Let's Draw Shabbat Candles

Welcome to Kosher.com's Kosher Kids Canvas Kitchen! I'm Mushky from Honor Roll Crafts, and today we're going to draw something super special – candles for Shabbos!

We love lighting Shabbos candles, it's one of our favorite things to do. There's just something so cozy and inviting about bringing in the Shabbos by lighting these beautiful mixed lights. And, as you can see, I have a whole collection of them here. But today, we're not going to cook food like we usually do – instead, we're going to draw! That's right; all it takes is a pencil or marker and a dash of creativity to create something amazing.

Now, before we get started, I want to remind you that all you need is some paper and your imagination. You can use any kind of pen or pencil you like, and don't worry if your drawing doesn't look perfect – it's all about having fun and being creative! So, are you ready to get started? Let's dive right in!

First things first, we're going to make a nice rectangle for our candle. You can choose any shape you like, but I think a simple rectangle works best. Just draw two lines across the page and then another line down – voila! You've got yourself a beautiful canvas for your candle.

Now, let's add some details. We want our candle to look nice and symmetrical, so why not make two identical candles? That way, we can have one on each side of our rectangle. Just draw two more rectangles, mirror images of the first one, and then add some lines to connect them together. Easy peasy!

But wait – what about making it look like a real candle? We want it to be special, after all! So, let's add some little circles to make it look like the wax on our candle is melting. Just draw a few small circles along the top of each rectangle, and then add some lines to connect them together. It's starting to look like a real candle!

Now, let's give our candle some personality. We can add some legs to make it stand out – just draw a little stick with a foot at the bottom of each rectangle, and you'll have yourself a happy little candle! And, if you want to get really creative, you could even add some details like flames or wick marks.

I love this part of drawing because we get to add facial expressions to our candles. Who says candles can't smile? Just draw two small circles for the eyes and add a smile – voila! You've got yourself a happy little candle that's ready to light up your Shabbos.

Okay, it's time to put everything together. Let's connect all the lines and add some final details to make our candle look its absolute best. And, of course, we need to make sure our candle has hands – because what's a candle without some cute little arms waving around? It's finally starting to come together!

And that's it! You now have your very own candle drawing, complete with happy little faces and wiggly legs. I hope you had as much fun drawing this as I did, because that's exactly what art is all about – having fun and being creative.

Well, before we say goodbye, I just want to remind you of one more important thing: Shabbos candles are a way for us to celebrate the Sabbath day and show our love and respect for God. So, next time you light your candle, remember to take a moment to appreciate the beauty and significance of this special tradition.

Thanks so much for joining me in the Kosher Kids Canvas Kitchen today! I hope you'll come back and visit us again soon, because we have tons of other fun projects and activities waiting for you. Until next time, stay creative and keep on smiling – just like our happy little candles!
