy to interface with the monitor's OSD so we can control every parameter back here we've got our power button our up and down buttons and we've also got a control knob so it's really easy to adjust that OSD and when it comes to the overall specs here obviously we've got a 27in display here with a resolution of 2560 x400 250 HZ refresh rate 0.5 millisecond response time it's 99% srgb 90% DCI P3 dual 3 watt speakers and I'll tell you with a lot of these monitors you really can't hear them this thing gets much louder than I thought it would and of course this does support free snc so we don't have to worry about tearing another reason I was really interested in this monitor was the overall adjustability we've got a till angle of -5° to 22° swivel angle of + 30° to -3° and we can flip the whole screen and go into portrait mode this comes in really handy for having a secondary monitor in portrait mode and basically no matter how you want to adjust this it's got you covered this monitor is going to be going in with my personal gaming setup and recently I built this fractal design PC I got an RTX 470 TI super great for 1440p gaming and I didn't need anything like 4K that's why I went with 14 40p but I also wanted that really high refresh rate remember this comes in up to 250 HZ and super low response time of 0.5 milliseconds we're going to take a look at a couple games running in just a second but overall I think the picture quality here is great I've got it set up obviously at 1440p taking a look at the OSD menu it does support HDR and we've got a lot of settings that we can use here and if you want to go with one of these presets most of them do look really good but I like a bright display with deep black so I fully adjusted this and going into the menu a bit deeper you can see that yeah you can adjust HDR we've got an over boost feature basically if you want to get through here and adjust that color profile to the way you like not a problem with this setup DCR color gam and we can actually set up different profiles for each of the ports on the unit even if you wanted to go with two HDMI devices plugged in it's going to remember exactly what setting you use for HDMI 1 and 2 obviously gam playay is it's going to look a lot different in real life uh you know capturing the screen or recording the screen and then uploading it to YouTube really never does it justice but I still wanted to show off a couple of games that I've been playing on this unit and the first one is Forza Horizon 5 this is one of those games I love a really high refresh rate of course it's not necessary but with this setup here I can run Forza Horizon 5 anywhere from 260 up to 300 FPS at 1440p and with this monitor coming in with a 250 HZ refresh rate I mean it's smooth Smo than anything that I've seen this is definitely looking amazing and of course if we had a 4K screen we could go up to 4K but 1440 to 4K in my opinion on a good display I personally can't tell much of a difference and this thing looks amazing and another thing I mentioned were the speakers so it's got two 3 watt speakers and usually it's an afterthought adding speakers to a gaming monitor most people are going to have a speaker setup I don't use one I usually just use you know my monitor speakers and this thing does get pretty loud not much base to it but it's pretty clear and it's a lot better than most of the other monitors that I've tested in the past another one that I think looks really great at a high refresh rate especially while swinging through the city is Spider-Man remastered and right now I've got this game set up with frame gen totally maxed out at 1440p and with frame gen on even though we're not at 250 HZ continuously this is still super smooth because I'm seeing averages anywhere from 170 up to 2011 and yeah I mean it definitely feels really great on this display I think 27 in is kind of a sweet spot there especially for a nice little desk setup and this is going to pair up perfectly with my fractal design build so overall in the last few days I've actually tested quite a few devices with this monitor here from laptops desktops mini PCS and even handh houses the Lenovo Legion go does look pretty decent on this but of course we've got an igpu there and you'll need an adapter to go to HDMI or display port but overall really love the color gamut they have here and I have gone through and adjusted it just a bit I've upu that saturation up the brightness on them I love a really bright display oversaturated just a bit in those super deep blacks 250 HZ refresh rate 27in display here with a 0.5 millisecond response time this thing is awesome and I can highly recommend this for your gaming setup but that's going to wrap it up for this video just wanted to give you a quick look at this thing if you're interested in picking one up or just learning a little more I will leave some links down down below to lenovo's website if
