The In 30 Wireless Mouse: A Retro Gaming Accessory Review
As an avid retro gamer and content creator, I was excited to get my hands on the In 30 wireless mouse, which promises to bring a nostalgic touch to gaming with its design inspired by the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Upon unboxing, I was impressed by the attention to detail in the mouse's design, particularly the colors, which matched the original NES perfectly. The package also included a mouse pad, available for purchase on the 8-bit though website, priced at $0.99 with the purchase of the In 30 Mouse.
The In 30 Wireless Mouse is a non-rechargeable device that runs on a single double-A battery and features a 2.4 gigahertz USB dongle. It supports Mac, Windows, or Linux operating systems and comes equipped with a 1,000 DPI sensor. One of the notable features of this mouse is its d-pad, which can be programmed to perform various functions using RetroArch on Mac or Linux. The mouse also includes two buttons and a touch scroll wheel, making it suitable for general gaming use.
For my review, I decided to put the In 30 Wireless Mouse to the test with retro games from various consoles, including Gameboy, NES, and SNES. Using RetroArch, I pre-programmed the mouse to work with popular games like Tetris for Gameboy, Adventure Island 2 for NES, and Super Street Fighter for SNES. While testing these games, I was able to utilize the mouse's features, such as holding down the B button to run in Adventure Island 2 or using the d-pad to navigate through levels.
One of the standout aspects of the In 30 Wireless Mouse is its d-pad technology, which feels similar to that of an NES controller. The rubber membrane underneath the left and right click buttons provides a smooth tactile experience. However, I did encounter some challenges with certain games, particularly those requiring precise button presses or special moves in Super Street Fighter.
Despite these minor issues, I was generally impressed with the In 30 Wireless Mouse's performance and value for its intended use as a retro gaming accessory. While it may not be suitable for serious gamers seeking high-performance devices, it offers an affordable way to enhance the retro gaming experience. For fans of retro games like myself, this mouse is well worth considering.
For those interested in purchasing the In 30 Wireless Mouse, I recommend checking out the 8-bit though website or Amazon, where it can be found with free shipping for $24.99. Keep in mind that shipping costs may apply when purchased from other retailers. Overall, the In 30 Wireless Mouse is a fun and functional accessory that brings a touch of nostalgia to retro gaming, and I'm excited to see how it will continue to evolve as a gaming peripheral.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys the CTA Prime back here again today we're gonna be taking a look at the all new 8-bit though in 30 wireless mouse now this was announced last week and I had to jump right on it they usually do send over their controllers for review but I didn't even wait for it this time I went ahead and purchased this with my own funds so the whole look and feel of the in 30 mouse was designed by Daniel Janssen over at switch and lever 8-bit doe contacted him and started the production of the in 30 wireless mouse now obviously the design was based on the original Nintendo and I personally really loved this thing down to the colors they matched the color of the original NES perfectly and if you're wondering about this mouse pad here this was available on their website for $0.99 with the purchase of the in 30 Mouse the price on the mouse itself is $24.99 but if you order it from the 8-bit though website you will have to pay shipping on that so it does get on up there I think I paid around $40 to get this to my house but it is available on Amazon right now with free prime shipping for $24.99 so this thing is non rechargeable and it doesn't have Bluetooth built in it runs on a single double-a battery and it comes with a 2.4 gigahertz USB dongle and it'll work with Mac Windows or Linux and by the way the d-pad on the side does work as a 4-way button we have page up page down left and right so this can be programmed with retroarch on Mac or Linux now I know this is a mouse and it's really hard to review a mouse as a mouse I mean overall it works great we have the left click right click for buttons on the side we also have that touch scroll wheel in the middle there 2.4 gigahertz comes with that dongle runs on a double-a battery and it's a thousand dpi so yeah for its intended use as a mouse it works great but I do a lot of retro gaming on my channel and this is very retro themed so I figured I'd go ahead and see if we could play some retro games using retro arch with the in 30 mouse so I'm not gonna get too complicated with it because all we really have here is two buttons and a d-pad so we're gonna be testing out some game boys some NES and then we'll throw a little bit of SNES at it I'm using retro arch and I have pre-programmed the mouse inside of retro arch unfortunately a lot of these games do require pressing the start button and I don't have any extra buttons on the mouse so I'm using enter on the keyboard first up we have some Tetris for Gameboy I'm gonna see if I can clear at least one line with this thing so one thing I got to say about a pedo is they've come a long way with their d-pads and they're using that same technology here it does have that pivot in the middle and it feels just like an NES d-pad on the side of this thing and they're also using a rubber membrane underneath the left and the right click on the mouse so it feels just like an NES controller alright so that's it for Tetris we're gonna back out of here and we'll get into an NES game one of my favorites Adventure Island 2 so for this one here I'm not even gonna pick up the stone weapon at the beginning or the skateboard I just want to see if I can clear this level I can hold the B button to run and press the a button to jump and I'm not sure if I'm gonna make it here oh yeah got it I should be good to go as long as I can clear these birds at the end here and there we have it so I was able to get through the first level I'm not even gonna attempt the second level with this mouse but I did want to test one SNES game before I get out of here and this is gonna be kind of a challenge I got Super Street Fighter to roll in here I want to see if I can pull off some special moves I have not attempted this yet so I'm not sure how it's going to go I'm pretty sure I'll be destroyed here oh yeah this is hard pulling these moves off I might have to pick this oh there we go I got one but I might have to pick this thing up with two hands to get some specials all so yeah that was really hard with a single hand but I still want to test it out one more time I think I can get the hang of it there we go two in a row so that's pretty much it for this video guys I really appreciate you watching I just wanted to give you a quick look at the in 30 wireless mouse I personally think it's well worth twenty-five dollars but don't expect to be getting a gaming mouse or anything like that this is just a run-of-the-mill 1,000 dpi 2.4 gigahertz mouse that happens to look like an NES controller if you're interested in picking one up I will leave a link in the description and if you have any questions just let me know in the comments below but like always thanks for watching youhey guys the CTA Prime back here again today we're
