New Official Youtube App Review & How To Install & Use on iOS 6

Introducing the New YouTube App for iOS 6: A Hands-On Review

Hey guys, it's Apple Pro here and I'm making this video to address all of those people out there who are wondering where the YouTube app went on iOS 6. I want to show you around the new YouTube app and let you know that you can download it in the App Store, which is currently ranked as one of the top three apps right now, absolutely free.

The Reason for the Disappearance of the Old YouTube App

Unfortunately, the old YouTube app was no longer available on iOS 6 due to Apple's contract with YouTube having ended. However, the new YouTube app was released in the App Store by YouTube itself, so there's no need to worry about missing out on your favorite videos. I personally think that this change has been a good thing, as the new app works even better than the old one and loads videos faster and clearer.

The New YouTube App: A Modern Clean Design

One of the first things you'll notice when opening up the new YouTube app is its modern clean design. The images are nice and bright, big, and clear, making it a pleasure to use. I'm not sure why people would complain about this change - in my opinion, it's a great update over the original iOS YouTube app. You can either slide over or tap right here to go to your settings, where you'll find your channel, channels you're subscribed to, and categories to browse through.

Accessing Your Channel and Videos

If you want to access your channel, simply tap on this button, and as you can see, I'm subscribed. If you ever want to subscribe to a channel, just click the plus button over here. Let's take a look at one of my videos - just click on it, and pause that for a moment. As you can see, you can like and dislike the video by clicking over here. You can also add it to favorites right here, and there's even a subscribe button right here so you can automatically subscribe when you turn your device to landscape mode.

Full Screen Mode and Comments Section

I really love how this app works - when you scroll through videos, you'll notice that the comments section is just below. If you want to scroll up, it gives you more room to respond, which is a great feature. And if you're searching for a video, there's a neat feature called YouTube voice search that works on all devices. I'll show you how it works right now - just press this button and try out "how to jailbreak iPhone 4", and see how well it kicks back to the search results almost right away.

Limitations of the New App

Although I really like the new app, there are two things that I don't like about it. Firstly, you can't respond to comments - which is a bit disappointing, but hopefully this will be fixed in a future software update. Secondly, the app isn't available on my iPad, which is a shame.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I hope you guys enjoyed this video and learned a bit more about the new YouTube app for iOS 6.
