Apple Airpods Review! (1 month later)

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's going on everyone TCH me out here and I'm going to be talking about a subject that I think a lot of you might be interested in and that is Apple's new airpods so these headphones are priced at $160 and have left many to wonder if it's even worth the price tag what's the height behind them what can they do what can they not do or rather not do so well so basically in this video I seek to cover all of that if you're excited about that are you just like my content in general you can go ahead and hit that like button down below without any further Ado let's talk so the first thing on the list of course is design what you can expect is a small compact hard shell plastic case and at the bottom you'll find a lightning Port as the case can be recharged and then inside what you'll find are apples airpods so the airpods Comfort wise and design wise really resemble that of your you know typical Apple earpods without the cable they fit the same they look the same so if you're kind of wondering what you can expect with these that's pretty much as close of a comparison that I can possibly think of so with this case you basically flip it open and inside you'll see the airpods and an LED indicator now this LED indicator is a visual way to represent your battery life without really having to look at anything else so I like that design aspect um the one thing though I did not like is that this charging case was pretty much a lint magnet to me so I would find myself putting this in my pocket I'd pull it out open it up to grab a airod and then I would kind of see some lint sitting there so I felt a little bit OCD so to speak in trying to keep that area clean so yeah now one thing that I did like about the case is this right here that whole you know opening and closing of the case is really like pretty much clicking a ballpoint pen you will find yourself like that all the time I literally have to kind of like just put the case down when I'm on the phone or listening to music otherwise I find myself just sitting there clicking the case all the time and then speaking of clicking the case there is a magnet found inside as well so that's going to help especially in scenarios where you're walking and you're trying to search your airpods into the case instead of fumbling with them to get it in there you'll find that the magnet is strong enough to pretty much guide them into the airpod case and pull them in for you so I really like that because often times if it wasn't for that when I'm walking I'd probably end up dropping them but that really helped you know make sure that they go in the case and not the ground but overall it's very small it's probably smaller than your palm and it can fit comfortably in your pocket or anywhere else that you probably want to store as you're out and about so the airpods produce a really rich sound much better than Apple's earpods I know some people felt they might sound similar to Apple's Earp pods but they sound a lot better um much more rich in terms of Base mids and highs everything is pretty much balanced especially if you're listening to anything with a lot of vocals those to me sound the best on these not to say anything on the low end doesn't sound good but I think these are really geared towards music genres like that but they do sound a lot better than the regular ear pods and they should because they're a lot more than the regular earpods pods so when they're in your ear I'm happy to say you can safely shake your head and not have to worry about them falling out you can work out and they will even stay comfortably in your ear during scenarios like that however of course they're not perfect so if you do find that you need a little bit of additional security to keep them in your ear these ear hooks that I purchased off of Amazon works pretty good for me that way you have a security blanket so to speak if you need it I'm going to link these down below for you if you want them but just keep in mind with these on the airpods you can't put the airpods in the case so that's kind of the setback of it but to gain a better fit for your ear if you're having trouble in that area these are ideal so the thing about some headphones like these is that they lack a cable of any form therefore you lose the media control button that's typically found on the cable of regular Bluetooth headphones instead of it having a media control button it has smart features built into it like the ability to be listening to music or watching a video and you remove a airpod and the media instantly stops playing or even if you're on a phone call I found out if you remove the airpods the audio will then be rerouted back to your phone so there's certain things like that that are built into the airpods to make the functionality of them better but if you don't like it you can go into the settings of your phone and just reconfigure this to something that you do like but even with all the configurations in there there's one that you just can't change and that's how you adjust the volume so to adjust the volume you have to call up Siri and ask her to turn down the volume for you and me and Siri don't always have the best conversations so sometimes that's a bit frustrating for me therefore most of the time instead of calling Siri up I personally find that I just grab my device and manually turn it down but I would have loved a way for the airpods to incorporate some type of function where I could just touch them and turn the volume down I don't know if that was just completely out of the scope of what Apple could have done but in the next generation of the airpods if that feature could be thrown in there oh my God that would really Elevate these to the next level but I love the range and the connection I could put my phone in my pocket or put my phone in a hole another the room and not have to worry about any interference at all and the fact that these have apples do W1 chip pairing was just super easy so I literally opened the case my phone instantly discovered that there was some airpods nearby and from there I was just connected but in contrast to that I did find that it wasn't as easy to connect to my MacBook but once the pairing initialized on every device oh was beautiful from there and being able to go from my phone to my computer and just pretty much clicking on an icon to instantly connect my airpods to the device that I wanted to have them connected to there's some other cool features baked into the airpods such as the option to check your battery via notification center you can see not only the battery life of the case but also of each individual airpod and you can see the headphone symbol up in the top right when the airpods are connected but I just wish that you had like a battery gauge so that you could always see the battery life up there in the top right with the headphone symbol versus always having to go to the notification center to get a percentage and then speaking of the battery I found the one on the airpods to be fantastic so with your typical Bluetooth headphones you probably have to charge them every night or every other day or somewhere around that range but with with these you could probably charge these once a week or once every few days so the thing about these is that even though the airpods may only have a 5H hour battery life the case I want to say has a 24-hour battery life and if I'm wrong I'm going correct myself in the video but that's the unique thing about these with other Bluetooth headphones you don't have a case to charge the battery up while you're out and about you either plug them into a wall or a portable power bank or your battery is pretty much depleted where as these have pretty much a part of the design a way to charge the airpods when they're not in use so that is a really Standalone unique feature that I love about this so with all of that said if you're wondering if I recommend these yeah I do the W1 chip is awesome I mean compared to Bluetooth I would much much rather use this type of way to pair my devices together to the headphones that I seek to use the battery is another key selling feature like I said you got the case to charge your battery while you're out and about you don't have to bring a portable power bank or anything extra as the airpod case is pretty much you know hand inand with the design so 9 times out of 10 you're going to have the airpod case with you the airpods are also super comfortable so there were multiple times and I kid you not I'm not hyping this up there were multiple times where I would have my airpods in and forget that they were even in my ear the reason that I would remember that they were in my ear is that everything would kind of sound just a little bit lower than I thought it should be and then I'm like oh yeah my airpods are in my ear the case is super small and I'm not going to lie I have lost this case on more than one occasion but aside from that I just got to be more mindful of where I place it so these are pretty much my go-to headphones that I use every day for General use I use used them when I was traveling to CES um I used them when I'm out and about when I'm walking when I work out just pretty much any casual use that I would normally grab my other headphones for I grab these so I have more Pros than cons to say about these therefore they get my stamp of recommendation if you're considering buying a pair of Apple airpods if you also own them let sound the best on these not to say anything on the low end doesn't sound good but I think these are really geared towards music genres like that but they do sound a lot better than the regular ear
