the bestfrom Google and the bestfrom Apple here, and hopefullyby the end of this videoyou'll know which deviceis better for you.So, starting off on the size differences,both are actually very,very similar in size.Both pretty large devices.Now, although they'revery similar in size,the iPhone does have, a slightlylarger, 6.5 inch displaycompared to the 6.3inches on the Pixel 3 XL.Now, this is because the iPhone does havea slightly better screen to body ratioand both devices do have a notch.The iPhone notch is a little bit wide,whereas, the Pixel notchis very, very deep.The Pixel also has achin, this is somethingthat the iPhone doesn't have.The bezels are uniform all around,so you do have a larger chin on the Pixel.However, the Pixel does havefront firing stereo speakerswithin that notch and that chin.The iPhone does have stereo speakers,but one is in the earpieceand one is bottom firingso, it is still possibleto cover this speaker upwhen you've got it in your hand.Neither of the devices havea 3.5 mm jack unfortunately.This is something that we didn't haveon the previous versions either.However, on the Pixel you doget the dongle out of the box.The 3.5 mm to USB type C dongle.This is something that you do not,unfortunately, get with the iPhone XS Max.It's something that we did havefor the last couple of yearson the previous versions,but we no longer get that out of the box.Taking a closer look at the displays,both do have OLED displayswhich do look really, really good.We've got very high contrast ratiosand really nice and vibrant colors.Now, my initial impressions,both are very, very good.I'll have to spend somemore time with themand test them out in brightday light and things,to really tell the differences.The Pixel, however, doeshave a slightly higherpixel density, pixel, pixel density.Now, this isn't going to behugely noticeable for most people,but, this does mean thatdetails will be slightly sharperon the Pixel compared to the iPhone.The iPhone, however, does have 3D-Touch.Now, this is a pressure sensitive displayand it's going to allowyou to push down harderon certain items to getmore options and things.This is something that youdon't have on the Pixel.Now, lets talk about the build and design.The iPhone has a stainless steel framewith a glass panel at the back.Now Apple is saying that thisis the most durable glasson any smart phone, and from the drop testthat I've seen it doesseem very, very durable.The Pixel has a painted metal frame,so you've got a layer ofpaint above the metal.Now, this may mean that ifyou get a chip or something,it's going to be a littlebit more visible on the Pixelcompared to the stainlesssteel frame of the iPhone.But, you also have a glass back,however, the glass back on thePixel is slightly different.It's actually soft touch glass.Now, this makes it a littlebit more grippy comparedto the iPhone and it alsoattracts less fingerprints.Which one of these is betteris going to come down toyour personal preference.In my opinion, both arevery good and premium.If you do want to,however, customize the lookof either of these andwant to add more gripand get rid of fingerprints,then I the Pixel skins are now on pre-order.Both devices are also IP68 waterand dust resistant which is great.Last year we had IP67 forboth the previous versions.So, it's nice to see thatimprovement this year.And now let's talk about the internals.So, with the iPhone XS maxwe've got Apple A12 Bionic chip.It is very, very fast and smooth.I've been using the XSmax for the last few weeksand I really haven't had anyperformance issues whatsoever.The Pixel 3 XL has the QualcommSnapdragon 845 Processorand both devices have 4 gigabytes of RAM.Now, if you want me to do aspeed test between these twoSuperSaf style, definitely let me knowin the comments below, and Iwill do that very, very soon.But, both devices shouldbe very fast and smoothand that is also thanksto the operating systems.Both do have stock versionsof their respective operating systems.We've got Android Pie on the Pixeland then we've got iOS 12 on the iPhone.Now, what this means isthat you're going to begetting updates directlyfrom Google and Apple.You're not going to haveto wait around or anything,like you have do withlots of other devices.However, which is betteris going to come downcompletely to your personal preference.Both have their advantagesand disadvantages.Now let's talk about the cameras.So, the iPhone has a dualrefacing camera set-up.Both are 12 mega pixels withOptical Image Stabilization.The primary camera hasa regular angular viewand has an f/1.8 aperture.And the secondary camerais a telephoto camera,which is going to giveyou two times optical zoomand that has an f/2.4 aperture.I've been using the iPhonecamera since it was released,and I have to say, it'sdefinitely been improvedcompared to last year,especially when it comesto dynamic range, SmartHDR really does help.Now, this is an area whereGoogle is very, very goodat dynamic range, and we've gota single refacing camerawhich is 12 mega pixels.It has optical image stabilizationand an f/1.8 aperture withGoogle's Pixel Visual Core.Now, I'm still waiting forthe latest software updateon the Pixel before I cando a detailed SuperSaf stylecamera comparison and ifyou want to see that first,then, make sure you have subscribedand switch on notifications, 'cause that'sgoing to be coming very, very soon.Now, the iPhone does geta couple of advantages.Firstly, it does havethe secondary camera,so it's going to give youtwo times optical zoom,which is always going to bebetter, compared to digital zoom.And it can also form videoat higher frame rates,we've got 4K at up to 60 frames a second,and 1080p at up to 240 frames a second,whereas, on the Pixel itis 4K at 30 frames a secondand 1080p at up to 120 frames a second.And when it comes to thefront facing cameras,things are reversed.So, we now have dualcameras for the Pixel 3 XL.We have a single front facingcamera for the iPhone XS Max.The front facing cameraon the iPhone XS Maxis seven mega pixelswith an f/2.2 aperture.Once again it has definitely been improvedcompared to last year.With the Pixel you've gottwo, eight mega pixel cameras.The primary camera has an f/1.8 apertureand that has a regular angle of view.And the secondary camerahas an f/2.2 apertureand this has a very wideangled view, 97 degrees.And this is going to begreat for your group selfies.And as mentioned I willbe putting these twoside by side very, very soon,so do look out for that.Now, looking at the security,the iPhone does have Face ID.Works really well and is very, very fast.The Pixel has a fingerprintscanner at the back,Pixel Imprint and it also worksreally well and really fast.I think this is going to come down toyour personal preference, whether you likea fingerprint scanneror facial recognition.Honestly speaking, I don'tthink you can go wrongwith either of these,they work very, very well.Now, moving on to the batteries.The Pixel does have aslightly larger batterycompared to the iPhone.Now, usage wise, this is going to depend,and we're going to have tosee how well each of these do.The iPhone XS Max, in my experienceof using it over the past couple of weeks,has been very, very goodin terms of battery life.We'll see how good thePixel is going forward.Both devices do support wirelesscharging, which is greatand they also do support fast charging.However, the iPhone does not comewith the fast charger out of the box.This is something thatyou do get with the Pixel.Now, this is somethingthat I've talked about,a few times before, it'sunfortunate that Appledoes not include the fastcharger out of the box,especially considering howmuch you're going to be payingfor the iPhone and that is £1100/$1000for the base 64 gigabyte model.And comparing it to the priceof the 64 gigabyte version of the Pixel,you are going to be payingquite a bit more for the iPhone.The Pixel coming in morethan 20 percent cheaper.Now, you do get additionaland larger storage optionsfor the iPhone going up to 512 gigabytes,whereas, the Pixel onlygoes up to 128 gigabytes.However, with the Pixel,you do get unlimited storageat full resolution of allof your photos and videosfor a couple of years.This is something that's included in withthe purchase of your Pixel andafter those couple of years,you will still get highresolution backups,but not full resolution.So, that's definitelysomething to bear in mind.If you do want to getiCloud on your iPhone,you are going to have topay for that separately.In terms of availability, theXS Max is available right now.With the Pixel, pre-ordershave started right nowand it's going to be comingout around the 1st of
